Karla felt the old man buckle under her restraint. She tightened her embrace and held on to the chair for support. Gachi waited for the convulsions to stop before loosening her grip, then felt his grimy hands squeeze her ass.
She  grasped his jaw in one hand, “I’ll give you a pass” she muttered ignoring his question.
Then she threw his face aside and plucked his fingers off her buttocks. She unwrapped a leg from his torso slowly, making sure he wouldn’t buck and fall face down. She circled the chair and frowned at the dagger in his back.
“Nothin’ personal, hon” she promised. She found the glass of rum still waiting for her on the ledge of the cabinet, reached over randall, her wait made the chair totter nearly sending both parties face-forward, but it reeled back into place. The girl didn’t seem to care. She took a leisurely sip.
    “Want some?” she offered Randal.
    He grimaced.
“Humour me...” she smirked taking a second sip.
The beverage swung out of the cup and seemed suspended in mid air as the ship careened sideways when the red venom exploded. The sound, she swore, burst her eardrums and would have killed Randall if he fell on his back.
“Precision work here!” Karla wanted to bellow.
The ship swayed, she was struggling to stand when the cracks of fireguns ripped above her cutting her time and patience.
She ran to the door and pushed a chair against the knob of the door, expecting company soon enough. She uncovered a blade secured against the band of her thigh and walked to Randall.
“Hell ‘s breaking loose up there!” The ship swung, “where’d you have the logbook?”
Her sing-song voice took a venomous edge. She closed up on him much like she had earlier when she had seduced him. Her black curls fell over the bridge of her nose and shadowed her exquisite caramel face.
“Tell me quick and you might just live yet, Randell. ”

Amelia smiled as she watched the Small and young Hume child scamper off to assist Koltira. She was hard on the child because while yes she has a pre-existing prejudice against humes like him and it was justly earned. But also because she knew he would need to be strong if he was to survive out in the world. She looked up at the Screaming Generalissimo and rolled her eyes. She couldn't fathom what Richter saw in that man. Amelia met and knew men like him, they were all smoke and mirrors, but when the pressure comes they are the first ones to balk and run. She didn't trust him and couldn't care less for his theatrics. Especially since they were in a Forest supposedly hunted by a great beast. She simply glared at the Generalissimo's directions before she settleed down next to Richter and snuggled against him. She was spent from punching down the Campsite and the Landing Zone for Cadence.

Koltira looked over tot he Screaming Generalissimo and smiled; while exceptionally unorthodox and sometimes a greater hassle than a help. He couldn't deny the man had spirit and seemed to have the Justiciar's best intentions in heart. He finished the food as he said, "Keep making those Confections Young Master. They will make a Lovely Dessert. But come soon. Dinner is made." Koltira laid out a spread of Cooked traveling meat, a warm soup to invigorate the body and soul and had made a berry water that was both sweet and much like the Drinks of the Tavern but without the alcohol. He prayed to the divines and began eating.
The Captain woke Amelia and the woman nodded as she went with him to the campfire. She sat deep in his lap humming happily as she took her meal and began eating. Richter ate silently as his eyes scanned the Forest. Everyone was happy and content as they ate. But his mind was pre-occupied with his crew he left behind. He honestly wished they could've all came but that would've been impractical and too slow. Still whatever was out there...he would put it down. To Protect his crew. Amelia felt the captain's unease and smiled as she would help calm his mind this night. Hopefully Cadence wasn't unlearned of the Sounds of a Man and Woman sharing their passions in the privacy of their quarters.
Amelia spoke, "Manah, come sit and rest Darling. Even the most dutiful warriors must rest and recline in the company of their comrades."

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. Tara had thought the words as she waited behind a crate atop the deck. The smaller ship was just so, with a name she hadn’t learned, but there was only one name that mattered tonight. Iron Queen. A pier had apparently been set up just for her, long and empty in between two other vessels. Tara had snuck aboard one of them, to wait and to watch. The smuggler’s ship arrived, and Tara timed herself. Not yet. The Red Viper exploded. The fishermen went forward. The chaos began.

The thing about scenarios like this one was that two opposing forces tended to focus on one another, and not much else. The pirates aboard the Iron Queen had witnessed their Red Viper bite its last before it blew into smithereens. Meanwhile, a gnoll had unleashed a mob of angry fishermen to assail the one ship of two still left floating. An owl had been in their midst, Tara had spotted from her own seclusion, before wings had spread and the owl had taken flight to dig its talons into the queen. And, at another point, a harlot had since waltzed up to play parley in a whole new way. The board was set. The pieces were in place. Now the game begins.

