Move-In Day [Obselete]

Relief once again course through her when he didn't seem daunted by the watching eyes and whispering voices, standing slowly she also pushed in her chair just as she had been taught at home when getting up from a table and no one was there to wait on her. She pondered for a moment just returning to her room since after all aside from him so far everyone else seemed intent on keeping their distance, she did rationalize however that this was her first day and that over time people might be more understanding.. didn't mean they had to be so distant.

"It might be best if I just return to my room, the cafeteria is likely to be crowded and the last thing I want is to create a scene on my first day. Then again I could wait for you outside or maybe outside your room so we could talk more after?" She said sounding a little hopeful, she wanted to talk more with him and answer more of his questions.

The whispers continued around them but she didn't pay them much attention anymore, she found a small well of courage beginning to spark inside of her as the clouds that had been shrouding her in darkness seemed to be lifting. Even though they didn't share any classes she was happy to have met Nion, still she hoped that their time together didn't end up costing him in the long run. Then again he might not be interested in being around her once his questions were answered, maybe she would have to make it harder for him to get all the answers so that he would hang around longer.

Nion was happy, it seemed as if Rika had warmed up to him. There was still more he wanted to know, but the pang that was in his stomach wouldn't cease. A Human Construct. How would it be to be free of the obligations of life: eating, drinking, sleeping. But yet, he figured there was more to it than he initially thought. He wanted to know her on a more personal level, her social life, her hobbies, interests, and so forth. He would have to bide his time and let his initial thoughts organize themselves. It might be too much, too soon. He had to be wary of his words.

"Yeah, that would be fine. I wouldn't wanna hold you up though. Here." He scribbled down his dorm room and his room number on a piece of paper and handed it to her.

"I shouldn't be too long, just a quick bite and I'll be fine for the rest of the day. It was nice meeting you, Rika. See you later." He shook her hand with a firm grip and quickly headed off, avoiding the stares from the other students.

All in all, it was a good day. He got some work done for class tomorrow and he met a new friend.

She returned his handshake as her first genuine smile crept onto her face, the fact that he was so eager to see her again was heartening and she found herself greatly looking forward to their next meeting. She watched him go as a small part of her longed to know the pains he was feeling right now, eating was yet another unnecessary thing that simply served to continually remind her of what she was missing. Deciding to pick out a book before leaving Rika made her way to her preferred browsing section, fantasy was her prefer genre and if it had a touch of romance it was even better. Picking out a few that looked interesting she proceeded to check them out as well as a few books on her subjects so she would have something to study, as she headed for the doors she had the oddest feeling she was being watched. Looking around she spotted a few of the same people watching her from the floor above, sighing quietly to herself she headed for the door.. as the door closed behind her however a shadow loomed over the closing door it's owner watching her through the window.

After reading the note carefully Rika realized that Nion was in the same room as she was, she felt so happy for a moment she thought she might die.. which after thinking about it made no sense. On her way back she found herself unable to stop smiling, what were the odds of them being both in the same room and meeting each other outside of the library. Very unlikely she concluded, either it was a stroke of good luck or something was not right. She hated to doubt him but she couldn't shake the feeling that things were going a little too well, in the end she arrived back at their room and set down her small collection of books beside her bed picking the top one up she lay down on her bed and got comfortable.. which was funny since comfort was another thing she couldn't really feel.
