Re: Dohluhn.

[justify:1ppt9lr2]INTRO.

Name : Kar'tzech
Location : 20 miles East of Dolce

BASICS.

Governed By : Karresh Fearwall (Unless Tirok or his daughters are on the scene)
Population : 4,000 civilians within the walls, 18,000 supporting the barracks and farmland around it.
Security
[spoiler:1ppt9lr2]_400 Scorpions : A light-weight and mobile device designed to throw either iron bolts or small stones. These are positioned at the various windowed sections of the exterior walls.

_5,500 'Grunts' : These are standard forces of Dozkeye which have standardly given lamellar armor but have a much cheaper design of chainmail as well as not as grand of weapons to fight with.

_700 Gorro Rider Units : A Gorro Riding Unit is built up of the Gorro, a boar some five times the size of a standard boar and clad in armor, the 'knight', who steers with his feet and hacks at opponents, and the shooter, typically a goblin as they're nice and light as well as have a certain...maniacle quality that Tirok likes.

_1,000 Felblades :The elite of Dozkeye, armed to the teeth (more in-depth descriptions later but more than willing to give them now)

_3,000 Archers : These aren't standard archers. When the enemy comes close, though they wear only lamellar armor, they will gladly brandish swords and fend off their attackers.

_100 Hussars : Sole purpose is to scout and patrol. They have some of the fastest horses available with next to nothing in regards to armor and only a simple sword for basic protection.

_100 Dragon Riders : Usually mounted by elves or drow in order to have heightened vision, they are members of Glintblade, the elite portion of Dozkeye’s military. Crossbows, polearms, whatever…

^-Total force, including those outside the walls on patrols.

-Given, they haven’t had their defenses fully constructed and troops have been 100% positioned yet. And ya know, information about said castle had only just arrived.[/spoiler:1ppt9lr2]

LAYOUT.

( Defenses and actual layout later )

INTEREST.

Ore Mines : many areas to mine making for many jobs for the people of Kar’tzech.

Mana Geysers: mana in its purest form can be collected and refined.

Re: Kar'tzech.

Tirok had distributed his military to leave a third in the homeland, a third at the embassy, and a third here in Rosinder. That included all of Glintblade, Torridblade, and the remaining military factions. To fully set this up would take more time. As it stood, only a decent sized force would be stationed at the castle and maintaining it. To get a castle running took a bit of effort, even if it was simply handed over.

All of the ceremonies had already come and gone. Tirok honestly didn't care much for them. The natives of Rosinder surely weren't happy about having yet another foreign power in their lands. All the same, he wanted to treat them as friends. Tirok gave simple orders to either become a citizen of Dozkeye or get out. This was his land and he intended to do with it as he saw fit and didn't want to have anything hanging up his decision-making.

A six and a half foot orc with ashen-skin and dressed in white furs and a black velvet robe stood next to Tirok. "Your orders are proceeding without a hindrance," said Karresh Fearwall, the one directly beneath Tirok in the chain of command to govern this province, "The remainder of the military will be divided and spread out as you requested, your Majesty."

Nodding quickly and giving his governor a quick pat on the shoulder, he displayed his approval and began to simply survey the castle. Through all the commotion he hadn't had a chance to simply walk through the grounds. While he had viewed the designs on a simple canvas he had yet to see it first hand. So, with things dying down somewhat, he decided to take a nice stroll.

Re: Kar'tzech.

The snow-haired elf sat quietly nearby, her faded green eyes focusing on Tirok for the longest time. The elongated ears altered her perception, allowing her to hear the conversation without giving her own position away. Slowly, she stood to her feet, her thin leather boots resting on the hard floor. Quietly, she advanced upon him, her assassin's poise never once fading until she had found her place behind the gigantic (at least compared to her four and a half foot frame) orc.

Clearing her throat, she made her presence known to him, "So, sounds like everything is going according to your plan." She strode next to him revealing her black leather clad form. Her twin daggers, which she named Deloth and Rutha, were sheathed to her right hip where they were kept safe. Her snow-white hair lightly bounced on her shoulders as she moved to his side, hopefully stopping his pace for the time being.

"I've taken the liberty of exploring your castle," she shrugged, giving him a faint smirk shortly afterward, "You aren't missing much. In fact, even the library is lacking in good books. B-u-u-u-t, if you want I can take another tour, I hear walking with company makes things a LITTLE more interesting."

Re: Kar'tzech.

When inside the walls of his own territory, Tirok's guard was usually at a lesser state. This was due to the fact that he had developed a credible spy network as well as assassins that guarded hallways in dark spaces. So to have Thaiis suddenly dart out and start walking alongside him gave the ogre no worries. Without even breaking his pace he'd start to chuckle and respond, "Well I wouldn't expect Renovatio to leave us with many legendary tomes, madam. Considering that this castle was handed to me I'm amazed that they left anything in these halls."

It was true. This plot of land had simply been 'handed' over to Dozkeye. Its terrain still fascinated the Emperor. The geysers that simply spout up mana from the ground caught his attention almost immediately. Finding a way to convert that in to a feasible weapon was one of his highest priorities. The glorious structure atop Kar'tzech stretched some hundreds of feet in to the sky. If there was a way to connect the geysers to a device at it's summit...the damage would be immeasurable.