Cannons roared while some did not, courtesy of a number of pirates engaging themselves with the fishermen, and one Tana having engaged herself with said cannons. Sabotage was a saboteur’s game, and Tara had played the role more than once, but she had a different part to play this time. She had wondered what that gnoll was thinking. She couldn’t remember his name. Rat? Rot? Rote? But he had probably been wondering where the blonde gal was since she must have been anywhere but beside his furry face ready to pounce upon the Queen. Well, he would find out soon enough. This was all a part of the plan. Tara had, after all, mentioned climbing spikes. And a bitch to impregnate.

There was more than one way to board a boat, but the primary way was presently preoccupied with two groups of people who intended to kill the other. She would let them. For her part, Tara whirled a length of rope above her head and swung it forward. The grappling hook at the end latched onto the side of the Queen’’s ass, or aft, from starboard quarter, and she gave it a tug to test its tightness. The hook was secure, the climbing spike in place, and the rest went with the wind. She breathed in the cool, fresh air, salt on her tongue, and kicked off from the deck.

The grappling rope swung Tara like a pendulum before her body hit the hull of the Iron Queen and she released the rope, gripping wood. The entire event had occurred in a matter of moments, and she felt satisfied that no unwanted onlooker had spotted her daring approach and the blonde head that went with it. No, they were too busy dealing with another threat to worry about the one that was now sneaking up from behind them, who shimmied leftward toward the backmost stern, and climbed. A moment later and her hands found the railing of the aftcastle. Here we go. With a bout of leverage and a bit of courage, she hurled herself up and let her boots kiss the deck.

“The hell!?” A pirate reacted, having turned just in time to spot the visitor.

Tara looked his way with a kiss. His hand went for the sword at his hip. Hers was already out. Steel flashed across his chest, a ribbon of blood flying upward while his body fell backward. Another grunt, both another man and his dying breath, Tara’s cutlass plunging through his heart. A third man approached, as startled as his predecessors, and their swords clashed. He was strong and pushed her blade out of the way, so she pushed a dagger between his ribs and then pushed his corpse out of the way.

“You BITCH!” Cried a gunner, abandoning his cannon from the aftcastle and pulling a pistol from his belt. His hand didn’t venture far before a dagger dove into his forehead. A fourth pirate from an adjacent cannon was closer to her when he caught the commotion. He turned with a rifle in his hands when her boot came up from beneath its barrel. The gun flipped upward, over his head to land in her grip, muzzle behind the man’s back. She squeezed the trigger. He went flying overboard.

The handful of defenders left assailed her all at once. Tara was ready. Swords and axes, pistols and rifles, they would have put her down in a moment. Her hand came up sooner than theirs to drop a round object before their feet. A flash of light exploded, the pirates yelling in surprise and confusion, but their attacker was as silent as death. She tore forward, swinging her sword in a flurry. The blade slashed across torsos, sparing no time for a stab, though a couple of men were greeted with cold steel against their throats. The grenade was one thing, but these pirates had been victim of a greater ploy: the element of surprise.

Clearing the aftcastle in moments, Tara hugged the back of the mizzenmast and peered around. Just beneath her was the quarterdeck. Some madman was cackling behind a repeating gun. Tara followed his stream of bullets over to the point of cover that he was targeting, namely whoever was behind it, and grinned. Her rifle came out, she aimed, and squeezed. The repeating gun suddenly stopped firing, the gunner slumped over his toy, and Tara emerged into view just long enough for her counterpart to receive her savior. Come out, come out, little bird.

"O-ok," Cadence replied to Amelia's threat. He heaved a sigh of relief when Koltira came to his rescue. He hadn't done much cooking in the wild before.. or, in fact, at all. Sure, he could  put something on the fire, but whether the food was cooked or not, he honestly couldn't tell. Luckily he had no issues in following instructions, and did what Koltira asked him for help with.
Over the calming crackle of the campfire, someone suddenly yelled a string of names. Cadence smiled at the Generalissimo's antics. He must be remembering some wild adventurers he had travelled with in the past. Then the young pilot's smile faded when the marshmallow caught on fire. "Oh no!" Cadence jumped to the rescue, and reached Certos when the white fluffy marshmallow became black charcoal.
"I can help you with it!" The young man declared, stringing more marshmallows on skewers, three skewers in each hand. Every young person was an expert in roasting the dessert, having been seduced by its crunchy exterior and sweet, melty insides. Besides, this constituted helping with cooking, right?
Cadence held the marshmallows over the fire, until they turned a delicious golden brown. He held out a stick for Certos. "Here you go, Generalissimo! And anyone else for marshmallows?"

