Brevity exercise OOC [a wrinkle]

Recommended Posts

I have a few ideas on what this roleplay could entail but before I throw them out and start limiting the scope of your florid imaginations, do either of you have anything you might want to do/experience/accomplish via this RP?

I currently do not have any fixed accomplishments that I want to work toward. Usually, what I'll do, is figure out how the plot of a thread can benefit me or if there is something I can do within the limits of the thread that will suit my character or organizational needs.

Usually the thread itself is what inspires more self gain related thoughts. (It is a wonder that I ever get anything done, at all.)

So I'm pretty much game for anything.

The place to default here is "complete a quest", but absent that some ideas that came to mind

  1. Alien spaceship crash - we can be prisoners that escaped or an exploratory crew. In either case I'd like our characters to have little or zero knowledge of one another so that we can have some fun discovering their dynamic rather than deciding on one beforehand and detailing it, if that makes sense
  2. Part of the canon process has people detailing opportunities for their canon threads, so we find an area that we want to start in (am open to any suggestions) and do the opportunity of the most recently canonized thread. This may require some shopping around if an area we like doesn't have any recent canon entries in it that would have that section
  3. Transport company - we move stuff from X to Y and attend to the shenanigans that come about as a consequence

Default Option, Option One, and Option Two are all equally interesting to me. Option Three makes me think of the milk escort mission in Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, where link shoots milk thieves while transporting milk to the town milk bar. I know that's not what you have in mind (or maybe you do!) but god did I hate that almost as much as I hated the horse racing in Majora's mask.

I can scout around to see what is available for option 2.

This specific update relates to a capture a mysterious being that was possessing people. Apparently the creature in question was brought back to be studied. An RP related to the examination, dissection, experimentation might be interesting.

This is a loose suggestion, because it caught my eye. And there is some potential for unique interaction between say an FIST forensics officer, a Gaian Inquisitor, and whoever else might be called in to help preform the evaluation.

A canon impact by this thread would probably be related to the subject escaping and re-establishing itself, which means the thread has the potential to change genre midway through to something similar to a survival horror/thriller.

I'm with Praetorian - one and two both sound good to me. I'll also just put it out there that I am a super fan of Yh'mi as a setting. An RP wandering that nightmare-scape would float my boat.

I like this a lot esp. as we can link it back to some of the other opportunities. Studying it could help find out who 'Gez' is as well as free the residents who are still trapped in that town

Although not in yh'mi we can transpose some of that paranoia context with the host or entity escaping into Ignatz and us having to find it again

I think I'll play an NPC-ish military character for it, probably someone that specializes in enchantments and hexes like the Opportunity calls out for, which someone else can also do if they're interested it's not like there can only be one of those to the team

all for it?

I only wanted to bring an idea to the party. I'm game for Praet's suggestion. Can you link me to the Opportunity? I'm not finding the relevant link...

  1. Ronda's Lot: Private Anouk Enouk was assigned to investigate a town that exhibited an unusual level of peace and kindness. She discovered that the residents were being controlled, and some were being possessed, by a mysterious entity calling itself “Kline”. She trapped the entity in a single host, and brought the host back to command for examination.
