  1. Esteemed academy administrator Lady Bontavia seeks someone to convince her horrid nephew to repay a substantial 'business' loan by any means... Genre: Modern/Fantasy Location: Mageside City Ideal Candidates: Low-level magic users looking for clout with the academy tenure. Rewards: The Lady has amicably agreed to allow the successful party to keep 50% of all recovered funds. Low-level mage participants will be rewarded with free training primarily in illusion and alteration magic. You’ll learn to cast an animate spell which will allow the caster to bind wayward spirits to nearby objects and even themselves for a short time, generously increasing magical protection and/or power. If your character has no interest in magical training, professional high-level enchantment of a single piece armor or a weapon of your choice is an option. Bonus, if you're able to recover ALL of Bontavia’s funds and you realize her nephew’s true fate, participants will receive a small amount of a rare mixture of gold powder and incense which is known to attract legendary Kelpie (horse-like flesh eating water spirits). It also doubles as a powerful yet pleasant glittery perfume.
  2. I’m craving for some storywriting that has nothing to do with canon (or too trivial to be canon), starts with a lighthearted adventure, has no posting order, and no particular plot planned or anyone driving the story. No restrictions on character, or who introduces NPCs or challenges. Just a simple one step, one post at a time in a continue-the-story writing, and see where it goes. I’m not looking for chat RP though, so at least a paragraph or two, or longer. Really depends on what you want to write in your post! No particular posting speed, but I’m not a super fast writer, depending on how long the posts are, I can take anywhere from 2 days to a week to reply. But anyone can post anytime though, so you don’t have to wait for me! No rules meaning nothing is disallowed. You can have a monster that shows up and blows up the planet, and I can have a god that resurrects everyone, if you and I so wanted during our turns. Not that it’s what I’m going for, but just saying that it can happen. There’s no storyteller, no one to moderate anything written. Lol I know it’s a strange interest check, but anyone wants to join me for this? It’s non-canon for sure, we can use Alternative or any readymade lore areas on Val. Looking for a small group of 2-6 people so that things don’t grow too crazy lol.
  3. The Dogs of War are about to mobilize into a mighty mission to make Terrenus a safer place. They intend on venturing out into Terrenus in the hopes of locating cursed objects so they can retrieve, bring them back to Illyana Uldwar who will in turn attempt to either purify the artifact or destroy it if purification is not possible. What artifacts are they going after?: The Dogs of War will be going after several artifacts, splitting themselves into three teams so they can cover more ground and obtain multiple cursed artifacts. These teams go as such. 1. Team Longsword: Rumors are flying that the vigilante group known as Justice is hiring someone with the ability to raise the dead under their will. Concerned, the Dogs of War intend on investigating these claims, and are traveling to a village known as Carrot Hill to gather information. [Sir Ultin, Sir Gamesly, Sir Lucario and Sir Yorefield will be participating in this quest. They will be joined by four squires, four wolfhounds and one scribe to record the journey.] Team Battle Axe (official artifact challenge): The Rod of Peter the Dark is a dangerous item that can cause much suffering to those who wield it. The Knights intend on claiming it for themselves so they can make certain it can never cause harm again. [Sir Roderick Julian, Sir Henry Julian and Sir Daymare will be taking part of this quest. They will be joined by three squires, three wolfhounds and a scribe to record the journey.] Team Halberd: In the far reaches of Norkotia, it is rumored a dangerous Idol of a bygone age resides. This item, if claimed by the wrong hands, could cause untold devastation to the world. The Knights now hunt for this idol, determined to destroy it entirely. [Sir Redford, Sir Cumic and Sir Kingson will be partaking in this quest. They will be joined by three squires, three wolfhounds and a scribe to record their journey.] All three of these teams will be in separate threads that you are welcome to join either as helpful, Neutral or even antagonists of the quest. Post your interest here if you have any and we'll see what we can make happen. More details to come soon.
  4. Mae Govanen Friends, Strangers, and Fellow Fortune Seekers, If you happen to be receiving this message you have happened across my Emergency beacon spell. I must be brief but I am Captain Richter Konig of the Justicar. In a recent battle we fought against a Nest of Sky Pirates left my Vessel severely damaged and unable to to make harbor for formal repairs. We are currently Grounded and in needs of supplies to perform emergency repairs. The Goddess has blessed us that most of our engineering team made it out alive. But most of our Personal flyers were destroyed save a handful. We have located a forest and cavern that should provide us the necessary raw materials to salvage my vessel. But alas my former command crew is all missing in action and I need to leave my Ground crew and Marines to keep the Auxiliary teams secure while we secure the resources. I need the aid of a few brave souls to assist me in acquiring these materials. If we all happen to make it out of here alive. I could use capable hands on my Ship. Goddess watch over you. (Themes: Action/Survival/Adventure)
  5. You've heard the gossipy tidbits spread wide to cities and countries across of a Blind Swordslayer educating in Swordsmanship and Martial Arts to even the physical impaired. Rumor has it that the Hinode no Gakko Dojo, School of the Rising Sun finally opened for public under instructions of Daiookami, Kenshinobu Momoku, General of the Imperial Army. The land's greatest Bladeslayers and their secret arts available in search of adequate applicants not only subjected to, but all throughout and beyond the Jigoku Nation of Genesaris. Now, you may make a visit to witness the supernatural firsthand in hopes of becoming a dedicated Pupil. Perhaps, you are talented in Combat Arts you came to test such acclaimed theories against an elite Full Moon student or the Head Instructor Shihan, Lord Shiroyasha instead? Or none of the above. You’re a champion fighter and wish to challenge the Legendary Okami no Senjo, to be honest? “We are a community of growing Bladeslayers and warriors from many different aspects of life, not only backgrounds, but social caste yet within the walls of Hinode no Gakko and in the Imperial Nation - - we are Wolves of Jigoku.”
