  1. As maybe possibly promised, here is my third quest that I'm hosting in Yh'mi! And this is the big(ger) one too! Did I really end up putting the interest check off this long? rip Description: Venture into the Whitewoods, while trying not to die! Locate a particular variety of vine, then figure out how to harvest it without dying! See if it can be used to calm Saevion... without dying! Is there a trend here? Definitely not! And hey, if this ends up succeeding... Saevion. Riders. ? So anyways, I'm looking for at least two, and up to four other people to undertake this quest with me. Also, as promised, @Ghastardly
  2. ... and not for the sake of a joke. Hello there, ladies and gentlemen! Today, I bring you an opportunity that's a little out of the ordinary. Tracking down and obtaining an artifact is pretty typical fare, isn't it? Group meets in a bar or something, intrepid leader susses out the details, and the merry band of adventurers is of to seek out an object of great power- but, oh, how often have you seen somebody undertake a quest to take an existing artifact and make it stronger? To take one of those objects of great power and make it another cut above? That there is precisely what I'm here for. I'm looking for a partner with which to undertake this task. But I'm not opposed to making this a group of 3 or 4, depending on how much interest I get! As this will be raising a B-class artifact to an S-class, it will be three pages long, making up the difference between the artifact class requirements. Standard norms for my threads apply: skipped if no word about posting status after three days, posting order established by the order of the first round, etc. etc.
  3. The ancient Arch-Demon, Kahd'Xel Yedapher has awoken from its eternal slumber and terrorizes Valucre once again. The demon is a horrid beast filled to the brim with vile unholy plagues and eyes that shine a poison light. Ancient scrolls tell of it feasting on the flesh and magical essences of countless creatures and it aims to do so once more. The demon has been seen dashing across the wastelands of Lagrimosa heading south with unnatural speed and ferocity. Soon it will reach the town of Treedell just east of Sidereal Lake. A quaint logging community with a population of 200. If no one stops it it will devour all life in its path and grow stronger than anyone can handle. It must be stopped now! (OOC) I'm trying something out here. Basically I'm going to be posting once a day having Kah'Xel devour everyone in Treedell. If you guys want to jump in and stop me or like chat about the weather, jump in. Otherwise, I'm going to just eat all 200 people and their pets and livestock. Don't fight Kah'Xel blind though, this guy is pretty nasty and basically can cause radiation poisoning and disease just by getting close to him. So don't accidentally show up with someone who can't handle poison or disease unless you have a game plan. The Thread
  4. This is for everyone. Especially those who are newer and maybe don't know where to start after their 90 days ( I think that's how it works - I'll re-read the rules one day) Is there a plot? Do not know. Just winging it at the moment. If something comes from it then great. This is piggy backing off of @Rin who kindly announced some of the lesser sky islands right here to get used. If I placed this in the wrong section, I assume that someone (specifically looking @supernal )will correct it. Azure Seas
  5. The Verm settlement of Tradetown; a bustling town of commerce and trade, populated almost entirely with refugees, has no immediately identifiable neighbors. The Forbidden Woods of Lagrimosa, once home to a strange (and frankly, unfriendly) group of Fae is home to no species beyond the rat-like Verm, who seek to raze the forest in the pursuit of infinite expansion and regional supremacy. In this endeavour, they are almost certainly alone, having alienated or antagonized their closest, smaller neighbors and have so far failed to arrange proper diplomacy with larger settlements nearby. While some trade has been established here and there, and those supplies often curb the hunger pangs of the growing masses, a troubling series of reports have come in, that have prompted a hasty investigation. Somebody is raiding Verm caravans along the roads into the Forbidden Woods, but whom? The Skarr Clan, the current and uncontested rulers of the Verm population on Lagrimosan territory, have sent out a request--seeking adventurers, mercenaries, wayward lawmen or whomever chooses to take up the call. The job listing doesn't specify how qualified they're meant to be, how dangerous the job is, or how much they'll get paid. Somebody has drawn at least three gold coins under the word 'Reward', so that's probably a good sign, right? Who: I am looking for anywhere between 1 and 3 participants in this thread. They only need to be on Lagrimosa in order to participate, but it's ideal if they know how to fight at least a bit, or have other useful abilities. What: Writers will be speaking with the coordinator of the hunt, who will then direct them either to other caravaneers who may know something about the missing wagons, or to the last known site of the missing wagons. The writers will then attempt to find clues as to the location of the missing supplies, the attackers, and anything else of note. You should expect to do some creative problem solving, and come up with your own approaches and solutions to whatever situations are thrown at you. Where: This thread takes place in the Forbidden Woods, outside of Nesthome in Lagrimosa. You can read up on Lagrimosa if you're new by checking out the Lore tab on the top of the webpage, and if you click on Lagrimosa from there, you can also find a link to Nesthome, for information on the Verm, Nesthome itself, and other stuff. When: The Thread will begin in a week from today, or sooner if we get three participants before then. If there aren't any participants, or not enough participants, I will fill in empty space with NPCs and stuff. Why: This thread serves to grow the Verm's influence in Lagrimosa, and also is one of 3 threads I hope to do that firmly spread Skarr Clan's identity through the region. In time, I hope to have functional trade routes, partnerships and the like. This particular thread will also hopefully allow the Verm some canon backing to their future projects, such as warp-based weaponry, biochemical weapons, and mutations, so that's pretty cool. Rewards: Money, of course, but a number of other unique Verm rewards, possibly including: -Unique Verm-based magic items -Ancient Fae Relics -An Artifact or two, if I ever figure out how to make some of my own -Rat Brides(???)
