History
Nicholas was born lower than the lowliest street rat. Raised in the slums by a single mother who made a living by selling her body, he was often harassed by the other children, which made him a loner and delinquent. With nowhere to go during the day, because his mother couldn't afford to send him to school, he snuck into abandoned warehouses, where he discovered his gift and passion for machinery. Other times, he wandered the neighborhoods of the rich, where he was often sneered at for the rags he wore and the dirt on his skin. He eventually became disgusted with their superficial, self-serving lifestyle and snobby attitude, vowing that he would surpass them by showing them that wealth of character will always triumph over materialistic wealth. Little did he know that despite the upper class’s disgust at his poor upbringing and lowly birth, he had a presence as powerful and arresting as a king's. Those of weaker ilk would shudder at the boy who wore his rags with the pride of a prince, which in turn made them feel like peasants. The perceptive few who understood what they saw would point his way, and whisper to one another, "That boy’s going to change the world."
After a whirlwind of adventures, from his first successful project to a lost love, he became entirely engrossed in the accumulation of wealth. The boy who had stars in his eyes and saw what could be was gone; in his place was a bitter man that cared for nothing but what money could buy, and sold his art to the highest bidder.