  6. “I still remember the prophecy of thine people foretold by the soothsayer lost among the unwitting arrogance of our strength of humanity. The archaic imprecation of witchcraft and evil had spellbound us all. Were we not oft to condemn the unknown I'm sure our blood would not be cursed by the sword of the night. With faces clear and pale as the moon they flooded our lands with death and forced us to accede to a curse beyond generations. Even as I write this with great vehemence I am forced to undergo timeless torture without the honor to perish, but what more do we deserve to have lived in such hubris without recognizing the veritable truth? We are nothing to the Blood God, and worse yet, his left hand: The Blood Sword.” The Blood Sword— Gabriel Cantor. Greetings and welcome to my interest check! As I've been pulled back into the fold of Valucre, I was given the idea by @King to begin a new saga involving one of my favorite characters from Genesaris, Gabriel Cantor. He has quite a bit of history in Genesaris and throughout, but most of that is the distant past as Gabriel has been particularly "quiet". The reasoning? No one's sure, but between us here in the OOC, the truth is he's been gathering swordsmen from across the lands willing to serve Rafael/Sauriel to achieve an eldritch knowledge to which the strongest swordsmanship can be found. I already have the general idea of the saga and how things will unfold, I only need active participants and those willing to develop their characters to new heights! All are welcome. Be prepared for PG13 - R rated writing (though tastefully) as the story calls for it. Due to my experience with RP, I only actually need three people at the moment. If things go according to plan and the story stays on the rails, I'll continue to recruit and renovate the concept and story overtime. If anyone has any questions, this is certainly the time and place!
  7. @supernal I want to have an event of sorts as a send off for my 14 year old OC. I haven't been able to write much lately due to a bad mental stigma associated with it, but recently I was given an idea and its been churning in my mind for weeks. Basically, need to make sure this would be approved (You have given me permission to state in my posts before that my character possessed a means with which to cross universes/worlds using portals created by his goddess), But essentially I would like to have a massive, cursed clocktower be ripped from its normal location of Gaia Prime and dumped out somewhere in the Terrenus wilds or near Predator's Keep. The tower itself recreates events and memories for anyone standing upon the moving gears at the tower's highest level, behind the clock's face. My character, tormented by his past, returned to the tower to try and relive memories he had long buried, but the goddess who torments him twists the magic of the clocktower and forces Vince and whoever else may be in the vicinity to physically relive those events, the events themselves being corrupted recreations of Vince's actual memories in order to drive him further off the edge. I have another OC who is related to Vince, which I would use to kickstart the thread/event and lead people into the clocktower after its sudden appearance, his goal/intent to find out why the clocktower was now in Valucre [having also been familiar with the clocktower.], and why his adopted father was using his [suspected] innate magic to twist the cursed sorcery even farther. The event would have participants relive moments that I find important/of signifcant history to the character, culminating with a send-off of sorts. Is this something that you would allow me to do? Willing to work with you on the details some to fit in with Valucre lores/rules if any of that bends them.
  8. Update #3 15/05/2019: An OOC thread has been created! You can go to it by clicking on the link here! Everyone who has posted their interest to join this party should also post their character bio in the OOC thread to confirm their intention to join this roleplay! Please do so within the next 2 days to avoid being left behind! See you guys soon! UPDATE #1 10/05/2019: This interest check is now officially looking for RP members! RP Synopsis Connor 'Cog' Maxwell is a Magitech researcher specializing in the study of Void/Warp magic. He creates his own variation of Magitech equipment based on gears and cogs. Recently his studies have led him into the heart of Yh'mi where he thinks the presence of Void magic would be most prevalent. A few days ago, his theory has been vindicated: While staying in the eerily friendly Lirrey village, his monitoring device picked up a surge of Void magic coming from the south. There lies the Doomed Steps which lead into the Narrow Pass of Netherpeaks and the lonely Taen Mountains further south. Thus, he sent an urgent letter to the Gaian Academy to request for a group of adventurers/researchers to accompany him on his journey to investigate the energy spike. Would they be able to find what lies within Netherpeaks? And even if they did, would they be able to survive the eldritch horrors long enough to return back to the academy? UPDATE #2 11/05/2019: Player list: @Vetanoob @Voldemort @Gloxie @Shamash Loremaster: @jaistlyn Hi everyone! This is just an interest check for anyone who's interested in delving into an RP that delves into concept of Void Magic. I don't really have a solid story to start a thread with yet, but I did come up with snippets of inspiration. If anyone is interested, do reply here in this thread and we can discuss where to go and how to develop a story from here! I have organised whatever I have found/created into this table here: ON THE BASIS OF VOID MAGIC More canon (?) information on Void Magic can be found here in this link: I've created a character who seems to inhabit 'The Void' or 'The Warp': @jaistlyn @desolate A mysterious letter requesting for a research expedition to Yh'mi To: Head Research Analyst - Doctor Megan Starweight, PhD Mana Mechanics and Computational Casting, The Gaian Academy From: A supporter of your work Dear Dr. Megan, I know this letter might seem sudden to you. But know that I cannot disclose who I am for fear of reprisals from unknown powers that may be monitoring me, even as I write this letter from the relative safety of Lirrey Village. Just like the rumors say, the people here are friendly and accommodating. But there is something 'off' about them that I can't put my finger on. So far, I have minimised all contact with them aside from procuring daily necessities. But I digress. I am simply a independent researcher who specialises in Void Magic just like you. However, you may call my methods a little 'unorthodox' to put it lightly. A few days ago, my