Teller's Respite

Kalar walked over and gently rubbed his hand against her back and shoulders, letting the warmth of his skin through his hand seep a bit into her, it slowly progressed into a full neck, shoulder, and back-rub as he spoke. He knew, to a degree, how she felt. Not just from her journals but from the similarities of his own experiences.

"If you hadn't been saved, you would have wandered without purpose, and fallen much further into despair and self-harm. I won't tell you how many lifetimes of mine were burned before the Comvidon interceded on my behalf, much like this 'Goddess' of yours intervened on yours. You were right to feel a debt there. You were simply saved in a different manner than you initially knew."

Kalar leaned in and kissed the top of her head.

"It's a cold, lonely state of being." Kalar said softly. "And it was horridly wrong to leave you alone to it. Your father's advice may not be sound for a relationship, but in this case it ironically rings true. I am here now."

The avion gave a small, sheepish smile, in hopes to bring her around, just a little.

Kalmuli flinched initially when she was touched, feeling the warmth from his hands on her back. She wiped at her eyes that had watered as she laughed but it had hit some of her own frustrations. She looked back at him, bringing a hand to one of his on his shoulder. "It's miserable, you know? The empty feeling...Screaming out to a void and no one there to listen."She said as she wiped her face, managing an awkward smile. "Hah but at least it's not so lonely anymore."

She finished wiping her face. "Well...not quite as lonely as before...I've met others like us. Not so much paradoxes but people who dabble in the fates."She said as she leaned back a little, the back of her head resting against his stomach. Taking his hands, she would pull them forward so she could hold them to her chest. "This is better though...knowing that you'll be around. It's hard to talk to anyone about this who wouldn't either exploit it or try to kill us. At least I know even if they tried, it's not really possible. Not completely anyway."

"I'll admit to feeling much the same." Kalar said nodding and leaning somewhat closer to Kalmuli, looking down from her position resting on his stomach. "I was initially guilty... that you were dragged into the same woes I had to face. But I am happy... at least in no longer being alone in that regard and that you will not have to go along either. I have learned in my time that immortality makes each moment more precious, not less. For we will live long with our regrets, and rare is our opportunities to make amends."

Kalar paused for a moment and leaned in. He wanted to bring the feelings back up. There may have been pain both of them were dealing with, rather intensely, but that did not mean they could not also celebrate their reunion in the casual manner they intended. "So you know, and you do not feel I am making bad on my promise. I am planning a small surprise for you later. So if you catch your Valkyries whispering, do allow them their secrets, just for another day or so. I hope it will be something that will make you smile."

He leaned in to nuzzle her cheek, lowering his arms to wrap around her waist. He had alraedy figured out what had happened to her during her time being rescued. But that was a discussion for another time. For now, he wanted to bring little joys to them both. "When was the last time we fed each other food, hm? That is a fond memory I would love to begin reliving - and we still have plenty of food to finish."

Kalmuli looked up to him, tilting her head when his came near hers and chuckled a little as his face nuzzled against hers.  A trait, she knew, was very common among the dragons in her life. She reached one hand up to bring it behind his head, rubbing the back of his neck. "At least we can live with our regrets and be happy at the same time. So long as it's not something to swallow us up."She said, bringing her hand back down to rest on his on her stomach.

She let out a long, soothed sigh and raised an eyebrow. Kalmuli smiled, chuckling again. "Not for a very long time..."She said as she eased up a little, standing to her feet and pulling him around to sit him down, easing down on his lap. "Why don't we spend the rest of lunch catching up on it?"

Kalmuli would move to collect a bit of steak, bringing it around and offering it to him.

Kalar was allowing himself to be far more expressive than usual, with the cuddling method related to his dragon heritage. This was mainly due to the mostly hidden upheaval of his emotions that were just beneath the surface, wanting to break through. A wall of screaming desperation and elation that were all mingled together. But being directed to be Kamuli's chair began to ease that chaos within as she guided a piece of meat for him to bit and chew, and he found himself smiling slightly, but honestly as he did just that. He chewed and enjoyed the flavor of somewhat raw meat. He had to wait until he was finished to speak so he instead reached and grabbed a share of the steak for Kamuli herself to eat. Moving over the plate of pineapple slices over to them so it was easier to mix and match flavors.

Once he was finished with his bit of steak, he spoke. "You were always the better cook with land meats than I was. You always had to boil or thoroughly cook Pastan meats... it's a habit I've yet to break in all my years." Kalar curled an arm around beind her to support her back and guide her to lean on his shoulder slightly so she was comfortable.

Kalmuli would part her mouth, slowly taking the steak into it as her lips and tongue brushed along his fingers. She would draw back just as slow then drew back to chew, making delighted little noises. She quite enjoyed this bit of pampering. Kalmuli would sit on his lap, her legs swinging a little until she finished eating, licking her lips. "Mmm...I learned from dwarves and their feasts."She said as she leaned against him, reaching over to grab a piece of pineapple and slipped it to her lips.

