  1. Hello ? I have a lot to do with Nymeria of Genesaris’ Ariatic Ocean and I was wondering if anyone was interested in any type of interaction with the Ocean Empire? In regards to Terrenus, I was hoping to establish a consulate, be it with myself or @Malintzin Doesnt have to be something drastic but it can be! Maritime endeavors or land based endeavors. I myself am not picky. I should note that there is a consulate in Port Kyros, if anyone in the west of Genesaris wishes to reach out. But all are welcome to approach this little interest check. Questions regarding the consulate can go here or in my inbox! Any ideas? Hopes? Concerns?
  2. Have I got the roleplay for you! So, as an over-arching plot, I've had these body snatching aliens cooking in Terrenus for a while. I'm happy to go into the details of what they've gotten up to in the last few years, and how much of a threat a recent symposium has classified them as, but that's peripheral to what's going on here And what's going on here is that they're branching out. I'm too busy to individually follow these things through but that's the whole point of collaboration right?! It doesn't have to be just me!? So there's two things: 1. Grow an already established presence in Norkotia. This is a slow burn. The thread that comes out of this should be another step, another brick, and not a sudden eruption of ALIENS. Since snatched citizens are already seeded its about establishing and growing a political presence. You can think of this as playing a character with a dark secret, as opposed to a scifi alien plot. This shouldn't be a solo thread although only one of the players needs to be a snatched citizen 2. Establish a presence in another location - specifically Veluriyam empire (wherever their seat is which I believe is Taen), Hyperion, or Predator's Keep. This should be as close to a citizen or vassal or lord as the structure allows; we want to belong to their charter or institution whatever the case may be. There's oodles more locations to pick from but those are the three I want to focus on now. This can be a solo thread (such as the one I did for Norkotia) or a collective effort. Anyone interested? Note for emphasis - I won't be able to join personally but will organize and guide efforts
  3. 'Class ? A dare among children causing them to perform a ritual to invite spirits into their home is rumored to be the cause of the high rate of missing children. Find out if this is true, or what's really happening.' In the city of Dougton, something sinister stirs. It is something of an open secret; acknowledged, but not agreed upon as to its causes or consequences. After all, who wants to be the one that knows exactly why so many children have disappeared into the night, and to have done nothing? Perhaps that shall be what compels a stranger or two, should they spot a child alight from a side or back window, to investigate. To know what the people of Dougton refuse to admit to. So, starting a new quest because I cannot help myself. Hoping for one extra person, maybe two if I can figure how to make it work somehow. That said, I would very much ask that whoever joins be prepared to post regularly. Obviously stuff might come up, so just say if so, but I would like to keep a regular flow going for this one. Don't wanna interrupt all the spooky fun with rituals and demons and possibly worse, after all. This will be a bit of a darker fare, just to note in advance.
  4. It's kind of the hottest new thing right now: https://www.valucre.com/topic/40618-victory-asi/ An advanced super-intelligence, independent fractions of which are being loaned out in tightly regulated markets for experimental purposes Where we take the cutting edge and make it bleeding edge is as follows - some modules are being loaded into organic matrices (blank bodies) and then released into the world to develop their own reality maps / worldviews / personalities and values. So I'm looking for a slew of people, not to roleplay with one another, but to play a different "Tori" module released somewhere in Terrenus and left to grow/develop There's a lot of potential for different kind of stories here. Most of them would know what they are and what their purpose is, but maybe some of them wouldn't? Maybe some of them have total or partial amnesia? Maybe some of them disagree with the objective or the purpose of their design? Maybe some are fierce, fanatical loyalists and others are resentful contrarians? Your body is just a regular Terran human with a basic OS, which means they can do the things that an adult is expected to be able to do; read, cook, clean, fight (but not expertly), so on: https://www.valucre.com/lore.html/bestiary/terran-human-r626/ I'm also thinking of maintaining a general ledger of their insights / revelations from each thread-event in their lifetimes to represent the total body of knowledge to which the modules are exposed Cool or just weird?