As the troupe of merrymakers went about preparing the camp, Certos sat crosslegged before the campfire, staring into the flames. They danced wildly, like those leaf-skirted women had back in Amalia, having shipwrecked and been taken in by the Ulway. Or was it Ursa? He pinched his chin in perplexity, struggling to remember. These days, days blended together like squirrel heads and broccoli in a blender, and some days he couldn’t even remember what his name was. Oh, merde! He was having that moment happen right now.

“Eh, eh..!” Fingers press against his skull. “Eh! Stanley!?” He slapped his head. No, that wasn’t it. “Stewart!?” No. “Sully!?” No. "Sigfried!?" Nope. “Sally!?” NO. “Sir Briggurt the Mad Fish!?” ...No. He sighed in defeat, tossing a twig into the flames. What is my name…

Well, there were friends and foes about who might know his name, the friends who shared his ship and his company and his camp (free of charge, somehow) and the foes who would eventually come scampering up to seek vengeance upon those who felled their trees. There were monsters in these parts, his gut told him, ones that would hang the lot of them upside down and skin them alive and roast their guts like marshmallows. His own suddenly caught fire.

    “AIIIIIII MI MADRE MI MADRE”

The Generalissimo blew and blew and blew and the flame went out but he was left with a burnt black marsh-something at the end of his stick. “Oh noooo…” Things just were not going his way. First he stumbles upon a distress signal, then he stumbles upon an airship, then he loses his crayons, he can’t find Georgio, the dame knight hides her love for him, he forgets his name and now his marshmallow is burnt.

“OH I JUST WISH SOMEONE WOULD COME ALONG AND HELP ME ROAST MY MARSHMALLOWS”

With that, he looks left, looks right, blinks, and searches for a savior.

Koltira smiled at the Spunky human, Amelia may despise them given her past but He had always admired how brilliantly their Flame burned for such a short life spans. He looked down as he heard Cadence remark about Amelia as he said, "Aye she has temper that matches her actual strength. Luckily she only gets upset when things try to mess with the Captain. And then her focus isn't on us but on the Nuisance. " Kotlria nodded as the Airship landed and he joined Cadence on the ground. Amelia smirked at Koltira as pointed at the Campfire as she said, "You two get to prepare dinner tonight. I hope you know some Homemaking Skills Hume. Because If you make the Captain sick I'll make sure you have a Very long night~"  Koltira glared at Amelia as he said, "Leave the lad be Amelia. And Dinner will be fine as I'll do the cooking. Cadence if you have any issues in what must be done let me know." The Red mage turned to lead the human lad to the Campfire to prepare their meal.

Cadence chuckled when Koltira mentioned about the dangers of being a freighter pilot. “About as dangerous as driving a caravan on the ground,” he said, and flopped into his seat. “I can do stunt flying. I can do much more than this. Follow your dreams... perhaps that’s what I’m doing right now, aye?” He grinned.
Following the flares was an easy matter for Cadence. After a while, the flares stopped, and instead there came the sound of cracking wood. Cadence was shocked when whole trees fell, one by one, until Amelia could be seen below, being illuminated by the landing lights that Cadence had turned on.
“Whoa. I’d better not to get her angry ever,” Cadence exclaimed to Kojira, secretly thanking the stars that he wasn’t female, so there was less chance Amelia would get jealous over Richter.
The airship landed safely, and the two disembarked to join Richter and the rest at the camp. There was much to do to set up the camp. Cadence, being very new to all this, got his hands ready. “If there’s anything I can do to help set up camp, just tell me to do it!”

He was grateful whoever had shot him had made sure their shot was strong enough to go through him completely. His Vampiric regeneration had sealed his wounds and he leapt aboard the vessel. He saw the bedlam around him. The Fisherman were battling with Roht to gain a foothold while Tana danced a Steel laced Waltz. He smiled as he drew out his Steampowered pistol and angled it towards the Secretive woman. He pulled the trigger twice and killed two cutthroats that sought to flank her. He drew his blade yelling, "Fear not Comrade Roht! I have arrived!" He rushed into the fray slashing and firing his pistol off as he aimed to mitigate the loss of Civilian lives.

