    Arthur Terces

    I. Identity

Arthur is the son of a highly esteemed veteran of Rosinder's army and a decorated soldier himself. Arthur joined the academy at age 9 (a full 3 years before their usual enrollment age), started fighting wars for Rosinder at 11, fought in and won his section of the Five Nation's War at 18, and has served his kingdom faithfully every step of the way. When one utters the phrase "perfect soldier", one thinks of Arthur Terces. The knight also commands a grotesque amount of physical strength. Arthur, like his father, is said to have the "blood of giants in his veins".

Although Arthur is exceptionally versed in warfare and has yet to meet his equal in one-on-one combat, he seems to suffer from none of the mental deficiencies or shortcomings that comparable soldiers do. Arthur is emotionally fulfilled and healthy; he has experienced sadness, though is never depressed, and mourns loss though does not cling to it. Arthur is not haunted at night by the men he has killed, Arthur is not anti-social, and Arthur's emotional growth has in no way been stunted.

To the contrary, the knight is celebrated among his closest friends and family as a polymath. Arthur is a powerful vocalist, a concert-level pianist, a magnificent cook, a skilled thespian, and a talented painter.

There are two things that Arthur would die for, which his unerring loyalty to make him a dangerous man should either be threatened; his family, and his land.

The mainstream opinion is that Arthur Terces perished in a fire that consumed his house, allegedly unable to take the mounting pressures of seeing his homeland ravaged by the men and beasts of Renovatio and consequently took his own life. The underground knows better, however. It is rumored that the head of the resistance, and one of its most powerful members, is the same fabled hero that brought Rosinder to glory and promises to do the same in these trying times.

    Arthur is currently 24.

    II. Appearance

Arthur Terces commands the physique of a brawler. He stands at an impressive six feet and two inches and hefts around two-hundred and ten pounds of what is arguably all solid muscle. Skin is richly tan, as he spent much of his time outside as a boy and continues to do so well into adulthood. Eye color is a deep, full-bodied gray that reflect in them a full range of emotion and experience. Hair color is an appealing shade of orange and is the only child of three to have taken after his father in this regard.

During battle, Arthur dresses in the exact same manner every time. Sword in one hand, shield in the other, ritual headgear, and the emblem of Rosinder stitched onto the back of his clothes.

Despite being a generally happy man, Arthur has been trained to almost constantly wear a stoic façade and this training, though years in his past, is hard to shake.

    III. Equipment

A sword of unremarkable make and mediocre smithing. A shield that follows the same pattern. Headgear, not a helmet, that protects only a fraction of his skull but which is made of highly durable, highly valuable metal. This headgear is also filigreed and bears the initials of his father, Geoffrey Terces. A satchel full of clear marbles with odd symbols suspended in their center. Though it has lost its inherent value, Arthur also carries the badge of Rosinder with him at all times.

An arm-length gauntlet, covering from the tip of his fingers up to the mound of his shoulder where it ends as a pauldron. The gauntlet is as dark as the purpose it provides. Black metal plates pleated over one another, black foundation with vivid red detail and wicked angles. It was made by, and once belonged to, Zhengyi the Witch-King. The gauntlet is an amazing necromantic focus.

    IV. Skills

    Corpus Arcana
Intimate knowledge of the 7 arcane centers located in a vertical line along the body. Allows for a wide range of magic that shows near limitless growth and an ease of casting implying mastery of use. Majority of the magic stemming from the Corpus Arcana revolves around the body.

    Necromancy
The study of death and a comprehensive understanding of the soul. He is aware of the components of etheric bodies from the lowest class of plants and animals up to the highest class of deities and can manipulate, and may even destroy them, with relative ease.

    V. Accomplishments
Defeated Zahzguhl in North Rosinder during the Five Nation's War
Started and currently leads the Resistance
    Organized the destruction of Xevn
    Organized the destruction of Daeor
Organized the bringing down of the Geryon, which in turn destroyed Pur'Xia
Organized and lead the destruction of Nu Jeruxalim

    Chivalric Code

"Protect the weak, defenseless, helpless, and fight for the general welfare of all."

    • Courage: A quality of spirit that enables you to face danger or pain without showing fear.
    • Benevolence: An inclination to do kind or charitable acts.
    • Honesty: Not disposed to cheat or defraud; not deceptive or fraudulent.
    • Honor: Adhering to ethical and moral principles. To the death.
    • Humility: Value first the contributions of others; do not boast of your own accomplishments.
    • Justice: Seek always the path of 'right', unencumbered by bias or personal interest.
    • Loyalty: Steadfast in allegiance or duty.
    • Prowess: To seek excellence in all endeavors expected of a knight, martial and otherwise.
    • Rectitude: Righteousness as a consequence of being honorable and honest.
    • Respect: A courteous expression (by word or deed) of esteem or regard.

These guidelines are the main duties of a Rosindarian knight, and what is expected of his conduct.

Knights are trained, among other things, in hunting, fighting, and riding. They are also trained to practice courteous, honorable behavior and adhere to the propriety of whatever nations or lands they may visit. Chivalry is the main principle guiding a knight’s life style. The code of chivalry deals with three main areas: the military, social life, and religion.

The military side of life is, and rightly so, important to knighthood. Along with the elements of war, there are many customs and rules to be followed. One of the greatest disgraces to be suffered is to come back from a duel with a cut on one's back, for this implies that the victim turned his back from his foe to run. One of the greatest honors is to carry the banner of your nation, to display power and distinguish knights in battle.

    Codes of War

    • War should not affect the unarmed - meaning that the civilian population should not be attacked for any reason nor should the disarmed and seriously wounded soldiers or warriors unless it is for killing them as an act of mercy.

    • Rest should be provided for both sides - meaning that the war should not continue after sunset or otherwise it is a guerrilla war.

    • All foes should be defeated - meaning that even if your kinsman fought against you, you should not hesitate to defeat him.

    • Raids should not be undertaken unless completely necessary - meaning that a raid should not be undertaken unless the motive is to compensate for past losses or to humiliate the enemy.

    • Women should not be looked at unless she challenges you - meaning that unless a woman is in your enemy's army as a soldier or warrior you should not attack her. If the woman is the ruler then she can be attacked or asked to surrender only after the whole army is defeated or if she is an immediate threat to the life of yourself or your kinsmen.

    • A guerrilla war should not be waged unless the objective is victory - meaning that the warriors chosen for a guerrilla war should be the best, able to defeat any large army in the given situation and such an attack should be done only to attain a political goal and not to raid the enemy's supplies.

    • A traitor should never escape death - meaning that a traitor or defector of ones own army should be guaranteed death.
