I don't remember if I've posted a blog that truly represents what a blog is supposed to be. Either way, let's pretend I haven't. With that in mind, there's a first time for everything!

Right now I'm listening to Fedor's old PRIDE theme while being lazy in general. Really, I'm just taking a break from getting everything ready. Starting tomorrow I'll be going back to Ohio for a week, visiting niggas and chillin'.

About six months ago I started training 14-16 hours a week in MMA with Team Apocalypse. They're essentially a subsidary of Team Millennia under Javier Vazquez. I wish I could train more, but, work schedules make that pretty hard. I do what I can outside of the gym, but it doesn't replace decent sparring partners.

Although the Team Apocalypse guys are far from top tier, they're still significantly superior to average untrained individuals, and they're better off than your average run of the mill amateur fight team - probably because half of the group fights professionally. With their guidance I've definitely improved, but I don't know how much.

The point of mentioning all of this is that when I go back, I'm going to be training with and sparring with my old friends. I honestly hope that I can destroy them. Like, just utterly and with no effort completely obliterate them. There are days in practice where I feel like I'm hardly evolving, moving like a slug while trying to chase after cheetahs. In that regard though, a new born baby is a teenager before you know it. It seems harder to notice because you're with them every day, and the growing process is gradual.

I know that my old training buddies in Ohio haven't been working as frequently as I have, nor have they had access to the sparring partners I have. But I also know that when I left, most of them were better than me by a fair margin. I'm really hoping that this week will be a moment of gratification for me. That I've evolved so much that people who used to be better than me can't even hold a candle to me anymore.

Side note: Iron Maiden is awesome.
