Update: Fedir's family was found murdered, the apartment completely full of sand. Still no whereabouts on Fedir himself.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"What a beautiful hourglass."
Sand crusted hands, sun burnt like the rest of his body reached outwards, grasping the object and pulling it close. Closing his eyes, knees shifting unevenly in the desert below him, he'd fall backwards, remembering his struggle so far.
Cut off from any type of population and stranded, lost, in the desert, Fedir was quite out of his element. His partner and guide had died. He felt completely to blame, as it was his terrible luck that had rubbed off on him, and gotten him killed. Regretfully, Fedir had done what he must to live. He had to eat him. Continuing with his luck, however, he became terribly ill, and had done all he could to find any shelter at all. He had. A stone outcropping that did little to deflect the suns' beams. Fedir was trained for urban, for forests For water. This This was different. Climbing into the rocks he did his best to dig a spot to lay, and there it had been. A beautiful shining blue hourglass, with a particularly strong mana seeping slowly from the top to the bottom. An endless amount, in fact. It seemed as if it never gained nor lost any, but instead was a waterfall of magic that he could do very little to stop staring at. He had grasped it, and crawled in, settling in to die. His stomach pulsed and he vomited, nothing but bile so hot it steamed.
"Do you wish to die?"
Startled, Fedir opened his eyes and looked into the hourglass. 'I must be going crazy', he thought to himself. But, despite his inkling of craziness, he responded.
"No No, I don't."
"Then you shall not. The sun can give as it takes, and today it shall. But you, Fedir, will no longer be who you are."
Fedir's eyes glazed over, his hands white - knuckle gripping the hourglass, and as he vomited just once more, he slumped down. From the rocks they came, beetles and insects, scorpions, spiders, and they circled him. They did not fight nor attack his body, but instead they watched. Soon, they were joined by snakes, and the whisperings of outsiders. What arose a few days later was not Fedir. Not even the will or consciousness of the man who had died in the desert, alone. But instead, a terrible monster. The hourglass his power, and his weakness.

Fedir
The Monster
" It is said, he comes when he is called. I don't know much about that, but I know if you can find out his ole' name, there's something about it. There's something about you havin' that knowledge that brings him to you. Even before then, he lurks. Copying the looks of others around him, observing, plotting. It is he who whispers to you when your luck is at its worse, and the one who kills the third after two have died. Even when he is mimicking others, he is able to be seen. That hourglass.. He needs it. Without it, he goes back to his old self, whoever that is. 'Least, that's what I've heard. A basic description? Sure, I can do my best"
Height: Big or little, it don' matter.
Weight: HA!
"Well, shit It's the most I have for ya. I've seen him go through walls and straight'n'up disappear. I've seen him kill one of those magicky-types, he ate'em. And it made the most awful sound. It was like a hunting howl. It was terrible. Shootin' and slashin' em doesn't do a whole lot, but as for fightin' em I don't have any advice for ya. Only reason I'm still around is that I'm a coward, ya'see. But you should take care of 'em, I don't think he'll stop killin'."
Abilities:
Dissipation: Fedir, in all of his sandy-goodness, is a particularly hard foe to connect with. It's nigh impossible, minus the glaring weak spot of the hourglass*. It is this ability he uses to move through small places and flee from situations that may otherwise destroy him.
Mirage: After taking(or avoiding) what would be a normally fatal blow, Fedir can induce a mirage depicting his untimely death, to confuse foes.
Sandstorm: It obscures vision, and reduces damage from projectiles attempting to harm Fedir or the Hourglass, as it forms barriers to attempt to deflect them, or slow them down.
Shapeshifting: Fedir's body is constantly moving, and does quite well becoming other shapes and horrors.
Pestilence: By wounding himself, Fedir can summon a massive amount of poisonous insects and scorpions, including spiders, disease-ridden mosquitoes, etc.
Ancient Hunger: Fedir can detect mana-rich equipment, individuals, and areas.
Sandbolt: Focuses his mastery over sand to release a bolt of extremely hot, fast traveling sand, with a solid mana core to help penetrate defenses.
Splinter: Fedir can create a copy of himself, that mimics his every move. However, it is particularly weak. The only advantage is his ability to swap places with it, once. After he does, the copy dissipates.
Barrier: Whips up a wall of sand held together by his will, to obscure sight or attempt to weaken projectiles. The harder he concentrates, the stronger it becomes.
Equipment:
Nullblade///
Is an ancient blade that is obviously sentient. It has a terrible, irritated eye upon the hilt that blinks and moves, and a jagged blade made of twisted bone and rare ore. Along the edge are decaying, sharp, jagged teeth that reek quite terribly, and pass along some very serious illnesses upon wounding.(Attempts to) Absorb magic if placed in said magics' path, and each strike against a magic user slightly slows their thoughts and movements.
Everflowing Hourglass////
Is the only thing that keeps the sandman going, and keeps Fedir Duerr trapped inside. It also enables Fedir, the monster to use all of his powers and to grow stronger the more magic users he devours, which is the only way he gains new powers.
Tyrande, his robes.////
Helps absorb magic, and does a lot as far as protecting the hourglass goes. It also allows him to change his form and sustain it, to blend in with other regular beings. Besides that, it helps to hide his outsider-status from those who seek him out.
