To Establish a Bond...

He had intentionally chose to take the long route here so that he could see the sights of these lands. Many a rumor and mystery later, he had arrived andwelcome was ill received. Birds immediately took flight, a mass of earth tones and beating wings fleeting the area as he pressed on through the thick wilderness north of the Keep. A part of him would have preferred to not have to use these means but the King's presence often invited challenge----Which was odd, considering how imposing the man looked, and his reputation for destruction preceded him wherever he went.

It simply wasn't in his best interest for that "ill-effect" to follow him here, and so, treking through the wilderness seemed to make more since, and provide him with as much cover as possible. Covering him...wasn't an easy task. At 12' tall, in possession of a wonderfully sculpted physique with impressive dimensions, and dressed as a KING would be, it was fairly hard to go unnoticed. His foot-falls while not intentionally so, had force to them. He may very well be as big, if not bigger then most of species of wildlife present in these lands, and these creatures reacted to him all the same. He'd have reached a ridge, where the elevation changes and goes lower, having him presently on high ground and from where he stood he could see the walls of the keep off into the distance, marking the final stretch of his journey was at hand. "Next time im going to jump here...."

IN the moments passing that it would take him to cross the divide between he and the front gates to the keep those guarding the front would notice tree's bending and swaying and occasionally one or two being knocked down, if anything not on purpose but due to the inconvenience of his sheer size and lacking of a practice at manuvering when walking. He was accustomed to walking through anything that got in his way, its only the understanding that these lands were prized by it's ruler that he was attempting to show the respect it deserved in NOT doing avoidable damage. What he couldnt control however was how aany of the guards may have received this approach but would understand them being on way side of cautious, especially when the massive figure emerged out into the open, brushing aside the even more massive expanse of cape draped over his shoulders. With both hands where hey can be seen the King spoke in a deep, bass voice that was easily heard and equally clear, "My apologies for the tree's, but I am here to see your Queen..." with a pause, and now having audience with these guards at the front the sheer difference in perspective size would become even more apparent as the king dwarfed and found himself looking down on the sentinels present. "Proteus Rauz. The King of Taurus....seeking Audience with "The Red Queen" as I am told she is called..."

The soldiers that were standing guard at the northern outpost of the city had noticed the disturbances from quite a ways away, one of the men darting inside of the small building off to the right to be unseen by the time the large beast of a male approached the open gates. The other guard stood at his post still, watching with hardened eyes as he lumbered closer and eventually came to a stop to address him and his missing companion. At mention of the Queen, the soldier that had disappeared poked his head out from the door frame, a deep set frown etching his expression as he got a look at the King from Taurus and listened, dipping back inside for a few more moments before exiting the outpost and walking towards him. "M'Queen has granted yer request, my Lord. She wishes ya more care in tha city, it's a long walk. I would offer'n a horse, but.." The man trailed off, deciding not to mention the obvious stature of the visitor.

"I will show ya to the Keep, if ya'd follow me." Without posing that as a question, the soldier beckoned Proteus along to follow him as he started towards the city. He kept his questions to himself, although curious to where Taurus was, which he knew not to be in Terrenus, knowing the Queen would likely cover any question he might have by the time they arrived at the imposing stone building that overlooked the city. The ground they walked on was hard compacted cobblestone, even with his size he wouldn't so much as cause a crack along the main road, unlike the unfortunate trees he had come across on the way.

Within the Keep, the Queen had been unpacking from a trip she had only that day returned from. Within her chambers with clothes and small items sprawled out on the silken covered bed, the transmission from the guard outpost had come as a surprise. She hadn't been expecting anyone, and only within hours of her return she had a request for an audience. Her mood hadn't been the best, having grown quite accustomed to the life of a leader, the month she was living out of a pack or seedy little Inns had shown her just how far she had came over the last two years. Showered, dressed in comfortable attire not fit to meet people in, she begrudgingly agreed to see the King from Taurus- only because he was a King from another land. Any small dictator, politician, Red had even assumed a journalist or two may filter in over the next week, but a King was surprising.

Within her crooked arm she held a heavy red greatcoat, one she had meant to leave behind in Patia but found it would be within her possession forever, or at least until she decided to rid of it with other means. Lifting a hanger from the horizontal bar inside of the large closet, the blonde stowed the coat away without second thought, turning to the back wall to muse over an appropriate attire for the meeting.

Later, as the soldier escorted Proteus through the city, the large Keep stood a welcome sight. "Down tha greathall n' to tha left. She'll be a'waitin' in the throne room." A new addition to the Keep, the throne room had been erected over the month that the Queen had been away, mostly used for small audiences with the newly appointed Baroness of this City, but the Queen herself hadn't had the pleasure of using the room yet. The doors were tall enough to easily accommodate their guest, the halls wide enough he wouldn't need to skirt around people along his way, and once he arrived in the throne room he may have found himself surprised over the sheer size of the room, from the outside it didn't seem possible the Keep would have such a large space.

