    Tavern of Legend: Season 2

With a change of clothes, Devin looked no different from the other people. He just had to avoid contact, and nobody would've guessed that he was a body snatcher. He had put on gloves and a full body outfit to prevent people from identifying his race. After all, the people in the tavern had only seen his helmet and armor. Devin tapped his jacket nervously, and his eyes twitched from side to side as he entered the tavern. This time, he received almost no attention at all. He strolled over to the bar, keeping a distance from the one individual who had seen his eyes, the shieldbearer Edric. As he turned his head to the right, he saw the magician that he had stabbed conversing with a white haired rogue with an eyepatch. The gunslinger stood behind them protectively, and the tall girl sat beside her. The fox masked man slinked away at the counter, and no doubt the gravedigger was somewhere close as well. He noticed a few other notable figures, a lizardlike man, and a furry faced shapeshifter, as well as a girl in a purple school uniform. "Mages..." he cursed to himself. He didn't like backliners. He felt that they were cowards. Sitting at the bar, he tried to avoid attention and called for a drink.

"I honestly thought I'd never see you again mate," Conner hugged Isaiah tightly, his wound no longer hurting thanks to Ameli. He waved his hand at surrounding folk. "We've sort of formed an unofficial group here," Conner said. "Theres that shieldbearer hitting on that student girl over there, thats Edric. He's a serious playboy, but he can get really rough if he needs to. This gal behind me, this is Alyssa. She slings bullets at people. And the rest of the fam are sorta just here to chill out, like this tall gal here," Conner said, motioning to Ameli. "You... Don't steal things anymore... Do you?" Conner inquired.

Rachel frowned. "Dark magic isn't safe. It was made to destroy. But if some day, I have to destroy someone to protect another, I'll be able to do it," she replied solemnly. She flipped the page of the book to one that read 'Forbidden Technique'. On it we're several sketches and notes about self destruction spells, which would cost the castor his/her life, but would counterbalance the ecosystem by bringing another back to life with no negative side effects. A tear dripped from her eye and she shut the notebook quickly.

Rachel turned to face the gentleman behind her. "Aah... The academy trains young talents to perform arcane arts in different speciality sectors. When the children are 12, they seek knowledge from an artefact that they call 'The Oracle'. As a mage, you don't choose magic. Magic chooses you. I was given the gift of dark magic when I was 12, and the academy frowned upon it. Well basically, if you are the one in 100000 students whom get gifted with dark energy, then you get expelled, which I'm honestly not too upset about. School sucked anyways." Rachel adjusted her spectacles and moved her dark hair aside.

Isaiah woke up with a start. He had been dozing off this entire time. But what awoke him wasn't a startling dream, but rather a familiar voice in the tavern. "...Thx Ameli..." Isaiah whipped his head around, looking for the source of the voice. Sitting at a small Roundtable, a black cloaked magician winced as a tall woman Nurses a sizable wound in his side. A female gunslinger watched over both of them. He remembered the magician. He had encountered him on his journeys to and fro from Ashville. He hurried over. "Hail, Sapphire. Do my eyes deceive me?"

Isaiah grinned like a wolf. "I am insulted. You know I take great pride in my appearance," he laughed. As the last of Ameli's magic melted into Conner's body, Isaiah gave him a bro hug, playfully taking a deck of cards from his rucksack. (OOC: Prediscussed V) "Put it back," Conner remarked without even looking. His companion knew him way too well. Isaiah gave him a friendly slap on the back and flipped the deck of cards over his head, into Conner's hands. "You always knew me best old friend," Isaiah commented. He noticed a girl with a robotic eye staring at him with dissatisfaction, and quickly backed away from Conner. Adjusting his eyepatch and straightening his overcoat, he cleared his throat and smiled graciously at Alyssa.

In his back pocket, was a lockpick, and several smoke bombs. Alyssa knew at once how this man made his living, but dared not to be rude. She eyed his switchblades which were left slanted against the wall. But if Conner trusted him, there was no reason for her not to.

Daoda | To Erect an Empire!

