The Hummingbird

A while ago I wrote about the famous Cannibal Holocaust and Chaos. I decided to seek out Chaos, and after failing, my friend assisted me and eventually I got to watch the entire movie. Apparently, the producers hoped this movie would act as a warning. Mission accomplished! Should I have any daughters, they will not leave the house. Ever.

I didn't think it could get much worse than the first gruesome rape scene. I was wrong. It got worse, much worse. After everyone was dead I felt I had seen everything. This movie was horrific in so many ways...

But not as much as A Serbian Film. The same friend who sought out Chaos somehow got his hands on this, and straightaway recommended that I see it.

The title caused some confusion with my other friend, who insisted on its name two or three times. This film is supposed to be rather symbolic of the horrid state Serbia was once in. I think I see some of it, but it was mostly drowned out by the literal content of the movie.

Basically this male porn star takes on one last job and finds himself the unwilling participant of a sadistic snuff film. It starts off rather mild - he just hits a woman. Then he gets drugged, and it's all downhill from there.

Do you want to see a lot of porn? This movie has it. Do you want to see women beatings? This movie. Do you want to see pregnant and newborn porn? You read that right. This movie has it. Incest, more rape, and brutal killings? This movie has it all. By the time this movie ends you will either be stiff as a board or reduced to a shell that has ceased to feel anything.

The acting is phenomenal though with one hell of a soundtrack.

I'm never watching it again.