She quirked an eyebrow, leaning in and slowly passing the pineapple over to his mouth, using her tongue to gently probe it in and then pulled back, licking her lips of the juices. "They're rowdy party-goers but they knew how to cook the best beasts so you could feel the meat slide down your throat like it was liquid."She said, bringing her fingers up to her mouth and sucking off the juices there as well. "Though...they weren't too big of fans of their greens."

Kalar took the opportunity in the transfer to steal a kiss away from her and watch her with raised eyebrows as she licked her lips and her fingers. "Tease." Kalar called out in an even tone, before going to grasp a piece of pineapple and deliver in much the same way as she did, but instead letting her get the extra juices off of his fingers if she so chose, before continuing.

"Odd. Dwarves are masters at dried foods in Idonis." Kalar said at her mention of dwarves. "Unsealed waters or waters in foods carried with them a higher risk of contamination in the magma channels, so, Dwarves became specialists at making dried foods, fruits, meats, and vegetables. There was great variety in the spices and seasons mixed with the foods as well. Sometimes the seasons were mixed into the drying process, other-times on top. I've never seen better firedries than from a dwarven stock market." With a world with no sun, 'sundries' were not an appropriate term for a common item.

This time it was a one of the beans, politely cut so it would be a decent bite but not too large, and held in a fork. They were on the subject of vegetables, after all. "Goes to show that environment can have quite an effect on culture. It always makes exploring sunlit worlds intriguing for me."

Kalmuli smirked, parting her mouth to accept the pineapple and chuckling a little as he stole another kiss. She sat chewing, opening her mouth and drawing his fingers in, moving her tongue along them as she lapped up the juice. She licked her lips again, tilting her head as she listened. "Mmm...Dwarves in Fal'lain and other worlds liked to do a bit more hunting. Resources are a bit more spread out in the highlands."She said as she shifted on his lap. "Granted, Byrn was excellent at making jerky. It was always a treat to have when going to visit him."

The next bite was a bean, Kalmuli parting her mouth and slipping it off the fork, munching on it and wriggling on his lap a little. She licked her lips, stealing the fork to stab a bean and offer it to him. "True...I find the elves here a bit more...stereotypical. Which makes me more of an alien here..."She said, teasing his mouth with the bean. "I'm far too feisty."

Kalar snapped his mouth quickly to grab the bean and pull it from the fork. Holding it in his own lips, he bit part of it off and then let the rest of the stalk hang in his lips for a moment, before pulling it in and chewing it all properly.

After swallowing he chuckled. "I've met feisty elves before, you're more than that." Kalar reached over and dabbed on of the bread squares into the soup, letting it soak up the juices and making sure it was strained enough to not cause an utter mess as he offered it to her to bite. "Cunning and Kind. You're as cultured as you are crazy; Equal parts class and sass. Those who get to know you are intrigued and left constantly thirsty for to know and experience more. Those who opt not to are typically off put and intimidated. You are, a thoroughly unique individual regardless of your origins." Kalar waits until Kamuli has processed her food before reaching low with his hand and frisking her back side with his free hand. "And I would not have you any other way."

Kalmuli chuckled with him, watching him soak up some of the juices from the casserole, parting her mouth and sticking out her tongue, accepting the bit of bread and sitting munching on it. A little frisk on her rear made her give a little squeak and she quickly swallowed with a slight blush. "I'm glad you enjoy the insanity that is me."She said, grabbing a bit of steak again and coupled it with a little bit of the casserole sauce again, placing it to his lips while the juices ran down her hand.

"Mmm, careful though. I may have you on the table eating pineapple off my stomach and steak off my breasts."She teased. "Of course...there's not much privacy in here."

Kalar ate at the steak, reaching out to grasp at her hand and gently lap the sauce that had drained down her hand before cleaning up afterwards. "Oh? I suppose we could just play it off as an educational opportunity." Kalar had that furtive smirk on his face that indicated that he was very much teasing to bring a smile and a blush to her face. He then made mock jestures with his free hand as if he were teaching a class.

" 'Come along, Valkyries! For today's lesson I'll be teaching you how to make your Baroness sing variants of the same note in 2/4ths time. Now, much like any wind instrument, the correct placement of your fingers and lips in rhythm paramount to getting the right note to play.... watch very carefully now'. Hah ha ha! I'm sure at least a couple would be quite interested in that particular music lesson." Kalar laughed a bit aloud. He then would lean and kiss her on the nose before nuzzling it with his affectionately. "But no, I'll be careful." Kalar moved his hand over to grasp her cup of wine and offer her some to drink. It was time for a pallet cleanser and the two were getting a touch more heated than he wanted to follow through on.  "We can play another time, however. I'm quite enjoying the more gentle moment."

