Leo leaned against the café wall, while his sister paced restlessly in front of him. “He’s late,” growled Luna.” Leo’s response was immediate. “No he’s not you ninny, we’re just early. Calm down.” Luna rounded on him. “I am calm, okay? Calm and collected.” Leo raised his arms in mock surrender. “Okay, okay, you’re cool. I get it.” Luna growled at him: “Don’t you forget it,” before resuming her efforts at wearing a hole in the sidewalk.

In truth, the pair were waiting for not one, but two people. One was the wealthy merchant who had hired them to protect his home, and the other was another specialist the merchant had hired. The twins hadn’t heard much about him, just that he was very good at what he did. One of them was curious, and maybe a little excited. The other was purely apprehensive.

The café the four of them had agreed to meet at was open-air and well lit, so theoretically the twins could have waited inside, but they didn’t want to go in before the others arrived. The place was a little upscale, and both of them felt just a bit out of place on their own. Besides, the day was nice, with warm weather and a slight, but pleasant breeze.

Hopefully their compatriot should be arriving any moment, and the merchant himself slightly after. Luna really didn’t want to have to wait too long.

Tobais appeared in a puff of smoke the mask had cross bones on it. It quickly changed back to normal.

" Am I right to guess your the other two here to help with the job?" Two swords were on his back with two more on his waist. An effort to intimidated thsoe who wanted to come at the merchant but they were there for more than just show.  That had a feeling comming off of them like they were cursed.

" Pleasure to work with you if you are and let's hope it's a good pay day." He smilied under the mask at he two.  They were an intresting pair. He'd been informed they were Illusionists helpful on your side a real pain on the other.

Luna and Leo reacted similarly to the man's appearance, dropping into defensive crouches. Their tension relaxed slightly when he made no hostile moves, and both stood out of it as he started talking.

Leo laughed after the other man was finished. "A neat trick you have there." He extended his hand for the other to shake. "Leo Celeste, and I do believe me and my sister over there will be working with you today." Leo pointed over at Luna, who was busy eyeing the weapons on the strangers back with suspicion. Her expression was cramped, and she made no move to say anything. Leo called out to her, sounding just a bit angry, "Luna, introduce yourself for gosh's sakes." She looked discontent, but after a bit she managed to mumble a stilted greeting. "Luna. Nice. To. Meet. You," before backing away a bit more.

Leo turned back to the newcomer. "You'll have to excuse her, she's a bit shy around new faces. And new masks, for that matter."

Tobais laughed at the mask part. It was sweet. He shook both their hands. " pleasure tinned you both. Don't worry about the weapons we're both working on the same side today. Also thanks for  noticing." He stretched a bit. " So you guys know the brief for this mission ?"  He took a look around the area looking for dangerous persons.

Leo shrugged while Luna kept her distance. "We probably don't know much more than you. We're waiting on that merchant, what was his name..." Leo put his hand to his temple, clearly deep in though.

"Carlis," called Luna. "His name was Carlis. He should be here..."

"Hey," a loud voice called out from a short distance. "Are you the Celeste's and Tobias?" A slightly overweight man came hustling over them, huffing and puffing just a bit as he arrived. "Sorry, was almost late. But I'm here now! Why don't we head inside and we can discuss the contract?" The gregarious man didn't wait for an answer, waltzing into the café and beckoning for them to follow.

Luna looked at her brother, and Leo offered a shrug, before following the loud merchant. Luna sighed a bit, before walking in after the two men to the table the merchant was getting set up.

Tobais held open the door as the merchant went past.

" You two can proceed first, I'll be right behind." He gestured for them to go ahead. Keeping his eyes on the merchant just in case something went wrong. Of course other things could happen as well. So it was all the same to him. The world was always a choastic dangerous place.  So he had to always be ready.

" Pick us a good seat my wonderful sir." He called out to the merchant.  Today could still be fun. You never knew. He hoped these two wouldn't be a drag to work with. Although if they were he'd just have to deal

Carlis took his seat at the four person table, and gestured for the other three to do the same.Leo and Luna did so without complaint, pulling out their chairs and seating themselves in eerie synchronicity.

The inside of the café was crowded, with busy waiters moving back and forth taking orders while people dined and conversed. Luna seemed on edge in the lively environment while Leo held himself confidently in his seat, nonplussed with his surroundings.

Once everyone was settled, Carlis began to speak. "As I'm sure you have heard by now, my home and property have been threatened by notorious gang of thieves. These ne'er-do-wells style themselves as 'thieves of the people' or some such nonsense, and they always make a show of their robberies, calling out their targets whilst taunting us hard-working merchants and nobles. I have employed the three of you," he gestured to the twins and Tobias, "To defend my home tonight, which is when the thieves have claimed that they'll come calling. Do any of you have questions.?"

