"Hey!" The tiny mouse squeaked, seeing the look on his face. He decided to shift back into normal, after getting off the table and sitting in a seat. "Remind me not to turn into a mouse again around you." Aeon commented, looking at him with a non hostile look. He wasn't trying to pick a fight, and his last comment was meant as a joke, even if it didn't sound like it.

Daoda | To Erect an Empire!

The haunt from her voice carried by the wind was almost impossible to distinguish for somebody, unlike Kenshi. While, out in the open he could hear at an impressive five miles away. Though as the unit traveled further in the forest, his hearing stretched to only three miles. The Blind Ookami picked up on the mysterious woman's beckon, calling out to, Heika Chijono. A temporary profound, anxiety would halt his march from progressing. His mind would dwell in the possibilities of what might unfold in the coming hour or so. Surely, the young warlord must have heard his calling, but then again, the rising dragon emperor might not been so readily at attention like Kenshi. Suddenly, his train of thought interrupted from the rear, Athena would break the silence. He wouldn't exactly turn his head to face that direction until, she suggested that he, being of their latest gatherers went to patrol the area ahead with some othera. Ideally, he was okay with that, but don't go pitch in aide from someone already a step ahead of the rest of the squad. Especially, not Momoku. In a once-over glance, he stared her down, silver daggers in place of his half lidded eyes. The scowl on his face indicating, he was not so much a comrade as she mentioned. Nor was the guardian up for open grabs like a rag doll, or puppet; couldn't spell TEAM, with the letter I. They were crammed aboard the fishermen boat, but that didn't technically mean they knew each other enough to engage in free, open conversation. This was a reserved young man, in tune with mind, body and soul that would rather spare time wiayy Mother Nature and her surroundings, than to those he did not wish to currently know. Besides, Kenshi didn't serve the Datsuzoku empire just, yet. The daiookami humphed lowly in dissatisfaction as if to oppose, crunching his teeth in the juiciness of the sweet Fuji apple he would dispose of it with just the core, casting it among a shrub of small bushes. Turning towards the opposite direction, he would begin his walk all over again. Right foot taking lead first, padded zori would clomp against the compact ground of forestry. Soon after, the spiritual warrior's danger, detecting sixth sense that left it's unsettling, queasiness in his underbelly fainted and finally disappeared. An irritated smirk at the sight of Jobboku trees crossed his thinned lips, shaking his head from left-to-right as he would seem to have found the source of demonic energy in the vicinity and could finally, loosen up. Maybe, maybe not. These children of the trees maintained their fresh appearances by sucking blood from the dead in former battlefields. The ex-Tadokuro Regime General recognized them distinctively by the large-quantities of lifeblood which stored in their branches. There was a natural abundance of these trees back in the Yokai realm; the fact they also grew in these new lands, slightly peaked Kenshi's lack of impression. Perhaps this trip towards another chapter of longevity, wasn't half as bad as he anticipated. So Koji gave orders for him, Athena and Dove to disperse ahead of the already established group? Kenshi would rather risk dying by his loyal sword than, to trust the likes of the others and not too mention, more demons. Hell, he felt it may been best to kept a mindful third eye on what Koji's true aspirations may really been during his rise. Momoku should have been the cold, half carnivorous vessel. Yet he wasn't. But who's to say that wouldn't later change? To serve as scouts? How dull and unthrilling. Instead of speaking how the canine truly felt, trusting a group of strangers was out of the question. So refraining from opening his large maw Kenshi silently, kept about a few yards ahead of the crew. The first droplets of rain rolled down his paled high cheek bones as the Blind ronin gazed to look at the big, floating world above. A clamorous applause of lightning among greying thick clouds now cluttered the great, vast skies. He took the slimmed index from his right hand, brushed it gently over the spot on his face with disbelief. - it was going to pour soon and the Master didn't bring his paper parasol! Oh my.... (sorry to have not quoted anyone.)