  6. Hello! I am trying to spread some faith and bash evil in its face across TerFractImosa!! Yshmael, Gaian Apprentice and Nomadic Pilgrim is seeking out evil on a path (unorganized but loosely) eventually delivering him to Yh’mi once he becomeS a Paladin. So help me get those thread counts up! Peaceful or warfare I don’t mind! Spitball with me about Gaia too! I wanna live the lore!!!
  7. This will be brief but this is a subsidiary interest check, and I'll try to keep it from being too complex. So here's the rigamarole- Basically, @supernal tossed out a thread asking for new recruits for the Terran military. He also extended this offer to contractors, and mercenaries. Then, he created an interest check for repairs and military investigations in Ignatz that actually was in response to a CANONIZED(!!) thread. This means that that the follow up thread- This one Here is the OOC This will also strive to be canonized, and your participation here will therefore have a real impact on the lore (and Ignatz itself). The actual marching orders read as follows It will vary by person, but any who are interested will receive a missive that directs them to rendezvous at the Ignatz, specifically The Purple Axe Tavern and Inn. So essentially, people are being hired by the Terran Military to come help investigate recent demonic/cult activities here in the religious capital of Terrenus L A g R i M o S a. I would love any help with this, as I feel it has the potential to go from a slow, intense, investigation; and transform into an action packed, high octane, violent lecture on the finer points of Terran litigation to the unwashed cult masses. It'll be a blast! So hit me up here, and pitch a character, and we'll start running.
  8. "I will show you how the mighty fall." ☾ The Grand Kommadant of Nehalen has begun the process of removing the mighty Gods of her land. The balance between these Gods of the people of Nehalen is being disrupted by the Kommadant's blasphemous actions. By erecting a nullifier in the form of an invisible veil, Primera begins the process of pushing these powerful beings back into their own world, sundering them from the land they have called home for eons. An action done to protect her people from the Gods who have all been disruptive before the nullifier had been put in place. The veil is simply the tipping point; it is believed this action to protect her people from the Gods is what has sent the Gods into a frenzy. Their powers are being siphoned from them the more they fight against the push, weakening them immensely, and their minds have begun to dwindle into psychosis. Once revered and fondly feared, the Gods are now looked upon as a disease in the eyes of the Grand Kommadant's followers who believe the time of Man has finally come. ☽ Welcome! I'm glad you all could drop on by to my little event I've got here. Things are pretty straight forward around these parts: Nehalen (formerly Renovatio) is going through some changes and this event will be the spark to said changes. I'm asking you all to affect my lore by joining the threads offered to kill a God and properly canonize them. The Gods are scattered across Nehalen and I will provide you those locations. Kill a God, become a hero (or villian)! Q&A: How many pages do the threads need to be? I am looking for at least two pages. Can always be more but can't be less! How many Gods can I kill? As many as you want but you can only go after one at a time. Can I do this alone? Absolutely! If you want to solo kill a God, I see no issue with that. Do I need to use a specific character? No. You can use whatever character you want but I do expect some sort of fairness from you all. Please keep to mild powers associated with the forum. Do I need to use a specific combat system? No. I am allowing everyone to go kill crazy with this but, again, I do expect some sort of fairness from you all. Please realize this isn't supposed to be easy; I expect damage not only to the area(s) you are fighting the Gods in but also damage to your character. Can I contain a God? Go right ahead! Contain it however you want, doing whatever you want, just keep in mind that it is a lesser, weaker version and it will be that way forever due to my character cutting said God's will off. Can I absorb the spirit/essence of the God? Of course! Do I need to use a storyteller? If you feel it is necessary, go right ahead! I don't know how to start? No worries! I will be creating prompts for all the Gods that need to be killed and you can follow that prompt however you wish. Just post in the thread and have fun. How long do I have once I start? I would appreciate 1 post per 3 days. This will keep the thread going with hopes it'll be finished at an appropriate time. If I see a thread has stalled for more than two weeks, I will assume that God is up for grabs again. If you need more time, reach out to me! I understand how life can be a bit hectic. I'm done, now what? Tag me in your summary for the thread with opportunities (example: killed the God, ended up destroying a city/village/town, how will this affect the area? Was something unleashed during this? etc.) for future role-players. I need some extra help! Never hesitate to reach out to me. I am constantly available on Discord, making it the quickest way to get answers. No Discord? That's okay, just send me a pm or tag me in the OOC for this event. How long is this event? Until all the Gods are killed off or just enough of them are killed. 