monitoring device registered and unnatural energy spike in wavelengths only Void magic can emit somewhere southwards of Yh'mi. Probably emanating from inside the Narrow Pass in Netherpeaks. Who knows? Maybe even as far as the Taen Mountain. Whatever it is, I feel that it is worth investigating. Void Magic is already mysterious enough as it is. It could be a chance to discover more if we can find whatever it is that gave off that energy. However, I cannot do this alone. Yh'mi is already dangerous enough. But if you could spare some resources to gather a group of researchers and warriors to accompany me up the Doomed Steps, I think we'll be able to find something truly out of this world! If not, I fear the realm of the Warp may be forever lost to us. Signed, A friend Somewhere inside Yh'mi... "Hello... old friend. You might remember me... or not. You may have many questions, though the first one that enters your mind may seem the most pertinent. I assure you it is also the most irrelevant. To keep things simple, the gods were moved by your sacrifice. They did say the price for it was your life. But it seems you have interested them as much as you did interest me. They gave you a second chance. What happens when you're a man out of time? A man out of place? Who knows nothing of where he is, what has happened or how much time has passed? Will you cling on desperately to a past that may no longer exist? Or will you stay the course and clash head on against an uncertain future? Unfortunately, the process you went through has changed you fundamentally. You might not be the same person as you were before. But one thing that hasn't changed is my gift. For good or ill, the gift of my mark shall stay with you; granting you powers different and beyond those of other men. Seek the ancient runes bearing that very same mark in the lonely places of your world and at shrines raised in my name. Remember: Whatever you choose to do, know that I will always be watching... Just as I have done back then... with great interest."
  9. So I started a thread a while ago about creating summoned companions using charms, done with my charm making character Chinafel. I've currently got 1 active thread and would like to start a second, but with a difference. The current thread is aimed at creating a golem, so I'd like to do a thread about creating a living companion. E.G. a wolf, wyvern, pixie, etc. Just looking to get feedback on how my character works and ways to improve him. The concept is pretty simple. My character can create summoning charms using materials and it follows common fantasy rules, the rarer and more powerful the materials used the stronger summon. The materials used will of course affect the outcome of the companion E.G. A dragon scale + fae wings + electric essence = Electric Fae Dragon. This thread will be based around what you want out of your companion, so you'll pick everything that goes into it and how the journey goes. It can be a simple trip to the market or a grand adventure! Thanks for reading!
  10. I know I'm late, but ..... Looking for a small group of antagonists to basically be the main opposing force for my character and his Coven. Their goal is to acquire as many followers as possible of course, this is a repeatable quest and as mentioned by Hummingbird there is no need to canonize any Whispernight quests. A few from Choisel would be setting out to explore these lands, try to negotiate or form some type of alliance with the existing league and if that does not work, acquire things all lastly by force we can come to figure in a small skirmish or something. For those in need of a basic summary of what the place is/looks like: Talix-Egine A city run by gears, including a central gear that operated the entire city on a wheel of science and architecture seen nowhere else in Valucre. Home to more math and logic than magic, Talix-Engine’s near impenetrable headquarters that operated the entire city was overrun by doppelgangers and evil spirits. The city was in the end toppled. This ruin is one of the most dangerous, overrun with undead creatures that seek nothing but to destroy all that is left. Everyone who was gone here has died at the hands of violent geists. Led by a league of vampires wielding ancient, powerful swords capable of nullifying and reflecting magic spells, be the one to defeat the horde and free the city from the curse of Whispernight. I'm looking to start things as soon as possible. What do you guys think? Even if you just want to tag along for added story without being the opposition, that’s fine too.
  11. PLEASE READ THIS BOTH CAREFULLY & THOUGHTFULLY. This is merely a poke in the shrubs to see who's out there. I will answer questions about the [less than] current thread already in existence and how to proceed from it, pending the interest of you fine fine people. Genesaris: An Expedition in the Past. This is for a roleplay story taking place in the early years of Genesaris. A time when magical technologies are up and rising and where the land is still so very young and holds a lot of secrets to discover. A group of scientists [and travelers/guides] wants to use the newest of technologies [airships/steampunk tech] to transport themselves quickly across the land in order to follow up on leads about special plants, animals, and people. The time span the characters will face will most likely consist of years [for them]. During this time frame, they will be able to witness the birth of a new age in Genesaris. They will be able to experience the change in atmosphere and society, as well as traverse untouched lands that will eventually become more civilized as time goes on. With these things in mind, a lot of the more powerful plants [powerful as in the abilities provided by such plants] may go extinct and become very rare, so that in the present timeframe of Valucre [? AO] they will be very limited and extremely hard to come by. [Also, please take note that during this early period in the young Genesaris’ life, that it has not made itself known to the other continents of Valucre, e.g. Terrenus, Tellus Mater, etc. Also, keep in mind that weapons like guns…are nonexistent or extremely rare in this time. Advanced technology will not be used or even referred to, as it does not exist either.] This RP will fall in line with the lore of Genesaris, but will give whoever’s character, the ability to witness history as it happens. You may have free reign [with approval from King] to help create plants, animals, and old landmarks no longer in the existence of today’s Genesaris. [Approval must be made before posting any changes, new things made.] A list of preapproved plants is already in existence, and when we come upon them, I will explain what type