  1. Mae Govanen Friends, Strangers, and Fellow Fortune Seekers, If you happen to be receiving this message you have happened across my Emergency beacon spell. I must be brief but I am Captain Richter Konig of the Justicar. In a recent battle we fought against a Nest of Sky Pirates left my Vessel severely damaged and unable to to make harbor for formal repairs. We are currently Grounded and in needs of supplies to perform emergency repairs. The Goddess has blessed us that most of our engineering team made it out alive. But most of our Personal flyers were destroyed save a handful. We have located a forest and cavern that should provide us the necessary raw materials to salvage my vessel. But alas my former command crew is all missing in action and I need to leave my Ground crew and Marines to keep the Auxiliary teams secure while we secure the resources. I need the aid of a few brave souls to assist me in acquiring these materials. If we all happen to make it out of here alive. I could use capable hands on my Ship. Goddess watch over you.     Yh'mi: Lirrey Lines OOC

    Many mysteries of Yh'mi have been explored, though answers have been rare. One of the more enigmatic elements of Yh'mi remains nearly untouched, travel unfairly discouraged by the Order of the White Hand for reasons they can't even properly elaborate upon. The Village of Lirrey. Entrepreneur and adherent to science, Doctor Xeyal wishes to fund an expedition to Lirrey to properly investigate the strange village and open up a possible trade route. I will be sending Doctor Xeyal's pet monster Sasha to accompany the group and @jaistlyn and potentially @Dolor Aeternum will be joining in and as well. I am looking for two other players interested in traveling deep into southern Yh'mi to investigate this strange town. A standard 72 hour post rate will apply.   3. Freedom in the Innocence of Avarice ouse Dali emerges ever farther from the sands of history, golden family roots finding light and thriving in the cracked dirt. Word of seamless Northtrail leadership and culturally privy Goldcourt tongues spread like wildfire. Attributes, members, and associates of the family’s branches were soon to be found in almost as many places as word of them could be. With growing recognition of the family, as with growing recognition of anything, came a swell of those who held house Dali in ill rapport. While reception of the family was largely well met, the world must always pockets of dissolution. The culturally privy could be mistaken for conniving, the air of leadership snide. What is this? Avarice Goldjest, considered a connoisseur of fashion in his circle of family and friends, had taken liberties with his father’s small fortune and gone travelling the Terran countryside with a couple friends. Well, he had come to village outside Dougton when he found himself accosted for his effeminate attire. Avarice stood up for himself boldly, flavoring his rebuttal with a couple spicy words he thought might add to his masculinity. Unfortunately for Avarice, the person he had exchanged verbal fisticuffs with was the village elder. His friends were not of enough fortitude to defend him when a group of luddite farmers in a recovering village called Tormo had locked him up for the slew of pompous insults; they were, however, man enough to return to House Dali and request help for their friend’s unfortunate blunder. In addition to a warning about the happenings upon Avarice, his friends tell of a large wolf prowling the area that attacks Tormo at night. Belos Titansinger, high priest and lawman of House Dali, answers the call to trial for Avarice’s freedom with two apprentice attorneys or journeymen he finds along the way. Together, the three will venture to Tormo and, do trial with the primitive folk village’s high counsel, and do what it takes to get their loudmouthed cousin back. Just how they will accomplish this feat may entail more danger and surprise than first meets the eye.     The Azatar Assembly

    The Grand Airship Lunova Rai, a spectacular airship built with such magnificance and elegance that some people consider itself a work of art, and is owned by the Global Shipping Initiative, has been hired with a major order from several charities. Their goal: deliver loads of presents to the orphans and poor across Terrenus. Having made their pickup in the city of Hell's Gate, they began their journey when.... Well, this is what happened. "Mayday! Mayday! We have been hit....error.....ple.....end hel....." And so the Grand Airship, which has been hired to carry countless presents, has crashed in the wilds of Terrenus. The presents meant for all those poor civilians, all those children, are at risk, and another shipment will not be ready in time for The Azatar, or as Otherworlers might see it, Valucre's Christmas. In other words, it is a race against the clock. The fate of The Azatar for countless children is in danger. A critical alert has been issued, adventurers have been asked to go on site, collect all the gifts, and bring them to Blairville, the nearest megacity close to the crash site that has the distribution ability needed to properly get all the gifts to where they need to go. There will be countless monsters, harsh terrain and weather, and a constant pressure of time. Right now, we need more then adventurers. We need Heroes. Help us save the spirit of Azatar. [For the impatient, skip to the next words in bold to get the gist of this quest opportunity] I would like to ask you a question (and you don't have to be joining this thread to answer): How easy do you think it is to fight a pack of wolves? Ponder it for a moment, and really think about your response. If would be easy right? People have done it in real life all the time. Now consider the following situation: You are an adventurer — trapped several stories underground beneath a frozen city in the dead of winter, remnants of buildings ravaged by some past calamity. You, along with six others, are in the heart of enemy grounds. How many are there? Five? Ten? Fifteen? Twenty? You would wish that were the case, but in actuality, there are over a thousand, ravenous wolves lurking in the shadows, remnants of the