    Sounds good.
I suggest that maybe we have to stop at a town to get supplies.

    I am in CDT.
I might be free on Sunday, but I am not sure. I will need to look into it.

Carol was still a little skeptical about the journey, but was determined to return alive. She gripped her reins with a strength that wasn't based off her muscle, but her will to arrive to the destination. Carol sighed, and followed behind the small group of horses. She drew a small smile, eager to step away from that tavern for once.

Carol looked at the ring, quite stumped by it. She pondered about its importance, if it had some sort of power. Carol went towards the man with the carriage and engaged in conversation with him. The two spoke awhile, Carol trying to rent the carriage for a cheap amount.
"10 credits!?" Carol shrieked dumbfounded at the high price. "What if I just bought all of the horses?"
The man pondered for a moment, interested in getting a deal. "Two for each horse," he said, warily stating a price.
Carol decided that was still too much. "What about half a credit for each?"
The man wouldn't take the price. "Too low, one and a half?"
Carol knew she could get it lower. "Three quarters of a credit each"
The man shook his head. "No." Carol started to turn back and walk away, not wanting to deal with the man anymore. "Ok, ok! 1 credit for each horse, with saddles included!"
Carol's face grew a big smile.
    "Deal."

Carol smiled, and knew what must happen. With everything back in her bag and her cup of tea, she gestured Nat to stand up and walked over to the dead woman. "Perhaps maybe there is a quest we can go on?" she asked, looking at the woman and then back at Nat. Carol's itch for adventure was suddenly back, and bigger than before.

Not that she remembered, but in her past life, Lady Abalena was known for her intimidating gaze. Her dark eyes could crumple the wills of warriors. Now, watching Carol avoid them made those memories dance on her brain like a name would on the tip of someone's tongue. She ran her hands uselessly over the creases of her decaying dress with a frustrated air. Her fingers passed over a frigid lump netted into the lace of her dress. She turned the material over and found that the lump was particular to the upside of the lace, as if it didn't exist on the other side. She studied the flat mesh curiously. She turned it over, inexplicably feeling some weight on the spot where the mass manifested. She clinched the fabric in her left fist, concentrating on the discontinuity of the situation. She drew her fist back, the fabric protesting, heating up, and then cooling to its cold temperature. She felt a second object corporealize from the lace. She opened her palm and found the delicate material of her skirt and a mysterious obsidian ring in it.

He should have expected the question, yet somehow Nat was caught off guard by it. He was all well and interested in the weapon she showcased, but blanked for a moment at her final question. "I don't really know, anymore." He responded with honesty. "I suppose I need to get that figured out. Hard to live without  a living." Nat then admits. He supposed he wasn't too bad off though. He still had his armor and he still had his weapons. He also still had his wit, and was able-bodied. "Perhaps you know of some work?" He asks, jokingly, but only sort of. He finishes off the mug in his hand and sets it down unceremoniously.

Carol grins, thinking of the moments of the past. All of those times she had to wrap herself up, give herself some terrible tasting concoction, or even kill a dragon. "I have enough experience to say I have." She looked at her pistol again after sipping her tea. Carol found it when she was on her first scouting mission, just lying on the ground. Back then she had no idea of what it truly was. She picked it up and dismantled it quickly, giving Nat a crash course on how it worked. "It's made of metal and wood, and is quite easy to use." She reassembled it just as quickly, and slipped it back into her bag. It is considered barbaric in someplaces, but it is pretty useful." Carol thought of her first time hunting a dragon, and how easily the bullet flew through its skull. She remembered firing the last shot at the battle, finishing off the general for good.
"What about you? What do you do for a living?"

With a small laugh, Nat couldn't help the grin on his face. "Ah, right. One of those." He tucked his long hair back behind his ear and took yet another sip. He supposed it made sense. A great many peoples didn't have magic and still required help. Medicinal aid. He nodded at his own thoughts as he put them to words "It's a honorable thing to learn. I probably should have paid more attention to it. Seems like it would be useful to know. Have you ever had to administer upon your self?" he asks as he eyes her removing a weapon and placing it upon the leaf. I guess he was getting the 411 on all things Carol today. "That looks decidedly lethal." He comments.