He knew that the two of them had much of those and more to catch up on, and plenty of opportunities to please one another in a less polite sense later. For now, he felt the twinge of happiness he had not felt in a very long time simply in her presence doing silly things. And for a being that had dove through the depths of complexity and wonder - it was these quiet playful moments of contentment that he had dearly missed.

"I should mention, I have a bit more of a connection with the Aether and Mana now than I did before our singing last night." Kalar said quietly. "I've told Plume to change the project over to the next component and ask some materials out of her and Gizelle. At the very least I'll be able to have a medium soon. Finding a decent enough blade for my methods, however, may take longer. I did steal away time to read your journals, and did not spare any afterwards to read up on available metals in this realm yet."

Kalmuli shivered as he licked along her wrist that was always a bit of a tender spot for her. She brought her arm close to her chest and then her hands to her face, covering it as he started going on about. She shook her head, embarrassed and flustered by his wordy lesson about her. She peeked between her fingers, her face red. It didn't get much better with the nuzzle on her nose and she puffed her cheeks a bit. Kalmuli would accept the wine, sipping a little. "Of course...there will be lots more opportunities to play."She said, taking another sip.

She would lick her lips again that were becoming rosier from the warm food, teasing and runs of her tongue across it. She raised an eyebrow and crossed her legs on his lap and then her arms as she mused on the options he had. "Should be a good challenge for them...but should you need to dig through my stores for something you can modify, you're welcome to it. I'll show you where I keep my stash."She said before she relaxed but smirked a little, reaching over to grab another bit of pineapple, dropping the wedge into her bosom. "Whoops...dropped it."

Kalar gave her a look. "Naughty." He said as he went for the pineapple with his fingers, gently prying it out from between them and nibbling on the fruit teasingly in front of her before biting slowly and drawing it into his mouth. After swallowing it, he gives her a quick peck on the lips, but would try to abstain from making it any more than that.

"I should start calling you words like 'Vixen', with how easily you fade into your wants like this. Or... is it perhaps wanting to make up for lost time?" He gave a smile and looked at her a moment before drawing the attention over to the food. "If we're done with lunch let's at least put the leftovers away. But if you're looking to expend some physical energy... I have a different way we might be able to do so that might not require another bath shortly after." He looked over her and ran an arm along her shoulder. She of course had him a bit compromised with sitting on him. But she probably understood that he was serious about not going too far, at least for now.

Kalmuli wiggled her eyebrows, watching him fish it out with his fingers instead of his mouth. She gave him a little peck in return. "I have an insatiable appetite for wanting to feel good."She said as she shifted off of his lap, giving a long stretch. "Plus, I was laid up for months...I couldn't exactly scratch a major itch without being in a lot of pain."

She looked back to him, bringing her hand to pet along his head. "Hmm...Something that expends some physical energy without needing another bath right away..."She said as she started to collect the plates, scraping any good leftovers on one of the other plates. "I'm curious what you have in mind...There are quite a few things to do around the manor."

She would bent over and stick her rear in his face. "Quiiitte a few things..."She said though she stopped, sticking her tongue out at him. "Just joking of course...what did you want to do?"

Kalar laughed a bit at her posing herself for him teasingly and chuckled, getting up to start to pat at her rear gently to give himself room enough to stand. From the darting of his eyes in quick assessment of their remaining food. He was looking for a quick and efficient method for them to clean. The blue eyes moved backed to her. "I was thinking of a bit of light sparring, actually. It has been a while since I have had the opportunity to work on my hand to hand - and it just so happens to be yet another thing we used to do together. Not to mention, the pseudo dance we made of it."

Once he had his routing, he began to work in putting things away. Having explored the shelves a bit earlier, he knew where the storage containers were already. He was quick by most normal standards in how he sorted each of the dishes into a correct bowl and sealed it, stacking them neatly on top of another. He used the serving spoons only and was very careful not to cross each of the foods where it did not belong. This was in case someone else wanted to try the food but did not care for cross-flavoring, or cross contamination. After each of was done, the dish was rinsed and left as he was previously informed for the golemns to complete their duties. He took this on primarily mainly to give himself something to do that distracted him away from the numerous temptations that Kamuli had placed, and to give her a bit of physical separation for the same. He begrudged them not for their strong attractions to one another. In fact, it was something he quite delighted in. However, it also could serve as distractions from other time spent together and other accomplishments they needed, dearly, to pay attention to. And for the meticulous and self-abusive mentality of Kalar, it came natural to him that the responsibility to deny himself the pleasantries and focus on duties rested solely on him. He had to be the bad guy, the stick in the mud.

But more importantly to him, in spite of his teases to the contrary, he wished to maintain a bit of privacy to their intimacy for now. He simply did not know the others enough for the sort of interactions he so deeply teased before.

Ignoring the grating sound the clank of the plates made to his ears, he washed his hands briefly and turned about to Kamuli, having completed his self-appointed task. "If we don't play too rough, we won't break a sweat. And, if we do, sweat is easier to towel off."