The haunt from her voice carried by the wind was almost impossible to distinguish for somebody, unlike Kenshi. While, out in the open he could hear at an impressive five miles away. Though as the unit traveled further in the forest, his hearing stretched to only three miles. The Blind Ookami picked up on the mysterious woman's beckon, calling out to, Heika Chijono. A temporary profound, anxiety would halt his march from progressing. His mind would dwell in the possibilities of what might unfold in the coming hour or so. Surely, the young warlord must have heard his calling, but then again, the rising dragon emperor might not been so readily at attention like Kenshi. Suddenly, his train of thought interrupted from the rear, Athena would break the silence. He wouldn't exactly turn his head to face that direction until, she suggested that he, being of their latest gatherers went to patrol the area ahead with some othera. Ideally, he was okay with that, but don't go pitch in aide from someone already a step ahead of the rest of the squad. Especially, not Momoku. In a once-over glance, he stared her down, silver daggers in place of his half lidded eyes. The scowl on his face indicating, he was not so much a comrade as she mentioned. Nor was the guardian up for open grabs like a rag doll, or puppet; couldn't spell TEAM, with the letter I. They were crammed aboard the fishermen boat, but that didn't technically mean they knew each other enough to engage in free, open conversation. This was a reserved young man, in tune with mind, body and soul that would rather spare time wiayy Mother Nature and her surroundings, than to those he did not wish to currently know. Besides, Kenshi didn't serve the Datsuzoku empire just, yet. The daiookami humphed lowly in dissatisfaction as if to oppose, crunching his teeth in the juiciness of the sweet Fuji apple he would dispose of it with just the core, casting it among a shrub of small bushes. Turning towards the opposite direction, he would begin his walk all over again. Right foot taking lead first, padded zori would clomp against the compact ground of forestry. Soon after, the spiritual warrior's danger, detecting sixth sense that left it's unsettling, queasiness in his underbelly fainted and finally disappeared. An irritated smirk at the sight of Jobboku trees crossed his thinned lips, shaking his head from left-to-right as he would seem to have found the source of demonic energy in the vicinity and could finally, loosen up. Maybe, maybe not. These children of the trees maintained their fresh appearances by sucking blood from the dead in former battlefields. The ex-Tadokuro Regime General recognized them distinctively by the large-quantities of lifeblood which stored in their branches. There was a natural abundance of these trees back in the Yokai realm; the fact they also grew in these new lands, slightly peaked Kenshi's lack of impression. Perhaps this trip towards another chapter of longevity, wasn't half as bad as he anticipated. So Koji gave orders for him, Athena and Dove to disperse ahead of the already established group? Kenshi would rather risk dying by his loyal sword than, to trust the likes of the others and not too mention, more demons. Hell, he felt it may been best to kept a mindful third eye on what Koji's true aspirations may really been during his rise. Momoku should have been the cold, half carnivorous vessel. Yet he wasn't. But who's to say that wouldn't later change? To serve as scouts? How dull and unthrilling. Instead of speaking how the canine truly felt, trusting a group of strangers was out of the question. So refraining from opening his large maw Kenshi silently, kept about a few yards ahead of the crew. The first droplets of rain rolled down his paled high cheek bones as the Blind ronin gazed to look at the big, floating world above. A clamorous applause of lightning among greying thick clouds now cluttered the great, vast skies. He took the slimmed index from his right hand, brushed it gently over the spot on his face with disbelief. - it was going to pour soon and the Master didn't bring his paper parasol! Oh my.... (sorry to have not quoted anyone.)

"That looks... delicious.." Edric mumbled, silently hoping that she wouldn't make him eat it. "Is it edible?" Edric asked, just as the girl turned it into a black cloud of nothingness, "Nevermind.." Edric recognized the magic. It was dark magic, one of the weaker forms of constructive magic, which were made to create or to generate energy or matter, such as fireballs or ions. Dark Magic was created only for the sole purpose of destroying. Matter afflicted by Darkness was consumed and never found ever again. Energy corrupted by darkness would feed the spellcaster with mana. He had never liked shady characters, but this girl was too hot to resist. So he pretended to be listening to her explanation, beaming charmingly. "The name is Edric, may I inquire yours?"

If you're still interested (and I hope you are) I can message you and we can make up a new thread hook and go from there. Metty, I'll send you a PM of a proposed opening to the thread and if you like it I will post it up. Thanks again everyone for the interest!

