    Draconai (race plural)
    Draconi (race singular)

    External Physical Description (what you see): Humanoid in form (two legs, arms… five fingers ETC). Their heads however are elongated with the eyes slightly side-set and larger jaws reminiscent of their draconic ancestry. They tend to be athletic in build and militaristic in bearing. There are spikes that come from their fore-arms, almost like arm blades. These are naturally very sharp and able to cut, with almost a razor like edge to them.

    They are completely covered in scales each scale growing slightly beneath the one ahead of it in orientation overlapping slightly. Typical scale is 1 -5mm thick. The scales have a density equivalence of Osmium (22610 kg⁄m³ or 22.61 g⁄cm³). These scales stay well within the normal range over much of the body save for the facial and hand areas have much smaller micro-scales (the hands having unique scales with an almost sandy appearance, adding to the subjects grip); also on top the head and along the spine are found much thicker, heavier scales with slightly raised edges.

    They have human-like nails but they are much denser not to mention having natural points curving grip-ward. On the feet are actual claws extending from just behind the toe tips to several inches forward.

    Each draconi differs in coloration greatly due to the pigments found in their scales. They vary from an almost pure white often seen in the artic climate preferring populace to matte black found in their soldier class. Their eyes tend to be blue, green or yellow and some few of the upper classes have eyes which appear to change color depending on mood and lighting conditions; however, the rarest eye set of all has a metallic coating which gives the draconi eyes a mirror like finish and also enhances his natural sight well beyond the normal light spectrum literally enabling the draconi to see energy.

    Internal Physical Description (What you don’t see): The muscular and skeletal systems are of unusual density. The skeletal system consists of a natural polymer roughly double the density of their scales. This allows their also highly dense musculature to function at peak capacity without fear of crushing oneself in the exertion.

    Their hearts are unusually active even while they are dormant averaging over 200bps; this allows for a high blood pressure and increased flow environment which speeds nutrients and elements thru the body. The blood is a shiny green in appearance due to genetically altered plankton within the circulatory system. This plankton has been altered to offer a symbiotic relationship with the host, processing their blood at extremely high rates the plankton literally devours most forms of toxins produced within the body, in turn creating things the body much needs from oxygen to sugar.

    The nervous system is unique in that the 90% of the nervous system (outside the brain) is made up of myelinated nerves which have a conduction velocity roughly 100 million times that of normal human nerves they function as an extended spinal column system speeding the signals from various parts of the anatomy to the brain. This allows for sensory input from the various parts (i.e. hands, eyes) at far reduced times and faster muscular coordination. The Draconai are thus capable of motions faster than even enhanced human perception.


    Psychological, Physiological and Genetic Description

    Each of the Draconai is born into one of four classes whose psychological and genetic legacy predetermines natural abilities. The Draconai Genetics are uniquely complex in that not only does it carry inherent instincts in its programming but also a form of actual genetic memory bank. This Genetic legacy allows all Draconi to quickly learn even the most complex of tasks at an early age because to their subconscious mind they have literally already done it billions of times. Also each class has special abilities and magics limited to those born of their ancestry.

    Magic

    All of the Draconi are born with psionic abilities most of which vary greatly depending on class, breeding and use. Due to their draconic ancestry they are naturally immune to elemental magic, psionics and elements save when taken to the extreme (i.e. in order for a fatal burn to occur the ambient temperatures would have to be roughly 5000 Kelvin or for those of us not versed in such, slightly below the surface temperature of the sun). They also possess elemental, plane and dimensional magic’s that come naturally, the lower the class the weaker the power but they are still quite capable.

    Class type comments

    Militaristic: These Draconai are fairly simple minded as a rule and loyal to a fault. They tend to be blood thirsty and simplistic warriors much preferring blades and other crude instruments to the more efficient but less gratifying nature of advanced weaponry and magic. Soldiers are natural masters in telekinesis and ESP and have advanced physical adaptations such as high speed healing.

    Subtype - commander: This sub-soldier class is of higher mentality and possesses additional abilities which vary greatly and usually determine what level of command they are placed in.

    Scientific: These Draconai are of extremely high mentality but low class physical aspects. Their studies alter vastly upon personal choice from though they always excel at their chosen path. Some choose the medical field, some study the field of sub-atomic particles and still others concentrate on temporal magic’s, along with many other things. The science class has a tendency to be conceited.

    Support: These are the common people of the Draconai; taking life careers from the common mechanic who possess an innate ability to know just how to tune a machine to a farmer that posses a unique emphatic bond with his plants. While more or less friendly in nature the Draconai within this class have a tendency to be uninterested in things not pertaining to their specialty.

    Royal Class: The rulers of the Draconai, able to use mighty magic’s and much more. They have metallic eyes along with scales; the metallic look of the eyes is due to special lenses on the eyeballs… This allows them to see energy as it flows and how it flows, for example allowing them to see how a spell forms and copy it to remake the spell, they also possess photographic memory.((Please get permission before playing one of these.)

    Government
    The Draconai have developed the form of government largely known as an autocracy but with strong military dictatorship values. The military largely runs the government carrying out its policies and seeing to the application of its laws. The current ruler holds all the power; however, the rule is not handed down by heredity but rather the successor is chosen from among the family by the current ruler/s or should such a thing never happen the family holds council on the matter after the death of the blood-ruler.

    The royal family is best described as the ultimate military commander unit their powers and abilities are god-like and they themselves are nearly indestructible. They live for as long as they wish so long as they do not fall in battle. They are often found to be reclusive in nature preferring personal lands and the privacy therein to mixing with the small-folk. Some do pledge themselves to serving the throne for life and thus gain useful positions of high trust within the government.

    Although the royal family is well known and ultimately powerful their numbers are always low. Historically speaking it is not unheard of for the royal family to number as few as three or as many as fifteen but generally they remain well within the single digits as the younger ones unhappy in their lesser roles often migrate to other planets or dimensions seeking out their fortunes as fate allows.

    Law system

    Note: The Draconai are unique in the application of their laws in that any person found guilty of a serious crime may choose one of two possible fates.

    The first is to be sent to a dimension of no return the primary planet thereof being entirely inhabitable but of less than pleasant conditions by Draconai definitions. There they work in mines or asteroid fields as they see fit; the primary planet is incapable of supporting most life forms save for a unusually aggressive form of mold-like ground cover which developed there and the prisoners. Supplies are delivered to the planet in exchange for raw ores via the only stable and well protected gate . Powerful magic’s were set in place long ago which siphons all magical energy within this dimension to keep the portal open and shielded in such a way that no living thing may exit the dimension via this gate.. and all attempts to open a gate within the dimension will lead to the new gate merging instantly with this gate upon creation.

    The second fate is trial by fire; the guilty party is marched to a local coliseum where they are tested by one of many armed combat situations as decreed by the ruler should they survive they are given a ship and supplies as they wish, and banished from the realm after a micro-bomb is planted in their brain, to return for any reason is instantaneous death. All this being said is summed up easily thus: the Draconai are known for leniency and detest the use of death as punishment.
