amenities 3775 Posted September 21, 2018 (edited) Hi! I'm just looking to shake some rust oFf my bones with a good ol' T1. If you're here because the topic name fired you up, let's dance cowpoke. If not, I would still fancy a waltz. ? If you need to look at the rules they're here, though I'd prefer somebody with a little bit of experience and some sort of character sheet for whoever they use. It's first come, first serve. You can respond with a first post or a character and a request for me to make the first post. I will use either Cain Rose or Nica Sero. One is easier, one is tougher, you can pick if you'd like or I'll make the choice once you post. Twitterpated 3497 Posted October 3, 2018 His mind suddenly reeled, forgetting his most recent activities in which he was suddenly found himself in the midst of rolling plains that didn't seem familiar in the least. There was no civilization apparent likely much further than the eye could see. Winds whipped non-sequentially as dark clouds shrouded the skies above. Day, night, it was dark regardless. As he stood eerily alert, his heart racing, the Raiju within released a cry of booming thunder to the streaks of lightning rapidly illuminating the dark clouds and sky alike. The low rumble in the atmosphere was breathtaking and ominous. 'Is this a dream?' He though, thinking maybe Rei was trying to show or tell him something. Even if that was the case, it didn't mean that this was in fact just a dream. Regardless, it felt real, thus he would treat it as reality. Donning the same Bronze Man Armor he wore during the battle at Last Chance, Jinsoku stood with his unarmored fist clenching onto the length of a metallic pole arm. Lifting it and gazing upon it for reassurance, he confirmed that it was his trusty micro-composite spear. Fully retracted to approximately 18 inches, the weapon hardly looked imposing, even with it's tapered tips. His charcoal eyes scanned the area around him as his Electrolocation scanned the region with greater range and clarity than his eyes could ever fathom. He seemed alone for the moment, though he could feel that something was amiss. Something, or someone was coming. Judging by the sketchy scenery and his readiness for conflict, he had to believe it was the most likely event to occur regardless. The Raiju released another thundering roar before carrying the act into it's rendition of a howl. Though of course, only he could hear him. 'Easy boy.' Whatever anxiety Jin felt in this moment, Rei mutually felt. @amenities 2 1 1 1 Ataraxy, Fierach, Etched In Stone and 2 others reacted to this
amenities 3775 Posted October 5, 2018 (edited) Lightning struck, and the wizened Joseph was hither in the instant of light. It struck again, and in his place stood the mage. Upon the clouds, with a skyfire steed, the wicked shadow of Cain had come. His wiry hair was a ragged crimson, eyes a stark pale bearing into the stormhead. He wore a burlap robe exposing his chest and extending then to expose bare ankles and feet in the mud, black figures like a mobile tattoo drifting ambiently over his skin. Beside him was a bulky, 7-foot tall entity of steel. From its head protruded an orbit of seven-inch spikes. On the center of its back was a single handle. From its body exuded a never ending, bell-like gong sound. Its ominous tone imitated the distant thunder, the nearer drums of war. There was one certainty about the mentally distant subject. He seemed entranced by the gong. Incensed by it. It was hard to tell where the pupilless eyes were directed, but Jinsoku— twenty-five meters from the subject in question— would get the sense that in its first instant the entity had been looking at the sky from whence it came, and in the next instant its colorless hues bore upon him. Features illuminated and then darkened by the frothing clouds overhead, the subject’s whimsical focus seemed to hone in on Jin, the epicenter of lightning. While Cain’s focus was never lacking, it was divided. An omnibus of dialectic characters swirled around his head only visible to him, a language he had made between himself and the world so the two could crack jokes at others’ expense. There was no joking here, though. Though rain pattered down in dispersed patches, the ground sodden all around them, the ground beneath Cain’s feet dried. The grass died, crackled crisply and blackly in a perimeter around him.(1) He had been here before. This was no dream. It was a nightmare where men and women came to die. He had made himself the veritable Krueger in these realms. While visibility was limited by the darkness, it would be clear to Jinsoku and Raiju that the mage’s clothing billowed out from him with unnatural force. Spoiler 1) Prep: dialectic [1] *I’ll keep the number of preps, including the one I’m currently gathering, in brackets after the prepped item. Feel free to keep me faithful if you interrupt anything! *I'll also number any important happenings like preps or any mention of advantages to coordinate with stuff at the bottom. *I'm not big on post summaries at the bottom of my post. Twitterpated 3497 Posted October 18, 2018 Lightning struck, only to strike again a moment later. The thunder that rumbled in the wake of the illuminating streaks brought with it someone, or perhaps something. His charcoal eyes narrowed on the mysterious figure some 25 meters away. He couldn't tell some of the finer details from this distance, and surely some would remain hidden even in closer proximity judging by the excess of billowing fabric draped upon his body. A sense of dread forced chills to run up his spin, fear encouraging larger bursts of adrenaline than anger could ever hope to inspire. His heart began to ache, it was beating so fast. Goosebumps prickled across his tan skin, as a visible tremble found his body. Despite the other several symptoms, the trembling was actually a reaction to his excitement. There was always an underlying sense of excitement found in him when it came to fighting, regardless of opponent and even of reason. A smile crept onto his face before a snicker escaped his lips. He couldn't see the dying environment near the figure, though he sensed it none the less. His electrolocation easily caught the sudden appearance of a perimeter blooming around the figure. He smiled greater, though this revelation was clearly nothing good. He smiled though because