Koltira smiled at the young Human as he said, "As you Wish Young Master. It's a habit I have from before I met the Captain to call those I work under Younger Master or Mistress. But It'll be Cadence from now on. As for how long I've served on the Justiciar. It's been years since I signed on. But I've fought with the Good Captain for a few years prior to him acquiring the Justiciar. I've seen the command staff come and go. Even no command staff have left and been replaced. But the Captain remains the same.  As for the Adventures I've had I've had a few. One such the Captain, Lady Amelia and the Captain worked with a group of Mercenaries to defend a Kingdom from a Dragon. Twas a Mighty battle. And if I may be bold to say even in the everyday life there are a myriad of Dangers you face. Especially as a Freighter Pilot. Especially on such a small but nimble Airship. Sky Corsairs plunder innocent traders and Freighters all too frequently. One of the Justiciar's primary function is an Escort for Vessel like yours. One shouldn't be afraid to follow their dreams. That is something the Captain tells us constantly."

The Ground team cut their way Northwest, the Steady hum of Cadence's Airship never too far away as Amelia fired off the flares guiding Cadence and Koltira forth. They would Trek until sundown. Richter would motion for the ground crew to halt and said, "Let's make a camp here and clear an area for Cadence's Airship to land." Richter began tracing runes on the ground to create a Protective ward around their Camping Grounds. Amelia began to set out to knock down some trees for a landing zone for Cadence and Koltira

“Fucking hell, this is the best you could come up with?”
Roht didn't answer, but he couldn't muster a snarl in response either. He wasn't thrilled with Lynch's ramshackle militia any more than Tana was, but he wasn't going to voice that opinion eight seconds before the attack. The men would suffice, he supposed, in making a lot of noise, causing a scene, and probably getting themselves killed in the process. Maybe that was the point.
He shook his head to himself. Lynch would have told him, if that was the point. He was sure Lynch would have told him.
Roht opened his mouth to spit some retort, and she was gone like an arrow from the shadows, spearing across the open space and towards the massive ship. He snatched up his axe, grinding his teeth at her impetuous charge, and glancing again towards the opening of the harbor, waiting for the distant flash of the vampire's chore. If this woman ruined their attack by-
He let the train of thought fall away, as she scrambled up the side of the ship in absolute silence. The woman was a goddamned spider.
Six seconds passed, then seven and eight, and just as the fur was starting to rise on the back of his neck, the entrance to the harbor lit up with the flash of an instant sunrise. Straining, tense muscles propelled him in an instant leap, sailing out from the alley and landing with a meaty thud just ahead of the nearest smuggler. He was so excited, he nearly forgot to give the command.
“Get 'em!” Roht roared, swinging his axe in an upwards stroke, catching the first smuggler under the chin, ruining his face in a spray of blood and sending him tumbling off the dock. He was halfway through a follow-up backhand into the next smuggler when he heard his reinforcements arrive.
The fishermen roared, screamed, and flooded out from the alleyway in a raging tide of pent-up anger, swinging staves and knives, a paltry few waving old pistols and firing shots into the night sky. They crashed into the smugglers as a single mob, and the collision drove several of the intruding sailors stumbling back over the edge of the dock. Bricks flew, sticks rose and fell, and Roht's eyes turned up towards the deck of the ship.
A smuggler tumbled over the ship's railing, clutching at his throat and trailing blood in an odd helix as he spun into the sea. Whatever the spider woman was up to, Roht made a note to buy her a drink afterwards.
He started sprinting towards the ship.

Complacence was, as Avarice was fond of saying, the most dangerous of enemies. The crew of the Queen struggled to react to the intruder on the deck, unprepared for an attack and certainly unprepared for...whatever this woman was. They ran out onto the deck in a steady stream, some pulling their clothes on, other brandishing rifles or knives.
Amongst them, the gunner's mate was laughing. He couldn't believe that it was actually happening: the insolence of the Silver Harbor citizens had reaching suicidal levels, and he was now free to rain death and fire on their town. The Queen had never truly been unleashed on a town, and until this moment, he was sure that it never would. Shoving the nearest sailor out of his way, he snatched up the nearest cannon's firing line, yanking it back and raising his pistol to the sky.
“Wrath and ruin, boys! Wrath an-”
The cannon boomed, slamming backwards and breaking both of his legs in a sudden crunch, crashing into the weapon emplacement next to it. The cannonball went wild, sailing into some unknown point in the city, bursting with a distant thunderclap.
Around the railings, the smugglers were shouting to their compatriots on the docks, yelling for their friends and crewmen to get clear. Some of the braver souls opened fire with their rifles, and were rewarded with the bloody splash of bodies into the water. They were shouting, screaming, trying to get a grip on what was happening.
No one could see the captain. They were in chaos.
A wild series of bursts exploded the thick wooden planks by Tana's feet, misguided by the adrenaline of its gunner. From the quarterdeck, elevated above the madness, a heavyset smuggler with a whaleskin vest had swung the repeating gun from its position aiming at the docks and was training it on the agile operative. The ammunition belt hissed as it dragged across the deck, and his thick fingers convulsed on the triggers, abandoning his crewmen on the shore in order to dispense with this pest on the deck of the ship.

