The strange craft that called to Kou was long gone in distance, but the memory was still there. Kou seemed to know where he was meant to be after that strange collar was placed around his neck. He wasn't about to say he was happy for being collared like a fucking dog, but he would show that he had more bite than his bark. The dirty blonde hair waved a bit in the wind as the youth found himself standing at the doorsteps of a local inn referred to as The Hotaka Blossom. It was a pitiful place, but Kou felt as if he needed to be here. He didn't know why or who he was going to be fighting in this supposed tournament, but he just walked to the bar and took a sit.

    "Got any sake?"
    "Of course."
"Make it two, I have a friend coming."

It would be rude to not buy the other a drink. Kou would pay for it with his own money and drink his as he waited to offer the drink to the person he would soon destroy.

OOC: wut wut. I hate intros.

It was indeed a glorious day to die. What? Who'd said anything about dying?! Graves couldn't die...not yet, anyway. He had too many people left to kill. All the Gaian infidels still hanging on their flower farting Odin Haze's every word, Odin Haze still the flower farting son of a bitch, and Michael...no, Graves musn't forget Michael.

Can't forget the boy who's seen your real smile.

No, no he couldn't forget Michael. Especially when he was in Weland City. Ah, the scent of blood and human waste...it was a night to remember to be sure, but regrettably in the past. Now, Graves had to look towards the fut-the present! Now Graves had to look towards the present.

There would, no doubt, be some onlookers who claimed that Graves stormed into the inn or that he and his opponent were combatant from the start, but such was a lie. In truth, Graves' entrance was not overtly loud and neither was it deceptively silent. He strolled into the inn as he might any establishment and upon finding his opponent (thanks to the oh-so stylish collar he too was wearing) gave a broad smile that never touched his eyes.

"How do you do, My name is Alexander Graves, but all of my friends call me Graves, I do so hope that this competition will not hinder us from becoming fast and long-time friends. What, if I may ask, is your name?"

God dammit, if there was a boy in the whole of Valucre more charming and wondrous...well let's face it, there wasn't. What magnificence! What comradery! What deception!

Even now, Graves' remarkably erratic brain was spinning methods and ideas that he might use to ensnare his seemingly laid back opponent into his schemes.

At the sight of the drink, Graves smiled. "Ah, a token of friendship long before my arrival. Indeed, you are a man among men, but I must, sadly, decline. In my youth, I am incapable of holding my liquor. Such a drink would most assuredly effect my performance and, despite our newfound and fast friendship, I cannot afford to hinder my performance."

POISON! IT WAS POISON! That darling genius, Graves evaded yet another ploy set in place by the Gaianist sympathizers!

Yellow eyes, dead and glazed over, peered from Kou to his drink. "By all means, please take your time. I'm told we're to have an entire section of the town squared off for our bout, eh?" A question? Not necessarily, it was difficult to tell given the way Graves genuflected certain words and even more bothersome given the fact that he never ceased smiling.

    Graves....

Kou simply looked at the man for a moment as he tried to mentally assume the man's fighting skills, but it was always so hard to judge a person merely by looks. If someone was to take a look at Kou, they would surely picture him the pretty boy of the bunch, but he was far from that in reality. They might even consider him nice, but he was nice only to those he liked. The most outstretched idea was that he was friendly; now that was the biggest shit of them all. He was none of the above, minus the one thing his so called friend referred to him as. He was as laid back as they came.

"How do you do, My name is Alexander Graves, but all of my friends call me Graves, I do so hope that this competition will not hinder us from becoming fast and long-time friends. What, if I may ask, is your name?

"The names Kou...Kou Douteki. It doesn't matter what you end up calling me because it won't be long until I meet the next road bump."

He quickly downed the rest of his sake as he rose from his chair and cracked a few of the bones in his neck with a swift motion. So this was his opponent? Kou figured he would have to do for now, but he hoped that he would meet someone who sent a chill down his spine when he looked at him. This tournament was merely a way to get Kou back into the game of things. He had been too long without the taste of battle; having grown almost tamed in his time in this realm. Oh how he missed the realm of Ayenee, a place he could throw a stick and face a man in battle. Now it was all about organized bullshit.

