"Those lying bastards...how dare they pass themselves off as a real resistance force. These aren't the people I was looking for as it was. Supposing they were given direct orders from Terces. Goes to show any Mage out there will play on your emotions. They didn't need me in the first place, what with all their firepower. What good is it to have a swordsmen, when you're fighting with nothing but magic." Though these thoughts were very critical of the recent incursion, that didn't deserve to be noted. Beng misled by the league of mages into fighting with them had unleashed a sour attitude within the mind of Rhezzo Dharrei. It didn't help in the least bit when it was revealed that the target Daeor had really been an illusion all along. Someone planted it there, just so they would reveal themselves as a renegade faction. Either way, it wasn't the least bit helpful that he let himself be dragged in, otherwise he would've kept hidden.
As it stands the only good thing that came from that worthless assault was a Horse. At least he could keep that horse for a while, with what little gold he had left. Otherwise if he didn't find the real Resistance led by Turces. He'd have to find a way back to Genesaris, then make his next move. It was nightfall as he made his way through a thick wood, that really didn't help his visual accuity any. In fact if an assassin had a trip-wire anywhere, he'd consider himself screwed. If not for the torch in his hands, still it only gave him so much to go by. He adjusted the reigns through the old dirt path, trailblazed months or years ago. Seeing as how this was the widest route toward Fa'Diel. Jet-black eyes adjusted to the moon, he marked its position knowing it was somewhere between 12:00 and 1:00 -in the morning.
Holding the reigns of the horse in his right hand, the torch in his left, all seemed quiet this night. Hopefully he would be able to make it through without incident. He adjusted in his sadle as he bade his legs to adjust into the stirrups. Wearing a dark blue traveling cloak and hood, his plate mail reflect what little light there was to be had. "I wonder what Terces is like, I know he has a broher. Still, I hope these people know what the hades they're doing. I never want a repeat of that again, it was utter stupidity." Noting a grove nearby that was open wit a grove of long grass, as well as a place where many travelers had set a base camp. Rhezzo knew it would be foolish to ride into town without a half-way decent amount of sleep. Considering the amount of energy he burned trying to get away from that distant field.
Strategically speaking the Rosinder commander who had ordered the placement of the illusion was highly skilled. Whoever he was, he certainly knew what a resistance movement, or lack thereof would expect to look for. Daeor itself was probably hidden from malicious eyes. Especially those who would seek to sink the hallowed bastion of technological power. Dismounting, the pulled the mare into the grove by the reigns keep the torch away from the horses mane. Softly rubbing over the stalwart beasts head to comfort her. Rhezzo gave her a comforting look toward the horse, before adding.
"Since I didn't recieve a proper payment for the services I rendered. I doubt a group as powerful as the league of mages will miss your friendly face. Now, it's bad luck not to name a horse so I think I will have to find one suitable for you. So far you've been very generous and I thank you for it."
The horse neighed at him while giving him a scrutinizing look. For the first time in a couple of days Rhezzo smiled innocently at her. Offering her a kind scratch behind her ears as payment. Tying the reigns to the tree, while giving her a little comfort he unatatched the harness and sadle allowing the beast rest. Softly he brushed his hands along her ebony coat as a comfort to her service to him. She responded by allowing this while sniffing the grass in front of her. Slowly his eyes diverted to the ground, idily his hands shifted to the pack beside him. Lifting up the canteen of water Rhezzo took a sip, then allowed the horse a small taste for herself. At least hoping that she would find comfort in a little drink.
"For one so strong of body and spirit, I think it's only fitting as to give you the name Leid."
As if to be expected a soft neigh of approval for the name was given in response to this. Rhezzo took the the time to prepare his camp for the night.