As servants and messengers went darting past the two, Tirok couldn't help but sneak a glance back at his little Thaiis. The size difference was incredible. The simple fact was that his overwhelming size could crush her in an instant...and her speed could allow her to have some kind of surgical strike to the eye and finish him in the blink of an eye. It was probably this contrast that drew them to one another.

"How are you finding your stay here so far? I know there hasn't been a lot of time to ship personal items over yet...but I'd like to think you would feel at home." 'Home'. That word made his mind pause for a moment before being jolted back to a more conscious state. Where was she planning on staying? Without trying to sound too...odd...he changed his gaze to move forward again and cleared his throat before speaking, "Have...you been given a room yet...? I'm sure that leading my spy network might have you coming and going at all hours..." No matter what, his attitude around women astounded even himself. To think that one with wealth and power at his disposal would be so nervous over such a seemingly small subject as sleeping arrangements.

Re: Kar'tzech.

One of the highest priorities would be the mana-cannon. Siphons would be attached to the mana geysers. The hoses would then be thoroughly protected as they were brought back to batteries. Said batteries were to be built close to the castle as to prevent being cut off from them. Once the batteries were full, the excess mana would be put to work in other ways. Tirok had already devised ways to have it act essentially as water to turn mills and create automated systems that ground the wheat until the workers moved them down to the next level where the process proceeded.

This cannon would be something that Tirok had never devised before. In fact, Nefas had a hand in the inspiration. The newest brand of soldier Dozkeye produced were the Necrotic Ogres that Nefas was ever so proud of. Their rage was turned in to energy which was then stored in various places within the body. It was this principle that led Tirok to do the same, only on a much larger scale. There are stone runes within these 'batteries', which are nothing more than a wooden pillar filled with carved rocks, that soak up and hold the energy until it is desired.

Works were still being done to actually attach the cannon to the cross atop the recently renamed castle and find a way to actually transfer the energy to it. These actions were given higher priority than any kind of defenses to be built on the landscape itself.

Re: Kar'tzech.

As Tirok and Thaiis continued to walk, a servant quickly came up behind them and was panting heavily. By the dewy brow it was obvious he had been coming for some time now. In fact he had come from the construction yard that held the prototype cannon that would be used as the premise for the later cannon. Standing up straight, the servant would wait until being told to speak.

With a gentle sigh and somewhat upset he had to cut his meeting with Thaiis short, turned and spoke, "What is it?"

The servant began to mutter out a request as understandable as he could, despite being tired, "Emperor! We've finished the prototype but we're not sure if it will function properly. The engineer wanted to know if you would mind being the power source just to see it of works."

Quirking a brow with curiosity, Tirok responded, "'Being the power source'? Huh HAH! Sounds fun!!" Quickly his right hand moved to give a quick bump against Thaiis, "It'll be fun if nothing else."

Whether she was coming or not, Tirok was going. The two then began to head down the corridors of the castle that would lead outside and eventually to the construction yard on the northern side of the castle. All the while, Tirok was more than ready to please the spectators as he started to call on the Well of Rage, storing up one charge and then another...letting them fester within himself as he walked. Of course, this was so that he could more easily send them out without accidentally destroying the prototype, especially after Renovatio was gracious enough to help them in the design and construction.

Re: Kar'tzech.

More than likely this cannon would require more than just one charge...but Tirok wanted to start small just to make sure that it didn't suddenly explode and murder all of his staff. That just wouldn't be polite at all. Being motioned and spoken to by some of the scientists, mana-workers, and sorcerers that had been called upon to complete this project, Tirok was instructed where to stand and exactly what to do. The armored frame stood poised and ready to deliver one condensed charge in to the elaborate device that had metal pipes and hoses going every which way with enough levers to dam a river. Being quite alright with not fully knowing how the device worked, Tirok would let one burst of energy pulse from his hands and in to the device in a slow, even discharge through said pipes.

Of course, directly before this, he had made sure that the firing device was angled in to the air in some innocent direction as to not actually harm anyone or thing. In that moment he took some time to draw another charge and let it rest within his body and fester, as he was sure they would ask for two charges to be released next...but that wouldn't even be close to the case.

Within the device were amplifiers all throughout the carefully orchestrated network of tubes. At each one the power was magnified again and again until finally a relatively small amount of energy could produce enough power to force a siege tower to erupt in a cloud of fire and smoke with a crackle of magic energy in the air. Considering the size of Tirok's strength, the beam released was tremendous. Its heat was strong enough to singe the hair of those standing close enough to it. The magnificent purple beam went surging in to the heavens before disappearing in a gorgeous display of lights that superseded the expectations of the workers.

After a moment had been given to truly digest the majesty of the event, the people erupted in a joyous cheer as Tirok just stood in amazement. He was truly dumbfounded at just how powerful a device he created. Then considering that mana was just spraying up from the ground...there was no telling just how useful such a thing could be and was certainly glad that the technology came from someone who called themselves friend, rather than foe.

Wishing to see no further displays, Tirok allowed them to go on about their business of moving the cannon in to the next stage of preparation. Even as the pipes that would act as the veins for this machine were being built all the way up the full height of Kar'tzech, there were others beginning work on taming the mana-geysers. Not only that, but defensive positions, walls, barracks, and all sorts of other creations had to be erected in order for all of this to flow smoothly. While it was indeed a powerful construct, it was not without its weaknesses.