"Ah, a token of friendship long before my arrival. Indeed, you are a man among men, but I must, sadly, decline. In my youth, I am incapable of holding my liquor. Such a drink would most assuredly effect my performance and, despite our newfound and fast friendship, I cannot afford to hinder my performance.

"We couldn't have that I suppose. I'd rather not kill a man who wasn't on top of his game. It just wouldn't feel right."

"By all means, please take your time. I'm told we're to have an entire section of the town squared off for our bout, eh?"

Even as he asked the question, Kou was finishing off the drink that he offered to the man. If Graves was going to waste a perfectly good cup of sake, Kou was more than capable of handling it himself. The drink was more of a relaxer to him anyways. When he drank, he allowed himself to focus on certain things and those things was drinking, fighting, and sexing. He could do two of them with the man in front, but the man obviously refused the first! So it was to the second and never the third. Graves might be into that thing(looking at Kou like that!), but Kou needed the warmth of a woman beside him.

    That was for another day.

"Do you have any suggestions? I was thinking of starting it here and now. No need to wait and there will be plenty of people to watch."

He didn't care about the damage it would do to the bar. He didn't even care of the glare the tender gave him as he openly admitted to fighting in the bar itself. He just didn't care about anything other than seeing if this man was anything more than a nobody who thought it would be fun to enter a fighting tournament! Kou hated those types of people the most. No no, he would not accept the friendship offer of the man so quickly. Graves had his respect until he broke it, but he needed to earn everything else.

If the other could feel it, he would feel a slow increase of energies surrounding the youth before him. It was nothing more than Kou releasing his own spiritual aura, although it could be considered a form of an attack if one was to be oh so jumpy.

OOC: Surpise! I didn't forget, but you know the weekend drill.

"Charming," Graves replied, the smile upon his boyish face never wavering. Such a sport, such a darling, such a catch was young Alexander Graves. Even in the face of insult he smiled...

    The shit kicker

...the villain, the scoundrel! How dare he insult Graves? How dare he?

"We couldn't have that I suppose. I'd rather not kill a man who wasn't on top of his game. It just wouldn't feel right."

Graves shrugged it off with a wider smile, such a darling.

"Do you have any suggestions? I was thinking of starting it here and now. No need to wait and there will be plenty of people to watch."

"The designated location sounds perfectly adequate to me, of course you're the senior combatant here," Graves noted to the older man. "If you're of a mind that you'd like to fight here, I'll not take issue with it. "

Much like his opponent, Graves cared little for the tavern or it's state of being. Things were built to be destroyed, that was simply the nature of it. Perhaps the only way the two differed in their viewpoints was that Graves held no inclination towards his own safety. If he lived, marvelous, if he died the collar would set to work and he would continue to suffer this miserable existence.

The poor poor boy, did no one see his pain? Did no one care?! The bastards, every last one of them! Cold eyes fell to the King Bastard, his opponent, as he began to gather energy. Unlike most children Graves had seen combat before, he wouldn't jump the gun just because the man gathered energy. Instead he followed suit, the inky darkness that was shadow magic welling up within him.

Putting some distance between himself and the target, Graves smile widened. "If you kill me, you'll be my best friend."

This fellow was an oddball; it was something that made Kou actually smile back at him. Kou was never really the kind of guy who smiled at another, but the attitude of Graves just made him do it. Maybe it was because he saw a little of himself in the boy. Kouth wasn't the type to ponder much on why he thought the way he did. All he knew was that even if this guy was as laid back as he, Kou still needed to get through him to push forward in the tournament matches. His sudden flex of aura was no mere show of power. Kou had already chosen to fight here regardless of what the youth said on the matter. It wasn't like he was going to pay for the damages. As soon as the bout was finished, Kou would seemly escape the law and find the next place of combat. That was his way of life; always on the prowl for more combat.

"If you kill me, you'll be my best friend."
"You might be the easiest friend I've made."

A small pulse of energy escaped the buffer zone of flowing energies that was contining to surround the man known as Kou. It wasn't classed as an attack as it would merely pass through the physical objects of the tavern, the people, and even Graves himself. Unknowing to the other, Kou was making a mental outlay of the surrounding areas and even Graves himself. A person's energy signature was an easy thing to trace as long as one was given the time to locate it. Most fighters didn't even realize just how important knowing it was, but Kou was different from most fighters. He wasn't going to enter a fight without being fully prepared.