Decorated in golds, blacks, and reds, the room itself was rather plain considering. A long, wide area runner rug in deep crimson led him to a short set of steps, where a dark wood throne with crimson upholstery was sitting. Sitting on the throne was the woman in which he sought, the Queen of the Scarlet Kingdoms in Terrenus, or the "Red Queen" in which she was more widely known. Settled on top of her head of a-line cropped hair was a small, beautifully studded crown, quickly contrasted by the crimson of her eyes. Her face was soft, although hard stress lines could be seen along her forehead if one was to look closely enough. Dressed in a long, black dress in lace that seemed to fit so snug along her curves in the mermaid type of style, she had one of her legs crossed over the other, where a pair of flats could be seen just barely poking out of the long fabric.

"King Rauz, as I am told? Welcome to Terrenus, and my home. Predators Keep is honored to have your presence."

He admired this place. As he was escorted there wasn't a moment when his eyes weren't scrutinizing some detail. No moment when his head wasn't turning to observe some detail of this place that he found profoundly interesting or pleased by it's presentation to his eye. Nothing disappointed him in the slightest and the keep had lived up to it's reputation as being quite the place to behold. Nothing however prepared him for how "She" would captivate him. He could admit to being even a tad bit embarrassed at the moment. How he lingered there, his eyes never leaving her form, drinking it in, in all it's entirety. He almost missed his cue to respond to her greeting..

"Uh, yes, Thank you...and I assure you Queen, the honor is mine."

He swallowed hard and continued on, his eyes trailed down and then managed the courage to re-engage her again, "Im here on a diplomatic task at the behest of my Kingdoms council. We are looking to expand on our trade routes and relationships with other kingdoms beyond our own, and after having to move my entire kingdom, Im eager to stabilize my kingdoms economic dynamics. Im sure you can understand as a Queen, how important it is for the people to be in a stable situation."

His eyes never left her own. His form never wavered or gave off a body language suggestive of anything other then being a humbled guest. "For passage through your lands to trade with others, you'd be compensated, and any trade deals done with you directly would of course be done at the best possible rate and lowest inconvenience to you. My kingdom specializes in artificial power sources and synthetic materials for industrial, commercial and retail use which are as efficient as the materials you use to produce the same items, but at a fraction of the cost and less impact on your lands. Of course we would have to discuss particulars, but as a gesture and token of good faith, I decided to personally present myself to you and offer a diplomatic favor---A cost free presentation of my services in resolving ANY problems to you or your kingdom, in hopes of earning favor..and maybe some "Cool points" with the Queen."

He'd give a smile. A gesture his face was not accustomed to making but for her he couldn't help but to, and he had been spending time practicing actually being sociable as to counter his reputation of being a Raging Engine of Destruction, which he was. The point was to show that he could be alot more.

There were always rumors floating around within the Keep, within the Lore Spire, within the Castle in Caelum and Altissium. She knew people without knowing them. Names whispered behind doors, reports that could never be validated poured in from all around Valucre, the Red Queen had eyes everywhere, or so one of the rumors told. The King of Taurus was one such man that she knew very little of, yet had learned a small portion about through these rumors. When he stepped into the throne room and approached the steps, her expression was as blank as blank could be. She was careful, calculating, her emotions hid well behind a mask of indifference. That was what the big male would see when his eyes would finally wander up from drinking in her well poised figure, the smallest hint of a smile without lien or let of what she was thinking.

Each pause, each gulp, even his struggle to keep his eyes to her own spoke volumes of the stranger, he was nervous yet as he spoke of what he was here for, he seemed to settle and grow more comfortable. She didn't interrupt, placing her hands clasped loosely in her lap as he began to prattle about details of his wish of her and her Kingdom. He was strong in approach for what he wanted, which to her seemed like a good sign, but there were of course official channels she would need to flip through before she could make any formal decision on the matter and still hold a good conscience. "I appreciate your interest in the Scarlet Kingdom, Lord Rauz." Pausing, she allowed her smile to grow to give him a bit more comfort, a warming gesture. "Right now my Kingdom is going through changes, expanding and growing it's military forces and populations. The trade we have right now as well as our own commercial fortitude have been enough to compensate for the huge differences we've been going through. That being said, there is much I need to finalize on over the coming months, and adding another trade route-" Her hand lifted, gesturing lazily towards him. "As well as Ally in the middle of so much change is a difficult process. Now, I'm not saying I'm not interested in your proposal, not at all, but I cannot promise anything until my Kingdom is settled after so much shifting."

It was admirable that he appeared at her door personally, a bold move, some might say foolish of a King, but bold nonetheless. "If you have months, I wouldn't mind having you around, if you want to earn my favor and trust in your Kingdom I believe over this period of time we can accomplish this." It was a long while to wait away from your own Kingdom, she had first hand experience being away from what was hers for an extended amount of time and as taxing as ruling may be, not being there was just as if not more taxing on a person.