Carol sipped her tea again, glancing back at Natheniel. She was quite surprised that he mistook her healing as magic. "Of course I don't have a magical talent. I use what I can around me, whether it is the leaves of plants or the chemicals made from factories." She sighed and took out yet another medicinal product. It was some sulfa powder, her last tube. "I put this on open wounds, so they aren't infected. I may not heal as quick as magicians, but I still can do my job just as well." She put the tube back in her bag, and found her pistol. Carol decided it would be a good idea to show him it, to not hide anything. She took it out and put it on the leaf. "This is how I defend myself. It is an original .45 Luger, back from where I came from." Carol decided she would save the story of her homeworld for another day.

"Battle? I am... glad that you survived it." Natheniel said with a genuineness to his words. Fighting, killing, it was all rather tiresome and led to nothing but more trouble in his mind. Protecting and healing on the other hand... "So you have some magical talent?" He asked Carol, gazing down at the leaf and wondering at the significance of it. It's not everyday someone just sets a leaf down on the table next to you. Was he expected to take it? Was she going to crush it up and put it in her tea? He surmised that it likely had to do with what she spoke of. It was perhaps a trinket in the arts of healing. Regardless of it's intended use, he did not touch it. He did turn to face her, however, taking another sip of his 'lard and dragon's blood'. By the celestials, he hoped she was joking about that. It tasted too good, and he didn't want to be known as the fellow who enjoyed lard and dragons blood.

"Well I come and go, but I have been here for awhile. There was a battle about a week or so ago, fought in that." Carol paused, thinking of what else to say. The battle let her feel better, but she needed to be in constant battle. She looked through her bag and found a single leaf. Carol laid the leaf on the bar, showing Nat. "I was the medic. I healed the wounded. At least 10 people were lost." She glared at the new tavern worker, one that was the same species of the ones that fought. Carol had nothing against him, but looking at him reminded her of the experience.

Nat's gaze flicked up at the approach of Carol, then down at the mug he held. "Is that what this is..." He says, trailing off and smiling lightly. "It tastes good. Does the dragon blood imbue any special powers?" He asks, though his tone suggests he is suspicious of the truth in Carol's words and finds it humorous. "I'm well enough." He shares with his new found co-bar-conspirator. "And yourself? Miss...?"

"Natheniel. Or Nat. Not like the tiny insect. Just... Nat." He shrugged at his own words, as if he wasn't sure if he was getting his point across. No matter! "Good to hear, miss Gershwick. Glad that you are doing fine." He then eyed her tea with a subtle questioning look, but didn't inquire about it. "Been here long?" He then asks, as is required by unspoken bar etiquette. You should never be so rude to discontinue a conversation when there is none other to be had.

"Miss Gershwick, Carol Gershwick. I am not too fond of titles however." Carol tapped the table and asked for some black rose tea, her favorite drink there. It reminded her of the sorrow of the world, but also the small hint of hope that it contains. She looks back at the man after taking a sip. "I'm am quite fine, really. Your name, if I may ask?"

The new fellow that arrived seemed a little lost, seemingly not knowing what to do. Carol got up from her seat and approached the new comer. She sat next to him and began a conversation.
"How are you liking that lard and dragon blood?"

Carol was surely lost in her thoughts. She was stuck in her remembrance of her past wars, bringing her traumatic memories. Carol longed for war, living in the constant danger, fighting for a good cause. She snapped out of her state, and slumped in her chair. She took a drink of her glass, the liquid flowing down through her throat. It was relaxing, calming her to some extent. She listened closely to what the Bard was playing, swaying her into thinking about peace. Carol sighed deeply, and stood up. She headed toward the bar to ask for a special herb for a project she was working on.
Carol immediately what was going on; an odd critter rolling everywhere in front of a woman, and an old comrade trying to see what was going on. Carol took a seat next to the scene, and decided it would be a good idea to help.
"Seems like a nice pet you have there," Carol said as she eyed the weird specimen. "I can dispose of it if you don't want it."