Good Del Graz thought to himself they are aware of me. As if to make a point, Draegon extended his own supernatural senses. While his supernatural awareness was not on par with the royals he was able to get a general sense of what he was dealing with and, begrudgingly, he was impressed. He briefly considered leaving and returning at night but discarded that idea before it was even fully formed. It would not do to show weakness, even if he was human at the moment. "Leela, go to the group in the forest as my emissary. Deliver my greetings and request that they send an emissary of their own. Take three of the mordicants with you and have the rest set up the camp and a perimeter." Turning his attention to Selene and Kyla, he continues "the two of you will set up my personal tent and effects. Use the ostentatious coverings." Some time later.... Leela carefully, calmly approached the couple that was clearly in charge with her mordicant guards not more than a few steps behind her. All the activity in the camp seemed to orbit around them. "Your highnesses" she said as she bent herself into a deep bow "I come as an emissary of Lord Draegon Del Graz, supreme ruler of the Plains of Chaos, wielder of the black, ever-burning fire, and scourge of the Lords of Order." As she straightened herself, as well as she could, she continued "He seeks alliance with you on recommendation by the seeress Dove who's presence he acknowledges and to whom he sends his greetings." After a brief pause she continued, "While he regrets that he only has travel foods to offer, he requests that your august selves, or an emissary with authority to speak on your behalf, join him in his evening repast."

All of this took place in a TAVERN . 'Who shushes someone in a Tavern' I thought to myself bemused then forgetting the mage next to me I caught tell of her invitation to the squad which she politely denied saving her use for more.... creative uses . "Tuh," I said loudly to the 'leader' of the 'crew' "Why is it always money that strives people forward" I shook my head and turned back to the mage girl who had yet again reanimated another lifeless thing. "Ah yes, I wanted to ask you what business the academy have here...."I said carefully to Rachel unstressing the importance of this question.

In her hand, a phantasm conjured itself, snaking around like a little wraith in her palm. "It is difficult. Magic like this draws energy from my life force to sustain itself," Rachel mumbled, her eyes fixated on her palm. The Phantasm snaked around, its sides rippling with dark energy, with a hunger for destruction. "But if used correctly..." Rachel stopped talking to recite a spell. The Wraith suddenly slowed down. "...it can create new life." The wraith began to solidify, flesh starting to build around its core. In a matter of seconds, a small lizard rested on her palm, snoring pleasantly. "But as I said, it comes with a cost," her body turned pale as a little bit of her life force was sapped from her to fuel the new life form.

Well there's me I'm officially the boss although I typically let the group break up to find their own quests. Of course comming along with any one of us grants reward. As for my Goals? Get as much money as I can in this one shot at life, and to have fun doing it. The other two are Alishar, real nice guy trying to make a living doing what he can where he can he loves adventure , books, and fun. Although he's a body snatcher so mind the touch but unlike most others he's kind and can't force you to do anything. Then there's Cerbaus our favorite psychopath. You can probably point him out right now. Gas mask and a trench coat smells like death and dirt. He's apathetic towards the living and revers the dead. He loves undead but prefers to see them at rest instead of up and about. You take a job with him, prepare to get bloodied up. Take a job with me expect to get a good pay day, and take one with Alishar expect some pleasant errands or sightseeing that pays ok. We have an unofficially member Ameli. She's the tallest person or at least female here lab coat. She's got a soft spot and she's really kind. Motherly kind. Do something with her you'll see some speed but often little to no pay. A white haired man in an eye patch, and a student girl whom was in her late 20s, dressed in a purple uniform and spectacles. On the table infront of her, a frog emitted black odour. What was this new cooking style? Edric had never seen that before. Would they only allow this girl to try it just because of her gender?! That wasn't fair! Rachel was afraid. She was afraid of being judged. Afraid of being persecuted. Everywhere she went, she was afraid of being treated like a disease, like how her childhood was. As she strode up the stone path to the tavern, she tapped nervously on her purple mage academy uniform. She was afraid that people would recognize her, and realize that she was a dropout. Well, she hadn't exactly dropped out, she just wasn't practicing the magic that the school encouraged. As she stood before the tavern door, she took off her spectacles and wiped them dry. She stepped awkwardly into the tavern, and quickly found a place at the bar, not wanting to attract attention to herself. She requested a skewered frog for her meal. When the frog came, she opened a small notebook that she kept in her uniform pocket. She quietly cast her spell. The frog began to reanimate, engulfed with darkness and energy.

