The Floating Castle [Quest]

Recommended Posts

"Oh my. I thought that would be easier." Jim was really pale, and felt like vomiting. He tried standing, but his legs were mush. He crawled to the wall, and managed a small smile. They had made it into the grand court of the castle. A purple carpet was rolled across the floor, which was dotted with small symbols. Large posts with light emitting from them stood next to the carpet, casting a warm glow. The throne at the end of the room was silver, shining the light of the torches back. It was empty, with a small glass where the arm was supposed to be. A sturdy bookcase was on the side of the wall, lined with many books.

There was nowhere else to go except up. The ceiling was only 3 meters above the ground however. Jim looked around for somewhere to go.

Jophiel would offer help and get under jim's arm lifting him even though jophiel was a bit shorter. He would help jim walk and move to the bookcase at least.

"Maybe this is another puzzle...one of these books might be a key to unlock a hidden door?" jophiel guessed as lily would fly around and tempt to pull out books randomly to test jophiel's theory

Lily grabbed a book that she couldn't hold, as if it was glued to the case. Jim stood up, still very pale, and pointed towards it.

"Try that one," he said coldly, barely speaking a sound.

He was too weak to grab it, and went back to his spot, and sat down. He was much too tired to pull a book, let alone do anything else. He sighed loudly, and thought for awhile.

Jophiel pulled at the book that Jim had pointed towards, he readyed himself for any trap that might spring with his tablet ready and lily by his side.

However jophiel was more concerned with protect him as he seems to be the one in the most state of trouble.

The whole section of floor that they were standing on quickly swung around, revealing a new room. It was dusty and old, with cobwebs strung about the corners. The concrete room was mostly empty, except for a single box on a wooden pedestal and a dim lightbulb hanging over it. Jim walked over to the box, and examined it from all sides.

It had ornate details on every sides, each a varying design. The top looked like the roof of a pagoda, and had little gold rods going to a spiky point. Metal lined the edges, reflecting the light back. There was a key hole in one of the sides, yet there was no key. Jim couldn't find anything to open the box.
