• Zenial Passage

Ancient ruins of an Elven city built long before the corruption of the Soul Song, Zenial Passage is the only site on Isélyr where the light from neither the sun nor Isélyr’s twin moons can cast shadows no matter the time of day (or night).

Labyrinthine passages lead deep into the belly of Isélyr. Strange creatures roam these halls. Each level is more dangerous than the last and it is here where mages who seek to become Oracles begin their quest and, upon completion, may gain the title of Oracle. On the lowest floor of Zenial Passage lies the Dyennes and their Wellspring of Time.

There are three Dyennes, each representing a period of time; past ( Orena ), present ( Siknae ), and future ( Uleza ). Spiritual beings, Dyennes do not need a physical body, however, upon a quester’s visit, the Dyenne’s will assume the physical shape of whoever the quester holds dear to them. The Dyennes are connected to diaphanous strands that act almost like embryonic cords which collect their ‘liquid thoughts’. These thoughts are Iselyr’s past, present, and future. The strands empty into a porcelain basin called the Wellspring of Time.

Three Gazers (ascended Oracles who have given up his/her physical ability to see) can then look into this well of crystal clear waters and transcribe time. These records of time are indexed and guarded by the Codex within the Athenaeum in Chemosh.