Assuming Graves had nothing to disallow him from gaining access to the information, Kou would merely put it into the back of his mind and keep it for the attacks ahead. It would become of great value to him in the coming moments. Even if the man found out his ploy to trace it and somehow stopped it, Kou did get the details of the tavern and the surrounding energies, so it wasn't as if it was a waste of time. He just slid the empty cup towards the bartender and spoke to anyone who would listen.

"If you all value your lives, I would suggest leaving now."

It was his only warning towards the crowd, who seemed to be most content with heeding his advice and leaving the tavern. The tender was the only one who was brave enough to stand his post. It was his bar that would be destroyed after all. He more than likely figured he could enjoy the show and deal with the damages later. All the while, Kou removed himself from his seat and turned to face Graves as he cracked his knuckles and chuckled.

"Let's see what you got, Graves."

    Code:
    Preps: 1 1/2
    Preps used: 1/2(Energy Trace)
Summary: Kou warned the crowd to leave and attempted to scan the area and Graves for information before the fight. He would begin to draw his energies for the fight.

"Let's see what you got, Graves."

"With pleasure." The youth responded, his grin struggling to widen beyond the limitations of his lips as he put a bit more distance between himself and Kou, his agile feet finding their way backwards without hindrance from any furniture.

Graves saw little point in wasting energy to prevent Kou's trace. The collar's alone gave someone a general direction and at this point subtlety had long since been thrown out the window. Really, though, did anyone give a shit?! Graves sure as hell didn't! He was gonna be able to let loose! TAKE THAT SOCIETY!!!!!

His eyes flashed for but a moment1/2 as Graves' energies continued to gather within his lithe form. A dim glow appeared throughout Kou's body, at least from Graves' perspective, making the man's energy signature known to him.

With a flick of his hand the gunblade was drawn and the barrel released a flurry of 'bullets' in Kou's direction the ratatatatatatat most assuredly setting the tavern owner's teeth on edge.

    Spoiler:
    Preps: 1 1/2
    Activated Dragon Vision1/2
Summary: Graves puts a small distance between himself and Kou and activates his Dragon Sight (allowing him to see Energy Signatures), draws his weapon and fires.

It was the simple things in life that caused the most trouble for the unsuspecting fools. This was what set off the haves for the have nots. Naturally, when Kou was able to receive the man's patterns, he felt much better about the fight in general. Unlike common placement on a trace, Kou was not the type to use it for actual tracking to find where his targets were. Oh no, he had the mother earth at his call if he ever wanted to truly find a person, but this trace was more for an offensive style that Graves would soon find out.

Even as Graves withdrew his weapon and started to fire, Kou was on the move himself. As the bullets cleared the area towards him, Kou was leaping in the air and reaching for his own set of weapons. If the man wanted to display a bit of aerial weaponry at the start, Kou was more than glad to show him that he had a few tricks up his sleeve. When his feet hit the wooden surface of a high beam, the youth quickly released a handful of throwing knives straight for Graves. Unknown to the common folks, the knives seemed to flow with energy channeled from Kou as he grasped the weapons for the split second. The three knives were aimed at the center chest and either shoulder blade of the man.

A simple attack to the common eye that appeared to simply attempt to stop Graves from stopping his own attack, but it was more of a means to see just how skillful and aware the man truly was. If and when Graves dodged the weapons, he would soon find them turning on a dim and seeming to act as mini homing missiles that followed the man no matter how much he attempted to flee them. Naturally this was not a long term attack, but if it kept Graves' attention long enough, Kou's would use it to follow up with another attack.

Of course, Kou could just as easily dodge the energy bullets if Graves chose to flee and fire at the same time. Running and gunning was what suited the man in red best anyways. He chose to remain in motion as he threw the weapons and ran along the high beam towards the man below him. If Graves did not attack, he would begin to gather energy, but if the man chose to try and attack and defend, Kou was more than willing to offer the same method of fighting.

Preps: 1 prep( 1 1/2 if not attacked)
Uses: Energy Lock 1/2 preps used
Summary: Kou used Energy Trace to perform Energy Lock to use his attacks to follow Graves for a given amount of time. Kou would use the high ground of the high beams to run towards Graves and dodge any bullets that the man fired if he chose to.
OOC: Feel free to use the random attacks. I don't really care where they hit or if they hit at all. <3

His opponent was a tricky one, the clever bastard...Graves respected sneaky people, but he HATED this man! Oh how he hated-LOVED him! Nothing was as exhilarating as a fight and few people truly gave Graves a chance to shimmer and shine like the star he was. Yes, he loved this man for it! Hated too, though. That couldn't be forgotten!