of plant they are… And all or some of our characters [pretty much whoever chooses to] can be the first ever to try them out. We won’t know what they can do to anyone ICly….unless we experiment a little first…right? All the plants are going to be written out in the same [older]format created by OffTopic, and can be viewed in Herbalism 101. Please keep in mind that our characters will not have access to most of these plants, due to having no connection with Terrenus and other continents[Tellus Mater, Terrenus, etc.] during the timeline we will be writing in. I’m pointing them out as a reference, so you can get an idea of the design and presentation used after discovery to describe the plants, and hopefully create more new ones in a group effort by us. This also encompasses older civilizations and tribes, unknown areas and landmarks of Genesaris, and animals and creatures no longer seen in Genesaris today. When I say that, I really hope that people not only want to RP out this idea, but help to build on it by creating more flora and fauna, and can help generate great scenes of the young Genesaris. This will be a creatively fun RP, where your contributions do and will count. CURRENT Thread[Thread One]: Early Genesaris: Expedition in the Past. [cont.] Thread Two: Early Genesaris : Time Stamps This thread is optional, and is merely meant to be used as a journal for each individual. Here they can ‘write’ about their experiences, what they’ve encountered, etc. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a journal either. They can write letters to friends and loved ones as well. Old Thread as a Reference for Newcomers: EarlyGenesaris: Expedition Here is where most of the traveling and discoveries will take place during the entirety of the story. This is also where I will explain what the plants look like, and we experiment to find out their effects. A lot of them are poisonous and deadly, I will let you know beforehand whether or not it is safe. For your character. Mind you, I may warn you about the plants, but I will not warn you about the dangers being faced while traveling through the youthfully wild lands we will be in. Everyone will be at risk, including my own character. Characters/People: Looking for 3 people to join Die Shize and I as we continue our gloriously haphazard adventure. Lead Herbalist/Scientist: [The early and original] Doctor Lilium Concordia [yes…She is friggin' old, and you’ll get to see part of why in this story and your characters [if you so choose] may experience this phenomenon for themselves. And a lot of it has to do with another story not included here. Sorry.] Our Main Crew: 1. Die Shize as Dr. Jikol 2. -Lilium- as Dr. Concordia 3. Rin as Claudette Virga Von Ja'Guthra Talia 4. Thotification as Lord Ruler Suzerain, King Emperor of All Creation [Suzy] 5. Flame Hero: Endeavor as Potential Cameos: Vielle [Guinea pigs provided] NPC Guides NPC Travelers PLEASE, if you are going to join, feel free to share any ideas you may have. Don't be afraid to speak up. I like plots and ideas. Especially if they make the story more fun! If you're worried about receiving credit, don't be. Whatever contribution you come up with is your own, as long as-first and foremost-it is approved by King. ****There will be a 3 day post limit. What this means, is that if you do not post within three days of it being your turn, you will be skipped, but that’s not to say you can’t post later. You’ll just be skipped in order to keep the flow of the thread going. If you have stuff going on and are busy, that’s understandable, just let someone know what your post time may possibly be.**** I am a fan of posting order, mostly because it is less confusing in my mind. That way there aren’t two people interacting back and forth in ten posts before anyone else posts, which can deviate from the story. Important links: Genesaris Lore Herbalism 101 If interested please reference these posts: 1. Introduction - Notes about the mission. 2. Movement - Parachuting to the ground. 3. Current locale - Forest in search of whaaaaat?! PLEASE TAKE NOTE: A new thread will be created as Die Shize and I are going to break away from the old one to start fresh from where the last one ended. Please make yourself aware of this. Boon: Depends on what you contribute. Discover something awesome! Help to create new plants, artifacts, animals…etc, etc. If you have in-depth questions you don't feel like asking here, feel free to contact me via PM here on Valucre or drop me a line on Discord @Lilium#8636. ALSO, I would like to invite those people with older Kingdoms set in Genesaris to ponder the idea of guest appearances depending on the location of our troop. For those of you who would like to add to the background of your rich lore while it may have been in its youth, this could be a fun and interesting way to do so...? Or even hint to me, things you would like to have been seen, discovered, or noticed about your areas in this RP's past time frame of setting. @King @Die Shize
  12. Genre: Adventure with some slice of lifeLocation: Terrenus, Wilds of Baizo IsleShort Description: A class C quest featuring a new adventurer Longer Description: A fairly leisurely paced Quest set in the wilds of Baizo, with the objective of identifying new fauna and flora for HERB. I'm looking to have probably no more than 4 people, as this is my first time doing a quest! For the pacing, I intend to check the thread twice a day. As per general site rules, I wouldn't expect that if someone didn't post for a day or two that it's time to skip over them. However if people are posting slower (or faster) than about once a day, then that's no problem for me. I may forget to check the thread sometimes as we all do, so I just ask that anyone interested be patient with other RPers in the thread as well as myself ? Like I said I'm new to Valucre so this is very much so an introductory, exploratory type quest. As such I'll probably be fielding questions in an OOC thread (probably this one) from more experienced members of the site if any are interested in joining, as well as generally asking and learning about how things work around here in general. Link to the IC thread:
