I read "Writer's Digest" and a few of the other such magazines. They have interview with published writers. There is a consistent theme among those who make it: writing, like anything else, (except perhaps my dream of Heidi Klum leaving Seal for me) is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Don't worry about the odds, because yes it's true, 99% of the people here won't make it into print through traditional publishing. Don't worry about that: focus on getting yourself into the other 1%. Believe you are in that 1%. Because when it comes time to having your manuscript in a slush pile, you at-that-second have a 50%/50% shot of either being accepted or rejected.

I've only had a chance to skim the post so far it but it all looks pretty solid, always good to get out more info about the publishing world.

I just wanted to add for the board's resources that this stuff is actually what I'm going to school for right now, so if anyone ever has any questions feel free to shoot me a PM.
