• Rosinder: Resources

National Resources: These are resources that are unique to Rosinder. It has a strictly isolationist policy, so there is no importing to or exporting from other countries. If you wish to use these, do so sensibly.

Magebane - This plant is a species of wolfsbane that has grown in dark, arid environments rich with magical energy; it has adapted to incorporate such power, weakening magic in its presence. It is easily recognizable due to its iridescent star shaped racemes. Magebane is grown both outside and indoors at many prisons; it can also be grown inside a mage as an agonizing form of torture.

Whisperweed - A genus belonging to the common bindweed family that is useful for its ability to transmit sounds over long distances to other whisperweeds. Most people consider them annoyances, as anywhere whisperweed grows tend to be filled with unwanted random noises from other locations. Some virtuosos choose to play them as instruments. Naturally occurring whisperweed can send sounds up to a kilometer away; the species grown by the military has no such limitations and is both rare and illegal for civilians to own.

Aurum - Gold mined from volcanic areas that can conduct most forms of energy, but imprints to only absorbing and storing a single type after initial use. The more energy aurum stores, the smokier its appearance. It is used as a stabilizer, since altering the phase of aurum will calmly dissipate what it holds, as it is never volatile. Similarly, it can be imprinted to a specific person or group.

Aquanine - Frozen azurine. In this form, aquanine will spontaneously rust metals on contact. Condensation tends to collect on its surface, its name owing to its constant wetness and icy appearance.

Azurine - It has the look and consistency of sapphire goo. It's harvested from alluvial strata because it is extremely effective against machinery; when it is electrified it entertains all the properties of an electromagnetic pulse weapon. Biological targets, and less complicated machinery, are also at risk as the goo burns.

Rubis - Culturally one of the most important minerals, rubis is unmistakable due to its bright red glow. Rubis is dangerous to mine, since prolonged exposure to its raw form causes amnesia. This is because it stores memories, destructively if precautions are not taken. Processed rubis, in the form of dust or liquid, is used in rune tracing to call upon the memory of a spell. Ingesting it causes insanity.

Crimsonine - Named for its crimson color, crimsonine is a rare precious stone that returns kinetic energy at a similar magnitude in the same direction of impact; militarily they are often referred to as reversal rubies. Crimsonine mixed in with pigment is used as war paint, but wealthy individuals may have armor or weapons constructed out of it.

Opalite - Dark purple crystals that are found in large geodes; they create weak entropic fields that alter the course of projectiles, from thrown dice to artillery shells. The larger the opalite, the greater the field. When the field is active, opalite has an opalescent shimmer.

Argentum - Extremely dense and hard, argentum is a blue-gray lustrous ore that is difficult to smelt due to its high melting point. Argentum burns white on contact with the auras of supernatural beings, including humans that use innate rather than alchemic magic or who are in the process of casting, which is unpleasant to say the least.

Viridis - Dark green metallic glass that enhances the natural qualities of anything it is crafted with. Since it is highly ductile on its own, it is usually present in alloys. Viridis also has shape memory, meaning once it is forged it can easily be repaired to its original shape.

Zol - Mineral that glows bright blue. It is the least dense solid material discovered, yet is capable of holding an impressive amount of weight. Materials made with zol will always float on water and may hover if the weight is distributed well. Pure zol will simply float away, presumably never to be seen again. The floating land masses of Tellus Mater are due to high zol deposits.
