Name: Grimarre {GREEM-ARE-AY}

They thrive in times of war and, although they are known to unite when someone threatens the people as a whole, they typically squabble amongst themselves. There are an absurd number of clans amongst the Grimarre. As many as 10-20 clans may operate under the blanket of an even bigger clan, with each clan holding different ideals. They are a warrior people and as such travel and conquer, many of Mt. Dasra’s indigenous people may blame the Grimarre for their extinction.

  • It is better to die old with many sons .
  • It is best that the son slay the father, when facing impending death.
  • It is best that the wife slay the husband, when facing impending death.
  • A man may live on through his sons and a woman through her daughters.
  • Deformed children must be devoured by the mother after birth. In this way they may be reborn and made less weak.
  • If raping someone in front of another Grimarre it is considered impolite not to extend an invitation.

Hierarchy: Each Clan has a Chief and each Chief has a Chosen. The Chosen is a clan’s greatest combatant and is selected because he idealizes that clan’s personal code. There is one amongst all the Grimarre who is heralded as the greatest warrior and he is simply referred to as Grimarre. In matters of war, his will is absolute.
Justice: Simple. He who is strongest is always right. Should the situation arise where two Grimmare disagree they will fight to determine who’s answer in best.

Racial Traits
Longevity:100-150 yrs (assuming they aren’t killed first)
Appearance: A Grimarre’s hair is considered a sign of his virility. The Grimmare have lupine ears and their eye color tends to be of varying colors. Grimmarre prefer wearing bright colors to show the enemy where they are located. Their equipment is well kept and finely crafted. An adult male Grimmore is roughly 6’5 feet tall and weighs about 275 pounds. Females vary from 6’0 to 6’3.
Language: The language the Grimarre speak varies slightly amongst the clans, but all are discernable to one another.
Magic: Most Grimarre do not practice offensive magic. A majority of their spell casting is done by shamans who boost the Grimarre’s already staggering physical abilities. Although it’s not unheard of for a few Grimarre to learn the arcane arts, their stubborn disposition typically makes it an uphill battle as many view reading as a waste of time.
Physical Stats: Grimmare hide is typically very leathery and difficult to slash. Most Grimarre weaponry are designed to pierce the opponent rather than slash, this alone hints that the Grimarre are suscebtible to a stabbity death. Their bones are very sturdy, it is considered an extreme honor to be able to break a Grimarre’s bone and will earn one immediate recognition. Most Grimarre vary in speed, strength and durability. A typical Grimarre warrior is capable of ripping a grown man in two and throwing a small horse across a small river. (Fun Fact: The amount of dead horses the Grimarre stacked up before they realized horses could swim was staggering.)The Grimarre boast that they can fight night and day and never tire, whether this is true or not has yet to be seen. (Fun Fact: There is no written account of any nation going to war with the Grimarre, other than the Grimarre!)
