Specialized Items:

 


[RS | Riva's Battle Set]

  • If a player has two pieces of the set (or more), each weapon from there on out gains +1 to Preps held as the strength of the Crystal is increased by proximity.
  • If a player has three pieces of the set (or more), each weapon gains an additional +1 to attacks.
  • If a player has four pieces of the set (or more), the player may then create a SLOT ABILITY for each weapon—these are 'taught' abilities that can be used on command without draining the player's talent pool, mana, or fatiguing the player.

Lastly, if you are reading this and you are disinterested because the +1's to various things like 'attacks' don't appeal to your style of combat (T1 over Dice NPC), then you may take the liberty to modify the present status to reflect something more T1.
e.g. Instead of additional +1 to attacks, you gain a rush of energy which allows you to strike more ferociously. It's the same thing, worded without the notion of
dice. You get the idea. Same goes for any other sets or items you will find here. The Dice System is not mandatory or forced.

  1. If it has been more a month since the last post, you can contact a prime-GM of Alterion [ @Syncopy, @paradigm, @Aleksei ] and request to seek the artifact or legendary someone else has been attempting to claim, but has gone stagnant.

A.) Chances are, we will permit you to start unless we know of the variable circumstances of the player's situation and they have expressed a holding pattern or wait time.

B.) That being said: If you are having life issues, problems posting, internet/phone issues, or otherwise have something in your life that is troubling you to the point that you cannot currently post, but it may be temporary—let one of the aforementioned know so that we can hiatus your thread(s) and let others know if something has arisen! Communicate and you will be covered (unless the reasoning is trash).

C.) A & B being said: if the first user comes back after the month has been passed and a new user has started their quest, the first cannot stop them from claiming it (exemptions: RoE—Izral) and must wait until they either claim it or lapse as the first did and continue their original thread.

D.) After 3 months of stagnant posting, your name will be removed from the OP for seeking and a new thread will be required to be started (unless stated otherwise by a GM).

Attention, Potential Equipment Creationist,
I pray not to regret this; the Alterion Equipment creation is open-forum. Anyone may add their own items to the roster and I will update the ToC to reflect, however I ask that you consciously think long and hard about your submissions and make them not only relevant to the world, but also serious and to the point. Follow the layout given to you below and make them legitimate or they will be removed or you will be asked to alter it to fit the world better.

○ LEVEL of ITEMS ○

 


Class 1 / I / Common

  • Items you can find in any local weapon or pawn shop in any city within Alterion.
  • These items are usually are not for vB sale as they can be obtained freely throughout roleplay and questing.
  • They may have some generic enchantments like Blind or Poison.
  • Ten posts or more will snag you equipment like this.


Class 2 / II / Uncommon

  • These items can be found in specialty shops. They're still rather easily found, but a bit of legwork may be required to obtain.
  • These items are not usually for vB sale either, as their relevance to the world is still too mundane or ordinary.
  • Some mid-level enchantments might be found on these items, which separates them from the common version of the same item.
  • Fifteen posts or more will land you something mediocre like this.


Class 3 / III / Spectral

  • This is where you start getting into items recognizable in passing. They're made of uncommon materials, stronger, better, and more durable than other items. Items that are few in number and elusive to find.
  • Ask an NPCer to aid you in finding a weapon like this, if you'd like, but it is not mandatory.
  • A couple of good enchantments are often found on these items.
  • Twenty posts or more will find the item a good home in your inventory.


Class 4 / IV / Legendary

  • Often found in sets and used as the backdrop of such fabled stories and lore, Class 4 items are one of a kind pieces. There might be two that are incredibly similar, but there will never be two alike. They're often well guarded and tucked away from sight, but never knowledge and whereabouts—Spinks potentially have eyes on everything...
  • An NPCer is required for an item in this category.
  • Thirty posts or more will net you a find piece of Alterian history.


Class 5 / V / Apocalyptic

  • Guarded by the darkest creations in all of Alterion, these items are the mirrored sides of the fabled, for those of evil intentions. Sets are often prevalent in this category and each piece might be harder to obtain than the previous, but all are well worth the destructive trouble.
  • An NPCer is required for an item in this category.
  • Forty posts or more will encase you in the lore of Alterion as a hero or villain.

Description: The Blades of Decay are a ruthless artifact that had been said to been long lost and forgotten in the bowels of another world. Their power relies on the strength and endurance of their master and have the ability to sap life and decay all that come into contact with them. Considered to be of Dark Elf descent, from the Underdark, the material is considered indestructible, because anything that swings into the aura becomes brittle and ruined before the strike actually occurs; otherwise, composition is unknown.

