All about the myths of homeless children in Miami.

It's a little dated (1997), but still interesting.

This article is chilling, yet it was an interesting look at how myths and urban legends crop up in our society. The blending of other elements from other "myths" is fascinating and can be seen in tales of old where some blend elements of other stories into their own. However, most importantly - and I feel that the crux of the article was this - these myths are often generated from a need for comfort, the hope that there is someone else fighting for you. What some might find ludicrous may feel like complete truth to another, and I feel that the article's underlying message is that we shouldn't ridicule another's beliefs.

    Thank you for posting. :D

It was interesting to see the way homeless children transformed popular legends into their own mythos. I thought it was especially interesting when they mention that it wasn't specific to Miami (even though they focused on Miami). The way myths seem to grow and spread out, taking on a life of their own is amazing.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! <3
