Ok, been long enough, figure some further previews for Artifacture are in order, particularly the professions that players will be able to have. Today, we start with the most basic of professions: the warrior
Guard- The Backbone of Artifacture, Guards serve many functions within the Well- all of them involving guarding things. Guarding doors that lead to other worlds, Guarding artifacts, Guarding workers, to guarding other guard (while they are sleeping of course). The are obviously the most combat ready in the work force, and those that work for the Office of Inquiry tend to be a cut above the rest.
They are generally the most competent in terms of weaponry, from mundane fair, to standard issue guardian lance and flowshot, to the more exotic of weapons brought against the impudent and eager. At the higher ranks, their hardened nature makes them quite apt at wading into madness and seeing thought the lies of the corrupt
Usually when taken on, they tend to be high ranking direct-action guards- primed to take the Ultimus Oath and forsake all that they know to protect that which must not be seen, but instead selected for a different path. One that likely will end in their death.
Their focus before entering tends to be as either of close-combat Protectors or the long-range Defenders.
In the end, they all serve as Judges
