Words Rule The World

Rate this Entry
For those of you who don't know, I have graduated my undergraduate university career with a degree in Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour. . .

Only to abandon that career path for one thing

Writing.

Now I pursue a career as a copywriter while I work on my dream of becoming a successful novelist. I can't live a life expectancy less than 200 where my memory dies with my grandchildren and maybe a story or two that go maybe a generation more if I'm lucky.

I want to live forever and for many, many people.

But if there has anything I've learned, it's that there is no better way to do that than to master the ability to use words.

As a student of all forms of writing (I have written stories, academic theses and critiques, articles, sales literature, poetry. . . roleplay) I can't believe the power of words.

I posted in FreeChat earlier that a single letter added to a headline increased the consumer response rate by 300% to that ad.

One letter.

If you want to be a writer, do it. Don't let any preconception of failing freelancers and impovershed authors get you down.

Dan Kennedy and Gary Halbert have produced over a billion dollars in sales using their words.

NYT Best selling authors pull in millions.

No one starts this way, but if I've learned anything, it's that what makes the difference between dreaming and living, is the act of doing.

So if you have a dream. . . do it.

I am, and I can't live any other way.

My humble rambling.

Someone: If you want to be remembered either write things worth doing or do things worth writing.

Someone else: I know a ton of writers that are more talented than I am. The only difference is that I finish my work.