disaster which befell the city which have made these ruins there home. Over the past year, they've gestated, growing in number, strength, and in intelligence. They aren't a pack of bloodthirsty animals anymore: they are a system of highly capable beasts whose sole purpose is to kill you, or worse. Trying to wipe them all out at once with wide-range magic didn't work — it just brought more of them to you. Splitting up didn't work either — those times you split, you never saw the others again. These white wolves are cunning beasts, and they don't attack blindly. They'll separate you like sheep from a herd, strike when you are at your most vulnerable. It's easy for them — you are in their home after all. These warpacks are led by towering, unnatural, monstrous wolves, so white in color, they fade into the snow itself, and if you were to defeat one, your name would most likely be recorded in the annals of Imperial South for your accomplishment — that is, if you get back. Rumors have it that there is more to these 'simplistic' beasts other than to maim or kill. Clearly, there are other forces behind the growing number of these beasts. Even as intelligent as they are, they are too organized. Too cunning. Too daring. Sightings have shown packs wandering farther and farther from their den, doing things that they've never done before like snatching men and women from their homes. But adventurers don't care. As a mounting threat in this ruined city grows, will you just stand by and watch? * * * So, suppose after that, you think this is all still trivial. Would you like to test your theory? This quest is a continuation of another quest I started in the summer which was taking on the Whispernight Quest in Cobran, Genesaris, but you don't need any prior knowledge to hop in. Just know we are diving into a beast-infested town, with a small party, in the dead of winter, where everything is trying to kill you. The goal? Find the source of the abnormal growth in wolf attacks and abductions. As custom, I shall be leading this adventure with carefully crafted NPCs and enemies, as well as a few characters of my own. Combat will not be easy — bring a character you aren't attached to, I assure you that killing these wolves will be less than easy. During the last quest, people scoffed at the wolves, yet one lost and arm, and the other almost lost her life. For reference, here is a list of things I usually go by when running these quests which you may find useful when deciding if this quest is right for you (my guide). Vielle here 😄 Boy, this interest check has been a long time in the making— Míra Andronov, headmistress of Toxicant, is an enterprising businesswoman who has it in mind to establish various entrepreneurial endeavors around Terrenus and acquire both wealth and power in equal measure. Through these businesses, she seeks to extend her influence across the face of the continent, and soon to even beyond its shores. At the same time, Míra is also a cultured woman and highly enjoys art and similar intellectual, creative pursuits. Thus, her repertoire of enterprises includes various opera houses, one of which she is soon planning to construct and open in Coth. tl;dr We're establishing some opera houses around Terrenus, and I'm looking for some people to answer the call!   7. A little over a year ago, a talented physician and medical scientist by the name of Dr. Kersh Engel was arrested in Port Caelum. It was discovered he was working with a mysterious cult that was kidnapping and torturing psions and magic-users, while he himself was also conducting illegal experimentation in an abandoned wing Port Caelum's general hospital. Engel has languished in prison since then, but his talents have not been forgotten. Agents working for the Norkotian Union, where Engel originally hails and from which he was exiled many years before, are now seeking an elite strike team to bust him out of the slammer. The operation is officially unsanctioned by the Norkotian government, which has prompted the agents to seek mercenaries and contractors who have no direct affiliation with the state. This hasn't stopped them from reaching out to some old friends, however... So, as if it wasn't already obvious, this mission is to break into the Port Caelum prison and extract the brilliant, but sadistic Doctor Kersh Engel. The agents giving out the mission won't identify the Norkotian government as their employers, so unless your character already knows the connection, they won't know any better. That said, I'm hoping to bring back some mercenaries who have worked for Norkotia in the past, and they might know better. But they should also know better than to let on what they know to the wrong people. 😉 Anyway, the thing I want for sure to happen is for Engel to be extracted and returned to Norkotia, most everything else in-between is wide-open. Anyway, I will likely be GMing this plot, possibly with advisement from @Red the Ambivalent. Also, @Djinn&Juice has expressed interest in being involved as well, possibly controlling another prisoner that will be encountered during the mission. Also, I'll be contributing my own member to the strike team, in the form of my bounty hunter Mara Mercer, who is indebted to Engel for saving her life. I'm accepting a max of three more members to this team, though honestly I can work it with only one or two. I'm reserving slots for a couple people I've worked with in the past who I believe I can trust to see the thread through to completion, so I'm just gonna go and tag them now: @scrivener @Abigail666 Top two slots are reserved for you two if you are interested. Beyond that, I'll accept new entries, but there's one a little caveat. See, I've had people abandon me mid-thread before, which leaves named characters kind of just hanging in the balance there, and forces me to have to control them myself. It also kind of disrupts the team dynamic and slows down the thread. THUS! I am putting a little rule into this thread. If you join, and you fail to post or notify me of absence for longer than two weeks, I will assume you have left the site, and subsequently your character will be killed in the narrative. A bit harsh? Perhaps. But I'm not interested in people who are going to just up and vanish without warning. I also think it adds to the narrative flavor if someone dies during the mission, so I consider that an added bonus if you fail me (evil laugh). Anyway, basically just know that if you are putting your character on the line if you enter them into this thread. Now, I'm a reasonable guy, so as I stated, if you communicate with me that you need to be absent for a time, then I will accept that and we can wait for you. It's if you fail to post and fail to respond to tags and attempts to remind/contact you, then I will assume you are gone from the site. This rule applies only to the strike team players.     