9. Potentially Discriminating Reading Theme River Raiders Svanhild Quest River Raiders — River pirates are attacking trade boats along the Symarron River between Cal Eteris and Canterstone. A mysterious patron is looking to hire able-bodied adventurers to find the pirates’ hideouts and destroy their operation. ♦ Requirement: 1+ pages (16+ posts), 1+ players ♦ Reward: Satisfaction The peaceful people of prosperous Svanhild are plagued by pirates. Will you protect them? Hello, I'm Die Shize! You may remember me from such roleplays as "Honey, I Shrunk the Gnomes!", "The Lord of the Forums: The Fellowship of the Forum", "A Loud Place" and "Star Trek: Star Wars". But today I'd like to talk to you about a most noble quest to stop a pack of pesky pirates from harassing the good fine people of the Queendom of Svanhild! After all, vielle went through so much hard work to give these folks a pleasant place to live in, and the last thing she needs (as the true queen of gold and green) is these good-for-nothing river raiders raiding unchecked and unchallenged (like those Uruk-hai from that one film that you may not remember me from). Well, far be it from me to exclude myself from this weighty responsibility of safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of my fellow Svanhildians (Svanhildians? Svanhilders? Svanhildenerfolken?). No, I shall answer this plea for help with sword and shield, sail and ship, determined to cure this piratical disease one injection at a time...and I shan't be going at it alone. Who, I ask among my fellow Valucreans, shall join me in this most noble and most epic and good and fine quest to row our boat up and down the Symarron River and put an end to those who poison its waters? Who will aid me in my good and fine duty to seek out the pirates' hideout and put them and their perverse business...out of business...once and for all? Join me as I plot a course into Ursa Madeum, into the Queendom of Svanhild, into the Symarron River, and into the breach. It will be a roleplay to remember, so that the next time you introduce yourself, you can do what I do and say "You may remember me from such roleplays as "River Raiders"." I am looking for a maximum of three participants in this roleplay-quest-adventure-thing, including myself. I figured we'd start out meeting this mysterious patron person and go from there. It's been a minute since I've roleplayed so I may be a little rusty, so forgive me for assuming that I will do most of the DMing (including the mysterious patron), though if that should be someone else then that is good and fine. There will be a reward for this quest: the satisfaction of having helped good and fine people. Well, something more tangible too, but that is a secret for now. You will sail on my ship, the Iron Justice, captained by my character, Wallace Ambrose. We can assume that Wallace is selected by their contractor to lead the mission and the other two PCs are to assist. Wallace is specifically interested in individuals who know the land and water of Svanhild more than he does, to help him and his crew navigate toward their quarry, since he is relatively new to the scene. Now, if noble causes aren't quite your thing, we can also throw in money as part of the reward package. I'm sure that's no issue. The pirates will likely have a hoard of stolen goods in their hideout, and perhaps a portion of that can be rewarded as well. I could ask vielle on the front end, or play the old 'forgiveness instead of permission' card and just do it anyway and then backtrack after the fact all oopsy-woopsy lol I say we meet in a tavern, our characters either having heard of the job beforehand or finding out at the tavern, whatever floats your boat, and that's where the contractor can get into the meat and potatoes of the mission (and you can eat meat and potatoes too because tavern). I will of course make the thread. Well, words are hard, but there you have it. WHO'S WITH MEEEEEEEEEE IC thread OOC thread Participants Die Shize - Wallace Ambrose supernal - TBD Venus Sprite - Sam the Mage