Avarice clasped his hands behind his back as he walked, breathing the fresh, cool air and counting his steps. Both the clasped hands and step-counting were minor habits, picked up in childhood to mask his nervousness. While he would never admit to nervousness as an adult, the habits helped to ground him and keep his mind focused when chaos erupted. He had memorized, over dozens of visits to the governor's mansion, how many steps he needed from one building to the next at a leisurely pace. The frequency of his visits was beginning to aggravate the governor, but that was unimportant.
It was important that he timed his arrival correctly. It was important that the guards knew his face. The pair stationed at the gate raised their hands in friendly greeting as he approached.
“Mr. Lynch! Sorry, but the governor's in for the nigh-”
As if on cue, the harbor behind them lit up with a sudden flash of golden-red, fading quickly into a burning beacon at the far end of the harbor. They still had twenty seconds before the sound, like a clap of thunder, would arrive at Silver Harbor, but Avarice was loath to waste any time at all. The two guards stumbled back in surprise and shock, their eyes fixed on what their minds struggled to comprehend.
“The port is under attack.” Avarice replied calmly. “We need to move the governor and his family.”
“Right...right!” The guards regained their bearings and spun around, waving to the others and charging towards the house. “Lads! To the governor!”
Avarice counted three seconds, to let their panic fully set in, and followed behind them.

Captain Alken Rand liked a lot of things. Short cigars. Lukewarm bourbon. Salt air on the cusp of a storm at sea.
    He did not like surprises.
Rand pulled the door to his cabin open, aggravated by the sudden interruption during the Queen's vulnerable period, and his eyes drew keen on the sailor escorting Gachi. They silently spoke of painful things, like fire and keelhauling, or the more imminent tools of murder scattered around the cabin.
The saber laying across the length of his deck would work. The pistol in the top drawer, perhaps, or the one hanging on the back of his chair, holstered in a thick leather belt. Hell, even the trophy spear that hung on the wall at the cabin's back: a prize from dueling a tribal chief on the southwestern coast in a ritual meeting.
“Ah, Captain!” The girl to the sailor's left drew his attention. She was a pretty one, but a long trek at sea would make anyone seem that way. The bright red of her clothing made her stand out among the sailors like a flower in a dirt patch, and there was an exquisite, smooth beauty to her neatly curled black hair.
“Pardons, Captain.” The smuggler touched a finger to his brow, in a half-mocking tribute to a naval salute. The captain demanded such discipline from his crew, either as a measure of discipline or as a tribute to Rand's own past. “She says she’s a whore. A present from...”
“…Magistrate Vess or some politic. I got word of it at Louie’s brothel.” The girl piped up,
Rand scowled sharply, the unkempt beard distorting as he did. He didn't like Louie, at least from the two times he and the tavern-keeper had crossed paths. But Louie was a sharp one, and offering gifts to the keep the wolves at bay seemed like something he would try.
The captain reached out to touch Gachi's cheek, playing a finger up through her curls. There was a faint smell, but he couldn't place it. Perfume, maybe. Anything in Silver Harbor that didn't smell of fish could qualify as perfume. An ache was in his chest, with an aftershock between his legs. He supposed, reluctantly, that he could enjoy some spoils tonight.
He waved his hand once, and the smuggler tapped his brow again before ducking out. Pulling Gachi gently into the room, he clicked the lock firmly behind him. No more interruptions.
“Would you like a drink?” Rand gestured to the impressive display of spirits on a corner shelf. His favorite prize to take from rival ships: it seemed every captain kept a bottle of their favorite liquor in their cabins, and Rand always made it the first demand when boarding. It was a deliberate demand: if the captain acquiesced, then that personal sacrifice made them less likely to put up a fight when they took the cargo. If they refused, then the murder could commence immediately without beating around the bush.
“If you have any rum, I'll be a lucky gal.”
His hand stopped, halfway to a fine vintage whiskey he had seized from a merchant in Port Thea. Instead, he produced a smooth, dark rum and poured a pair of glasses, trying to banish the uneasy feeling in the back of his head. The smell of her perfume in the small cabin was making that a lot easier.
Rand fell back into the chair as she was on him, the world distorting into a swirl of chaos and lust. The rosy smell of her hair was deep in his lungs, narrowing his tunnel vision to the feel of her on his lap, and the teasing lines of her collarbone leading down towards her breasts.
    “Help me with the corset.”
Captain Alken Rand like a lot of things. He had a feeling that this girl was about to be one of them.
The sudden pain in his back drove that delusion from his like mist scattering in the wind, bringing his mind back to the present in chilling moment. The saber was still on the desk behind her. The pistol, in its drawer, out of reach from where the chair had slid backwards. The one on the back of his chair was far closer to her hand than his.
And the damned tribal spear seemed really stupid now.
“Vess finally grew a set, did he?” Rand gritted his teeth, uncourteously resting both hands on Gachi's ass. Might as well enjoy something before she cut his spine in half. “Never thought the little piss-bag would. What do you want?”