The people have been given their freedom, now they must be given purpose to direct their newfound freedom. I for one cannot think of a better use than to help one's fellow man, for freedom from tyranny does not mean freedom from moral obligation. -Illyana Uldwar Setting: The island of Misral, Port Mars, daytime Genre: Political/Religious intrigue Objective: Celebrate Gaia and to spark a revival movement towards her worship in Ursa Madeum. Danger level: Low- As Illyana Uldwar is of noble birth and eldest daughter of the Lord and Lady Uldwar, she has been afforded a great deal of protection in her cause. Several knights, including a Dog of War, have been assigned as her protectors. Violence is possible however, but please make sure to discuss this with ne first before proceeding. Reward: Satisfaction of spreading the Holy Worship of Gaia to those that have lost their faith during the dark times. (More tangible rewards are possible but must be discussed before playing them out in the main thread.) Desired Story Arc: During one of her times devoted to prayer, Illyana Uldwar is given the inspiration and courage she needs to finally make an attempt on spreading the word of Gaia throughout Ursa Madeum. Her journey starts out in Port Mars, where the people feel uncertain and alone on their spiritual journey through life. Through her efforts, she hopes to awaken a fire within their souls, so that they may no longer feel alone in this frightening world. What Roles Am I Looking For?: One to three people to serve as companions or guards during this, its really up to you how you wish to be involved in this story as I left it open ended. Expectations: Good communication, an open mind for ideas and a willingness to keep disagreements civil. Aiming for at least two pages. Created Opportunities: Success of this mission means effecting the religious beliefs of the people of Ursa Madeum. This may also anger or threaten those that wish for the islands to remain secular or following a different religion as well.

    A Night of Mystery and Mayhem

    Up in the mountains of Terrarus, rests the large and magnificent mansion of upper nobility and wealth, owned by a man with deep pockets and many connections. Someone who many people wanted to know, or cherrished knowing, he was a man with great charisma and strength as well as smarts. There were some who envied him, especially those who were often around him, and he provided much work for adventurers, mercenaries, and so on. His businesses were thriving, and the expeditions he funded were also rather fruitful. Truly a man who was blessed with luck. As such, various adventurers and such, as well as those of influence, would gladly go to his party, and some would even bring their families on occasion. The mansion was a large place that tempted people to explore its depths, built rather intricately and almost like a maze, there were a few who insisted the insides were constantly changed on each visit. With tricks, traps, and secret passages, there was always entertainment to be had. It was practically designed to entertain the curious, although the thieves who attempted to break in sometimes probably didn't find it as funny. However, little did anyone know tonight...about what would occur at this party, and the danger they would face. About just how their lives would be forfit, unless they could solve the mystery of this dangerous mansion. LOOKING FOR people who will be able to post frequently enough and are interested in a mix of mystery and action. There will also be some NPCs around, but its up to the players really. The plan is for all the characters to be trapped in the mansion until they solve the mystery, while trying to survive the attacks of the entities full of malice. As for the resolution, well since it would be nice if my character didn't die from my first try, how about everyone solving the mystery and escaping? The character I plan to use is the first and currently only character I put on this site, Momo Moryan. He came with his "mom", but before they all get trapped, she is going to step outside for a moment and end up locked outside while everyone else is locked inside. Also, neither her nor anyone else will find themselves able to communicate and call for help. It will be a fight for survival against threats while solving the mystery of what is going on so they can escape. BTW, for those who are wondering, leaving aside my map skills, due to the fact that the mansion keeps changing its interior, there is no map of the mansion. It would only end up confusing you more.   10. I have a mercenary/monster hunter/adventurer named Howl who has recently been cursed. Hoping to find a cure, Howl has traveled from Alterion to Terrenus by way of Renovatio in search of a cure. I’m looking for 2-3 individuals who would be interested in taking part in a multi faceted plot which will see us take on a quest in every major continent. 1) Terrenus - Quest TBD - Goal: return Howl to a Human (more or less) form. 2) Genesaris - Quest TBD - Goal: learn the origins of the cursed amulet and how it came to be in Alterion. 3) Alterion - Quest TBD - Goal: Locate Howl’s original client... 4) Renovatio - Quest TBD - Goal: Revenge, Profit????, Answers. Other than the backstory of the Amulet, I have none of this plotted out. Each adventure we take in each region will have its own impact on the story as well as it’s own reward. I’m looking for anyone who is willing to help me push this story forward and vibe some old school random writing.