  10. "I will level with you, my Brother. I am invested in the People--I wager my godhood that I can restore the Senarian civilization to its glory. I believe I can liberate them from a vicious cycle." "You impress me with your boldness, Banished One. If you can indeed, you will be allowed to return to the Inner Planes and receive your mantle once more. Should you fail, your punishment will be eternal." Once upon a time there was a splendid civilization that saw a golden age. And then? it fell. And from the ashes, another civilization rose, destined--surely--for greatness. But it too, fell. The Sun God Arundae'raa--a Trickster God, saw this and was saddened. He made a wager with his brother Dema; the God of the Moon, of dreams and destruction And then a Sovereign child was born. You see, the Sun God had tricked his brother--as Tricksters do--with this sovereign child. He was determined to see the people who once worshiped him rebuild new. Though he too--in time--fell. But not before he had given his champion the tools and knowledge needed to liberate her people and rebuild. And so, she did. -- Interest Check: Lorebuilding/Lorecrafting Genre: Medieval Fantasy®/ Lite Exalta Crystal & Steam Tech Cit(y)ies: The Sovereign City of Hyperion - Hyperion City is a melting pot of Asian-inspired cultures and serves as the imperial capital, wrapped up in a magical setting and overshadowed by a divine war. Vinosea, the City of Thieves - If you like all things roguish, court of thieves, criminal underworld with conspiracies, sin and debauchery you'll find your fill in Vinosea. The Sentinel City of Athadas - Military? War? Weapons and armor? Harsh training, dragon riding and political plots? Athadas. Always in Athadas. The Garden City of Brehill - Those who enjoy botany, medicines, poisons, agriculture and gardening will enjoy Brehill's more slice of life pace. The Arcane City of Imradel - Sorcery and arcane? Guilds and all things magic and institutionalized education? Imradel is your city. Location: The Rising West, Genesaris Pace: Casual, 1-3 a week, depending on the group Seeking: A group for ICly establishing these cities for canon; residents, business partners, shenanigans! New to Hyperion? Click Here - Some of this is new and being updated over the weekend, pardon the mess! Questions? Ask them here Lore Page? Here's a WIP. Nothing is set in stone Need Inspiration? Look no further Hi guys! Linty here. Been a while since I've done one of these! First let me say, I am overly thrilled that Port Kyros is thriving. Thank you for your awesome support! Now? It's time to rebuild Hyperion and its satellite cities. You see, while I was AFV I asked some awesome folks (I see you danzilla, Rin) to kick down my sandcastle in Fracture so I could eventually rebuild it in Genesaris--and so, here we are! Each city is unique in its flavor, and there will be tons of opportunities in each one. Just take a peek and see what's available to you... ...a lot, as you can see! Q: So what is Hyperion? Hyperion is the overarching name of an empire made of several magic-drenched cities and queendoms in Genesaris that operate under a little lady named Queen Raveena and her family Q: And you need what now? Just some stellar folks who enjoy writing awesome things to join me in (a) thread(s) (and hopefully, many more in the future!) to build these supa' rad cities. The only lore pages that are written out but not set in stone is Hyperion City and Brehill. You will each have an opportunity to contribute something--not just to the thread of building the city, but to the lore pages as well. If you have something in mind? Let's talk about it! I want to hear from you! Because these cities will be newly minted, they can be malleable and fleshed out within the scope of their themes. If you have an interest in helping to build more than one, you're more than welcome to jump between threads with whatever characters you'd like. Tech is light and magitech in nature, with room to grow! I have a lot of sweet artifacts and treasures to roll out after this, but I wanna do right by the lore and get these places canonized, first! All in all, I'm opening up the doors to you guys to come and help me get this idea off the ground and carve up the Rising West with activity. Most importantly, we aim to misbehave are going to rock out and have fun. And in the spirit of continuing to name thread titles after songs, you should totally listen to this super cool song that inspired said IC title. Anyway. Come help me rebuild! ---
  11. INTEREST CHECK Hello all, I was wondering if I could get some help with a rp. I am writing up the return of my very first and old charrie, Rin. I have lore, though I'm super lax about it. I need either 2-4 people, playing either the good or bad side. Its mostly about Rin once again going to all lengths to get her homeland back from the new elder since she's been away. I'll also be playing the resistance side, trying to revive a dead man and also trying to stop Rin. Should be fun. Sorry if this muddled, I suck at explantions.
