What the fuck. That was all he could think of as waves of pain rolled around in his mind. What the hell happened. The air smelled different. He wasn't in his basement anymore. Functions check, go. He wiggled his fingers, one firmly grasping his staff. He still had that. He wiggled his toes, moved his legs and arms a bit. Everything seemed to be working. He opened his eyes and everything made a sort of half sense.
The sky above him was beautiful and blue with a spotting of clouds. The wind gently rolled across the plain where he was laying on his back. How did he end up on his back? Why did everything feel wrong... He reached his mind out through his mask to connect to his home, and felt nothing. There was no longer a connection. Not static or fuzz, simply nothing. This was very alarming to him. It could only mean that it had been destroyed... or he was somewhere that he couldn't reach out to it. What in the hell. This was frustrating.
Did this mean the experiment worked? He sat up, rubbed his head, and let his normal glamor fall into place, taking on the appearance of a stooped old man wearing red robes with the cliche wizards hat. He pulled himself up ever so slowly, the pain in this old mans back obvious. He reached into his staff and checked... Yes, his crystals were still charged, and Akujiki still hungered.
He reached into his sleeves, hands shaking. Check, his bag of tricks was still there. He could feel the little shrunken statuettes of his Golems and the little representation that would awaken Peldora and bring her back to size. He still had his pouches of powders and various other small materials... So be it, time to go home!
He called out to mother and...she was gone. He had no connection to her... to this planet. He had other means. Flustered and angry he pulled out some powders, muttered the words that were common to himself, and threw them out, calling forth a gate to teleport himself back home. The air crackled and fizzed, and suddenly everything smelled like sulfur. Nothing. How could this happen. What was this place!? Truly confused he paced, rather walked unsteadily, back and forth trying to figure it all out. He reached inside himself and spent some energy, creating a small globe of fire in his hand. Frustrated he snuffed it out. That worked, but it felt different. Magic didn't seem to work in the same way here... Only time would tell, and he had to walk somewhere... Meet someone. Time to play one of his favorite roles. The old, and frequently confused red mage. Slightly stooped the man began to walk in a random direction, limping and leaning heavily on his staff. He muttered incoherently to himself as he hoped to stumble upon a town or village somewhere.