"That looks... delicious.." Edric mumbled, silently hoping that she wouldn't make him eat it. "Is it edible?" Edric asked, just as the girl turned it into a black cloud of nothingness, "Nevermind.." Edric recognized the magic. It was dark magic, one of the weaker forms of constructive magic, which were made to create or to generate energy or matter, such as fireballs or ions. Dark Magic was created only for the sole purpose of destroying. Matter afflicted by Darkness was consumed and never found ever again. Energy corrupted by darkness would feed the spellcaster with mana. He had never liked shady characters, but this girl was too hot to resist. So he pretended to be listening to her explanation, beaming charmingly. "The name is Edric, may I inquire yours?"

"Aah.. A pity that our paths do not cross," Rachel commented solemnly, "I do not seek riches, wealth or power." She stooped to a low whisper, "I come to practice the dark arts." In her hand, a phantasm conjured itself, snaking around like a little wraith in her palm. "It is difficult. Magic like this draws energy from my life force to sustain itself," Rachel mumbled, her eyes fixated on her palm. The Phantasm snaked around, its sides rippling with dark energy, with a hunger for destruction. "But if used correctly..." Rachel stopped talking to recite a spell. The Wraith suddenly slowed down. "...it can create new life." The wraith began to solidify, flesh starting to build around its core. In a matter of seconds, a small lizard rested on her palm, snoring pleasantly. "But as I said, it comes with a cost," her body turned pale as a little bit of her life force was sapped from her to fuel the new life form.

Well there's me I'm officially the boss although I typically let the group break up to find their own quests. Of course comming along with any one of us grants reward. As for my Goals? Get as much money as I can in this one shot at life, and to have fun doing it. The other two are Alishar, real nice guy trying to make a living doing what he can where he can he loves adventure , books, and fun. Although he's a body snatcher so mind the touch but unlike most others he's kind and can't force you to do anything. Then there's Cerbaus our favorite psychopath. You can probably point him out right now. Gas mask and a trench coat smells like death and dirt. He's apathetic towards the living and revers the dead. He loves undead but prefers to see them at rest instead of up and about. You take a job with him, prepare to get bloodied up. Take a job with me expect to get a good pay day, and take one with Alishar expect some pleasant errands or sightseeing that pays ok. We have an unofficially member Ameli. She's the tallest person or at least female here lab coat. She's got a soft spot and she's really kind. Motherly kind. Do something with her you'll see some speed but often little to no pay. A huge barbarian of a woman may join us when she sobers up with a possibility of a few more intresting people.

Rachel glanced up and adjusted her spectacles. She saw a fox masked man and a very tall girl whom she had never seen before, casually strolling towards them. Just to add to the irony, Edric started to look frantically between them. 'Playboy..' she thought in her mind. "We are just acquainting ourselves, nothing more," she saved Edric from the embarrassment that she knew was to come.

Being approached like that by a stranger, and with the funny look that Edric shot her, Rachel didn't know whether to say hi, slap him, or both. He clearly was appalled by what he saw however. "Don't worry, its not in any pain. Its sentient because I impose my mind upon it," she explained to Edric, tapping the frog on the head, causing it to dissolve into dark matter. She dusted the black particles away from her face and sneezed. She was uncomfortable with Edric being so close to her, but had he any dubious intentions, her wand was within arm's reach on the table, and her staff lay propped against a pillar next to her.

Leaving Conner and Alyssa in the room to recuperate, Edric decided to take a stroll around the tavern, to see if there were any interesting folk to try his hand at. He noticed two new arrivals. A white haired man in an eye patch, and a student girl whom was in her late 20s, dressed in a purple uniform and spectacles. On the table infront of her, a frog emitted black odour. What was this new cooking style? Edric had never seen that before. Would they only allow this girl to try it just because of her gender?! That wasn't fair! Edric decisively approached her, sitting on the seat right next to her at the bar. "Some delicious meat you got there," Edric tried at small talk (To no Avail :D). To his horror, the frog started to twitch.