  12. I have a mercenary/monster hunter/adventurer named Howl who has recently been cursed. Hoping to find a cure, Howl has traveled from Alterion to Fracture by way of Renovatio in search of a cure. I’m looking for 2-3 individuals who would be interested in taking part in a multi faceted plot which will see us take on a quest in every major continent. 1) Fracture - Quest [class b] birds of a feather...- Goal: return Howl to a Human (more or less) form. [COMPLETE] 1.a) Fracture - Thread - Goal: Learn as much as possible about the Zeed tribe of Blaurg Mountain. 2) Genesaris - Quest TBD - Goal: learn the origins of the cursed amulet and how it came to be in Alterion. 3) Alterion - Quest TBD - Goal: Locate Howl’s original client... 4) Renovatio - Quest TBD - Goal: Revenge, Profit????, Answers. Other than the backstory of the Amulet, I have none of this plotted out. Each adventure we take in each region will have its own impact on the story as well as it’s own reward. I’m looking for anyone who is willing to help me push this story forward and vibe some old school random writing.
  13. I'm going to give this one more go before I dump it into the ever-growing pile of stillborn RPs: Beneath Vdara city lies the Dragon Grounds, a place where dragon kin raise their young, nurse their eggs, accumulate their treasure hoards and live in privacy with their own kind. Recently there's been a cave-in. Strange creatures now roam the caves and the populace is fleeing where they can. A sinkhole has linked the surface city of Vdara with the Dragon Grounds, and many non-dragon citizens have become trapped as well. Players can join Torie (see my signature) to rescue survivors, fight mysterious monsters or plunder the dragon's treasures. The latter must be done in secret, as Torie isn't likely to let you get away with it without opposition! Original Info: There’s been a cave-in in the Dragon Grounds, the cave network where the dragon residents of Vdara city reside. What’s more, the caves are now infested with strange creatures attacking the rescuers. They leave their victims either dead, or in a state of delirium that prevents them recalling their attackers correctly. Most of the rescuers have been driven off, though cries for help still echo out of the entrance. Torie just can’t sit aside and listen to the screams. She heads back to the nearest inn and asks for capable warriors, healers or adventurers to join her in getting as many people out as possible. This is where you come in. Those who choose to join her will be fighting monsters, rescuing the injured (draconian and humanoid), and trying to determine what is going on: Is the appearance of these creatures a coincidence, or is this the beginning of a subterranean invasion that threatens the entire city?
  14. Alrighty, I figured that I had procrastinated long enough - now is the time for me to just post it. Link here, looking for a partner to engage in my first RP on this site (though not in general)! Genre: That isn't really a focus for me - action, mystery, adventure, the whole nine yards. I'm fine with anything for this particular start, really. Location: Genesaris (or anywhere nearby) would work well, as that's where my character, Khada Reis, dropped down to begin with. Of course, I'm sure that i can work something out if you had another location in mind. Idea: This will be Reis's first time in Valucre in general. I planned on having the little guy start off about a week after arriving in Genesaris, so that he'd be somewhat used to things (at least, whichever city he dropped down in). Interactions can range from anything, new enemies to new friends (though it takes a bit to gain his trust), mentor characters, or anything else. The plan was to start some sort of interaction with Khada, no matter the nature of it. He needs to get used to the world around him before starting on his main quest. My pace varies from time to time. I like to post every day, but hey. Life happens sometimes, and I occasionally wait a few days before posting. Still, I like to try and be consistent. If you're worried about me negating the RP as a whole, then don't worry! I've got experience in keeping up^^ Anywho. . . interested?
