Knot Tying: Life on the farm was demanding. One of the skills that Sivin learned from his father was knot tying. A skill he implemented in various ways such as, repairing tack and tying off ropes.
Riding: Sivin was fortunate enough to be born into a family of decent means. His father had the money to purchase several horses, which were used to blow the field, and on rare occasion riding into town. Over the years Sivin learned about riding a mount, and grew to enjoy it immensely.
Wrestling: One of few advantages of having brothers, and being the youngest, was a life filled with family conflict. Not many days went by when Sivin was completely safe. It was often that he was forced to fight off his siblings or neighboring farm kids. Over the years of his childhood he found himself quite adept at doing so.