Rachel was afraid. She was afraid of being judged. Afraid of being persecuted. Everywhere she went, she was afraid of being treated like a disease, like how her childhood was. As she strode up the stone path to the tavern, she tapped nervously on her purple mage academy uniform. She was afraid that people would recognize her, and realize that she was a dropout. Well, she hadn't exactly dropped out, she just wasn't practicing the magic that the school encouraged. As she stood before the tavern door, she took off her spectacles and wiped them dry. She stepped awkwardly into the tavern, and quickly found a place at the bar, not wanting to attract attention to herself. She requested a skewered frog for her meal. When the frog came, she opened a small notebook that she kept in her uniform pocket. She quietly cast her spell. The frog began to reanimate, engulfed with darkness and energy.

Edric gazed cluelessly at Alyssa, "I seriously don't remember anything." He shrugged. "By the way, I saw the hole you left in the wall. Given your physique, it appears that you gain weight when you are 'Hit Hard'," Edric mused. "Besides, I doubt a sniper would know first hand what its like to take the brunt of an attack."

A young man in his 20s, dressed in a black overcoat, with white hair and an eyepatch, walked down the road to the tavern. As he did so, Isaiah noticed several blood stains left on the ground, as well as a human body-shaped hole on the wall of the tavern. He found it rather unsettling. As he pushed open the door of the tavern, a rush of air burst into his face, and he was greeted by an impossibly large complex of chairs, tables, floors, and stairs. After both his parents were killed by the disease that had spread ever rapidly in his province, Isaiah had no choice but to seek shelter elsewhere. He looked down gloomily at the few coins that he could spare. All he wanted was a family.

Anessa (link in sig) is currently injured and lost in the forest/mountainside that lies east of Stormward and west of Vintel, after events in Stormward that I have yet to RP (or write myself, as the case may needs be). She knows that she can get the healing she needs in Vintel, so she needs to get there safely, but the region is treacherous. If you have a character who would be in the area and willing to help her get there safely, message in this thread and we can create in IC thread. I'm looking for one other person, and I know in the tags I say once per three days, but I would really prefer once per day if at all possible. For this RP I'm looking for a player who is more interested in character interactions than anything else. There might be some light survival elements, and I anticipate very minor combat at best, hopefully. If you're interested, post here, and then we can move to PM if it feels appropriate, or continue discussing in this thread.

    Tavern Brawl [Chat T1 Match]

Annabelle took a deep breath, her body getting prepared for the battle that was to come, her muscles stretched and ready. The match was just about to begin, and she wanted to be prepared for all that it would bring, no matter what physical or mental hardships it dared to throw at her. With her left shoulder forward, she placed her left foot ahead of her, her left hand still on the hilt of her sheathed weapon, her stance was now complete. Their arena was in the middle of a local tavern, words were said, whether misunderstood or otherwise, and now they would fight to settle things. Normally she was not one for petty fights in bars, but this wasn't an ordinary opponent, so she took it as her next learning session. Chairs, tables and people were all pushed back to give them room, twenty feet between them, with the eight foot bar about five feet to Annabelle's left. With all the people backed up, they had about fifteen feet in the radius, until it was broken up by the wall and bar, something of a semi circle. "I'm ready, lets do this." @Robbie Rotten