  15. Mae Govanen Friends, Strangers, and Fellow Fortune Seekers, If you happen to be receiving this message you have happened across my Emergency beacon spell. I must be brief but I am Captain Richter Konig of the Justicar. In a recent battle we fought against a Nest of Sky Pirates left my Vessel severely damaged and unable to to make harbor for formal repairs. We are currently Grounded and in needs of supplies to perform emergency repairs. The Goddess has blessed us that most of our engineering team made it out alive. But most of our Personal flyers were destroyed save a handful. We have located a forest and cavern that should provide us the necessary raw materials to salvage my vessel. But alas my former command crew is all missing in action and I need to leave my Ground crew and Marines to keep the Auxiliary teams secure while we secure the resources. I need the aid of a few brave souls to assist me in acquiring these materials. If we all happen to make it out of here alive. I could use capable hands on my Ship. Goddess watch over you. (Themes: Action/Survival/Adventure)
  16. Hey. Sorry to add a little topic to the water cooler. I’ve been super lonely lately. I wanna jump into threads on Val, but don’t really have the drive. I have that super ambitious project I planned, but Psyched myself out on. Long story short, I’m craving a long term rp or at least a long term partner. Things are kinda rough? Not exactly that. Got a great big void in my heart for interactive stories and people I like. Haven’t been doing much on here. So if you’ve time to kill and can be on regularly or at least tell me something is going on, how about we work something out? Not the biggest combat person. I like character interaction. Long term stories and I’d like to do a big list here, but generally I’m down for most anything that isn’t gory or violent. Sit com style. Romance style. Most genera are open. The general rule of thumbs, 1 paragraph, I’d like to give more but I’m running low on steam I wanna collapse in on myself at this point. And just good or exciting stories. Sorry if I’m a bad partner. I try my best but my story telling needs lots of work what else? Craving some dragons, ghosts, gods, angels , demons, just about anything exciting or out of the usual. But I’m not picky. Sorry this is a mess. Thanks for the time I’ve you’ve read this. Either Pm and let it be know or comment or like the post and I’ll on you, if you’re a shy bee. Good night good luck happy life safe travels Etc. Imma collapse
  17. Note: There's a bit of fluff before the actual Water Cooler Pitch begins! Feel free to read or ignore it as you see fit. Just look for the page break (the big line) for when the fluff ends! ...If you are reading this, it made its way through the screen test for the paper, and is hiding among the classified. I'm sorry if you were expecting another illiterate 'missed connection' or vexing advertisement for feminine company... "Eryel?" The woman at the desk sat upright quickly, releasing the pen. It rolled off the desk and struck the ground. Ink spattered across the floor, a handful of dark droplets on a dusty floor. Eryel was already gone before it went into free fall. Her garments swished audibly as she stepped quickly through the hall into the back room, moving past the only chair back there and towards the only bed back there, as well, in the only room besides the store front. Sitting in the bed--not really a bed, but a mattress, tucked shamefully into the corner and draped with fabrics, blankets, rugs and whatever else they could muster--was her father. Her Pawpaw. Her family. He was sitting up again, and she immediately took offense, sinking to her knees by his side. Her hands reached for the rag in the shallow bowl of water on the side of the bed, wrang it out, and pressed it against his forehead. "Eryel, please. Please." He lifted his hands up in defense, but she dutifully washed his features, cooling his face and cheeks. He eventually caught the rag, and she let her hands drop into her lap. She blinked at last, realizing she'd been abstaining. "But Pawpaw, your fever--" She barely even got four words out before he spoke over her. "It will pass, Eryel. Please. Don't worry so much." He took a sharp breath in, then coughed harshly. Her resolve broke, and she reached forward, as if to comfort him. He recovered eventually, and pressed her with a question; a familiar one at that. "Our things?" She thought about her note, still unpenned at the table. She hadn't left the store yet, hadn't left her father's side. She couldn't; where would she go? Hyperion was a massive city, too large for her to navigate quickly and easily. She lacked the familiarity of her surroundings to know where to go, where to check. In the time it would take her to get the things back, hours would have passed. She often worried that a few hours would be all it would take for her father to grow worse. She gnawed her lip. She had to tell him the same answer to the same question, again. "Pawpaw, I'm sorry, but I can't find out--" Again, cut off. It was amazing she still chose to try and speak. "Eryel, listen to me." He leaned forward. It pained him. It pained her. "I will be fine, but without our belongings we have nothing working for us. For me to provide for you, for us." He took another breath, and didn't finish his thought. She clung to it, as if it might fade away. "You need to find out where it's been put," He told her. Again. "Just, please. Eryel. Be safe." He gave her mild pat, and the dutiful guardian got back to her feet. Her garments swished with less vigor on her way back to the storefront. Before she even made her way back behind the counter, however, familiar moving shapes in the shop itself caught her attention. She paused, dusted herself off, and put on a smile. None too big, but genuine enough. She stepped through the curtain hiding their small home from the storegoers, and extended her