  13. A couple of rules+notes before I set the storyline. Please respond with your character bio first before we begin. It is not necessary to leave a backstory as further knowledge of characters will be added as the story progresses. If you have any questions please ask. I would also like to add that I prefer to write with those who are closer in age with myself. ? The time-manner of responses for this story is flexible and as a group (or otherwise) we will work with each other's schedules. I'm pretty lenient with this. I have written the beginning of Chapter one to get things started, but we may keep this post for Character and story information only. I may make a new post with a copy of the start of Chapter 1 and we will write from there. -Safe for work only. Please, no romance or sensual themes. I'd like the focus to be on the elements of the plot and character development. Violence is ok. (Please refrain from using profanity). -NO Lgbt themes/characters permitted. Thank you for understanding. -Recommended to have literate responses, but multi-paragraphs are optional depending on your preference. I don't mind the length of the responses. Add detail. Now that this little message is over, let's get to the fun part... Story plot + more. Setting: Year of 4035. Place: A planet called Xetheria. Nature: Most of the plants/wildlife are various colors. Outside of the city, there are forests as well as other towns. More info: No magical/mythical themes, the genre is mostly sci-fi. However, being it is a different planet, there are several strange animal creatures, which can be made up by whomever. Other: There is currently no real major ruler over the people, as there aren't many citizens anymore. This has led to an amount of chaos. Groups have been made with protective leaders who reign within their town or camp. Keep in mind technology has been further advanced. This includes weapons, tools, fabrics, and transport, even though the city is in the state it is in. As for a villain/antihero/antagonist character, I'm really counting on collaborating with you in regard to this. I've had a couple of general ideas. One is that either Zane Arkwright or one of your characters will have no recollection of any damage they might have caused, hence the mystery of this fallen city. However, if whoever the antagonist is, has remembered his/her actions, he/she must have a current motive for keeping everyone blind. Otherwise, if there was a war and a person alone was not responsible, there is bound to be an atagonist in the midst of the madness. I'm leaving this all in our hands, to collaborate and share ideas to create a fun and hopefully successful, suspensful, aannd exciting, story! My Starter Characters. (Basic Info). Will add more as the story develops. Name: Zane Laurence Arkwright Gender: Male Age: 24 Height: 6'1 Weight: 145lbs, Thin Hair Color/Style: Black, Semi Long, past his ears, with wisped bangs over his forehead. Eye Color: Almond shaped, Blue eyes. Clothing: Black diagonal zippered vest & Black long-sleeved shirt underneath. Dark Blue Pants, boots. Other: Right arm is a silvery blue cyborg prosthetic. Name: Freya Gender: Female Age: 22 Height: 5'6 Weight: 125lbs Hair Color/Style: Long, straight dark brown Hair, straight-cut bangs. Layers. Eye Color: Brown. Clothing: Black leggings and flats. Purple long-sleeved, knee-length tunic/dress. Cross pendant on a thin, black necklace chain. Background What is not known by most characters in this story is the destruction that had come before. I'm thinking a war or an antagonist had been the cause of this. Further information will develop as the story develops. The story takes place in a foggy, desolate city on Xetheria. Purple vines cover the ruins of each once glistening skyscraper. Some buildings are more intact than others, sure, but the roads lay cracked and remnants of what was once a prosperous city now lay nearly empty of life. Upon entering the city, few have daydreamed, have let their minds wander to visions of what life must have been like for its prior citizens. As far as it is known, those do not recall what happened, for if there was a recollection of what event had occurred here, no one had mentioned it. Families and individuals dare not live in this city, for the sight of it causes much restlessness to any who come to visit. Chapter 1: Is it the beginning or is it the End? In the midst of the city, closer to the heart of it, a young man's eyes open as fog enters the dimly lit room, encircling him. He must've left the window open and fallen asleep. Tired and groggy, he lifted himself to his feet. The window, from where he stood, was set just at his head, so when he went over to it, he had to shut it by standing on the tips of his toes. The room was in an underground space just below the building. That must've been why it was mostly intact. In the room, everything was set up in an organized, minimalist manner. There was his small makeshift bed, an old, rusted table, and a small backpack on the floor leaning against the wall. He had been living here for as long as he could remember. The door of the room was dented, and he couldn't get it open to explore the rest of the underground rooms, which he assumed were just old storage rooms for what used to be an office building. Keeping up with daily routine, he took fruit from his bag he picked the day before, put the backpack over his shoulder, and climbed out the window.
  14. Hello and greetings I’ve recently been accepted here and am in need of practicing for possible para rp. This will be my first time doing such a style. What I need is just a small amount of character info and a picture if you are able.Name:Age:Hight:Weight:Eyes:Race:Alliance:Force talents:The primary focus in the beginning will be to see to it that as certain someone gets off Kamino for each of our characters to survive. “Mayday.. mayday... A cloacked man rascally coughs up a little more blood and gasps. “mayday.. calling the Kamino system for.. for emergency medical..” he coughed a bit more. “support.. turning on auto pilot..." A bright red light flickers as he flips a few switches. Upon landing on the platform in the dark and stormy night blood from the wounded male rushes with the water and off the platform. Before passing out from wounds mixed with the damaged armor and the salty rain water he looks at Y/C and asks "and who.. are you?". The worrier collapses and is taken to emergency care by 2 clone troopers.I apologize if if this is really shallow I did come from a Facebook page.
  15. Hi everyone! As mentioned in the title, I have a slice of free time here, and I'd like to start some 1x1 stuff if anyone's game. All threads will end May 1. Pace can be whatever you have time for between now and then. As for content, my happy place is slice of life with a heavy dose of character development - I'm also game for an adventure or quest if someone wants to bang one out with me. A lot of my characters are somewhat on the passive/reactive side, so I particularly enjoy working with goal-oriented characters and writers who have plot ideas they want to bring to life. I've got lots of time right now so I can potentially open up several of these threads! My characters are in my sig, or I could make a new one if the situation seems to require it.
