Sitting at the table with my kids. My son, Jesse, just randomly starts singing.

Jesse: I wanna be a billionaire so effing baaad!

Me: Ugh, stop singing!

Carlos: Stop, you can't sing!

Jesse: Buy all of the things I never had!

Me: Jesse! Be quiet already!

Jesse: Uhhh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine. . .

Marissa: Shut up, Jesse Bieber!

So my boys, Jesse and Carlos, built a chicken coop last year. We bought chickens and a rooster and they've been raising them ever since. It took about seven months for the chickens to start laying eggs. If you've never had a farm-fresh egg, you don't know what you're missing. Our chickens lay about six to eight eggs a day. Sometimes, the eggs are brown. Sometimes, they're a light tan. We also have chickens that lay blue eggs!

The rooster is a mean son of a bitch. He'll attack anyone ...

I'll be honest. I'm not a fan of purple prose outside of a sprinkling here and there in instances when you want to invoke a sense of extreme emotion. If what can be said with one word means the same thing as what can be said in twenty, it's pretty much safer (and better) to use that one word. I understand that sometimes you need an exact phrase or word because it's simply the only one that will -fit- and you need an exactness in meaning. But most often you can use simpler words and phrases. If too ...

So awhile back, my sister came to visit and brought two of her kids with her, Emily and Zachary. Zachary's like...four and absolutely adorable with a -huge- imagination.

One of my many hobbies that I enjoy is crafting jewelry. I've been crafting jewelry for quite a few years now and most of my family has received a few items from me as gifts for birthdays and other holidays. I've always been told I should open a shop in town but, realistically, that isn't possible for me.

Smoking, that is.

I've smoked for the better part of twenty years. Nearly a pack a day. Surprisingly enough, I haven't dropped dead from lung cancer or emphysema or the variety of other diseases that smoking can cause.

I've tried to quit before, several times. Haven't been able to do it, though. Just can't quit cold turkey like that. I know some people can, but I can't.

I've tried the nicotine gum, the nicotine patches, and other quit ...

Okay, so yesterday I turned 29 for the eighth time. Yay, me. >.>

For my birthday, my kids decided to bake a Dutch apple pie for me since I hate, absolutely hate regular birthday cakes. This. . . was delicious. After pie and ice cream and the whole happy birthday song it was time to open presents.

My kids are pretty awesome, methinks. Marissa gave me a Visa gift card, Jesse gave me a Sonic gift card and Carlos. . .well, he's been pretty bad the past couple of months ...
