"That smell....so familiar. Where am I?"

The world slowly came into view, though clouded by a haze of hellfire and twisted metal. Despite the obstacles which seemed hellbent on obscuring the world around it, the being managed to make out several trees beyond the raging orange flames. Yet something was off....something that had never been observed before. The world was turned upside down. Truly something that was not to occur often, and were the situation a lighter one it might even appear humorous. This was not the case however, and as the entity slowly attempted to upright itself it found the problem.

    "I see...."

It appeared that the arrival had torn the being asunder. Various portions of its' armor lay scattered about in a large crater that now scarred the landscape. A problem indeed, but not one that could not be fixed in a short period of time. In an attempt to organize these events the being focused its' mental energy. For several seconds nothing seemed to happen. But something did happen, and it did so all at once. As if taken by several invisible hands and placed together perfectly, the armor pieces lifted and flew into a humanoid shape that was now standing upright. Flame burst from betwixt the segments and appeared to pull and link the portions together. It was here that the physical appearance of the creature could be truly seen.

Standing at a full height of six feet and four inches, the being was nothing more than a suit of armor filled by an inhabitant that seemed to be made of flame. His armor formed of a material known as Titanite, and inside had been decorated by all manner of engravings. Enchantments, Runes, so many various defenses to protect the armor from being easily destroyed. The armor itself was very humanoid in appearance, save for the two horns that protruded from the top left and right of the helm before going straight upwards towards the sky for a good foot or so. As if a flaming suit of armor were not enough, the most striking feature would certainly draw the most attention. This would be the eye socket, an area that had been designed to allow sight. Behind this area was a writhing mass of flame, and yet within this flame were two balls of white fire. Eyes perhaps, or maybe this was just a way to appear more human. Whatever the reason was the fact still remained that looking into the eyes would seem to make your body grow cold. Ironic.

Adding the finishing touches, the suit of armor drew in its' blade and shield. A typical looking longsword, save for the few engravings upon the blade. The shield too had engravings upon it yet looked typical as well. Neither had any elaborate embellishments upon them, as they were weapons of war rather than a decoration. Now, with all of the being assembled it turned its focus towards more important issues.

"I went through the portal....awoke here. Judging by the state of the forest and my own body I fell from the sky. The forest is burning down and that will take care of any inhabitants. I should leave towards the most inhabited location."

With a rough plan formulated in the consciousness of the entity it began to stir. Slowly one heavy metallic foot lurched forward and fell upon the charred soil below. Then the other limb followed suit, and soon the armor walked as naturally as any normal human being would. With a giant leap it came from within the crater that had been an entire two feet above its' head. It landed and then slowly began to walk forward with its' sword and shield in hand. It knew not where it was going, yet it could sense faint traces of life far in the distance. It was a feeling that humanity gave off, yet this was a different feeling than it was accustomed to. In the end it mattered not, as the outcome would be the same. Though what this outcome was, only the entity would know. And with that it slowly disappeared within the flame that engulfed the once mighty behemoths that sprang up from the flesh of Gaia.

An assassin of sorts was stalking it, careful not to be seen and not to be heard. It followed with the silence of nothingness, and with a shadow so faint it almost never existed. The being's existance was so vague that it seemed to be ignored by the fires, the flames licking up it's body yet nothing was there to burn. It could barely be seen, as the only thing for the untrained eye to see was a faint shape like that of a winged humanoid. It had a seemingly human body, but on it's back were two charcoal grey, feathered wings that emitted an invisible aura of sadness and hardship. It eventually took flight when it wished to make it's presence known, and it's semi-solid body became visible and tangible. It appeared as a male human, the wings on it's back folded neatly. It wore no shirt, just a tattered pair of alabaster pants, a grey belt and a grey cloth mask that covered it's mouth. He had messy black hair and quite pallid skin, along with a look in his red eyes that meant he was ready to kill...

It didn't speak, and didn't make a sound as it stared down the being, glaring with cold yet firey eyes. It didn't appear to feel any fear, nor shiver at the sight of the flaming eyes. It just stood there, waiting for an action so that it could make a reaction.

