I'm...fine. Thankyou.

The Pontus began to delve into more conversation, but before he could, an eery surge of power captured his arms, and coarsed through his body. It passed as swiftly as it had come, and left the prodigy to consider what had happened, all the while eyeing Cassius with a look of bewilderment.

...Odd.

He turned back to Dargo, then to Cassius, and finally to his newfound weapon. The Sun Blade was placed on his back, secured by a strap of leather he stripped from the fallen knight. Afterwards, he turned back to his comrade.

Perhaps we should seek Celestine?

Cocking his head to the side and quirking his left eyebrow as the other made a slightly strange gesture; as if confused, Cassius decided to dismiss it.

With nothing but a nod in response to his companion's question, Cassius began to stand. Just as he had begun to rise, a glimpse of reflected light caught the Serpentine's eye. There was something on the guards finger; a ring or band of sorts. Bending over to grab the immobile man's wrist, he rose the hand and grabbed the ring with his free hand. Pulling backward, the ring, after some small struggling, was removed.

The band he had removed from the antagonist's hand was placed on his ring finger. The Serpentine examined the ring in the light reflecting from the gaping hole in the wall his body had made. With absence of mind, he began walking over the rubble, stepping carefully over the deceased body of the client; Crennilius, Cassius continued to exit through the gap.

Are you sure we'll be able to find him?

It had taken some time; a handful of moments after the ring had switched owners, now bound to Cassius? digit, he?d feel it. It was an arresting sort of thing, as if an intangible hand with a surreal touch had managed to grasp the whole of his heart and squeezed with titanic might, forcing its beat to diminish.

As if the blood that ran the ambit of his form had turned to ice and even slowed in its movements; as if the light of the world was ever dimming and Cassius would soon find himself lost in an eternal chasm.

And then it was gone.

Unlike the passage of power prior, this newfound puissance that tingled with an electric faculty throughout every inch of Cassius? form was everlasting; he?d become more so aware of his muscle, of his strength, and realized that it had been amplified.

Soon thereafter, a voice as gentle as the breeze from a butterfly?s wings could be heard echoing as a whisper just away from the ears of both men.

?Thank you both, so much. Finally, my spirit can find rest.?

Vigor was thus instilled into both; the weariness garnered from the day?s tribulations vanished with not arcane base in sight or mind.

Ring of Bull?s Strength

--Though there is no visible augmentation of the body, whoever wears this ring will testify that their strength has been greatly increased; whosoever dawns this metallic band has might enough to match a bull, as its name might imply, plus his own strength.

--Pontus has immediate knowledge of the power of the blade, as if the information had simply appeared in his memory.

"I don't know...but I'm sure he'd do the same for us."

The Pontus turned from Dargo's corpse, and began a swift journey to the entrance east of him. Just before breaking the threshold which seperated the dim hallows and the sparkling sunshine, he stopped; he glanced behind him, to the Serpentine.

"Coming?"

Whether he followed or not, the Prodigy continued. Were any souls to run by him, he'd ask them of the nearest town...and as he broke into open space, he summoned a bellowing shout:

"CELESTINE!?"

What power flooded into Cassius? He had never felt such power before. The extraordinary energy that seemed to pour into and refresh the Serpentine seemed surreal. He opened his mouth to speak out his delight, but heard another.

The Lady spoke, her words as soft as silk's gentle caress to his ear.

You're right, I bet he is right now.

Following his companion into the open space, the Serpentine stepped over the immobile body of Dargo. Looking down on him with what could be perceived as disrespect, Cassius entered the sunlit road. The two together would search for Celestine and hopefully be reunited with the lost comrade.

It seemed that common sense, perhaps torn away while the thrill of battle and survival still beat its heady cadence into their hearts and mind, had been forgotten; two men, both with their throats slit and crimson essence steadily spurting from their forms, lay dead in the floor of a house.

Two men came from that very house, stepping through a hole in the wall created by one of those two men being met with a heavy charge; the commotion had gathered clandestine attention, countless eyes that watched from behind the shade of their windows.

So when the two men, Pontus and Cassius, stepped lively down the road out of town in search of their friend, they?d be met with the casual essence of town; yet beneath this mundane exterior rested the treacherous tongue of more than simply a few.

Pontus would come to realize that no men, nor women or children, seemed to go out of their way to speak with him; as he waved close to some, they branched away. Soon after the team left the boundaries of Weland, their deeds had been revealed to the proper authorities.

They were now wanted men in the town of Weland.
