  1. Original interest check Mechanics 1) Health Points (HP) When a character suffers physical damage, their HP is lowered. At tip top condition, they are able to perform 3 actions in a turn. As they get injured, their movements slow and they get less and less actions. Your number of actions for the turn is based on your HP at the start of your turn. You don't immediately gain an extra action after healing, only on the next turn. Every character starts with 5 HP. 2) Sanity Sanity affects your character's state of mind. The less sane you are, the more likely you are to miss or damage yourself, or even attack your team mates. I leave it to each of you as to what low sanity means for your character. Sanity rolls are applied per action, so if you use your first action to increase your sanity, you can use the improved sanity for the next action. Characters who participated in the first arc starts from sanity of 4 due to mental exhaustion from the previous failure and prolonged stay in Yh'mi. Fresh characters start with sanity of 5. 3) Skills Unlike the previous round, your character has a set of skills that they draw from, which differs from character to character. Each character will choose a set of skills from the skills list below. This will form the list of actions that your character gets to choose from every turn. Everyone will get 3 normal skills. On top of that, characters from the first thread will get 3 special skills, and new characters only get 2 special skill. The extra 1 special skill represents the characters gaining experience from the last battle and being able to form a better strategy for this fight. Movement does not require an action, but the distance you can move per turn should make narrative sense. Choose the actions that fit your character's fighting style the most! Support characters (heal, buff etc) could be as useful as offensive characters. Normal skills (choose 3 for your character) - Has no usage limit. Can be stacked in that turn (e.g. attack 3 times). You can delay 1 action over to the next turn (e.g. if you have 3 actions, you can delay 1 action so you have 4 the next turn). Special skills (existing characters choose 3, new characters choose 2) - Each one of these actions can only be used 3 times throughout this whole Furthest Point Part 2 arc. These actions are still affected by sanity, but if they miss or backfire, then they are not considered to be used. Use them wisely!   2. 'Class ? A dare among children causing them to perform a ritual to invite spirits into their home is rumored to be the cause of the high rate of missing children. Find out if this is true, or what's really happening.' In the city of Dougton, something sinister stirs. It is something of an open secret; acknowledged, but not agreed upon as to its causes or consequences. After all, who wants to be the one that knows exactly why so many children have disappeared into the night, and to have done nothing? Perhaps that shall be what compels a stranger or two, should they spot a child alight from a side or back window, to investigate. To know what the people of Dougton refuse to admit to. So, starting a new quest because I cannot help myself. Hoping for one extra person, maybe two if I can figure how to make it work somehow. That said, I would very much ask that whoever joins be prepared to post regularly. Obviously stuff might come up, so just say if so, but I would like to keep a regular flow going for this one. Don't wanna interrupt all the spooky fun with rituals and demons and possibly worse, after all. This will be a bit of a darker fare, just to note in advance.

As I've been pulled back into the fold of Valucre, I was given the idea by @King to begin a new saga involving one of my favorite characters from Genesaris, Gabriel Cantor. He has quite a bit of history in Genesaris and throughout, but most of that is the distant past as Gabriel has been particularly "quiet". The reasoning? No one's sure, but between us here in the OOC, the truth is he's been gathering swordsmen from across the lands willing to serve Rafael/Sauriel to achieve an eldritch knowledge to which the strongest swordsmanship can be found. I already have the general idea of the saga and how things will unfold, I only need active participants and those willing to develop their characters to new heights! All are welcome. Be prepared for PG13 - R rated writing (though tastefully) as the story calls for it. Due to my experience with RP, I only actually need three people at the moment. If things go according to plan and the story stays on the rails, I'll continue to recruit and renovate the concept and story overtime. If anyone has any questions, this is certainly the time and place!

