Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

Oh, the card... ...not really a logical chain of thought to call the Branch Manager of the Lunaris branch of Silverbush Bank to tell PRIME that Lillith and her paragons can rapidly redeploy anywhere... ...on Valucre really... ...at will.

Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

Really? Neither Thurgood nor Aveline have ever stepped foot in Port Mars since being promoted to nobility! The Uldwars would capture, torture, and impale Vlad-Dracula style either of them for even daring to go near Misral now!

yeah, except he doesn't have her number...

Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

Also kind of need to know how the hell Aveline can contact PRIME on her phone. Pretty important information to pass along... ...and I want to roleplay it as the four defenders drive to Parrish (since it's on the way to Nu Martyr). @Aleksei

Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

Since not everybody is putting their side and location at the top of their post, or in many cases in it, Where abouts is everybody? Thurgood and Aveline are leaving Keto, driving southwest towards Nu Martyr, and will likely need to go through or around Parrish.

dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same

Defenders- Leaving Keto It had been a tense fight with the shambling horde back to the truck, but Thurgood, Aveline, Vivian, and Nadia manage to get in and take off before the undead got too numerous. "D'ya think we can make it to Nu Martyr in time for this information to do any good?" Aveline asks. "Well 'less our phone work here, it's our only option," Thurgood replies. Since Thurgood is driving, Aveline takes out her smartphone, and is surprised to see that it has service! So she then makes a call to "zero" hoping that it will get her to an operator, or at the very least play her an error message that tells her how to get in contact with one. "It's ringing..."

Well, this is what a .50 BMG FMJ does to ballistics gel... ...now imagine if the bullet opens up within the first half-inch...

Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

Would an electroshock weapon like a Taser X26 still disrupt Lillith's neural signals, or is she immune to that too?
  10. Challara's opinion is that these creatures are highly organized, and if the Order of the White Hand does nothing to break, disrupt, or even address that organization, she'll refuse to be a part of the suicide campaign.
  11. Do one or more of your characters have an overarching belief that shapes them? Does it come from their faith, experience, or something else? For example, Thurgood Singlance believes (and he would actually say this if he has an opportunity) "There's nothing thought that can't be done, yet there's nothing done that can't be thought or undone, but there's nothing undone that can't be done again. There's nothing built that can't be destroyed, yet there's nothing destroyed that can't be rebuilt. Nothing rises that can't fall, yet nothing that falls can't rise again. Noyhing started can't be stopped, yet nothing stopped can't be restarted. Nobody that lives can't die, yet nobody that dies can't live again. Nothing good can't become evil, yet nothing evil that can't become good. Nothing orderly can't become chaotic, yet nothing chaotic can't become orderly. There's nothing true that can't be made false, yet nothing false that can't be made true. There's nothing strong that can't be weakened, yet nothing weak that can't be strengthened. Naturally, everything tends towards extremes, but seeks balanced neutrality. Everything is temporary yet oh so permanent. This existence is made of opposites and paradoxes, and the sooner you understand that, the... ...better? No, not worse either... ...the more complete your... ...comprehension of everything will be."

Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

Wait, Thurgood's unknown (at least to him) ability would make Aveline's phone work on the different microwave communication protocols in Nu Martyr if need be...

Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

Of course, the fact that Lilith and her paragons can just engage a shitload of zombies and jet off could very well just make a mokery of that entire plan!

Defenders- Keto As Shane did the smoke-jump thing, Aveline took pictures while Thurgood switched over to video and managed to get the end of the takeoff. This is bad. With this rapid redeployment ability, Lillith and her paragons can start an engagement with the defenders with hordes of zombies, then just jet the fuck outta there while the defenders are still dealing with the cannon fodder to attack somewhere else. This also makes trapping any of them absolutely impossible. The fact they can do this at will is something PRIME and the other defenders must know about! So completely forgoing stealth, as the departure of Lillith and her main forces means it's not needed that much anyways. The focus now is to get to the truck and get their asses to Nu Martyr.
  15. notmuch_23

What is your character's overarching belief?