  5. So the thing with this thread is there are no rules (and relatively no post order) really but keep it romance-free and PG. You jump in and create a starter or interact with someone already in the story (keep in mind responses to this should be more fast-paced as it's just something for fun. The length of your responses can be your preference). The only catch is you must use a character that is from a video game (like Legend of Zelda, for ex) or from an animated show. If it's a character that's more unknown, somewhere within your message put some information about them. The theme of this random RP is gathered from some inspiration I got recently about similar situations I've seen in stories. The genre is more leaning toward comedy as well as suspense/mystery. Any powers they had previously would be gone, leaving them basically powerless in this strange world. They would not remember their original lives but have new lives currently in this world. Perhaps they are in college, or they work a job, or they're a thug running through the streets--- whatever it is they do daily. The story takes place in a modern-like city where people wake up in a foreign, or maybe not so foreign land. What the characters don't know, is that everything around them is not truly what it appears. The longer they spend their time there, the more that some of them might to feel "off" or visibly notice something unusual going on. Go ahead and leave which character you claim below. And head to this thread to post a starter:
  6. Update #3 15/05/2019: An OOC thread has been created! You can go to it by clicking on the link here! Everyone who has posted their interest to join this party should also post their character bio in the OOC thread to confirm their intention to join this roleplay! Please do so within the next 2 days to avoid being left behind! See you guys soon! UPDATE #1 10/05/2019: This interest check is now officially looking for RP members! RP Synopsis Connor 'Cog' Maxwell is a Magitech researcher specializing in the study of Void/Warp magic. He creates his own variation of Magitech equipment based on gears and cogs. Recently his studies have led him into the heart of Yh'mi where he thinks the presence of Void magic would be most prevalent. A few days ago, his theory has been vindicated: While staying in the eerily friendly Lirrey village, his monitoring device picked up a surge of Void magic coming from the south. There lies the Doomed Steps which lead into the Narrow Pass of Netherpeaks and the lonely Taen Mountains further south. Thus, he sent an urgent letter to the Gaian Academy to request for a group of adventurers/researchers to accompany him on his journey to investigate the energy spike. Would they be able to find what lies within Netherpeaks? And even if they did, would they be able to survive the eldritch horrors long enough to return back to the academy? UPDATE #2 11/05/2019: Player list: @Vetanoob @Voldemort @Gloxie @Shamash Loremaster: @jaistlyn Hi everyone! This is just an interest check for anyone who's interested in delving into an RP that delves into concept of Void Magic. I don't really have a solid story to start a thread with yet, but I did come up with snippets of inspiration. If anyone is interested, do reply here in this thread and we can discuss where to go and how to develop a story from here! I have organised whatever I have found/created into this table here: ON THE BASIS OF VOID MAGIC More canon (?) information on Void Magic can be found here in this link: I've created a character who seems to inhabit 'The Void' or 'The Warp': @jaistlyn @desolate A mysterious letter requesting for a research expedition to Yh'mi To: Head Research Analyst - Doctor Megan Starweight, PhD Mana Mechanics and Computational Casting, The Gaian Academy From: A supporter of your work Dear Dr. Megan, I know this letter might seem sudden to you. But know that I cannot disclose who I am for fear of reprisals from unknown powers that may be monitoring me, even as I write this letter from the relative safety of Lirrey Village. Just like the rumors say, the people here are friendly and accommodating. But there is something 'off' about them that I can't put my finger on. So far, I have minimised all contact with them aside from procuring daily necessities. But I digress. I am simply a independent researcher who specialises in Void Magic just like you. However, you may call my methods a little 'unorthodox' to put it lightly. A few days ago, my monitoring device registered and unnatural energy spike in wavelengths only Void magic can emit somewhere southwards of Yh'mi. Probably emanating from inside the Narrow Pass in Netherpeaks. Who knows? Maybe even as far as the Taen Mountain. Whatever it is, I feel that it is worth investigating. Void Magic is already mysterious enough as it is. It could be a chance to discover more if we can find whatever it is that gave off that energy. However, I cannot do this alone. Yh'mi is already dangerous enough. But if you could spare some resources to gather a group of researchers and warriors to accompany me up the Doomed Steps, I think we'll be able to find something truly out of this world! If not, I fear the realm of the Warp may be forever lost to us. Signed, A friend Somewhere inside Yh'mi... "Hello... old friend. You might remember me... or not. You may have many questions, though the first one that enters your mind may seem the most pertinent. I assure you it is also the most irrelevant. To keep things simple, the gods were moved by your sacrifice. They did say the price for it was your life. But it seems you have interested them as much as you did interest me. They gave you a second chance. What happens when you're a man out of time? A man out of place? Who knows nothing of where he is, what has happened or how much time has passed? Will you cling on desperately to a past that may no longer exist? Or will you stay the course and clash head on against an uncertain future? Unfortunately, the process you went through has changed you fundamentally. You might not be the same person as you were before. But one thing that hasn't changed is my gift. For good or ill, the gift of my mark shall stay with you; granting you powers different and beyond those of other men. Seek the ancient runes bearing that very same mark in the lonely places of your world and at shrines raised in my name. Remember: Whatever you choose to do, know that I will always be watching... Just as I have done back then... with great interest."