  16. NOTICE: Recruiting now closed. Sorry. So, work is slow, and all my threads are even slower, and I feel the need to do something. I'm looking for one or two people to join me on a preferably fast-paced expedition into the wilds of Taen. When I say fast-paced, I mean I'd like to see one post per day, except on the weekends, since I appreciate that a lot of people (myself included) are often pretty busy then. But otherwise, on Monday through Friday, I'd like to see my partner(s) be able to post each day so this moves along at a steady pace. I do want to have fun with the thread, and I don't want the other person irritated with me, but really... threads where I have to wait a week for one person to post are just kind of irritating to me. lol I'm not going to officially say I want to follow "Brevity Rules", but I would prefer people write shorter posts if it means they can post more frequently. Naturally I don't mean too short of posts, because I wanna canonize this, but there's no need to write five paragraphs unless you're setting a scene or something. I would prefer more concise, to the point posts so we can have a bit more organic "action" and back-and-forth banter. The Scenario: Countess Abigail Karradeen is personally leading an expedition into the desert wilderness of Taen to recover the rumored artifact known as the Soulspeaker. The expedition is partially in reaction to a rival pirate faction having ostensibly discovered a clue to the artifact's location, leading Abigail to organize a force to go after them and try to recover it before they do. But as she is mainly a sailor, noble and merchant, not an adventurer, she may take on a couple people who can help guide her and her men to the sight of the artifact. Individuals with a background of adventuring in Taen are preferred. They will be paid well in gold for their efforts. I would also generally prefer only mid or low-level characters, just since high-powered demigod-type characters wouldn't really fit the type of setting I'm going for here. Like I said at the top, I'm going for a little more of an Indiana Jones (or Tomb Raider, The Mummy, Uncharted, if those float your boat better)-style adventure, so I general prefer the magic to be focused into the artifacts and obstacles rather than the characters. ONE more thing. As I did with last time I advertised and GM'd a thread, I'm gonna add a personal rule to this one. If you disappear off Valcure and do not respond to my attempts to contact you about posting, then I will assume you are gone for good, and I will kill your character in the narrative. I don't like it when people sign on to something, then just vanish without a trace and leave their fellow writers hanging. I will wait one week before I do this. So long as you communicate with me and ensure I know you're still around, we'll be good. Again, this is only if you disappear off the site; just missing your post time limit will only result in you forfeiting your turn for a round. Anyway, if I haven't scared you away already with my restrictions and expectations, please do submit a character sheet and sign on for a desert expedition!
  17. In the city of Weland, on the Continent of Terrenus, an event would happen which would make World News. That said, it is not something big, like a war or immediate mass deaths. It is not something that can be fought by swords and spell, at least not mainly and not effectively. No, it is something so small....yet so deadly. And it is starting now. A Virus....a Plague...has occured... The setting starts at night. The hospitals had recently getting some excess activity, and requested some help from various doctors groups hoping they would send doctors to assist their overload. After all, they understand the dangers of having an overworked hospital staff. After some work, or maybe resting from their travels after just arriving in the city, a group of individuals arrives at the Saezaeshita Hot Spring and Onsen, a popular and well known establishment with well known healing and rejuvenating powers. Perhaps they desired to take a dip to cool off after work, or to prepare themselves for extended work hours, or just wanted to rest up comfortably, but this social envirornment is considered safe and healthy. And while they are bathing and resting in a safe place, unaware at first more and more people are falling to some new sort of disease. And soon enough, in the middle of the night while everyone is asleep, a messanger arrives delivering an urgent report to one of the doctors staying there: An Illness has been confirmed, and its spreading through the city. Stage 1 of the DIsease: Fevers, running noses, coughing, some paling of the skin, and dizziness are the main symptoms. Stage 2: After a few hours to an entire day, they will begin expereincing hallucinations, have headaches, and in some cases their body produces a strange parasite inside their own bodies. Stage 3: A few more hours to another day later, and they will begin to enter psychosis while any magical or supernatural powers they have may begin to run amok. Many give into darkness and strangeness and will assault, normally and otherwise, any other non-infected being they find. IF a parasite developed, they will actively try to beat down and infect the healthy. The parasite has to be removed through emergency surgery mainly, with alternative methods maybe being possible. Stage 4: Once they reach this stage, they begun to convulse and have major Organ Failures. If a parasite exists, it takes over and fuses with the body, absorbing as much of the memories and information the host originally had as it can. However, they quickly lose their ability to be infectious after this stage. Please note that as they do not rise from the dead, this is NOT a zombie plague. The virus can spread through fluids or skin to skin contact. It can also be spread through coughs and sneezes. It is possible to take measures against being infected, but one has to work quickly and ensure that the methods remain fresh and operational. Additionally, the virus is immune against being cured magically, but is less resistant against anything that helps prevent the spread of viruses in the first place, like a purification field. Here are the Phases I have in mind for the RP: Phase 1: Social gathering and get together where the characters can meet and talk to each other before the action starts. Phase 2: After being woken up and alerted to the situation, the characters all try to work together to help identify, analyze, and deal with the infection, teaming up with the authorities and hospitals. Altercations with panicked people and rioters as a Quarantine begins to be established. Some more rowdy or heavily infected people begin to get violent. Phase 3: As the situation gets more stressful and tragic, and some of the Quarentines fail, the virus causes more people to go out of control and those with the Parasite mutation actively try to undermine the protagonists and their allies while also trying to spread the infection. Phase 4+: Most likely, it will end with the situation contained in Weland and the virus being stopped. However, in consideration of player choices and possible outcomes, there are different endings, such as the Virus spreading to other cities and so on. There is a need for Doctors and anyone with medical knowledge, as well as Adventurers who can help keep the peace and protect the doctors while they work. Please note that due to the direness of the situation, even if they arrive late any help would still be appreciated and it is open to join.