  11. Hello Val been a while. I figured imma fire up again and try and gain ground for a country of my own carve out my little space. However I also want to socialize with you and make new friends. So I’m launching a role Expansion. Ive mostly tried to keep my nation small and self contained and isolated and tried to recruit people however as this is fruitless as I’m a relative in known to all the constant and new faces of Valcure I figure I should introduce small bits of the culture and work with larger nations, and existing members to work with lore and world building! now I’m putting this here as the first role expansion to see how it goes. if it’s a successes I plan to shoot Val into the stars and aim for excellence. So here we go the intro for this first one, this is aimed at my nerds and those interested in technology! however this will also open up operutinities for you larger nations ! It’s a humanitarian project! The Trrminals/Gates/Doorways/teleporters/ matter cannons/ Accelararors as the rest of Val will undoubtedly call them, among other names, are to functions as Long range quick transit machines, able to move Materials, people , machines and vechiles at relatively close to Light speed, anywhere on the planet, and possiblely to others. However that’s only the dream. Rhis role play is a foot note of possibility. The He rp is set on day one of the project, material aquirwment, design, production. This is stage one, the ground work. Stage two is to take over two uninhabited islands’s in Valucre’s vast oceans. For testing of the Zentheria as the Nersh have designated them. Stage three involves picking people role assignment and outsourcing work to people of your choosing! Mercs or trustworthy adventurers. stage 4 involves testing, however spending on the speed and size this may be the start of an intrigue plot involving sabatoage. now this rp sounds huge and sprawling however I doubt the ability to fish this many people and also keep a high amount of people( because large groups often end up losing a lot of members) so this will probably be smaller and if a majority want to skip step or work on a specific part then that’s the part we move to. now then this thread does have to to with lab coat wearing hard workers, but again materials are needed, and so are test subjects, so if you want to get a nice reward ( either an upgrade or raw materials as the Neesh do not beilve in a moneyrsry system and do not support it at all) it even experience in the dangerous locations of Val! also the potential for larger nations to be better connected ! Trading, invasions, the ability to quash rebellions, exploration, aid , or evacuation make this a versatile tool with a multi purpose function. maybi also point out, that while again this is simply an rp to work on the idea I’m more than willing to expand the world concept! Seeing as to how valucre’s lands are so wild and different and diverse means different gates built in different area’s will have different design challenges! One may have to be powered by magic in one area while being able to withstand High radiation in another area! Sorry adventures mercs and other explorerers! Kuratel This leader in innovation left behind an airship filled with magically-enhanced rifles among a ruin of stone, steel, and dead bodies. Two dragons guard the city against intruders hoping to do good, one a Red Dragon and the other a Black Dragon. Both are lich lords and highly intelligent despite rotted brains, though they are more animalistic in nature and can barely talk. The airship was known as Heaven’s Mercy and is still operational. Warriors from afar have discussed grabbing the ship and fighting the dragons in the sky, suing the ships; powerful firearms to kill them both, then flying away with the ship’s army-full of rifles and guns in hand. The problem is fighting their way through the horde of geists that surround the airship base itself. There are other airships – Warrior’s Soul, Paradise High, Hellion Sky, and more – yours to keep if you can down the guardian dragons and their army of undead. - By @The Hummingbird What: A woman named 'She' has pasted flyers anywhere and everyone for people to see. She is looking for some hardy adventurers to go with her to the Whispernight Ruins in Genesaris, and get the airships - Heaven's Mercy (+ the magically enhanced rifles inside it), Warrior's Soul, Paradise High, and Hellion Sky. If you join her she expects all the ships and the extra goodies to be delivered safely to Aelindra or else no one gets paid and she will make sure you get punished (IC you won't be killed or anything, but you will be hunted down). Goodies: Your characters will be rewarded for their services retrieving the ships and their goods, and delivering them back to Aelindra. This opportunity is for characters looking for wealth and constant flow of work. After the success of this quest, your character will have an income that could sustain a reasonable living for the next 3 years. You will be on a list of people who will have first dibs on a job, which you can deny or not, you're not strapped to take every quest. I will be your DM for this quest, so your characters will have countless opportunities to get other goodies, like weapons, enchantments, etcetc in the quest. Hello everyone!   