Annabelle's judgment faltered in her assumption that Dryston would pull back in order to stab her--he had no need to pull back on his weapon in order to do so, he merely had to push it forward. Though pulling back to give the thrust more momentum could be used to put more force behind the blow, it was by no means necessary, and since his opponent did not wear armor Dryston did not see fit to engage in such a "wind-up" action. Annabelle thus did not have an opportunity to get within striking distance before performing her spin attack, which, since it moved her sideways but not forwards, would not bring her close enough for her sword to connect. That was a good thing too, because Dryston really didn't fancy getting hit with those flames. This magic did have an obvious tell, and he was glad that it simply passed close by him instead of hitting him directly. Fire was...... not something he handled well, even with layers of metal and cloth to insulate him against it. While Annabelle's sudden spin had caused his initial retaliatory stab to whiff, the sheathing of her blade had also told him where her next attack would come from, as its position on one side of her waist guaranteed that she would need to swing in the corresponding direction when she drew it. So he was ready to react by whipping his weapon to the side right along with her--by spinning instead of simply sidestepping, she'd used more energy than necessary to adjust her position, not to mention taking her eyes off of the spear for the duration of the maneuver as she whirled about. This would make it difficult for her to avoid the spearhead's bladed sides slashing into her belly. It was not designed primarily as a cutting weapon, so the wounds would not be grievous, but the flaring edges that adorned its broadhead point still made it a threat with such attacks.

    Tavern Brawl [Chat T1 Match]

Dryston's eyes narrowed at his opponent's words. He'd been unsure up to this point whether the girl really wanted to go through with this, or whether she was just bluffing to act tough. Turned out it wasn't an act. Shame, he didn't like hurting women, especially not young ones..... but what morals he'd had were quickly slipping away these days it seemed. He turned his body so that the span of his shoulders ran parallel to the girl's blade, offering it the smallest available surface area to stab at. Slashing attacks would be substantially less effective against Dryston's black plate armor than stabs, and much harder to get past the reach of his spear. His weapon stood at slightly over his own height, measuring six and a half feet in length, and featured an iron-capped spike on its butt in addition to its broadhead tip. It was nowhere near the size of his ordinary lance, but that was a weapon meant to be braced from atop a mount, not for personal combat on foot; and Dryston hardly thought it would be fair to bring his wyvern into this bout. Though he could call the creature at a moment's notice, and it would likely give a swift and messy end to this girl, he would face her himself instead. This was a matter of honor, not of survival. Holding the spear in both hands spaced at approximately shoulder width, Dryston lowered its point to the height of the girl's own torso, a position from he could easily twitch it in any direction to skewer her if she attempted to close under or around it. "If you're sure."

Aeon pointed to the man on the opposing side of the room, the rather large man not noticing. "I don't think he's much for dying yet. He's my friend, Thyumir." Aeon corrected his statement after a moment. "When I say friend, I mean he's agreed not to kill me for all the bullshit I give him."

"The dent is where I threw a big rock at the side of his head."

He stood up and grabbed the man's collar as he began to transform into the lizard man the man who looked identical to him once was. "You should watch your tongue, you never know who you might be messing with." It truly was an awkward situation looking on from the outside. To patrons who might be drunk, or to the unobservant, it might have looked like they had switched clothes somehow, which to some might have been observed as magic, or as something extremely kinky. This however was not something such as that. It had seemed that two shapshifters in one way or another, had met. And boy how he hated people like him, they reminded him of himself, a monster and a beast unworthy of love or compassion. "Let me be clear with you. Don't think I wanted to be like this... a monster. So if you want something, shift into something normal and I'll forget this ever happened."

Conner chuckled at Edric's statement, but immediately regretted it as his abdomen instantly filled with a burning sensation. He winced, "Jesus Edric, do you know how ironic it is that I had to help a shieldbearer block a sword?" His black cloak hung on the rack in the room they had rented for a night. "I'm afraid that we will have to burden their accommodation. It appears that my mobility may be an issue," Conner sighed. Even he was surprised at his own endurance. Mages simply weren't meant to take direct hits. But Conner wasn't a mage, nor a warrior. He was something in between, but nobody had ever came up with a reasonable description. He glanced at Edric and Alyssa. Maybe he had finally found a group that he could trust. He couldn't understand why he sacrificed himself during the battle. It was something that he never would have done. He looked at Alyssa and his heart softened. Perhaps that was what had triggered his emotions.