And such a slippery little fuck this man was! Graves' shots fired and already the man was on the move. Graves, like many combatants, did not enjoy fighting from a single position. Fighting on the move was imperative for an assassin. Standing your ground typically gave other opponents the chance to intervene...and Graves didn't like uninvited guests sipping from his punch. No sir, his punch was only for his friends and sweet Zhengyi that shit packed a wallop. Naturally, Graves did not stand by and let the knives pierce his flesh...

Why not? You liked it when mother did it, didn't you darling?

    "SHUT UP!"

The knives, despite missing their initial mark (Graves never understood why they chose that name...Mark sounded like a dreadfully boring person), did not halt. As Graves moved so too did the knives, but the sneaky fuck knives would not have their day in Graves!

Graves utilized his agility like a poet manipulated words, stepping atop chairs and moving across overturned tables without any sign of discomfort or unbalance. Over a chair and behind an overturned table, Graves let the wooden construct take the force of Kou's knives as the dark energy washed over his form 1. With the armor present Graves, at the very least, felt more comfortable about the closed in area.

Instead of firing another volley, Graves would grant Kou a reprieve long enough for the gun to reshape into a blade.1/2 Despite his newfound comfort with the area, Graves was currently located very near to a window, in the event that he desired wide open spaces a leap out of the window was not out of the question.

Pending Kou's actions, Graves began to gather energy.

    Spoiler:

    Preps: 1
Used: 1] Mage Armor 1/2 Blade Mode

SummaryGraves fired his weapon and moved away from the bar, towards the entrance and window, overturning a table in the process, which the homing knives would have likely (?) slammed into it. Meanwhile, Mage Armor takes effect and Graves' gunblade alters it's form. Graves gathers energy.

It was almost as if the man had seen the future when he started the attack!!! Everything that needed to happen did and he didn't even have to do anything!!! Graves had him covered in that part. When the man started to flee the tracking knives, it only brought a smile to the face of Kou. That small fact would give the man plenty of time to gather the required energies to perform the actions he wanted to do in the first place. Now that was all good, but it seemed Graves was in a giving mood!!! Instead of keeping his actions of fleeing the knives, he thought it was wise to try and stop them. There was no reason to fault his actions when he didn't know what the knives true method was, but if he had known, he would know that this was a very big mistake.

    BOOM.

That was the sound that was made when Graves flipped the table and tried to hide behind it to stop the knives. What he didn't know was the knives had a built in coding to explode on impact. Using the very energies that was used to follow Graves, the energies quickly reformed to produce the secondary attack of the knives. The explosion wasn't that big, but it was enough to blow off a limb if the knives had found their 'mark'. Since they only found the surface of a wooden table, the force of the blast would more than likely blow the table up and knock Graves off his feet and send him sliding across the floor towards the wall(under the very window he was eyeing on jumping out) until he slammed into it. Of course, if the man found his bearings, he could ecaspe the blast with only a bit of ringing in his ears and some pieces of wood that might have blown into him. Graves might even be able to get off his armor before the blast and save himself the trouble, but even if that happened, it will merely destroy the armor before it stopped the next actions by Kou!

As the explosion happened, Kou found himself stopped his own run and turning to unleash the attack he prepared moments ago. The very wind became his ally as he sought to harm the man for hating him so much!!! In what seemed like an instant, a gust of wind magically appeared out of thin air(hehe..get it? air appearing out of air) to form a jet stream aimed to slam into the chest of the man known as Graves. With the width of three feet and the length of six, the mini jet stream was meant to press the man against the wall and keep him locked there against his will. He might experience brusing due to the force of the slam and even more pain from the constant pressure against his body, but this attack was more of a statement than an actual attack. Kou was the type of guy to mess around a bit before he got serious in a fight. The first two or three moves was always just to piss the opponent off.