The twins looked to each other, and shrugged, and shook their heads, all simultaneously, before turning their attention and questioning gazes to Tobias.

Tobais sat there for a moment in thought taking in what he had heard. " none here this should be an easy job if you ask me they are just thieves unless they're packing something unseen. Although that said they'll really want what ever you have. So anything we should get now that will make the place more defensible ?" He asked with great thought. Of course he should probably get sight on this place before hand but anything that was able to be acquired now should be. It would make things a bit easier if they couldn't get back here.

Carlis shook his head. "No, nothing that I can think of. But then again, you're the security experts." He looked at Luna and Leo and both of them just shrugged, and Leo spoke, "I think we're good. Unless Tobias has any objections, why don't you show us to the house?"

Carlis stood up. "A splendid idea, I'll lead the way."

Tobais stood up and opened the door following them." Well let's get this show on the road no need to stand around now." This was going to be an exciting job once the action started he knew it. He could feel it.

On the way over he took careful note on the envirnent and the climate. While the thieves said they'd come at night they didn't say they wouldn't do an ambush. But also to be a good theife deception was typically a requirement. However monsters and creatures had to be around to it was after all nature they were walking around in. That was always a danger whenever you went.

He made sure he hadn't forgotten anything just so he could set up traps.

The merchant dragged the trio to a mansion in the more upscale part of town. It wasn't the wealthiest abode the twins had ever seen, and not even the most splendid home on the street, but it still spoke to wealth and opulence in equal measures. Still, something struck Luna. "So why are the thieves targeting you? No offense or anything, but what makes you stick out from among all these other rich people?" she punctuated her question with a gesture at the surrounding homes.

Carlis' face darkened. "Truth be told I'm not entirely sure. However I suspect that it's because they know that I cannot field a security force at the same level as my," he paused for a moment, "compatriots." He stood still for a moment, before speaking again. "And that's why I hired you three, to give those bastards a surprise." His smile returned. "But enough of that. Please, follow me inside, I will introduce you to my security advisor and he can give you a tour.

Tobais nodded.

" Well that's certainly a good reason. Hey may I ask you two of your abilities and skills so I know what I'm working with?" He marvels at the rest of the street. This dude totally wasn't hiding something but he didn't care all humans had Skeletons everything did. Best leave them be fore one gets hurt.

Mod course being a good theife here and you'd have enough to go years without work. Even if you spent lavishly. Unless it was to lavish but that was an extreme even rich people wouldn't go.

Luna and Leo looked at each other, communicating in the way that only twins (and maybe telepaths) can, before Leo spoke up. "Well I can project illusions that look, smell, and feel real. I don't do taste, but hopefully that doesn't matter," Luna stifled a giggle. "And my sister here, well, let's just say that she's necessary to me operating at full capacity." He put his arm around her shoulder, and she wilted a bit under the extra attention.

Leo made sure to speak as they walked, bringing them inside the mansion. The interior was just as lavish as the exterior, with ornaments and paintings displayed in a impressive show of both opulence and poor taste.

While they talked, Carlis returned, bearing with him a tall man with no-nonsense features and dark spectacles. "This," Carlis spoke up, pointing at the man, "is Sebastien." He manages security here and you'll be coordinating with him.

The bespectacled man smiled. "A pleasure, I'm sure." He turned to Tobias, the eldest of the trio. "Always a pleasure to be working with professional." He extended his hand for the other man to shake.

Tobais shook his hand. " Thank you  for noticing it's not often people appreciate that little detail.  You look as though you have seen plenty through your years so you must surely have some wisdom. A pleasure.  Anyway sorry to change so quickly but perhaps we should keep them out or force them through a certain point that is ready for them?"

he said as he smilied at the Twins. They were the trump card of something went horribly wrong these two would be the key to success and he knew it. Although he'd have to be careful about employ g them.

The man shook his head. "There isn't a region of the mansion secure enough to bottleneck an invading force, it's just simply not the way it's build, I believe it would be to our benefit instead to try to prevent the thieves from ever entering in the first place."

Leo spoke up at the man's words, "Well if it comes to it, I can create illusions that would effectively change the structure of the house, make certain areas more defensible, close of exits and the like."

The man looked over at Leo, surprise evident in his raised brows. "Oh, you can? Hmm, something to consider, I guess." He quickly turned back to Tobias though, clearly intent on relying more on the older, more experience man. "Why don't I show you around the house so you can get your bearings?"