While he should have moved on two weeks ago, Iani just hadn't felt like it.
The panther-kin walked into the common room, tapping his fist on his chest as he passed the memorial plaque. There was a bit of a hitch in his getalong, giving his stride a sort of rolling quality one normally associated with tryhard cowboys. That was the only remnant of his run-in with the dragon army; the swaths of fur that had fallen out the day after were growing back in nicely, much to his relief. He hadn't relished the idea of being known as "Patches" for the rest of his life.
At his heel, Crucible the pygmy goat scampered happily, seemingly unfazed by his brush with death. If goats got PTSD, Iani couldn't tell the difference.
As he made his way to the bar, Z came out of the back carrying a bucket of dubious contents. Iani slapped him on the shoulder companionably and growled a greeting in shoddy draconic. Z had given up trying to correct his diction about a week ago.
Iani slid into a stool at the bar and waved to Vaddock. "Gin and tonic, if you please, and is Ghallen still making that awesome rabbit risotto? Because I can't get enough of that stuff!"

Bella stayed in the least crowded area of the tavern as usual, watching the others. Her leg, bandaged up, seems to be healing nicely. The exhausted look on her face was gone after taking some rest. Her wings fluttered idly. She both felt proud and fear about the battle. It could've gone way worse for her.
Now that there are no dangers present, the survivors of the last battle showed off their trophies obtained from the defeated enemies; scales, teeth and claws. Her hand instinctively touched her new necklace, made from small vines tied together. On the front of the necklace was a claw from the defeated dragon-Kin. Another person had handed it to her after the battle. She wasn't exactly sure why she turned it into a necklace. Maybe in the future it could remind her of this battle, of the cooperation involved to achieve victory, in protecting this place, the place where she met her first friends.

The tall, half-elf man pushes his way in to the crowded tavern and glances around the new surroundings. Where? He wondered did he turn up this time. He sweeps the dark purple, shoulder length hair out of his face, the emerald colored tips glinting with the movement. As he approaches the bar he looks up to the barkeep, "One ale and a plate of some sort of meats please." While he waits he pulls out a pad of paper and a quill and starts drawing something calmly. He glances around the room his emerald eyes reflecting light back revealing the purple imperfections within. His eyes settle on the sole empty table and quickly walks over and sits down. He sheds the pack he has on his shoulder before continuing to draw with an almost trance like look on his face.

Carol was sitting down at the table inhabited by all of the veterans, guzzling down her drink. She was proud of her accomplishment, and she knew that she had contributed enough. Carol had her own tales to tell, all about the battle that took place. She was satisfied that so many familiar faces were still there, enjoying the victory. Carol wondered what was next for this group, and what that adventure might entail. The sound of the lute made her think of the battle even more.
She was thinking rapidly about the events that conspired after she fired the last shot. When she shot the general, she got a looked at his face. It was the one thing that disturbed her.
The face of fear. The face of terror. The face of death. She stared into the man's eyes, full of shock and pain. His stare reminded her of another person she encountered earlier. The wounded warrior that was fighting the reptilians. His face was pale, his frown was deep. His eyes were in fear. Carol stood before the dead body of the leader, satisfied with her accomplishment. She hurried around the still battlefield, looking for wounded soldiers. She found 4, and only 2 made it. She ran out of sulfa on the last two, and could only assure the other 2. Their deaths would be remembered. They did not die in vein.

Upon the hillside, a stubby dwarf came charging into the fray.
"Hold yer horses! Where is that son of a bitch Crow?! He ain't paid his bets, and he owes me big time!"
It was only at this moment that the dwarf noticed all the chaotic shit going on across the battlefield.
Corpses, bodies, lightning bolts, and a single asshole who threw them bolts.
    Mother fucker!
Was this the 'situation' that had forced Crow to dip? If so, he was going to get his money back, one way or another.
Without further consideration, he rushed the Leader angrily.
Dodging lightning bolts in his drunken haze, he was absolutely untouched, somehow guided and protected by Murphy's Law.
Still hiccuping as he swayed towards his foe, he came within mere feet, closing the distance at a dangerous speed.
At last, he faced down the leader, throwing himself into his face.
He pulled out his wooden club and slammed it into the man's nose.
If this powerful blow did not immediately fracture the skull of his adversary, sending him into a permanent coma, it would most definitely give him one hell of a nosebleed!