The Red Venom was, in the heartbeat before Reinhardt's explosives bloomed, a menacing gunship boasting twin arrays of both point-defense and long-barrage weapons, among the finest magitech the smugglers could find or steal. Alken Rand had, on more than occasional, joked that he should prohibit smoking on her deck, for fear that so much anger and firepower would spontaneously combust and leave him one ship short.
The underwater charges blinked into pinpoints of light in the dusky waters, flash-boiling the water around them and sending tendrils of fire up through the four layers of oak and iron of the Venom's underbelly. The first tore open a cargo compartment, dealing minimal damage but opening the ship to a torrent of water as Silver Harbor itself began to exact its vengeance on the intruder. The second charge, dislodged by the shockwave, failed to penetrate the deck armor, sending twin plumes of spraying seawater up into the air on either side of the gunship.
The third struck the forward magazine, where the Venom's munitions had been carefully catalogued, stacked, and arranged according to Rand's specifications. At the time of the attack, there two-hundred and forty-three live munitions below deck, waiting to be unleashed.
The spears of fire, erupting up through the doomed ship's hull, began to cook off the munitions laterally, sending projectiles rocketing through walls and burning through doors below deck. The fireball, undeterred by the torrent of water waiting to pour in after it, flowed around the projectiles and mines like a flood, until it reached the top of the cramped space. Accompanied by the deafening cacophony of munitions firing in all random directions, the temperature in the tight space reached an intolerable level, and nearly four full seconds after Reinhardt had pressed the detonator, the magazine went critical.
The earliest settlers had named Silver Harbor for the beautiful sheen of the limestone cliffs as they shone silver light on the water.
On this night, those waters turned gold under the fire that was the Red Venom as the explosion tore the ship in half horizontally, scattering timbers for a quarter-mile and leaving the tattered, burnt bottom half of the ship to sink to the harbor floor.

Koltira easily evaded the flying striking bag as he said, "Well I'll just have to get someone to put that thing back up." He continued with Cadence onto the Lad's airship. He stood there watching the Youth going through his preflight check. It was completely different from the Justiciar's process. The Justiciar was powered by magicians and had very few mechanical parts. but Cadence's airship required many more mechanical parts and had to be checked to ensure optimal flight. As the Vessel took off he pulled out his communication stone as he said, "Hold steady Young Master." Koltira relayed Cadence's question down below.

Richter heard the question and said, "I'll be sending routine magic flares. It'll make it easier for Cadence to track us. But for now we make for the Northwest." Richter reviewed his crew and nodded. Himself, Manah, Amelia and the ever elusive Certos were adequate enough for the ground crew. He stalked out from the Fortified camp and into the Thick forest.

The soldier’s quarters lay between the pantry and the rope that would bring them off the Justicar. Cadence spied Manah’s figure in the room, and stepped in just in time to see the dummy fly off its stand, unable to withstand Manah’s power.
“Woah!” The young pilot exclaimed. “That’s some skill! I wouldn’t want to have to fight you. I’m glad we’re on the same side!” He turned to the dummy nearest to him and brushed his hand across its straw surface. “Maybe some day I’ll learn to fight too.. But now we have our work cut out for us! Let’s go!”
Cadence followed the captain down to the forest floor and back to his airship. It took a few moments for him to turn on the engine and check the various meters and gauges in the cockpit.
“Exalta energy’s looking good,” he told Koltira before walking to the side of the airship and looking over to Richter standing at the bottom. “We’re ready whenever you are!” He shouted over the sound of the engine. When the captain gave the signal, he would take off. The initial portion was slightly tricky, since he had landed in a tight space, but once he rose up and clear of the trees, they were looking at clear skies with puffy white clouds. “Perfect day for flying!” Cadence exclaimed. “Now, which direction should we start heading in?” He asked Koltira.