Dimensions
Substance: An unknown material similar to Alterion's own Crystal. 
Enchantments: As a demonic weapon, Fenrisulfrs sustains itself by feeding off any ambient cosmic energy. This energy, most often comes from its host--ideally a demon, with a vast supply of energy to feed it. Fenrisulfr requires soul energy to remain in the physical realm and will sap the life of its host if it is not fed a regular diet of souls. Human souls sustain it for longer durations, with monster and demon souls sufficing for shorter periods of time. The weapon is constantly growing in power, so long as it is in the hands of a wielder it is acclimating knowledge and passing it on to its host.  

  • +1 to NPC combat rolls. Enhanced Strength.
  • Internal Demonic energy may be bent to the will of the user. Aside from metaphysical manipulation allows the user to cast a variety of spells, including: Turn Undead; Summon Undead. 
  • 6" demonic energy-radius around the orb when active. 
  • Offer user soul eating properties upon touch. Life-drain.
  • Re-equip. The weapon that surrounds the jewel varies, bending to the users whim.

Description: Fenrisulfr, appears as a glowing crimson jewel roughly the size of a tangerine. When it takes on the form of a weapon, it generally appears to be made of a dark metallic substance and bears many demonic sigils and runes.

Jormungander is arguably the greatest of the Alterion swords. It is said to be a living weapon, capable of interacting with its owner in any number of capacities. Likewise, it holds a will of its own, largely driven by instinct. The blade constantly seeks energy to feed on and often partners up with the most capable warriors to provide it with adequate energy to sustain its vicious diet. Unlike many of its counterparts, Jormungander doesn't actually slice, but rather shaves and rends targets with its countless serrated scales, siphoning off additional energy with every cut. 

Jormungander grants a number of perks to its user. The steady supply of energy the massive sword regularly feeds upon, supplements its master. Additionally, when facing massive sources of energy, from sources such as demons, monsters, or steadily supplied passive abilities, the blade can increase its reserves by feeding on the latent energy of others.

Finally, in a pinch, the owner can effectively meld with the blade, taking on drastically more monstrous characteristics, as well as the blade's own unique abilities.

The extent of Jormungander's capabilities, specifically the ones tied to devouring energy, are drastically less substantial than one might imagine. It can't fully heal the user, nor can it completely sap any individual target of their energy. These processes are simply slower and staggered over long periods of time.

The only instances where these abilities are more pronounced are against sources with massive amounts of exuding energy.

Enchantments:

  • Sanctus- Made of pure energy- roughly equal to half the amount that can be stored in a person. It can be manipulated within the owner's reach, and can only surpass this limit when it is a solid object. The energy may be controlled any way the owner likes, including any spells, alchemy, psionic power, etc. It can't be manifested in anything living, only in things like dirt, water and air.

Due to the amount of raw energy it puts off, the user must be able to withstand it's power output. If not, the results may be disastrous. When Sanctus' energy is depleted, it retreats within the user to replenish it's energy.

Sanctus' power is equal to a single prep in T1.

 

  • Malus- Made of what's considered to be anti-energy. If a person with a large energy reserve channeled all of their energy into one attack on Malus, Malus would retreat to a place within the owner that lacks energy, generally the hair or finger/toenails. It remains there until it can rid itself of the energy it's been afflicted with.

If the user has energy, it will slowly leak into Malus, thus rendering it useless. If, however, the owner can keep their energy separated from Malus, it becomes an extremely useful weapon, capable of negating 50 percent of incoming force.

For the purposes of T1, a single prep is equal to Malus' power reduction potential.

 

Description:

  • Sanctus- Manifests itself as a white/light aura around the controlling organism. It can be ordered to manifest into any physical form the controller wishes, with the physical form being any light color it's owner wishes.
  • Malus- Manifests itself as a black/dark aura around the controlling organism. Like Sanctus, it's twin, it can be ordered into any physical form, so long as it's dark or black.

Ownership:

  • Sanctus- No owner.
  • Malus- No owner. (Being searched for by Selefere.)

Description:  Two special meta-pistols capable of conjuring one of the four elements, thanks to a unique alteria implanted in the core. They’re derived from the ability to siphon energy from the natural source of ambient magical energy that rests on all planets. The guns siphon said energy, attune it to the element willed by the wielder, and then fires out an elemental discharge. There’s no need for ammo.
