The rebellion groups of Rosinder, known only as the resistance as no known fighter has felt the need to waste precious time deliberating silly things like nifty names, are separated into two groups.
The first are the imperially trained. These are a relatively small group of soldiers that had been in the army before the war, the oldest branches of which belonged to captain Arthur Terces. Arthur's brilliantly strategic mind managed to minimize deaths in the ranks through their ultra-violent, five day meeting with Renovatio forces. These men, having to adhere to Arthur's exaggeratedly strict doctrine of combat, are arguably one of the best factions of the imperially trained.
The rest of the imperially trained come from all divisions of the prior army. The knights, the archers, the sorcerers, the high mages, the dragon riders, the tamers, the cavaliers and so on. These men are extremely skilled in their particular responsibilities, having had to pass the exhaustive checklist of standards necessary to be accepted into their respective branches.
Then there are the untrained. These are the working class citizens, such as blacksmiths, cobblers, preachers, and innkeepers, ranging across all ages, which have grown tired of their oppression. It is important to note that there is no difference in efficiency between the imperially trained and the untrained.
The tactics for guerilla warfare, which are actively practiced between each individual unit of the resistance and which each Rosindarian citizen takes a shine to, employ drastically different strategies that spread evenly across the board in this culture.
The skills that guerilla warfare demands from each of its practitioners are: a mobility that one cannot employ when fighting in large, conventionally trained units; an ingenuity and sensitivity of knowledge for each unit that is not practically employed over larger units; a single force to oppose that is so heinous in the minds of the practitioners that they would stop at nothing short of, and even beyond, death.
Kierstied, the head of the alchemist guild and one of the more notable key figures in pushing the rebellion along, invented an intricate concoction to aid the rebels. A mutagen which granted the resistance fighters with increased physical ability (faster, stronger, more flexible, more agile), an increased mental capacity (reflexes, thought-time, strategy, recognition), and an increased sensory network (five senses; sixth sense).
The guerrilla fighters are strong and iron-willed. They are well equipped and well aware.
Renovatio will know why they would have been better off preening their feathers and shaking rust from their blasphemies.
Long live the revolution!

Spell Puzzle: A cube consisting of a 3 grid of squares on each of its faces. These squares are marked by colored tiles that identify them as spell components that, depending on the configuration of the cube and their proximity to other colors, will create certain spell effects. An expert user of the Spell Puzzle is capable of solving it in less than a minute. The standard rebel is trained in the use of Spell Puzzles and is capable of creating any possible spell or combination in a matter of seconds.
Insta-incants: Similar to the Spell Puzzle model, the Insta-incants are another child of innovation. Incantations are a powerful method of arcane spellcraft; its strength stems from the specific manner, tempo, pitch, and timing of an incantation, but because of the time consumption involved with such mantras they are weak against headlong charges into a line of chanting mages by the brash and foolhardy. Insta-incants relieve mages of interruption; they are devices no larger than the first knuckle of one's thumb that possess pre-recorded incantations inside of them. The sound cubes are meant to chant in tandem with a live caster and add power to his verse. Five cubes that aid a single mage end comparably to the power of six mages chanting the same spell.
It also allows a soldier who is unfamiliar with incantations to activate one of the Insta-incants while engaging his opponent, until after a certain amount of time when the desired spell will be birthed.
Healing Stones: Crystalline stones about the size of a large coin that come in sets of 3-5. Healing stones are packed with a slew of magic that is meant to heal, revitalize, and sharpen. They are designed to be crushed in one's grip, though they are not fragile enough to be broken by jarring movement. Upon doing this, the spell is released directly into the rebel's hand and he immediately benefits.
Spellbox, Light: Cubes that have a preformulated spell circle or glyph inside of them. When activated, the cube projects a hologram onto a surface, whether it be as solid as metal or as fluid as water, and is capable of projecting it into the air to take shape. This gives soldiers that have no practical spell casting experience an edge in the field of magic. It is possible to amplify the effects of the spell circles by adding mirror arrays which reflect the holograph unto multiple surfaces, increasing the effects.
Antitech Grenades: Once detonated, it has the look and consistency of sapphire goo. It is blue plasma harvested and contained into a useful hand explosive, extremely effective against machinery because the plasma is electrified and entertains all the properties of an electromagnetic pulse weapon; biological foes, and less complicated machinery, are also at risk as the goo burns upon impact.
Entropic Shield Generator: A heavy cylinder composed from dark purple crystal that is capable of being carried by a single man, though it is cumbersome enough that he will carry little else. When activated, it projects a large field that emits with a shifting, multicolored aura. This field deflects incoming arrows, rays, and other ranged and projectile attacks. Projectiles that are already in the field suffer random and instantaneous alteration of their trajectories, making it impossible to use ranged weaponry inside of the field.