The Evening came Quicker than Reinhardt recalled it did. But he wasn't complaining, he was very eager for the Moonlit festivities to commence. He had been watching the Ships' arrivals with keen interest and saw the Moon rising as the Smugglers began unloading their illicit gains. He commandeered his row boat and began making his way out. he would leave his Breadcrumbs back to the waters nearest to the Iron Queen but out of her eyes. He made it half way to the Red Venom. There he threw down a makeshift anchor and climbed out of the boat and gracefully leapt into the water. He submerged himself beneath the waves, ahhh the benefits of being, as the Folks back in France called him, The Living Dead. Rather the Contradiction and Oxymoron. How could one be both alive and dead at the same time. Humans...he'll never understand them. he had many bandoleers of Remote explosives that he would tether to the Hull of the Red Venom.
Once he was one lacing the Unwitting victim with his midnight special he breached the Surface with a loud gasp imitating as if he had been desperately longing for the fresh air. He had a metal cylinder that very well could've been a O2 re-breather of his own design. He looked up to see several firearms angled at him as he said, "Wooooaaahhh. Hold there friends. I din't know where I'm at or what's going on. I'm just an Inventor trying out my new Oxygen breathing tool. I got caught up swimming around earlier this evening and I guess I ran into you lot. Can we talk this out? I mean you lot no harm. Not like I could harm you all." He was hoisted out of the waters and was held and blade and gun point. He smiled nervously, even if they all stabbed him and shot him at the same time they wouldn't have killed him. This is what scared the people from his home Realm. He couldn't be killed like them and he didn't die of old age like them. He strung them along with a outlandish tale of his invention work and how it led him to creating a re breather, one he honestly didn't need, to go deep water diving.

Reinhardt noted that the men were getting less and less interested in his tale. he chuckled sheepishly as he said, "I guess I couldn't keep the wool pulled over your eyes forever. You're a clever lot for a bunch of Smugglers." He suddenly spun in place using only the edges of his nails to slash the throats of the nearby Smugglers. Before they could react he leapt backwards. he pulled out a waterproof trigger. He clicked the detonator button as soon as he landed on his first breadcrumb. a larger upheaval of water launched up from beneath the Red Venom. The Smuggler's Gunship had it's underbelly literally blown out from underneath it. His explosives providing the Sufficient firepower to efficiently dispatch the Smuggler's Gunship. The Survivors of the gunship launched a flare serving as a Distress signal to the Smuggler vessel and as the Signal for the Ground Crew of the Assault on the Iron Queen. he began leap frogging between his bread crumbs.

Back on the Shore Reinhardt's assailants had been waiting in their sniper's nest. The Flare serving as their point of reference for their prey and their limited window to take their shot to pick up their mark. The Flaming haired female smiled as she said, "I see him Thirteen. Time to prove ourselves to the Captain~" She had activated her magical sight and locked onto Reinhardt. She blew a kiss as she said, "die for me Blood drinker~" There was a single crack of her rifle and her magically enchanted bullet launched out at her target. Reinhardt saw the bullet before he heard it. but the speed it was travelling at him against his own rate of speed to try and get back to the Iron Queen before a bloodbath ensued was too quick. He barely twisted his torso enough so the bullet struck his shoulder instead of his heart. Shit, whoever gunning after him knew where to hit him to make it hurt. He growled as he spun in the air and crashed into the water.

The Flaming hair woman clicked her tongue in annoyance. She said, "Damn Vampires are so fast. I know I didn't kill him. But I missed our single shot. Now we have to go back to the Captain empty-handed. Sorry Thirteen." The Man waved his hands in odd signals and the Woman smiled saying, "You're too sweet Thirteen." The duo disappeared into the Night as Reinhardt breached the surface gasping in agony. Fucking hell this would slow him down. But at least he made good time and distance before he ate the bullet. He swam the rest of the way to his boat and recovered his sword and gun. he would be a tad sluggish still would be more than enough for these Damned smugglers. He began rowing rapidly towards the Iron Queen desperate to protect the Fishermen.

