Sick tunes man. I'm a massive jazz/ jazz fusion enthusiast and I liked both tunes a lot. How long you been writing for? What do you personally play?
Props though man, I'm a pro musician as well, and I really dig this stuff.

I've been writing music for about 5 years, and I play trumpet - I'm playing in both videos, out front in the latest one, and in the red hat in the first one. Been playing trumpet for 16 years, and I have a degree in jazz composition from Berklee College of Music.
That's cool man. I've been a studio musician for about 4 years now, and I've been doing concerts/shows since I was about 14. Who's your favorite composer?

I want to get into studio work so bad. I've been considering moving to LA or NYC just to be able to do it, but I don't have any connections as of yet.
My favorite composer at the moment is a woman from NYC named Maria Schneider; her music is some of the most beautiful stuff I've ever heard. I got the pleasure to play a concert of her music with her conducting, and she's also one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Here's one of her pieces that's one of my personal favorites: http://caseybrefka.com/random/01%20Hang%20Gliding.mp3
Also, if you go to http://www.caseybrefka.com , that's my website, and you can hear the rest of my music on the page there.
Yeah, I was lucky in the fact that I ran into some heavy cats that helped me get into the whole studio scene. It's actually one of my favorite things to do. There's also the fact that I live in Dallas, and I'm not that far from Austin, which is where I am at the moment. It's good work between these two cities.
Man, I'm going to have to check her out. My favorite for awhile now has been a man by the name of Pat Metheny. I love almost everything he comes out with. His compositions are just super colorful, and I love the way he phrases his soloing, plus the unique way his improvisation is blinded into his music is beautiful.
Another would have to be just about anything John Mclaughlin has ever put out. Generally Jazz Fusion type stuff. Miles Davis is always a must with me too.