Aveline Singlance: "Find somebody, anybody; can be a parent, child, friend, romantic partner, mentor, sibling, that you trust with absolutely everything, including your back, life, ass, money, deepest secrets, and heart. Then hang onto that person harder than you've hung on to anybody else, no matter what happens. Anything and everything you face, be it threat, betrayal, abuse, the afterlife, or whatever, is bearable when you know for an absolute fact that one person exists that will always give a fuck about you."

dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same

Defenders- Keto As Shane moves to rejoin Lillith's main force, Thurgood and Aveline abandon their plan to take him out, but instead use their smartphones thorugh their scopes to capture his image. Then they plan to get pictures of the rest of the Paragons, Lilith Reiter, their current forces, any intelligence they can to pass on to the rest of the defenders, likely through PRIME. All four maintain their stealth as Shane Haydes leads them right to the center of the action, with Vivian and Nadia picking up his scent so they can track him later. Until the forces, and more importantly the paragons split, this is really all they can do to bolster the defending forces After all, resources spent on gathering information are far from wasted. @Tyler @Ataraxy

Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

It would be a suicide mission for Thurgood and Aveline to attack full out right now!
  18. notmuch_23

Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

Yeah, Thurgood and Aveline are going to wait until the paragons separate to pick them off. Honestly, as long as Shane stays close to Lillith, he's safe from Aveline's scope.
  19. notmuch_23

Lilith Brings War to Nu Martyr

Nah, Aveline doesn't remember Shane, and if she did, would not really care. So, how do you want to play this out? Obviously Thurgood and Aveline want to kill Shane, along with every other Paragon.
  20. notmuch_23

What emotion best describes your character?

Thurgood- determination (turned up to 11) Aveline- disappointment Challara- confusion

dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same

Defenders- outskirts of Keto Thurgood thpight about trying to disturb the magical circle, but there's just too much concentrated force for that to happen. Instead of the siblings taking action now, they opt to study the paragons, see which one to target first. Among the paragons, one in particular stands out: a punk trying to imitate Trogdor the Burninator. Neither one knows his name, but just from their short observation, they figure him as a disorganized and impatient individual, and not as powerful as the other paragons: perfect for finding out whether Lilith's paragons are vulnerable to a .50 BMG boat-tail bullet. Thurgood packs his spotting scope, and Aveline folds the bipod on her Barrett, then both leave their observation spot as stealthily as they arrived, to stalk and eliminate their quarry. @Tyler

    Highway to Hell

Time to wake up the workers too. Thurgood lit the fire in the boiler before bringing his chainsaws to the camp, now thinking that the crew will need them to cut the logs for the retaining walls. By the time he got back, there was plenty of steam pressure. So he drives the shovel baxk towards camp. As Sebastian is waking the security detail, Thurgood yanks a small overhead rope to open a valve to the steam whistle. Its shriek pierces every tent and vibrates every eardrum in the camp. "Get'cher asses up! We got a cut to dig and retaining walls to build. Hitch the horses to the carts and light a fire in the roller. Get those hammers bustin' rock."

    Taen and Ursa Madeum AMA

Awww, so Thurgood and Aveline won't take their chainsaws to the courtyard to remove the ugly tree that the (internally) ugly man turned into?

dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same

It came as a shock when the Imperial messenger arrived at the site, as Thurgood, Aveline, Vivian, and Nadia were busy building their manor. The message, straight from Emperor Demetrius, was a simple one: Nu Martyr is in danger, including Port Sun. Send any assistance to defend the province. Unlike the other noble houses, House Singlance does not have any military forces, Fuck, they don't even have a manor here yet, and only two members! How the fuck does Titus expect them to defend Nu Martyr? Not conventionally, that's for damn sure. Thurgood and Aveline then immediately drive back to Lunaris to gear up before taking the next aerostat flight to Port Sun, bringing Vivian and Nadia with them, and inviting their prospect, Josh Rhymer, to join as well, which it would be in his best interest to do. Their plan is simple, yet complicated: continually harass and stymie the enemy, picking off high-value targets, disrupting movements, and crippling logistical support. It's classic asymmetrical warfare focusing on winning the war rather than just a series of battles. Right now, Thurgood and Aveline hide out at the edge of the city. Aveline is using the scope on her Barrett M82, and Thurgood is using his spotting scope to watch. That's all they're doing though: watching and learning. Striking now would be suicide: the cult's reprisal will be swift and sure. So they wait... ...for now...

I'm kind of wondering how Thurgoid and/or Aveline will learn of this from Ursa Madeum or Taen...
