Swerve
When all things swerve from vengeful death
And take their final ending breath,
Take in the hungry jaws of space
Where all things have their lives erased.
There the beast of dreams dance awhile
And call their nightmare offspring child
And let it join them, savage, wild.
No numbers of lives that spawn shall dial.
Souls rot and decay beneath its shade
All things sacrificed, all debts paid.
Cities have crumbled; worlds were scourged,
True dreams lay abandoned, no hopes were forged.
Too many have fallen, so many will die
Believing the child and its scheming lies.
No one raised arms and no one defied.
None were of faith, none prayed or tried.
They only saw all things swerving from death,
Failing that took their own ending breath.
Thus the starving jaws of empty space
Swallowed them and made their lives erased.
Stare into that void of space,
Where all things vanished and left no trace.