15. Hello all. I've started a thread in Aelindra, the sole purpose of which is to steal a prototype for my character. My plans for the thread are pretty low key, and open to everyone. I imagine there will be some infiltration, some fighting, and a speedy exit from the town (see: fleeing from the authorities). For a more in depth breakdown of what I plan on doing please scroll to the bottom, otherwise, here are some keywords to give you an idea of what this thread will be like. Cooperative storytelling Mid level fantasy, with Magitech. Mild Powers (important!) Casual Thieving/Heists Low Impact - no/minimal killing, emphasis on low property destruction. Strategic - Not just a fight, I hope. If you are interested, check it out, here is a link. Otherwise keep reading below if I haven't captivated your interest yet. This thread is open to all, but will be low/no turn order. I wanted to try a new format, I will be the 'anchor' so to speak. I'll be posting a minimum of once every three (3) days, sometimes more often (but no more than once a day). Everyone and anyone else who would like to participate is encouraged to post in between these times, pushing the story or interacting with characters however they want. I think this might either provide an interesting freedom of choice and action, and I can bring everything back together to drive the story when necessary. My only request is that you don't post multiple times between my own posts, to prevent the thread from derailing, or stepping on other people who want to participate. No runaway trains here. From what I have read on Aelindra I imagine it to be a rather modern city, bustling with an enormous amount of people, and driving innovation. My character, Tad, has come to Aelindra in search of a piece of prototype technology. He is resolved to stay in the town until he has taken it by any means necessary. He plans to first steal the security plans for the building that he wants to burgle, followed by burgling the building itself, and finally escaping with the prototype. Since this will be illegal activity, our characters will be actively hunted by the town guard, and unable to use any of the more regulated means of public transportation, such as crossroads, airships, etc. So long as nobody kills anyone, the risk should be pretty minimal, no risk of character death. Mild powers are required for this thread, preferably the lower end of mild powers to keep things interesting. Magitech is more than welcome. Since I will be posting on a regular basis, and anyone can join at any part of the adventure, anyone who shows up will be part of my characters premeditated plan. This is just to help gloss over any awkward timings and introductions, that way we can keep the story flowing. Nothing like joining in the middle of fleeing the town guard to make things awkward/difficult to write. If you need or want to leave, feel free to write yourself out, anybody who doesn't return will be assumed to have contributed their part to the plan and have returned to whatever they were doing before. Again, this is just to keep things flowing. I'm not a fan of when threads start to stagnate as you wait on one person who might have another obligation or doesn't have time to post for a while.     Assassination plot, yay!

    Location: Aelindra City What's the plot?: My Council Member was poisoned! An assassination attempt to remove her from her seat on the Council of Seven. What do you need?: A variety. Any characters are welcome to join this little story of mine. What do I need to do?: Find the would-be assassin and either 1. Kill them or 2. Champion their cause. If option 1: It removes the threat entirely and you acquire the antidote for Elilah. Everyone celebrates! If option 2: You help the assassin escape and make up a story on you unsuccessful capture. No remedy is given to Elilah, and she is forced to endure, finding another cure. What's the premise here?: This will essentially allow my character to continue her radical views, using the assassination attempt to bolster her cause. No matter what choice your characters make, it will profoundly affect her position on the Council of Seven. Posting: 1 every 3/4 days. I'm available again for a while now, thanks to rearranging my schedule around. Pretty simple premise here! Your characters will be playing detective, maybe have to do a little killing along the way, but no matter what they will be paid well while also having a part in a canon thread. This is just a page in a bigger plot that will eventually have the original Council Members (Elilah excluded in this) removed and replace, starting reform in Aelindra.
