    Yori

    Name: Sensei Yori

Age: 860 (Appears as a man in his 70's)

History: Little is known of the man called Yori before his claim to fame when he fought in the Great Samurai War, in which he led a force of highly skilled warriors who had each been personally trained by him, and each who came out of the war alive. From then on Yori was known as the greatest samurai master of them all, for whoever trained these mighty heros should be honored above all. After the war Yori settled down and constructed a temple with his fellow samurai, and for many years Yori and his fellow masters trained several generations until Yori himself became old and gray, but he still kept that fierce strength and skill that he had in his youth, the way he moved was astounding for a man his age.

One day Yori was taking a walk outside of the temple when he spotted a boy running in his direction, being chased by bandits. The boy passed out from exhaustion before he had even reached the gate, the bandits advanced but they didn't get far before they were all struck down by arrows from the temple walls.

After hearing the boy's story when he awoke, Yori took pity on him, thinking that the darkness he sensed in the young man's heart was just a normal reaction to his mother's senseless death. Yori soon learned that he was wrong, the boy's anger was getting worse with age, and one day he killed a fellow student in a spar. Yori had no choice but to stop his training and expel him from the temple.

Seeking to preserve the samurai ways into future generations, Yori and the rest of the temple's most promising students and the masters went underneath the temple, where the Fountain of Youth was secretly kept. After everyone had drank of the fountain, Yori caused the cave roof to collapse, destroying the fountain forever. His fellow samurai were dumbfounded, but Yori explained that evil forces would arise one day and they would certainly seek the power of the fountain.

Years passed, and soon the world came to forget the great samurai when it came to present day. But they still existed in secret.

Appearance: Yori is an elderly man with a long white beard and white hair tied back in a bun. He normally wears a blue robe and sandals when he is not engaging in battle. When he is however, he wears complete samurai armor that is dark green. He never ages due to drinking of the Fountain of Youth.

Personality: Kind and wise to his allies, fierce and horrifyingly strong to his opponents, Yori is not one to be crossed. His innocent sweet old man routine is mainly an act, and his allies know that he can be terrifying if he wants to be. Yori has a soft spot for children, which is why he so quickly took Shin'Ichi in as his apprentice, a mistake he would regret for the rest of his life.

    Powers:

Master Samurai: Yori is a master of the samurai way, he has passed down his knowledge to several generations and his skill hasn't faltered one bit in his old age.

Vision: Yori is able to sense the life force of those he shares a close bond with. He is also able to sense what is in people's hearts, this was how he sensed the darkness in young Shin's heart.
Chi Control: Yori has mastered the art of chi control, he harnesses his own aura (which is gold) in the form of energy in his fingertips. For example: Yori holds the two first fingers of his right hand up together and thrusts them forward, this would result in a shockwave type effect being sent hurtling towards his opponent. Another instance of this is he can harness the power at the very tips of his fingers to make slashes through the air, and even shoot blasts from his hands! Chi Control was an ability that Yori could never manage to teach Shin, no matter how hard the boy tried.
Eternal Youth (NOT Eternal Life): Due to Yori drinking of the Fountain of Youth, he cannot die from old age, but he can be killed by regular means.

    Weapons:

Yari: A long spear like weapon that Yori always carries on his back as a secondary weapon, he is extremely good and acrobatic with it. (Shin'Ichi picked up his liking for the Yari as a secondary weapon from his master of course.)

Katana: A master swordsman, Yori keeps this blade polished and sharp as his main weapon in a battle.

Tanto: Yori uses this small knife as a last ditch weapon when he's lost every other option and has to fight close quarters or it can be thrown like a kunai if there is a weapon.
