Abstract

A talking bodiless head.

Due to a laboratory mishap, Dr. Pimiento now finds himself scattered across the four planes of existence: left, right, up, and down. (Left-right and front-back are virtually the same plane; ditto with up-down and above-below).

Plainly put, his head can appear above a horizontal plane such as the ground or table, his legs below the ceiling, and his arms out of vertical planes such as walls. His torso meanwhile remains stuck in imaginary space. When in real space, his extremities can suffer harm like any normal physical entity. But with instantaneous access to iSpace, Tom can duck out of harm’s way quickly enough to escape harm. Being partly in the physical realm, he still requires physical sustenance.

If you see a talking head on the floor, or on the table, do not fear it. Despite the appearance of a severed head, his whole body is actually intact, but just in a different dimension.

History
Fascinated with teleportation, shadow plane walking, and other uncanny means of transportation, which some of Tia’s denizens were known to employ, Dr. Tomogryph Pimiento focused his scientific studies on discovering the secrets of dimensional travel, opting for the underground route in order to achieve his goals more quickly. As a true adherent of science, he believed all things now deemed paranormal or magical can be explained in scientific terms, broken down into equations that can be adjusted, calibrated, manipulated.

With the financial and manpower aid of his wealthy benefactor, Dr. Pimp captured and performed ghastly tomographical experiments on unfortunate subjects. Somewhere along the line, a patient escaped from her restraints and dragged the scientist into the ‘shadows’. Dr. Pimp grabbed onto various apparatus, severing electrical cords which sparked an explosion enabling him to break from the clutches of the ‘shadows’, but which left him scattered across the four simple planar dimensions.

With laboratory destroyed, his Master decided to keep Pepper Tom around the Manor, more amused by the doctor's current state than infuriated by his failed investment.

“What’s wrong, Dr. Pimp? You achieved that which you sought, and that is to plane walk in--what you call it, iSpace? Although you are unable to return to real space in your full former glory. And, do understand. As recompense for my lost funds, you will work for me. I could still use a man of your powers. How'd you like the position of Butler.”