  17. Setting: Pirate's Cove, Misral, second largest island in Ursa Madeum. Dead of night, calm weather with a full moon showing. Genre: Medieval fantasy/intrigue Objective: To convince the pirate lord to swear fealty to House Uldwar to serve as a makeshift navy/privateer operation. Danger level (Average): As this is a diplomatic mission, violence is not to be expected, but it is possible. Aggression towards the pirate lord or his lackeys will result in them returning the attack in kind if not worse. The use of characters with calm heads is not mandatory but is advised. Character death will not happen unless owner of character wishes for it to happen. Reward: Substantial amount of gold, recognition within the court of House Uldwar and possibly your own pirate ship. Desired Story Arc (Subject to change by participant request): A secret meeting is being held with the Pirate Lord of the Pirate's Cove in Misral and Lord Uldwar, Patriarch of House Uldwar and majority landowner in Misral. In this secret meeting, Lord Uldwar intends to recruit the Pirate Lord and many of his associates to act as Privateers in behalf of House Uldwar, to both protect their trade routes and harass the ships of their competitors so they may build up their own businesses. Through this House Uldwar would begin to start outfitting and improving on Pirate's Cove, making it it's own bustling city in a sense as the raiding would bring in more gold to the area. One twist that will come of this story is that the second oldest daughter of Lord Uldwar, Mia Uldwar, will be on the ship disguised as a boy. Whether or not you notice her will be up to you, giving you the choice of either turning her in to her father or letting her be and interacting with her a little. Should the pirates discover her it has the possibility of jeopardizing the entire negotiation, that detail is dependent on the people involved. Overall this isn't going to be a very action heavy thread (unless you the participants want to make it such). It really does depend on what the interested parties want. Should a tie come up on this decision I will weigh on and break said tie. What Roles Am I Looking For?: Minimum is one player to play as the Pirate Lord but I can play that role if no one wants to. Other than that you can play as either a mercenary in the employ of either Lord Uldwar or the Pirate Lord to make sure the other doesn't try anything funny. If you wish to participate in a different capacity then that is fine, just let me know and we can work it out on this thread. Please post a character sheet if your character has one (otherwise a short description of who they are and what they do) if you are interested in this kind of story. Expectations: Expectations are good communication, good behavior and an open mind towards other people's ideas. Posting window is once per three days, but I will allow at least a week so long as you let us know in the OOC thread that you need more time. As this will be a canon thread we will be going by the mild power settings and for the standard amount of words per post. Created Opportunities: Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!: A valuable shipment of rum has gone missing! Discover it's whereabouts to receive a nice reward from the proprietor of the local taverns within the Pirate's Cove. Quest Type: Repeatable Reward: Some gold and a free night's stay at the tavern. Post Requirement: Ten or more Something stirs beneath the waves...: A sea monster has been spotted making trouble in the seas! Kill it, and bring it's briny hide in for a reward. Be it kraken, hydra, or royally pissed off snapping turtle, they'll be the perfect addition to your maritime legend! Post Requirement: 20 or more Quest Type: Repeatable Reward: If turned in to House Uldwar, a grand party held in your honor with a magical item made from the beast you have slain. If turned in to the Pirate's Cove, a raucous party will be held in your honor, with rum and women aplenty. A magical item will also be made from the beast you have slain. X marks the Spot!: There be buried treasure in a deserted island somewhere in those seas. Find it, claim it as your own, and reap the rewards of your labors! Quest Type: Repeatable Quest Reward: Large sum of gold coins and jewels, plus one item made from the Terran material list. Post Requirement: 20 or more
  18. Alright I’m looking for any good rps but I do want some good one on ones to fill in the space between big rp posts. It’s a lonely world. I have some ideas of my own not listed knowing it’ll push people away but also trying to lore people who want to build up a relation ship. I’m down to do most anything with some exceptions. But I wanna know someone before I make a broad pitch so I can angle for something they like. I’m long for a long term partner. i can manage a paragraph or be literate but I usually try to match my partner’s post length. Be warned we’ll probably end up being friends
  19. Tl; dr : An independent space colony that’s been radio silent for 15 years contacts all open channels in Alterion with a distress signal. All political parties are vying for control and information. This is an older thread that never really got off the ground. I’m looking for a small group 2-3 people to join my mercenary in his expedition. The Rebels want to raid the colony for bio weapons, anything useful really, then blow it up and the Masons claim to want the same but (secretly) want to raid it for weapons then drop the colony on Izral because fuck that area in particular, amirite? Plot Synopsis The year is After Riva 1018 (AO 28). It has been fifty years since a collective of Alterion's brightest minds headed into the vastness of space, intending to start a new colony, absent the involvement of any Company, only to never be heard from again. That was, until a transmission came through all open Alterion Channels with a terse horrifying announcement. The voice is small, yet heavy, weighed more by sadness than fear. A child's voice, or what was once a child, at least. "We can't stop it. We've tried everything. They're all dead, we will be soon. The colony...the colony is..." The Masons, Alterion's leading political party, have remained silent, but the Rebellion is certain they will take action, if only to investigate the possibility of a bilogical weapon. The Rebellion cannot allow the Masons to best them, in this. Rounding up nearly all of its funding, the Rebellion has put forth its best, brightest and most expensive operatives in order to investigate the troubled colony. The stage is set for the the Rebellion's resurgence and the Mason's downfall. Any takers? The ship has officially left the station, so further posting would operate under the assumption that you’re on the ship headed for badass raiding times.