hands in greeting. "Hello there! Just browsing today?" Eryel Emmingwether lived alone with her father in their modest home in Ashville, a family of reasonably successful merchants. Before the Ashville Incident, her father was already sick, and being forced to move made things worse for the two. Doubly so, when the caravan moving their valuables was seperated from the caravan moving themselves. Now, a duo of frightened refugees in Hyperion, Eryel desperately hunts to recover her father's lost belongings, a loss that she takes as a personal failing. But you're here now, whoever you are, browsing the shop on your way past, and Eryel manages to remain a shrewd negotiator and impressive saleswoman. Perhaps you, brave hero, can take some time out of your day to help a young woman collect her family riches? This Interest Check is the beginning of a small series of quests aimed at introducing a new character I developed, the titular Eryel Emmingwether, as well as playing in an about Hyperion. This thread will likely involve exploring Hyperion and following potential leads within the city, looking for different means to breach security of various kinds, and some small combat. I expect this particular thread to have a posting frequency of one per 3-5 days, but this is up to debate! I expect the thread, ideally, to last maybe a few months, assuming we have dedicated posts! I am looking for anywhere between 2 and 4 writing partners for this one, although the more of us there are, the longer the thread may be! You're welcome to come in pairs, if you and a partner wish to write together. Lastly, as this thread is meant to not only bring activity to Hyperion, but also advance a character, this thread is to be considered canon, and your character can get some cool artifacts and loot, at the end, and if your characters also need to develop, that can be arranged too! This water cooler thread will stay up for approximately 2 weeks, after which the thread will begin, unless we get 4 or so before then, in which case we can begin sooner! If nobody wants to join in 2 weeks? Well, I can always write alone this time. ?
  18. Genre: action and horror Location: Genesaris Idea: Just recently made a character that I want to use with a small group of people (Vivi The Mad ).The plot for this adventure is pretty simple: A group of bards has recently started to become a dangerous cult. The group that calls themselves the "Death's Bards" have been attacking merchants on the road and kidnapping people to forcefully recruit. A bounty has been put out to kill their leader. This adventure starts in a tavern. Let me know if this sounds interesting
  19. Looking to sink my hands into these territories. I am happy to run interactions on the water with Nymerians or on land with a few different characters. If you’ve got any ideas feel free to catch me !
  20. CreativeCommons "I knew she was trouble from the moment she walked in. Some guys'll tell you they know these things from the colour of a woman's lipstick, or something about their legs. Me? I look at the fear in their eyes, the mud on their feet, and the rain that has them soaked from head to toe. That's how you know someone didn't have a lot of time to think when they decided they needed your help, running through the downpour like a fox from the hunt. Also easy to guess from there they don't have the money for it either, given they couldn't get a cab, or an umbrella. That's why I turned her away. Shouldn't have, but I did. Besides, I'm a private eye, not a bodyguard. Still, she shoved a box in my hands, and said if anyone came asking after her, to ask for her name, and if I didn't get the right answer, spin a yarn on where she'd be. Said my life depended on it as much as hers did, and damn it, I knew she was telling the truth on that one. So I hid it, and wouldn't you know it, she's dead on the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Berendo Street two days later. Didn't have to spin no yarn either, so that's off my conscience. But what is gnawing at me... is what happened to her, and why. So if you know about that, or if you don't but wanna help me figure it out... well, what's her name?" So, as part of recent goings on in Elendaron, I have been tasked with administrating a little story, set in another world, in another time. Our location of choice will be 1920s Los Angeles, just as the Depression has struck the hammer blow, and the city is awash in many new faces. We'll start with a little flashback, establishing how any would-be volunteers got there: in short, you were guests of Elder Boldar, a forest sprite in Vechynacht who espouses to have found a way that his people might live safely in their ancestral lands, despite the effective collapse of reality around them. There's just the small problem that will eventually come out of his daughter - the one actually responsible for figuring out this supposed solution - having disappeared into a rift and not coming back. And well, he's treated you just so well with his feast, the least you could do is a mount a rescue kthxbye. Unlike previous instances, characters who volunteer for this escapade will retain their memories. Indeed, everything about you will seem... unchanged, except for the fact you'll arrive in this strange new(?) world with little more than the clothes on your back. Any other material indication that you are from another world is going to be absent. As for your abilities, for those who may have them... well, you'll have to see, won't you? For the sake of keeping this rolling, I'd like to set a three day posting schedule - that is, post in three days or get skipped. Major actions should be attempted rather than automatically assumed. Picking up a bottle of premium prohibition liquor without asking is fine, thinking you get a free pass to whack it into a guy's face and watch them fall to the floor by the end of your own post is another matter. Unless it's Mugsy.
