Another job, another place. This morning was cleaning, and Spackle walls, ridden evidence of someone else's dirty job.
In the evening it was walking three hundred cattle prons to the shore so that the fisher men could finally have a catch, and not fear their lives over a water Wyvern. Luckily he took care of that problem too.
Taking his bag and stuffing the bread the old lady he carried groceries for had given him as payment, he swung the straps with ease onto his shoulders gave a generous wave and went to his next job. The man was a huntsmen, but also when it came to the towns he's roamed for the past hundred years making more frequent rounds than his siblings did. He was popular, but shy when it came to anyone he didn't know, In an aloof disregarding way. Oddly that attracted people, a mystery. What was a mystery was his next assignment.
An Anonymous tip of a man needing a hired hand, guess the man in the morning wasn't his cup of tea. It was in the same town, Skywire. The last time he was there he was scoring babes and flying an airship illegally, but he did pretty well. Enough that he left with just a ticket and a lady friend, the same who gave him the ticket. He hoped in treading through the layers and thin strips of this town on deadly stone arch that he wouldn't bump into familiar faces, even as faces weren't easy for him to remember.
The Town became crippling tight, as he squeezed through crowds and looked around for the building described in the message, For there were no visible numbers, and it was smart not to use such information, asking around for the number of a building will turn eyes. Alas the crooked and tall building with a sign invisible unless you looked to the side where the small alley way began, and seemed to get smaller further in, with the buildings leaning close together almost as the other's crutch. With an irritated sigh and look about he made his move again through and out of the crowd into the alley. Not only did it truly get tighter it got steeper, till it opened up in a 6x6 foot square, with a sewage drain below, just enough space for it.
He looked to the bolt door that took up the end wall. With a hesitant raised hand he knocked. 3 knocks two bangs three knocks in a rhythm that he almost didn't stop for the iron sound it gave off was quite fun. A peek hole slid open then quickly closed, the sounds of many locks unlocking and a large croak of the door, finally it was open to him. He walked into the dim green luminous lighting they had within the foyer, stairs, he climbed them, he got to a platform, and looked to the reflective sign that pointed up, yet more stirs, he wanted to groan, but the the big brute of a door man he had to squeeze by would hear him, and who knew if he had "ears" for first impressions.
Finally another door, yet illuminated in red and wooden, by a red light. he raised his hand.
"ENTER!"
shouted a fat mans voice, Shado blinked and looked up, a camera of course. He opened it and entered the room.
it was a large room, unlike the rest of the building, at least from what he knew, he didn't even know what this building was for. a couch behind a small desk and just behind that, a large window that looked out to the side of a building, and perhaps the narrow streets below.
The man sat on the couch with a smile, large plump red in the face his business suit had buttons that pulled for freedom, and his top hat too small for the large head that held a rosey smile. Shado could hear the wheezing breath, and pewph, smell it too.
"So glad you made it my boy, Here is the file, now i know what your thinking. "File? this man must do this alot.""
Shadow took the file and slid it closer to him from the desk flicking it open under the dim florescent lighting in the cozy yet eerie room, a picture and description, he didn't read the name, his eyes raised to the man, who then continued with an icebreaking throat clearing jolt.
"Well only once before. The man is-"
"I don't care for names," Shado projected as he read the location he was suppose to be finding this man.
"Oh good! well, you'll take care of it i see, Be paid very well. You'll take out this man, he'll be wearing red, there will be another person on the assignment, taking care of the man next to him,m his brother-well.. his brother is all i'll say i guess, Veera the town, as it says, dear boy and, do make it quick and clean, i need competition off the marker, it's rough, as you can see, to find a suitable place in a restless stock.
The man chuckled his eyes fierce when you could find them, but not as fierce as someone Shado knew well. He took the file and pulled his Bag and placed it in.
"It'll be done. Where is the final location?"
Oh don't worry about that, If anything here! oh and as i had promised." his voice got lower.
"the first payment" he pulled out an envelope and held it out for Shado. he took a hold of it, but the man didn't let go he instead leaned forward into the light his eyes green and serpent like.
Don't dissapoint me, I hope to make more business with you" the way he said it, was so bone chilling Shado felt his throat dry up. The man had that molester, rapist look of him, a filthy man Shado would run from the second he turned a corner and was faced with. But he was no child, he pulled at the enveloped taking his stuff and turning from him only to be glad he didn't have to stay and chat, no personal business, which was good.
Good luck, and remember, there is another, so mind her.
Her huh? yea right unless she minded him. hopefully it wasn't a hit for hit, He didn't need his head being marked anytime soon. He grabbed the door closed it fast and skid down the stairs, he heard the bolts already unlocking, good he needed to get out of this Porn room fast, it made him very unstable he nodded to the big man who hummed a goodbye to him. He went through the alley and breathed in deep, he couldn't even take breathing in that musky room, with the small fan blowing the stench of mr. ugly in his face. He swore the man was eyeballing him up and down like marbled meat at the butcher shop, He had this appeal to most, but from whom, it mattered at times.
He further made his way till he would be able to get a head into Veera, Soon. He was nervous, to take out this man in the file, at some point he would ask himself. was it right? could he place himself in that man's place and aim the gun at him. This was for making room in society for a man he'd rather shove off the face of the earth. a man who wanted to get up, and to do that, he needed to bring others down. Pathetic. The human race was so...