  20. The dangerous marsh found on Genesaris. You know of it. A recent call to arms asks adventurers to dig deep into the marsh and uncover the unknown, and hopefully clear a better trade route THROUGH the marsh rather than around, for previous safety concerns of citizens. Only the valiant and clever can find and overcome what lies within! This isn't a canon thing, but it's an idea I wanted to play with along a group of people. I'll be creating the thread shortly and then inserting a link here. Heck, you'll discover some fancy gems I'm sure for a nice price on the markets ;)

    Seven Swords Stolen!!!

    So @The Shy Fennec gave me a fun idea that he's gonna participate in, as well as myself while storytelling. Taking from an idea from Naruto and the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, I'm bringing a twist to Valucre. A powerful woman has stolen seven mighty blades, each tied to a deep and powerful secret, and has hidden away in her own personal fortress. Located in one of the most dangerous areas in all of Valucre, these trap-laden halls must be traversed and overcome before this enchantress can bind the swords to her will and gain god-like powers. Who wants to join the call and maybe get a one-of-a-kind non-canon item in the process? lol
  22. I have this little area in Blairville called THE TOWER. It's a 100 story tower whose floors have been segmented into zones made up of multiple floors. The zones represent a space far greater inside than outside, some of them covering many, many miles of space, and the zones pivot around a central theme I haven't come up with stuff for every zone but the members who had claimed two of the previous zones are no longer active on the site so I wanted to make them available for the general public. These are the FOREST and LIBRARY zones. You can read more about the zones, and their descriptions, in the zone information and claim history thread here: https://www.valucre.com/topic/26044-the-tower-zone-info-and-claim-history/ Historically speaking this requires zero or light GMing, with some criteria spelled out before hand which the players must meet in order to first interact with the local Guardian, and then defeat it. Unless otherwise agreed upon it'll work as follows: 5 posts, per player, exploring the zone until you can come across the <necessary component> to summon or interact with the guardian TDS Basic to defeat the guardian. The player that does the most damage to the guardian when it is defeated claims stewardship of the zone. Players are mid tier and the guardian is Nova tier; presumably more than one player will be vying for the zone I think that about covers it but this is mostly going off of memory so if there are any questions let me know.   23. A lot of the RPs on offer here are quest-type RPs, where a group of magical mercenaries band together to defeat some evil/claim some treasure/explore some land on the whims of some third party. I find they don't tend to foster close inter-character relationships very well. I hardly seem to get to talk to anyone! Just post how cool my character is and then read about everyone else's cool characters. So I would like to play a RP on a smaller scale, where characters have more investment in each other. The setting will be a small town somewhere in Valucre, barely bigger than a village, and the characters will be the town's locals. We won't be playing as magic-wielding super-assassins but rather regular townspeople (regular for valucre, anyway), with skills more attributed to village life. For instance: Torie is a young, shapeshifting druid who seems perpetually stuck in the form of a tiger. She arrived at the town two years ago and took over the running of the mill and bakery, after the owner became ill. She is valued by the village due to her muscle and baking but her lack of wandering (and taste for baked goods) has seen her become extremely fat. Out of the watermill by the water she also runs a bakery called Torie's Treats. When she's not running the bakery or the mill she helps look after Geena, the old mill operator's widow, and allows herself to be harnessed to ploughs and the occasional cart to help transport things around the town. She will also lend her exceptional strength to building tasks, such as moving heavy beams or stones into position. She has a crush on the blacksmith, Hank, but he remains in human form, making things particularly awkward, though when she's free she'll hang around there to chat and watch him work with his shirt off. Obviously some skills (like strength) are transferrable to adventuring. Some character flaws would be good too. Torie's flaws are gluttony and laziness. I would like the village to be facing some sort of challenge, or mystery. Fairly high stakes for the people in the village. Missing villagers, perhaps? A disease that is turning the villagers into vegetables (mentally, not literally)? Maybe a disease that's affecting the crops. I'm open to suggestions in this regard. Something that will involve travelling into the wilderness outside the village and confronting the problem, growing closer to each other along the way. Looking for a minimum of two other people, maximum of three, to keep things running smoothly and prevent stagnation, but everyone is free to use the village for original stories, as it's developed. Let me know if you're interested! Edit: Further idea development (suggestions welcome!) Gotsed hasn't changed for hundreds of years, as far as any of the locals can tell. Nestled in the foothills of the ... mountains, it is a quaint place that has remained