  18. Freedom in the Innocence of Avarice ouse Dali emerges ever farther from the sands of history, golden family roots finding light and thriving in the cracked dirt. Word of seamless Northtrail leadership and culturally privy Goldcourt tongues spread like wildfire. Attributes, members, and associates of the family’s branches were soon to be found in almost as many places as word of them could be. With growing recognition of the family, as with growing recognition of anything, came a swell of those who held house Dali in ill rapport. While reception of the family was largely well met, the world must always pockets of dissolution. The culturally privy could be mistaken for conniving, the air of leadership snide. What is this? Avarice Goldjest, considered a connoisseur of fashion in his circle of family and friends, had taken liberties with his father’s small fortune and gone travelling the Terran countryside with a couple friends. Well, he had come to village outside Dougton when he found himself accosted for his effeminate attire. Avarice stood up for himself boldly, flavoring his rebuttal with a couple spicy words he thought might add to his masculinity. Unfortunately for Avarice, the person he had exchanged verbal fisticuffs with was the village elder. His friends were not of enough fortitude to defend him when a group of luddite farmers in a recovering village called Tormo had locked him up for the slew of pompous insults; they were, however, man enough to return to House Dali and request help for their friend’s unfortunate blunder. In addition to a warning about the happenings upon Avarice, his friends tell of a large wolf prowling the area that attacks Tormo at night. Belos Titansinger, high priest and lawman of House Dali, answers the call to trial for Avarice’s freedom with two apprentice attorneys or journeymen he finds along the way. Together, the three will venture to Tormo and, do trial with the primitive folk village’s high counsel, and do what it takes to get their loudmouthed cousin back. Just how they will accomplish this feat may entail more danger and surprise than first meets the eye. What do we need? 1-2 people: Join Belos and save Avarice to advance in legal standing in house Dali; see what you can find in the blossoming village of Tormo; attempt to gain favor with the high counsel of Tormo, with Avarice, or Belos. @Diremast @KittyvonCupcake @ethela penna @Witches Brew (All other Dali family members tagged just in case they want to participate)
  19. Try-outs for Bad Guy Infamy mysterious and powerful criminal syndicate is hosting a try-outs of sorts; a trial mission into the land of Taen for the chance to be inducted into this immaculate trade. Taen, too peaceful? Nonsense! Or at least, that’s what someone might have said 2 years ago. Today though, there is a certain constituent of the criminal class who searches out people and places like this. Someone who is too complacent, too inactive or inattentive, can get their whole world shaken up like a snowglobe! Even some who keep their fingers wrapped tight around their wallets can find themselves shaken up and broke any day. Mortimer's Research Laboratory of Extradimensional Matters and Magical-Affected Physics in the land of Taen fell under a certain someone’s scrutiny when it accepted the yolk of much of Taen’s main city, Lunaris’s scientific innovation. Furthermore, Mortimer’s established itself as the city’s lead apothecary. His advances in medicine and the distribution of pharmaceuticals has attracted the attention of a doctor named Theodore Alexander Roxyer-Rollins Amantis. He has come with four associates, representatives from a pharmaceutical firm called Catalyst Medicinal Corp. in search of employment at Mortimer’s and a contract between Mortimer’s and Catalyst. Good fortune willing, Amantis and the Catalyst representatives hope to establish a pharmacy supplied exclusively with Catalyst medicine. @amenities and @-Lilium- pose as pharmaceutical representatives from Catalyst while Amantis talks them up to Mortimer. What Do I Want? (any of the below) 1-2 Players: Pretend to be pharmaceutical interns with high ranking members of the criminal syndicate and scope out other pharmacies in Taen, then convince them to sell Catalyst medicine; secure permits from Taen quality control centers for Catalyst meds to be distributed in Taen; submit article to the local paper about how Catalyst medicine saved you or a loved one from illness; etc. The effectiveness of the extra 1-2 Players may allow one or both of them a comfortable rank in the mysterious and powerful criminal organization.

  21. Hello everyone! So one of my favorite role plays I made on here was a quest to take back the world from a tyrant demon: A'rrazaah. Unfortunately, that roleplay died out and I want to make a remastered version with more people. Same story, just different people. So, is anyone interested? Here's the original.