Anessa (link in sig) is currently injured and lost in the forest/mountainside that lies east of Stormward and west of Vintel, after events in Stormward that I have yet to RP (or write myself, as the case may needs be). She knows that she can get the healing she needs in Vintel, so she needs to get there safely, but the region is treacherous. If you have a character who would be in the area and willing to help her get there safely, message in this thread and we can create in IC thread. I'm looking for one other person, and I know in the tags I say once per three days, but I would really prefer once per day if at all possible. For this RP I'm looking for a player who is more interested in character interactions than anything else. There might be some light survival elements, and I anticipate very minor combat at best, hopefully. If you're interested, post here, and then we can move to PM if it feels appropriate, or continue discussing in this thread.

Tobais nodded at the mate he saw sitting before him and wiped away her tear. " It's in befting to cry in a place such as this. So one might take adventage of you. Course you seem to string for that..." Alishar peeked around the corner hoping that guy was gone. He really wanted to ask his new found friend if he could hide inside of her until the other gave up looking for him. After all she would help stifle his presence and hide his BRIGHTNESS. He looked like a neon sign.

    The March of the Damned

Shipbound is a terrible state of being for the energetic and restless, the eager and hopeful. With perfect sea-legs that adjusted for the rolling deck without skipping a beat, one of the stranger passengers on this ill-advised journey flit about one of the vessels making way to Genesaris. Shiny yellow boots squeaked with each step in concert with the clunking and groaning of water-weathered wood as she found herself exploring every nook and cranny of her confinement, making sure to greet all she came across with a cheerful and friendly demeanor before moving along. She hit a soft spot with the minotaur known as Gruche, though whether it was for her monstrous origins, bubbly personality, or her show of physical prowess while helping with the toil of sailing was yet to be seen. She displayed a fondness for the bear known as Tora, and could often be found sitting on his back while the two meandered about in their downtime. The girl's name was Aralyn, a half-slime from a place far away from here. This ship was going to where he was. Finally, her long journey would bear fruit, her goal obtained along with a precious memory! She didn't know what lie beyond that, and didn't really care. Lyn was the epidemy of a laid back, go at your own pace kind of person, usually living in the present and worrying only about her next meal or the next thing she would do that was fun. For her, life was truly nothing more than a journey with no real destination. After helping throw some kegs overboard, a task even the massive Gruche found grunt inducing, the little blue slime in the yellow rubber raincoat noticed the crow's nest atop the mast for the first time, and immediately made to scale it. Her hands, while not especially deft, easily bore her aloft with their impressive strength and propensity to cling and mold to anything they touched with ease. She hummed a tune she made up while watching the ocean roar below and listened to the caw of gulls rushing by on salted winds. Her brow raised and her head cocked to the side when she heard a commotion below and saw land rushing to meet the unfaltering ship. She stood up on the rim of the nest, holding onto the mast with an arm that stretched to allow her to lean over and try to get a better look at things. A massive jolt dislodged the girl, flinging over off her perch and cackling with joy at the sudden excitement of falling through the air. She flipped end over end, her arms extended out to the sides without a care as she plummeted 80 feet to the hard, unforgiving earth. Splat! she impacted, her body flattening plush against the rocky ground, turning her into nothing more than a blue puddle. Almost as quickly, the slime reformed into a smiling girl who giggled and looked around at all the moving people. Confused at this sudden change in status quo, she trotted off to find Tora or Gruche.

I'm interested, and I have at least one character that would be in, well, many different areas truth be told, I don't have them pinned down to one set, though I do have a quest going in Terrenus, but that's a self driven one and I am ahead in my work on that then what is already posted, mainly for the reason that I like to have something to work on when I don't have anything else to work on... ya know?.

Thanks for the interest ODSTDRAGON but I think I'm good with the one thread we have right now. I'd like to expand and try to RP with more people around the site.