safe despite the goings on in the wider world. It's resources are abundant, from sheep to vegetables to salmon, stone and timber. The people are poor but work hard, and are content leading simple lives, complicated only by the town gossip. But lately some of the villagers gave been having dreams. Nothing odd about that except they've been having the same one. A figure on a hill, calling them from far away. Now those who are having the dream have begun to disappear, with signs they've wandered up the mountain path with nothing but the clothes on their back. Search parties have gone looking for them but have returned in vain. Some of the searchers have even gone missing themselves. It might be your friend or your relative or your neighbour, but you also have lost someone to this strange wanderlust. You'll soon be making the journey into the mountains, to search for those who are missing. About Gotsed A town of roughly 200 souls. It was founded on rocky but fertile soil, good for grazing, with nearby forests and a salmon-rich river. There are caves a three day's walk up the river, as well as scattered mineral deposits that are sufficient for the town's blacksmithing needs. Other villager roles Farmers: vegetables, fruits and nuts tend to grow best on the slopes around Gotsed. Wheat is imported from the next town, which was founded on flatter ground. Fishers: Gotsed borders a tributory to a substantial mountain river. Though just a series of large pools interlinked with waterfalls, there are plenty of fish, turtles and a few swimming mammals for those willing to get their feet wet. Salmon tend to come for the winter, too. Goat/sheep herders: tend their flocks on Godsed's green slopes. They were the first to arrive in Gotsed, and the town was named to them. Blacksmiths: usually making farming tools such as shovels, hoes, pitchforks or ploughs. Also hunting knives and arrow heads. The blacksmiths may also double up as miners, given the local iron ore deposit. Tailor: makes clothes. Tends to be woollen products given the local sheep flocks. Inn: Gotsed has no inn as it exists on a dead-end road. Travellers usually find accommodation as guests of the townsfolk. Butcher: prepares local meat. Baker: turns flour into bread, sugar and fruits into cakes, etc. Coker: makes come suitable for smithing from wood burned in special clay mounds designed to limit oxygen. Teacher: teaches the small children numbers and writing. Forester: cuts down trees and runs the local sawmill. Chirurgeon: a doctor/surgeon of moderate skill. Doubles up as a barber. Elder: those oldies of sound mind are generally considered in charge.
  24. On Biazo Isle, there’s a species of territorial crab called the Bramok. Think big motherfuckers the size of Shaquille O’Neal. Or Big Shaq if that’s more your style. They’re unique to the island’s south-eastern coast, where it’s part ashy jungle (kind of like a lush version of Morrowind), part-lava field. They’ve made their nest in a small canyon located near the base of the Baiyale volcano. Recently, the Bramok have become way too aggressive in their expansion because I need a valid reason to kill them. On top of the crabs, there’s also this loony bin tribe of modern degenerates that worship the Bramok as gods. They hunt for the crabs, protect them from harm, kidnap villagers and sacrifice them for drugs. It’s all very symbiotic. Details on that later, if you’re interested. Basically, the military’s been called in to destroy the Bramok nest and wipe out the tribe. At the same time, this’ll hopefully make the land safe enough for the establishment of a faux-ton post, and maybe a research outpost in the future. My character, Echo, will be a part of this mission. Anyone can join but priority goes to military characters. Also, it isn't first come first served. tl;dr: venture into an exotic wasteland, kill drugged-up tribals, fight multiple Big Shaqs, burn down the nest. Maybe you’ll get paid while you’re at it. This will likely be a bit of a slower, more flexible thread (3-5 days to post?) due to life, other threads, and the fact that, occasionally, I kinda need to sleep. That said, it'll be somewhat of a long-term commitment, though hopefully not too long. I’m looking for about 5 people. Got any questions or comments, lemme know either here or via PM.     Sword and guide for hire

    Jon Kowal is a master of the land. Adept in survival skills, well-travelled and an ex-soldier in a mercenary army, he's just the kind of person you'd want to hire if you were travelling the less civilised roads of Valucre. His secret weapon (which usually doesn't stay secret for long) is the three animal companions which share his soul - he uses them like you use your right arm or left foot. With an owl overhead and a tiger patrolling the road ahead, and a giant ice bear pulling up the rear, it's unlikely you'll ever be surprised if you choose Jon for your sword arm. Looking for at least two people who would like to hire an armed escort and guide in their travels across Valucre. Strictly on-foot or horseback travel only - Jon doesn't cater to people on airships or using any means of teleportation/portal travel. You'll preferably be the kind of person who would likely hire an escort, whether it be a treasure hunter/dungeon crawler, an assassin in foreign lands, a rich (or poor) lord or lady, or someone who expects attack at any moment. Even a farmer with livestock or produce to move. Disclaimer: Jon is already involved in another RP so this won't be canon by any means. I just want to use him a bit more than the pace the other RP allows:).