“Down to the pub for a two shilling ale, The bread on the counter is going stale-“
The singing that echoed in the dark room was rough, unsettling, and punctuated by the rhythmic scrape of stone on steel. Tana set the wetstone aside and peered out the small window. The lights of the port city were coming on as the last of the sun dipped below the horizon. Her own lamp burned dimly on the sill.
“-If I don't get some fresh bread soon Gonna punch you in your face and bark at the moon.”
The thief tested the edge with her thumb and smiled at the thin line of blood it drew. Perfect. Still humming the next few lines of the verse, she set the knife on the pile with the rest and pulled a vile of dark yellow liquid. She coated the inside of the sheaths with it. The room was already full of the poisonous odor despite the open window. It was potent stuff. Tana had enough for five coatings- maybe more if she was strategic.
She sheathed every knife methodically and strapped it onto her person. Four at her hip, two in her boots, one on each arm, and one on her thigh. She knew her job. Hamlin had been more than clear. Get the logbook. If she couldn’t get the logbook, she had to ensure no one else would either. To that purpose, there was a supply of matches sewn into her sleeve, and- if that should fail- a small bottle of acid in a pouch at her waist.
“Aye aye aye, sharpen your boot, and bludgeon your eye. Aye aye aye, the cornerstone brings a tear to my eye”
It was time. The Iron Maiden would be pulling into port soon and the attack would commence soon after. The docks were waiting. Tana quenched the lamp, pulled up her hood, and slipped out the window, blending seamlessly into the night.

Amelia raised her eyebrow at Cadence's words. She quipped politely, "You think this sweet? I'm simply claiming what's mine. Isn't that right Richter~" She leaned her head back and kissed his chin while wiggling her rump in his lap. Richter chuckled and gently cupped her hips as he  reprimanded her, "Now Amelia. Behave yourself in front of the guests. No need to be so showy about it." She puffed her cheeks as she said, "Whatever Captain." Richter kissed the top of her head and began spooning them soup. First to her. Then to himself. Before long they finished their meal. He saw the eager youth waiting at the doorway heading out.
Koltira faithfully by his side. Richter and Amelia joined him walking toward the rope system to lead them to the forest floor. He said, "Koltira will be your Mouth and ears to the ground team. He has a communication device directly to me. So you will know where to fly as we traverse the forest floor."

“Awww, you two are so sweet,” Cadence winked when the Captain and his partner displayed their affection for each other. Love… he longed to experience it but had no luck with it yet in his young life.. He was just too shy to approach girls.
Affairs of the heart were promptly forgotten when he dug into the warm food. “Mmmmmmm,” he expressed his appreciation. The bowl of stew didn’t survive the famished young man, and soon disappeared down his gullet. Cadence was just starting on the fruits when Koltira came back with the supplies. “Oh!! Thank you. I feel bad for letting you do all the work. Apple?” He offered a bright green one to the red mage, then sighed in satisfaction. “I’m all good and ready to go now!” he said. “The sooner we leave, the sooner we can get the Justicar back into the air, right?”
If the rest were agreeable, Cadence would lead the way back to his airship, which had been unloaded and was ready to ferry the materials they were going to gather. “Just let me know which direction we’re heading in, Captain!”

Reinhardt had come up with some last minute ideas for his ambush for the Red Venom. If it was to be dark outside when his explosions would bury the saucy lass into the briny deep he would need guides back to the dock. Since time of the essence he would need to make a path of hasty egress available. Much like the Tale of Hansel and Gretel Reinhardt had devised a series of "Bread crumbs" for him to use to trace back his way to the dock and act as spring points for him to leap to and fro on his way back.  He would have to lay them out as he went towards the Red Venom. Meanwhile he had to make a convincing tale as to why a lone soul was so close to a Smuggler's Gunship. So he designed a Re-breather unit that a swimmer could use to recycle the water in the Ocean with the Exhalation of their breath. He would weave a tale of him swimming all the way from the port of Silver Port and distract them as the Bombs he would've tie to the hull of the Ship had time to settle properly to maximize the explosive force the depth charge would unleash.

As the Inventor wrapped up his inventions a pair of cloaked strangers rolled into town. One carried a Lute on their back and a long rifle.  While the other carried only a book and blade. The gunner looked at their partner. The Book bearer flashed a swift sequence of gestures and the other person nodded knowingly. They had strict orders for tonight. Their prey would be frolicking on the ocean blue and while he was away from the shore the two would reap their mark. The Two swiftly melted into the shadows to find good positions to set up their Sniper's nest. Reinhardt came out of his his shop singing jovially in German, He swayed from side to side with a jaunty saunter as he sang,
    "Heute wollen wir marschier'n,
    einen neuen Marsch probier'n.
    In den schönen Westerwald,
ja da pfeift der Wind so kalt.
    In den schönen Westerwald,

    dringt tief in's Herz hinein."