  7. Setting: The island of Corinth, Andelusia City, Near the Beginning of Spring, two days after the death of Amelia Silverheart. Genre: Mystery, Horror Objective: To investigate the strange killing of Amelia Silverheart and discover the culprit of the crime. Danger Level: (Medium) Something had scared the victim so terribly that their heart gave out from fright. If the perpetrator is still in the area, then whoever is looking into the death may themselves be in danger. Reward: A monetary reward of a modest sum as well as political favor of small proportions for anyone who has any information that leads to solving the peculiar case of the death of Amelia Silverheart. Preferred Story Arc: The preferred Story Arc for this particular thread is for the various writers involved to be part of the investigation regarding the death of Amelia Silverheart. During this time, three people of interest are named that may have more information about the death or even responsibility for it. From a descending order there is Elsera Elludoria, elven diplomat from the Terran Empire of Odin Haze, come to Ursa Madeum to establish an embassy within the city. Then there is the medicine woman name Olga Earthblood, a witch who had recently moved from the wilds into the city to sell special herbs and potions to those looking to enhance their lives through magic. Finally there is the old knight Sir Darrell Bodinger, a veteran of the war for Ursa Madeum, who spends his days drinking at the local taverns. Through deductive reasoning and searching for clues, the writers will figure out which of the three people are in fact responsible for the death of Amelia Silverheart. Once that is done, they will be rewarded and sent on their way, all the while the true killer is revealed, and the mystery is truly solved to the audience instead of the characters themselves. What roles am I looking for?: Characters more suited to interaction than combat, preferrably. This is going to be more of a whodunit instead of a fight, so I'm definitely looking for those who chose charisma as their main Stat. Expectations: Good communication, cooperation and civility amongst the writers who are willing to join. It certainly won't be a very slow thread but I also don't want people bugging each other for posts, either. Aiming for at the very least two pages Created Opportunities: With the killer gone, the people of Andelusia can feel safe again, but there are still questions left unanswered. The greatest and most perplexing of all being, how does the gnarled old tree near the palace fit into the mystery itself?
  8. Who likes festivals!? It's been awhile since I've seen a festival thread or mass parties. Now since I don't wish to have a festival on Valucre, mainly because I don't know how to go about doing it. However since I have my very own Crescent City which is known for it's festivals, parades, and fun. Crescent City is an extraordinarily unique city. It's culture, people, and outstanding friendliness is what makes it known for it's amazing sense of fun. The city officials in charge of travel and magic had finally done it. They made universal travel happen finally! So in honor of this achievement they decided to hold a festival. A universal festival. This festival, unlike the former ones, will be multi-day event and go through the entire days it's active. Crescent City is a very unique city with its style and design. It is inside a magic bubble that once inside the enormous city appears in the style you are used to. Everything is the same throughout, the size of the buildings, the streets, the capital building, the coliseum. Which means if a forest creature is in the city it'll appear more nature styled but someone from a more mechanical style city is next to them they'll see it in a more machine style. Now what makes the city so friendly is that it's not known for violence (unless it's in good fun of course) but rather it's diverse group of people who inhabit within. It ranges from semi/humanoid races to aliens to demons and angels. The start of the festival begins with a portal. Millions upon millions of portals appear from seemingly thin air. Looking through the other side you see a a city. Normally you wouldn't walk through a new portal to who knows where but something entices you. A sense of wonder, fun and friendliness. Even to those of you who are considerably diabolical and evil, you feel like something is drawing you in. Though no matter who you are, you'll most likely be enticed walk through. Once you get through however, you aren't compelled anymore. It's all your decision now. Will you stay and have fun and enjoy the festivities? Maybe make new friends? Or maybe... find out about the city itself. Something about it just doesn't seem... natural. Almost as if something more sinister is going to happen. Although that might just be your imagination running wild. Or is it?
  9. Am mobile so pardon my brevity. Except don’t because this will be using brevity rules. Let me know if you don’t know what that means The premise of the thread is that my character is coming in as a private party hired to salvage a stolen shipment. The fee for recovery will be half of whatever we manage to salvage Let me know if you’re interested and a little about your character’s motivation for involvement