  22. Amalia is a savage land. It sits on the back of a giant hermit crab. It bears a mountain of infinite heights. It carries upon it a race of hiveminded pygmy who could destroy men in a 1-on-1 wrestling match. The Ulway are the people to discover. These infant-like creatures have just as much sentience as man, only they wield it as one racial body instead of one divided by the ideals of multiple individual minds. The Ulway work together. They are not hateful of Terran people, as they have met several of them, but they know little of them. The Ulway are, to speak respectfully, susceptible to new businesses. While they are an intelligent people, they lack understanding of the economy under which Terrenus works. The values of the Ulway, instead of lying in currency like gold and silver, lay in goods like hides and new types of foods or animals indigenous to Terrenus. Juyst as the Ulway are a new discovery to Terrenus, their island rising out of the crushing ocean depths less than a year ago, the Terrans are a wonder to the Ulway. There is so much to do here! Establish godly power among the Ulway The Ulway worship a man named the Ginger God. Go to Amalia and find the Ginger God, and challenge his position to join the pantheon of Amalia's gods. Start a Business on Amalia! Amalia is a tropical island with a massive, volcanic mountain in its center. It is a veritable paradise waiting for the picking by resorts all natures. Create your own species! Due to being fastened to the ocean floor by elaborate machinery, Amalia has evolved separately from Valucre for at least hundreds of years. As such, it has developed its own creatures and plants! The general theme for these flora and fauna is an amalgamation between biology and technology. Below are listed examples of this fusion for your own reference when creating your very own species! 1) Millibyte (insect) - Millipede-sized creatures with golden limbs and and silicon bodies that are able to carry data and transmit both biological and technological viruses. 2) Edafos Oplopanax Pagis (EH-tha-fohs oh-PLOH-pan-aks payEEss) A.K.A. Pagis (plant) - Rarely seen and unfriendly forest inhabitant. Technically a terrestrial vine, Edafos uses cleverly browned edges and cracked skin to masquerade as a dying arboreal vine. On the ground, it uses flexion and contraction to shift loose sand and earth, forming a pit, in a method similar to the trapdoor spider. Its ends dangle into the pit and, when its unwitting victim steps on the seemingly 'dead' vine and falls into its trap, typically the entire length of the vine falls atop it. From that point, Edafos' significant thorns (measuring upward of 4" when mature) puncture its victim and the vine attempts, again through its unique flexion and contraction mechanisms, to further ensnare its victim. Escape is possible, but extremely painful, and the long-term effects of Edafos' thorns are unknown. 3) Yellow Calquartz trees (crystal) - Mt. Ichthys is covered in naturally forming trees of crystal that seem clear, but at nighttime release light similar to sunlight shining through water that brightens much of Amalia. Guidelines for Creature Submission - 1+ page thread detailing the discovery of this creature - Title and one paragraph description of the created creature so I can add them to Amalia Lore!!! Do anything else! Amalia is a deveoping island. As such, it is open to any type of growth! You need not listen to my suggestions if you have read over Amalia Lore and want to do anything I didn't list. PM me or post here with any ideas!

  24. [For the impatient, skip to the next words in bold to get the gist of this quest opportunity] I would like to ask you a question (and you don't have to be joining this thread to answer): How easy do you think it is to fight a pack of wolves? Ponder it for a moment, and really think about your response. If would be easy right? People have done it in real life all the time. Now consider the following situation: You are an adventurer — trapped several stories underground beneath a frozen city in the dead of winter, remnants of buildings ravaged by some past calamity. You, along with six others, are in the heart of enemy grounds. How many are there? Five? Ten? Fifteen? Twenty? You would wish that were the case, but in actuality, there are over a thousand, ravenous wolves lurking in the shadows, remnants of the disaster which befell the city which have made these ruins there home. Over the past year, they've gestated, growing in number, strength, and in intelligence. They aren't a pack of bloodthirsty animals anymore: they are a system of highly capable beasts whose sole purpose is to kill you, or worse. Trying to wipe them all out at once with wide-range magic didn't work — it just brought more of them to you. Splitting up didn't work either — those times you split, you never saw the others again. These white wolves are cunning beasts, and they don't attack blindly. They'll separate you like sheep from a herd, strike when you are at your most vulnerable. It's easy for them — you are in their home after all. These warpacks are led by towering, unnatural, monstrous wolves, so white in color, they fade into the snow itself, and if you were to defeat one, your name would most likely be recorded in the annals of Imperial South for your accomplishment — that is, if you get back. Rumors have it that there is more to these 'simplistic' beasts other than to maim or kill. Clearly, there are other forces behind the growing number of these beasts. Even as intelligent as they are, they are too organized. Too cunning. Too daring. Sightings have shown packs wandering farther and farther from their den, doing things that they've never done before like snatching men and women from their homes. But adventurers don't care. As a mounting threat in this ruined city grows, will you just stand by and watch? * * * So, suppose after that, you think this is all still trivial. Would you like to test your theory? This quest is a continuation of another quest I started in the summer which was taking on the Whispernight Quest in Cobran, Genesaris, but you don't need any prior knowledge to hop in. Just know we are diving into a beast-infested town, with a small party, in the dead of winter, where everything is trying to kill you. The goal? Find the source of the abnormal growth in wolf attacks and abductions. As custom, I shall be leading this adventure with carefully crafted NPCs and enemies, as well as a few characters of my own. Combat will not be easy — bring a character you aren't attached to, I assure you that killing these wolves will be less than easy. During the last quest, people scoffed at the wolves, yet one lost and arm, and the other almost lost her life. For reference, here is a list of things I usually go by when running these quests which you may find useful when deciding if this quest is right for you (my guide). I hope to see you join me in this little adventure, and I promise you... There will be cookies: If you don't join... 【 = ◈ ︿ ◈. = 】← sad face So see you there here ?
  25. Dear fellow citizens, I have thought that is was best to hop right into an RP but none truly suited me. That is why I have created "The Quest for Enlightenment". It is a fairly different quest. You will learn the way of the monk. I will not say what the "way of the monk is but by doing to the levels of the quest in succession you may join the ranks of the Island Monks. I am looking for a successor for that is my duty as the last surviving monk of my village. *Out of RP* NOTE: This will be a lax RP and I am not some screen hog. That being said once you say what you want to say, just let it be and I will get back to you in about an hour. I know that is this is kind of sucky bit I am focused on school right now so... live with it. Anyways, DM's open for registration. You can do the quest with others. To apply just fill out the form: ____________________________ Form: Are you willing to wait a bit for each response? (Yes/No) Are you willing to work in a group with others? (Yes/No) ((Saying no is ok but if you say yes I will start with you earlier)) Which time zone are you in? ____________________________ Anyways, Sub to PewDiePie. Destroy T-Series. Blahh Blahh Blahh
