Rating: Valucre is rated-R for content. We're all adults, and for those of us who aren't, well you signed an agreement upon registering to the site and if it offends you, then you are welcome to leave. It's important to note that this is not an MA rating. So, things like nudity, suggestive/innuendo, and so on are fine, but hardcore description of sexual acts or just general nasty things is prohibited.

Don't just reply, respond: In a thread, especially those threads that entertain an unusually high number of players, it is important to remember that one must respond, not merely reply. What is meant by this one's reply should be more than simple, visceral reactions to everything done before your turn. There is no forward progress, growth is inhibited, and your character becomes wooden. Actually respond.

On anachronous items: Players are allowed to bring characters into the canon that have weaponry or items that do not align with the current technological interests of the area they choose to play in but understand your limitations. For instance, a character can show up with a gun but if that character does not know how to make bullets or the process to make bullets so as to explain it to a smith, then that character will likely have no more bullets. This is a general rule, and the owners of their respective boards are free to change this rule at their discretion.

How do I get my own board?

Board creation is fairly painless. The staff of Valucre are prepared to make a board for nearly anyone that asks, as long as two conditions are met.

One, understand that the board will most likely be put in the Other section or even in the Alternative board. The three main categories (Terrenus, Genesaris, and Tellus Mater) are all canon and random creation is hard to pull off.

Two, for board creation we require a certain amount of requisite activity before the board is made. That is to say that in order for a board to be made at a user's request, it will require 5 players (original user included) for the board to be created. Users will not be given the Mod title, as it gives them access to the Moderator Control Panel even when they don't need it to, but they will be put on a master list of people who can request that certain things be done to the board in question.

Board creation does not simply have to be an extension of the current canon. You can make your own roleplay theme and have a board created for your specific needs, be it steampunk or modern fantasy or sci-fi or what have you.

Recommendation: Start a thread surrounding your primary idea and get the people that are interested in it to post in the thread. When you ask staff to make the board, you can merely link to the thread to show the interested parties.

      What about guilds/clans/crime groups/etc?

Creation of a guild/clan/crime group and so on is much easier than the creation of a board, although if you want a board for your particular organization, then the above requisites must be met. Regardless, in order to start something up, it depends on the area. You should ask the moderator of the forum in question. To be honest, though, this will almost always be met with a positive answer. Board moderators are always looking for ways to get things moving and popping.

Conflict of any kind is welcome, as long as it is within the limits. Start out small and reasonable, and you can work your way up to the ranks to whatever position you desire. Nothing's impossible here (…within reason, you know what I mean.)

Tell me about fights and character deaths?

It is forum-wide policy that any fight that takes place in the coliseum, or anywhere else on the forum for that matter, does not constitute death. However, this does not mean that players have to "hold back" in fights from killing their opponent. One can kill one's opponent for the purposes of the fight, but their death will merely count as a loss in canon, and character deletion is unnecessary.

In order to have a death-match battle, both fighters must be made aware of this criteria and both fighters must agree to it. This policy exists really for no reason other than that I think death-matches that cause character deletion are super lame.