    Tavern Brawl [Chat T1 Match]

Annabelle took a deep breath, her body getting prepared for the battle that was to come, her muscles stretched and ready. The match was just about to begin, and she wanted to be prepared for all that it would bring, no matter what physical or mental hardships it dared to throw at her. With her left shoulder forward, she placed her left foot ahead of her, her left hand still on the hilt of her sheathed weapon, her stance was now complete. Their arena was in the middle of a local tavern, words were said, whether misunderstood or otherwise, and now they would fight to settle things. Normally she was not one for petty fights in bars, but this wasn't an ordinary opponent, so she took it as her next learning session. Chairs, tables and people were all pushed back to give them room, twenty feet between them, with the eight foot bar about five feet to Annabelle's left. With all the people backed up, they had about fifteen feet in the radius, until it was broken up by the wall and bar, something of a semi circle. "I'm ready, lets do this." @Robbie Rotten

    Tavern of Legend: Season 2

A newcomer to the town, the man in shining armor walked along the cobblestone path of the small city. He was in awe at the sites and buildings presented to him, as they were much different from those he had gotten used to in the countryside; villages there were far and few between, and seperated by miles of wilderness, and rough roads. The sun was being drawn down from the sky once again, only to once more be replaced by the moon. He took this as a sign to go to a tavern, and relax. Quite conveniently, there was one nearby. Locals, from what he had heard, had called this towering tavern the "Tavern of Legends". As he got closer to the entrance of the tavern, he began to notice the weight of his pack, and armor, as well as the amount of stress and tension in his muscles. The moon was correct; it seemed he did indeed need to relax. He approached the entrance, and opened the door to the tavern, entering as he did so, and only slightly noticing the sign assuring him it was the correct tavern. As he scanned the tavern, he realized that he would get little to no rest while he was down here, though after contemplating getting a room, he decided to stay in the bottom floor. He had not eaten nearly all day. He decided to approach the bar, then, as he quickly realized he could fix that problem. The buck he had downed earlier that day seemed to show its use, in his mind. He approached the bar quickly, and sat down at an empty stool, as he knew no one in this town. He then quickly laid his pack on the ground, and pulled out a bit of wax paper, wrapped around the bulk of an object, about ten lbs (~ 4.54 kg) in weight. The bottom of the paper was stained with a dark red blood, but it was not as though it was dripping blood. The blood seemed more-so dried. He placed the object on the counter, and motioned for the bartender to come toward him. Then, he began to relax, and let out a relieved sigh. He then sat there, and pulled the helmet off of his head and put it into his pack. This revealed black, well kept hair that extended to his shoulders, and got a bit curly near the bottom. Similar to a mullet. He also wore a rough shaven beard on his face. "My name, is Isua." He stated silently, to no one in particular.

Annabelle's judgment faltered in her assumption that Dryston would pull back in order to stab her--he had no need to pull back on his weapon in order to do so, he merely had to push it forward. Though pulling back to give the thrust more momentum could be used to put more force behind the blow, it was by no means necessary, and since his opponent did not wear armor Dryston did not see fit to engage in such a "wind-up" action. Annabelle thus did not have an opportunity to get within striking distance before performing her spin attack, which, since it moved her sideways but not forwards, would not bring her close enough for her sword to connect. That was a good thing too, because Dryston really didn't fancy getting hit with those flames. This magic did have an obvious tell, and he was glad that it simply passed close by him instead of hitting him directly. Fire was...... not something he handled well, even with layers of metal and cloth to insulate him against it. While Annabelle's sudden spin had caused his initial retaliatory stab to whiff, the sheathing of her blade had also told him where her next attack would come from, as its position on one side of her waist guaranteed that she would need to swing in the corresponding direction when she drew it. So he was ready to react by whipping his weapon to the side right along with her--by spinning instead of simply sidestepping, she'd used more energy than necessary to adjust her position, not to mention taking her eyes off of the spear for the duration of the maneuver as she whirled about. This would make it difficult for her to avoid the spearhead's bladed sides slashing into her belly. It was not designed primarily as a cutting weapon, so the wounds would not be grievous, but the flaring edges that adorned its broadhead point still made it a threat with such attacks.