  21. "Hello there. My name is Amber. I can't believe Madon has me doing outreach but here we are. Anyways, as you can probably tell, the Legend of the Emblem has made a surprising comeback thanks to the efforts of @EpicRome23 and @NuclearCommando. So far we've made some progress in the valley, like stopping some bandits, meeting some strange allies, meeting some stoned wizards, and finding out Madon has some common sense after all! Shocker! That said, the amount of common sense he has is still low, so we could use some allies. And that's where you can come in. I'll have my friend here explain the details. Thank you Amber. Anyways, so far we're on our second thread of LOTE, which I have provided links below: Ignore the one star rating, I think Amber did that. "Hey don't pin what you did on me you jerk." We're at a crucial point in our thread, where we're seeking out a couple allies to join us on the journey to gather some dragon stones and legendary weapons, and also go through some wild antics and memes in the process. So if you got a character or two who could join in on the process, then we'd love to have you along. Given this is based off of Fire Emblem, we're memeing it and have a plot going on that hits on those points, and we're doing things like supports and such and what have you. Who all is in this so far? From Epic we have: Madon: The Exarch of Isore, and the "Lord" of our party. "And also a tad brainless." Wymp: The Exarch's retainer, and a countermage. "Also kind of a wimp if you ask me." Owend: A member of the Grey Knights and ally to the party. Stoned Wizards: "Need we say more?" From me we have: Amber: The resident mage/cleric. Also breaks FE logic. "Dang right I do." Mason: A spec-ops man from another world, with weaponry of another time. "Quite mysterious... and also kind of handsome." Eve: A girl with a literal split personality. And quite skilled with the bow. Now you know our cast, perhaps you'd like to join them? We do have two big priorities: You have to be active, as we're trying to keep posts coming as quick as we can, as in less than three days per post. And, you have to be in it for the long haul. We got a lot of things coming up in the future, now I understand if things come up that make you have to leave Val for a long period of time that we can't plan for. But aside from that, we want to keep a consistent party throughout this. Knowledge of Fire Emblem is not required, but recommended so you can understand the memes we mock. Discord is also optional for keeping tabs on each other. "So if you're interested please let us know. If you want to know some lore, ask @EpicRome23, make him do some work for a change instead of having me do it." Or you can ask me of course. But Epic generally does have a greater grasp of the lore than I do. I just come up with plot ideas he works the lore into.
  22. I know I'm late, but ..... Looking for a small group of antagonists to basically be the main opposing force for my character and his Coven. Their goal is to acquire as many followers as possible of course, this is a repeatable quest and as mentioned by Hummingbird there is no need to canonize any Whispernight quests. A few from Choisel would be setting out to explore these lands, try to negotiate or form some type of alliance with the existing league and if that does not work, acquire things all lastly by force we can come to figure in a small skirmish or something. For those in need of a basic summary of what the place is/looks like: Talix-Egine A city run by gears, including a central gear that operated the entire city on a wheel of science and architecture seen nowhere else in Valucre. Home to more math and logic than magic, Talix-Engine’s near impenetrable headquarters that operated the entire city was overrun by doppelgangers and evil spirits. The city was in the end toppled. This ruin is one of the most dangerous, overrun with undead creatures that seek nothing but to destroy all that is left. Everyone who was gone here has died at the hands of violent geists. Led by a league of vampires wielding ancient, powerful swords capable of nullifying and reflecting magic spells, be the one to defeat the horde and free the city from the curse of Whispernight. I'm looking to start things as soon as possible. What do you guys think? Even if you just want to tag along for added story without being the opposition, that’s fine too.