Asper trudged up the hill, "What was that noise?" he thought to himself. "It didn't seem natural." As he walked along he got a bad feeling in his stomach, a feeling that it was something of great evil something of importance. He continued up the hill as the feeling got worse and worse, something wasn't right, there was something seriously wrong. Asper slowly pulled his sword out of the sheath on his armor, the blade reflecting the red crosses on his chest plate. He got to the top of the hill and saw a mysterious figure walking. It certainly didn't look big enough to make that crater. He was about to cry out when he realized that who he was looking at wasn't from the crater, it was following something. Asper sprinted and got just behind the stalker to see what he was looking at. Asper craned his neck and got a good look, his jaw dropped.

The...thing, was at least six feet tall and full of fury, it carried a gigantic longsword and had strange carvings etched into it's ginormous armor. Its actual body seemed to be covered in...flame? Asper could only guess. As it trudged along the burnt forest floor, Asper readied his sword, it was certainly a creature of darkness he was supposed to kill or convert creatures of darkness but the thing certainly didn't look like it was in the mood for hearing the good word of Jesus Christ.

He watched the two, glaring down at the both of them. It didn't like company, obviously. He swooped down with speed that rivaled that of lightning and attempted to leave a large gash on the firey one's armour, then attempted to do the same with the knight. It didn't carry a weapon at all as it did this, so it seemed to be using it's wings to strike. It felt as though the wings were as hard as iron, yet light as air. The strange being looked down to see if he had landed a hit on either of them. He was powerful, but he was fueled by blind fury, so his accuracy wasn't always the best...

Asper rolled backwards, bringing his sword up to strike as he did so. Fortunately, his attacker missed his strike and Asper could think. Asper dodged back and didn't know who to attack. He finally decided on the fiery one seeing as he looked the most evil. Before Asper attacked him, however, he summoned a ball of holy light and shot it at his winged attacker. Then, he ran in and struck at the fiery one with a mighty blow, summoning all his strength. Asper rarely missed.

The winged man appeared frightened at the sight of the light, and made a run, er, flew for it. He hated light, as it only reminded him of his horrible past...

He was eventually caught by the light, and plummeted to the ground, unconscious.

Asper walked over to the fallen figure looking him over, the winged beast's eyes were glazed over and he was barely breathing. Obviously, this creature was in need of help. Asper put away his sword and started carrying the figure up the hill, he could deal with the other creature later. As Asper trudged up the hill, he looked the character over again. He looked hurt, almost pained. Asper couldn't help but feel pity for him, he was a man of god not a heartless fiend. Asper brought him back to the church and prepared a room for him. He then laid the injured beast on the bed and prepared some water for him before he woke up. Although, to make sure he didn't try anything Asper hooked a ball and chain to the creatures leg. Asper would tend to this creature, then defeat the other one.

He eventually woke up, and snarled, curling up in a protective ball. He was appaled at the church he had been brought to, and when Asper had come back into the room, he was hiding in the corner, a dark, deadly look in his eye...

He hated churches. He hated anything holy. When he saw the water, he didn't dare drink it, thirsty as he was, for he thought it could have been holy water. He had been rejected by the light once, and he wouldn't go back. He glared at the one across the room from him, awaiting Asper's next move. He supposed he should let Asper know of the current situation, so he let his devil's tail loose and wrapped the grey appendage around himself. His teeth sharpened into fangs, and his nails became thicker and pointed. His messy black hair had two small nubs, presumably horns, poking through and his facial mask was torn and had been ripped off.

Asper saw when the beast awakened, it was snarling at him and it seemed to grow sharper fangs and longer claws right before his very eyes! Asper quickly pulled out his sword and raised it warily. This beast would not get the best of him! Asper grabbed some holy water and flicked the beast with it, hoping to draw a reaction. After he did that, he walked forward towards it. There was something in its eyes. Desperation perhaps? No...that wasn't it, it was hate. Pure and simple. Asper saw hate in the foul things eyes, hate for the church, hate for the light, hate for god and everything holy. It was pure darkness, and Asper didn't have time to mess with it. He drew his sword, raised it up, and prepared for the final blow to end this things horrilbe, tortured, life.

It screached horridly as it was flicked with holy water. It wrapped itself in it's grey wings, waiting for the final blow and waiting for it's untimely death. The creature hated everything, but who could blame it? If it had feathery wings, it couldn't have been all bad. Feathery wings were the sign of an angel, be they white, grey or even black. For all Asper knew, this could be a rejected angel. Rejected by god. Rejected by light. Rejected for some sort of sin or misunderstanding. It could have been merely misunderstood is all, but with that fierce look in it's wild eyes, it was hard to tell. But now that it was wrapped in it's wings, you couldn't see the eyes at all. Just the feeling of a faint aura of mourning and hate.