Hopefully he was going a good job! Kou just stood there for a moment and watched the series of actions unfold before his very eyes as he continued to gather energies to fully express how much he enjoyed to mess with his oppoent. If he got the man good enough, he might even continue to stall with his own victory. In his mind, Kou knew he was already the winner of the fight. He was just that much better!!! In his own eyes anyways, but these types of tactics never caused him to lose a fight so there wasn't a reason to change it anytime soon.

Could Graves show him the errors of his ways? Or was he just another fly on the wall.

    Code:
    Preps: 1 1/2
Uses: Energy Explosion(reformed prep), Gale Stream 1 prep
Summary: The knives showned the underling attack in which they explode on contact. While Graves was dealing with said actions, Kou produced a wind based attack to press Graves against the wall. Kou merely watched as he continued to gather energy to display his own sick sense of fighting style.
OOC: My next post might taken awhile as I told you, so hopefully it isn't going to hold things up that long.

The armor proved sturdy enough to prevent the explosive knives and subsequent debris from piercing his flesh, but would indeed send Graves reeling backwards...only to be driven to the wall by a gust of extraordinarily powerful wind. Oh the shame! Oh the terror! Oh THE HUMANITY! OH THE TRICKERY! OH THE GRAVES!

Yes, the Graves would be having none of this. While the burst of wind managed to hit his chest, it didn't stop the magnificent youth from using his arms. Other, lesser thirteen year old youths, might have been in agonizing pain, but that sweet sweet boy felt nothing...or rather felt it and found it to be not at all as terrible as one might originally think. This was in no way a jibe at Kou's power, but rather a testament to the horrendous torture the harrowing hero, that was Graves, had endured as the Desecrater Messiah. Being the messiah sounded all well and good on paper, but in actuality it was much more work than folks were willing to realize. In that respect, Graves sympathized with Odin H--HELL NO HE DID NOT! THERE WAS NO SYMPATHY! GRAVES WAS A DARLING! ODIN WAS A BASTARD! AND KOU! KOU! KOU! KOU! KOU by default was a bastard for daring to trick Graves! The only friend that was allow to be tricky was Graves, clearly Kou had not received the memo.

The question was, what was Graves to do now? It was becoming evident that his opponent was skilled in energy manipulation of some sort, in order to perform such a trick with the knives, and Graves was able to deduce that the man also had the ability to manipulate, at least, the element of wind.

Either way, remaining in closed quarters would not prove to be a smart move for the youth.

Utilizing the gathered energy, Graves dismissed the wind with a clench of his fist1 and made the inconsiderable leap out of the window. Thanks to Kou's exploding knives the window was not difficult to break through, and Grave's sturdy coat protected him from minor cuts and scrapes from the glass.

Out in the street, the youth was on the move, putting some distance between himself and the inn, drawing in massive amounts of energy.

Graves was proving to be interesting to say the least. Kou was used to people seeing his skill in surprise attacks and running for the hills. Graves just ran for the window; which wasn't as bad as the hills, but it was a change of pace. Regardless of the power of the wind attack, Graves seemed to be able to handle himself pretty good with the damage he should have received. This alone told a many a stories to Kou, but it told the best story in the fact that Kou might need to take things more seriously. When the man dispelled the attack and ran from the tavern, Kou just sighed.

"I wish this was an open field. All these buildings makes it a pain."

Naturally he was referring to the fact that his tracing attacks meant nothing if fucking buildings were in the way. Kou would have had to launch an attack big enough to blow up a few city blocks if he wanted to use the skill now. It was tempting but something in his head told him not to use those powers here. This was just a small power tournament. So the youth found himself leaping from the ceiling to the floor and to the door. Oddly enough, he didn't destroy the tavern as much as he assumed he would. Kou just nodded to the bartender and took to the roof in search of Graves.

As he used the energy tracking to find him, Kou focused on his own energies to prepare an attack when he felt like going after Graves. In all honesty, Kou was a bit curious what Graves could do, so even when he found him with his tracking, he wouldn't go get him. As long he knew when Graves was coming, everything would be peachy.

    Maybe.

The only thing set in stone was the winds started to pick up in the area. A howling sound echoed the alleys of the buildings like a pack of hungry wolves. Kou was obviously summoning something pretty epic to greet Graves when the boy was ready to be a man.

    Preps: 2
    Uses: energy track
Summary: Kou went outside and on a nearby building to locate Graves as he summoned energy.
