The Day is Mine

I am logical, and have difficulty being empathetic with others. But I am learning, day by day, as a child would learn to crawl then walk. I consider myself an intellectual, someone who seeks intelligent pursuits as opposed to an existence of triviality and superficiality. I am inquisitive and analytical, sometimes to the point of mercilessness. I challenge tradition and defend efficiency. I live for love, freedom, and constant self-improvement. I'd die for any of those things, too.

That paragraph was probably the most pointless shit ever written, because it paints me in a black and white portrait. I do not stand on the left or the right. I am somewhere in the middle, splashed damp with all the shades between red and blue. I understand the need to fight, but sometimes the greater need to love. I realize the power of the pen, but also the might of the sword. I am not merely an intellectual, because I enjoy entertainment, in moderation. The world does not exist in duality. It is not up or down, right or left, one or zero. As Aristotle said, moderation is not mediocrity; balance is harmony, and the pinnacle of existence is only reached by those who grows in all dimensions.