"I suggest you don't do that..."

Syl said to the Knight. He had seen everything, silently waiting for the actions of both newcomers within the church that he had chosen to rest in. They need no know I'm not religious to let me enter and rest... were his thoughts when he entered the church last night. Plus, they don't charge a thing...

He was roused from his long slumber by two newcomers.. A knight in arms, dragging in what looked like a ball of feathers...

"I'd ask your name, good sir, but it would be in bad taste not to give mine first.. Syl, Sylinth Snow.." Syl stood, his gray cloak creased from where he had slept on the folds. Grasping his staff, he took a step forward, facing the two strangers. Planting his feet firmly on the ground, and holding his elderwood staff in a firm grip, he stood ready.

He heard the new voice and ceased his quivering from the holy water's searing touch. The beast didn't dare look at anyone. It was ashamed enough to even be brought to a church against his will. He promised himself, on that day when he fell to earth...that he would never, ever, return to the light.

Every waking moment images flashed through his mind. Of an angel chained to a wooden post. Of the coming dawn bringing the possible death of this disgraced being. Of him freeing this nameless angel and having the punishment three-fold. He remembered falling. He couldn't feel his wings, watching as they turned from white to grey. He couldn't feel anything, except that he was falling at a speed that could kill something due to the momentum he was gaining. He remembered hitting the ground hard, breaking some ribs and yet still living. His bones were still incredibly strong, and his body was still somewhat godlike. But now he had the ability to suffer pain and agony. And as he walked the earth, sadness turned to hatred and jealousy. He killed whatever small creatures crossed his path, not caring if they had a family or any relevance to this world's survival.

Syl turned his attention to what he had deemed earlier to be a ball of fur.

Magnificent... such beauty hidden in such disgrace... "You need not fear me, fallen one" If I had a summon like that... Shifting his gaze to the Knight and back to the Winged One, Syl moved another step forward, his gray cloak swaying fluidly, towards the cowering Fallen. "Raise your eyes, look into mine... tell me what color you see..." A simple enough task, perhaps I shall see if this one is more than he appears

He refused to cooperate. He lunged at the one who called himself Syl, and left a deep, bloody gash on the man's cheek. He snarled at the man and attempted to fly away, only to be dragged down again by the ball and chain. He was like a bird in a cage, keeping aloft using his wings but unable to go far on account of the iron that bound him to the floor. What is this earthly bond!? Why can I not escape it!? He pondered as he looked at the chains. Normally, since he still retained his godly strength, he would have been able to break such chains. But he assumed his presence in the church had severely weakened him, and his assumptions were correct. He was furious with the both of them. Furious with Asper that he had dared to bring him to this wretched church, and the other one for daring to approuch him...

Syl took a step back, blinking in disbelief, Damn that was fast! The hell's wrong with this one?! "I see you aren't that friendly after all.. huh." Syl touched his cheek where the Fallen One had struck him, warm blood licked his fingers as he composed himself..

Raising his Staff, He shouted "Spirit of the Ebony Seal! I command you enter this realm!" after speaking the command, he planted the sharpened point of his staff into the marble tiles of the church. And immediately smoke erupted forth from the black staff. A few seconds later, a large, swirling mass of black smoke completely engulfed the staff along with the better part of Syl's arm...

"Is that how you treat sympathy? with violence? tch... And here I thought there was more to you than Fury and Disgrace. I guess I was wrong..." Turning to the Knight "Do what you will, Knight, but know this, your god is not perfect, as nothing in this world is. Know that whatever has disgraced this Fallen One might not be so condemning as you think"

release him, if you can... Syl adressed the smoke as he lifted his staff, and the swirling mass of black smoke swiftly and silently moved toward the ball and chain binding the winged one. A sharp, ear-splitting noise erupted from the chains, like the sound of metal grating against metal, causing Syl to wince. A few seconds pass (which seemed like eternity due to the noise) until there was a distinct 'clink' of metal against marble. The smoke moved back to engulf Syl's staff once again... and where it had attached itself to the chains that bound the Fallen One, the links were cut clean though.

Syl liked his blood-stained lips as he observed what the newly free'd fallen would do..

Shadow, be alert, he moves a step towards me, shadowmeld... and do it quickly, If I get a face-full of those claws, I'd have to shadowmeld permanently... Syl ordered his summon mentally as his eyes moved back and forth between the knight and the fallen one...