RP Synopsis Connor 'Cog' Maxwell is a Magitech researcher specializing in the study of Void/Warp magic. He creates his own variation of Magitech equipment based on gears and cogs. Recently his studies have led him into the heart of Yh'mi where he thinks the presence of Void magic would be most prevalent. A few days ago, his theory has been vindicated: While staying in the eerily friendly Lirrey village, his monitoring device picked up a surge of Void magic coming from the south. There lies the Doomed Steps which lead into the Narrow Pass of Netherpeaks and the lonely Taen Mountains further south. Thus, he sent an urgent letter to the Gaian Academy to request for a group of adventurers/researchers to accompany him on his journey to investigate the energy spike. Would they be able to find what lies within Netherpeaks? And even if they did, would they be able to survive the eldritch horrors long enough to return back to the academy? But know that I cannot disclose who I am for fear of reprisals from unknown powers that may be monitoring me, even as I write this letter from the relative safety of Lirrey Village. Just like the rumors say, the people here are friendly and accommodating. But there is something 'off' about them that I can't put my finger on. So far, I have minimised all contact with them aside from procuring daily necessities. But I digress. I am simply a independent researcher who specialises in Void Magic just like you. However, you may call my methods a little 'unorthodox' to put it lightly. A few days ago, my monitoring device registered and unnatural energy spike in wavelengths only Void magic can emit somewhere southwards of Yh'mi. Probably emanating from inside the Narrow Pass in Netherpeaks. Who knows? Maybe even as far as the Taen Mountain. Whatever it is, I feel that it is worth investigating. Void Magic is already mysterious enough as it is. It could be a chance to discover more if we can find whatever it is that gave off that energy. However, I cannot do this alone. Yh'mi is already dangerous enough. But if you could spare some resources to gather a group of researchers and warriors to accompany me up the Doomed Steps, I think we'll be able to find something truly out of this world!   7. Setting: The island of Corinth, Andelusia City, Near the Beginning of Spring, two days after the death of Amelia Silverheart. Genre: Mystery, Horror Objective: To investigate the strange killing of Amelia Silverheart and discover the culprit of the crime. Danger Level: (Medium) Something had scared the victim so terribly that their heart gave out from fright. If the perpetrator is still in the area, then whoever is looking into the death may themselves be in danger. Reward: A monetary reward of a modest sum as well as political favor of small proportions for anyone who has any information that leads to solving the peculiar case of the death of Amelia Silverheart. Preferred Story Arc: The preferred Story Arc for this particular thread is for the various writers involved to be part of the investigation regarding the death of Amelia Silverheart. During this time, three people of interest are named that may have more information about the death or even responsibility for it. From a descending order there is Elsera Elludoria, elven diplomat from the Terran Empire of Odin Haze, come to Ursa Madeum to establish an embassy within the city. Then there is the medicine woman name Olga Earthblood, a witch who had recently moved from the wilds into the city to sell special herbs and potions to those looking to enhance their lives through magic. Finally there is the old knight Sir Darrell Bodinger, a veteran of the war for Ursa Madeum, who spends his days drinking at the local taverns. Through deductive reasoning and searching for clues, the writers will figure out which of the three people are in fact responsible for the death of Amelia Silverheart. Once that is done, they will be rewarded and sent on their way, all the while the true killer is revealed, and the mystery is truly solved to the audience instead of the characters themselves. What roles am I looking for?: Characters more suited to interaction than combat, preferrably. This is going to be more of a whodunit instead of a fight, so I'm definitely looking for those who chose charisma as their main Stat. Expectations: Good communication, cooperation and civility amongst the writers who are willing to join. It certainly won't be a very slow thread but I also don't want people bugging each other for posts, either. Aiming for at the very least two pages Created Opportunities: With the killer gone, the people of Andelusia can feel safe again, but there are still questions left unanswered. The greatest and most perplexing of all being, how does the gnarled old tree near the palace fit into the mystery itself?
  8. IC Teaser: Breaking News: The City of Casper has succumbed to a virulent plague. Prior to the enactment of a city-wide quarantine in hopes of impeding the spread of the contagion, thousands of citizens perished in agony as the plague ravaged victims' bodies and tore them from this world (see A Great Plague Comes to Casper in the Relevant Threads section of this OP). Yesterday, Casper's plight grew exponentially as the internal disruption posed by the plague exposed the city to a precipitous external attack. Assailants, whose identities have not yet been released to the public, engaged military forces within the city (see A Levee to Stop the Flow in the Relevant Threads section of this OP). While the assailants were driven back, estimates of the casualties suffered from the combined effects of the plague and the battle were estimated at five thousand persons with several thousand infected still quarantined within the city. Until further notice, government officials have declined to release more detailed information about the battle or the current status of the plague. Travel to and from the City of Casper is prohibited. However, sources at the boundary of the quarantined zone have reported a fleet of airships bearing the House Glasmann seal and the Glasmann Cryonics logo have arrived on the scene and, after a brief delay, passed through the quarantine and into the city proper. Does the collaboration between the Terrenus Military and one of the continent's premier medical firms guarantee a happy end to this catastrophe or does the involvement of the most infamous member of the Glasmann line, Caeceila Glasmann, imply a darker final solution to the epidemic? To find out more, lets go live to eyewitnesses at the scene... 15,000 infected individuals remain in Casper. Courtesy of Peacekeeper Zeph, the spread of the virus on which this arc centers has been halted for a time. Glasmann Cryonics is moving in to assist military forces with neutralizing all traces of the plague, analyzing the vectors by which the plague spread, and developing a vaccine against the plague so it will not pose a threat in the future. While members of the general not permitted to enter the city for their own safety, individuals supporting House Glasmann and military operations and a couple of individuals with special connections are allowed to enter secure, decontaminated zones within the city. Individuals with special connections could include reporters, medical personnel, emergency relief personnel, representatives of humanitarian aid organizations, and others who would like to be involved in this effort. Others might gain access to the city by busting through the quarantine or from having been trapped within the city once the quarantine was enacted. Shortly after this scene begins, certain individuals will begin to vanish from the city with little to no explanation. It's up to your characters to uncover the common link between those who have disappeared (if any), shed light on what has become of them, and take action in accord with their moral compasses. Other mysteries may be explored as well at your discretion. I'll be furnishing the opposition for the duration of this plot. A slot is reserved for @LastLight, but I'm not setting a limit on how many players can participate. If you would like to be part of the opposition or do something else related to what I have planned, please notify me of that somehow and we'll work something out.
