Recommended Posts

This is the OOC for anyone that is an official member of the Gaian Church

Organizational information for the church can be found here:

Was discussing with a fellow member some notions for the kind of activities clergy members might get up to

Ideas

building churches

helping train other clergy members in small villages both martial and divine combat

food and / or medicine drives or intervention

rebuilding infrastructure

humanitarian efforts in places which suffer natural or unnatural disasters (they can purify food and water, using healing magic, etc)

helping build new roads or dams using geomancy (and with ecosystem-level thinking) or helping secure existing ones)

general clerical things: blessing lands, foods, people, overseeing funerals, exorcising malignant spirits

Congratulations to me for ranking up from priest to oracle

Congratulations to @~Harlow. for ranking up from apprentice to priest

Congratulations to @Witch for joining up! I've added your character as an Inquisitor but as Emeritus until you complete a few threads, because I can't think of a way to balance flexibility in people being able to play different roles but also give a nod to people that actively complete threads in the name of the church

Because I like reusing and repurposing content: a post I made in response to an attack on a Gaian church shows a decent example of how a diocese would respond while making use of the clergy skill set (aka without accounting for special player character extras)

Regarding the Hierarchy.

Yshmael would go Apprentice --> Priest --> Oracle --> Diocese -->Paladin --> Inquisitor --> Archbishop

Yes? If no, please correct. Is each segment an OR situation, like Priest OR Oracle? Diocese, Paladin, OR Inquisitor?

Each rank is successive to the one that came before it. However a character can decide to lock their role in place while still growing their rank / powers

I'm interested in taking my Hands of Abberoth Wall Text intro post and repurposing it to benefit a few of these.

It has a good base I want to break down and re-use since that thread was a double dud and I REALLY wanna do this !

My intent is to fortify Inns'th, which I've spoke on in the Yh'mi AMA

Happy to do it to other spaces once I divine where spots may be (like parts of Aspyn!)

Let me add this into the mix - building an outpost in or near Groff Basin to have a toehold into the area Kahd has infested with his grossness

I will pursue this after the battle! Definitely interested.

Or I'll  join in if someone else starts it up before it concludes (if allowed)

Is the Spirit weapon bound to a single form?

Can one work toward manifesting more than one weapon, like dual wielding?

Finally, Can one use the spirit weapon out of their grip, or is it moreso something would have to break your will to unequip you?