"Well it's not everyday I meet another Shifter, ya know?" He shrugged as he asked the question, trying to emphasize his words. "Besides, I know I acted a bit in distaste," he began. "But eh, that's what I do Fuzz-ball. I'm mean, that's my forte." He looked around before looking at him. "What are you doing here anyways?"

    Tavern Brawl [Chat T1 Match]

Dryston's eyes narrowed at his opponent's words. He'd been unsure up to this point whether the girl really wanted to go through with this, or whether she was just bluffing to act tough. Turned out it wasn't an act. Shame, he didn't like hurting women, especially not young ones..... but what morals he'd had were quickly slipping away these days it seemed. He turned his body so that the span of his shoulders ran parallel to the girl's blade, offering it the smallest available surface area to stab at. Slashing attacks would be substantially less effective against Dryston's black plate armor than stabs, and much harder to get past the reach of his spear. His weapon stood at slightly over his own height, measuring six and a half feet in length, and featured an iron-capped spike on its butt in addition to its broadhead tip. It was nowhere near the size of his ordinary lance, but that was a weapon meant to be braced from atop a mount, not for personal combat on foot; and Dryston hardly thought it would be fair to bring his wyvern into this bout. Though he could call the creature at a moment's notice, and it would likely give a swift and messy end to this girl, he would face her himself instead. This was a matter of honor, not of survival. Holding the spear in both hands spaced at approximately shoulder width, Dryston lowered its point to the height of the girl's own torso, a position from he could easily twitch it in any direction to skewer her if she attempted to close under or around it. "If you're sure."

Alyssa's face was burning. She didn't know what it was that she felt. Was it... Jealousy? But as Ameli started to heal Conner, she felt emotionally traumatised for no reason at all. Alyssa wasn't a sensitive girl, but she held vivid images of Conner forcing the blade into his side, a selfless move that had saved all of them from a body snatcher. She dismissed the thought as her loyalty to people whom she was indebted to. Her last romantic relation ended dramatically. She wasn't prepared to have another anytime soon. She looked at Ameli again, silently cursing to herself.

Looking at the other shifter, he huffed as he stormed off. Granted he didn't prefer the company of most people, but he found the people in this tavern to be amusing and better than most. Taking the form of a mouse, he snuck over and climbed up onto the table before looking at the other shifter, the silver mouse squeaking.

Aeon pointed to the man on the opposing side of the room, the rather large man not noticing. "I don't think he's much for dying yet. He's my friend, Thyumir." Aeon corrected his statement after a moment. "When I say friend, I mean he's agreed not to kill me for all the bullshit I give him."

"Like DUDE, can they freaking shut up," Conner complained to nobody in particular, but he regretted it soon after, as the exersion of pressure upon his lungs caused more blood to spill from his wound. He glanced pitifully at Alyssa, hoping she would go and stop whatever commotion was happening.

He stood up and grabbed the man's collar as he began to transform into the lizard man the man who looked identical to him once was. "You should watch your tongue, you never know who you might be messing with." It truly was an awkward situation looking on from the outside. To patrons who might be drunk, or to the unobservant, it might have looked like they had switched clothes somehow, which to some might have been observed as magic, or as something extremely kinky. This however was not something such as that. It had seemed that two shapshifters in one way or another, had met. And boy how he hated people like him, they reminded him of himself, a monster and a beast unworthy of love or compassion. "Let me be clear with you. Don't think I wanted to be like this... a monster. So if you want something, shift into something normal and I'll forget this ever happened."

Conner chuckled at Edric's statement, but immediately regretted it as his abdomen instantly filled with a burning sensation. He winced, "Jesus Edric, do you know how ironic it is that I had to help a shieldbearer block a sword?" His black cloak hung on the rack in the room they had rented for a night. "I'm afraid that we will have to burden their accommodation. It appears that my mobility may be an issue," Conner sighed. Even he was surprised at his own endurance. Mages simply weren't meant to take direct hits. But Conner wasn't a mage, nor a warrior. He was something in between, but nobody had ever came up with a reasonable description. He glanced at Edric and Alyssa. Maybe he had finally found a group that he could trust. He couldn't understand why he sacrificed himself during the battle. It was something that he never would have done. He looked at Alyssa and his heart softened. Perhaps that was what had triggered his emotions.