he was right. It was just another way he could compare himself to his Master before him. That and of course the confidence he carried with him as a Knight of the Order of Force Majeure. Whatever, or who ever this thing was, Jin was its hunter, its venom, its bane. His immediately responded by pooling his Yoki; With his right fist clinching onto the shaft of his halberd more harshly, his free one closed tightly as well. His body became accented in likeliness of the dark clouds above, with random flashes of electricity dancing across his form. (1) "I am Sir Jinsoku Hayabusa, Knight of the Order of Force Majeure!" He beckoned as he lifted the end of the shaft of his weapon ever so slightly from the ground before allowing the head of the weapon to descend before him. The weapon became horizontal as he brought the tip of the spike above the ax head to point directly at the figure. Finally, his smile faded and his expression was left to compliment the crazed look of the half mask he wore, matching the rest of his Bronze man armor that only covered the left side of his body. Patiently, the Slayer continued to observe the figure. amenities 3775 Posted October 22, 2018 (edited) "I am Sir Jinsoku Hayabusa, Knight of the Order of Force Majeure!" The gong of the metal puppet continued to throng at the end of every second. That was the only response Hayabusa would receive. To be a killer of men who killed others was to accept the risk of death; to accept the risk that, should you fail in your venture to kill the other, they might in turn kill you. Whether now, or whether in a hundred years after painstakingly hunting you down, either man's death was a possibility no matter what the circumstances. Cain may have appeared a mindless ghoul here to dispatch of Jin, but coursing behind the clouded eyes was a train of thought forged in the furnace of suspicion and the tainted human experience. Hence, Cain opted not to return to Jin any analogues of his own name. Upon his face was written utter bliss and content with the magic coursing through him and his small atmosphere. Cain Rose was as still as a deadman. The Wiccan’s entalloned digits curled into his gaunt palm as Jin coursed with electricity. He saw the electromancer furl his ability and allegiance around him like a flag of comfort in the frigid cold. His outlook was grim; his future was grim; his death, grim. He grinned jagged and furious, a sneer more reminiscent of a scowl, and four seven-foot spiderlegs composed of the Troll’s black ink extended from his back. Two arched over his shoulders, two up from beneath his arms. The ones on his left began scritching and scratching against the back of the metallic puppet beside Cain. Meanwhile, select dialectic characters swirling around his head began to illuminate so that even Jin could see them from his 25-meters away. As they illuminated, the spinning circle they formed also narrowed in on Cain’s head; orbiting closer to his brain; closer to fruition. Rain evaporated, misting away in a five foot radius around Cain and his puppet. His arms began to raise at his sides and the ground that had become a veritable desert at his feet crackled with inward pressure, lifting so that he stood on a two-foot high pedestal. (1) Jin would barely see it in the darkness, but maybe he would sense the rain between them being blasted aside by a behemoth of sound that had grown within the steel puppet since the beginning of the fight. A twelve-foot wide sound wave preceded by three “gongs” of the metal puppet mounted to lethal force, traveled at roughly the speed of sound for Jin. If it slammed into him before he was able to discern the effect of rain moving aside or a sonic attack, Jin would be driven back a good ten feet and experience minor organ trauma magnified by the encasement of sound his armor would create should the soundwave hit him. Twitterpated 3497 Posted October 30, 2018 "?" Jinsoku saw the strange symbols appear out of thin air and easily accepted them as a feature produced by the monster before him. The previously affected area around him suddenly shifted before raising him a couple feet off of the ground. Whatever he was preparing to do, one thing became crystal clear. He had to get closer to him, and neutralize him before he could prove just how much of a threat he was. The shadow of a man was clearly a mid-long range type, perhaps why he carried such an interesting toy with him. Perhaps the toy was akin to a decoy to defend it's master from close range aspects of battle. Regardless, Jinsoku began to charge Cain, the electricity building upon his body intensifying in both occurrence and potency. His current strategy was all but such, serpentine! (1) It hardly mattered that the ground was wet, his experienced movements were obvious in his approach. As was his feigned naivety. When the puppet moved to dedicate purpose, Jinsoku witnessed it by feeling through his electrolocation long before his eyes could see it. The disruption in the electromagnetic spectrum found it's natural vibrations completely disrupted by a 12 foot wide anomaly, roughly in the shape of an arch. Suddenly a burst of Ki swelled within his leg, coiling about the muscles as his knees acquired a bend. Springing up and off of the ground, he jumped with a prowess beyond his natural capabilities. Vaulting over the sweep of the sound wave, Jinsoku was well aware of sonic attack and it's affect on a person. Being host to a Raiju having blessed him with the intimacy of storms and all things included. (2) "!" Having crossed approximately eight feet prior to his jump, Jinsoku had about 17 more to go. By infusing his Ki in his jump, he effectively double his capabilities, bringing him with a max jump distance of 20 feet, with a climax of 12 feet high. He led with his armored left side first, his halberd currently gripped with both of his hand as he prepared for a proper thrust. While placing himself airborne in his previous defense left him vulnerable, he was ready to tank through any protest to his approach and achieve proximity with Cain. In his success, he'd undoubtedly be prepared to deliver an attack, up close and personal. amenities 3775 Posted November 9, 2018 (edited) The earth beneath Cain was itself a serpentine paradigm to Jin’s movement. The platform on which Cain stood grew upward and twisted to Cain's right as Jin jumped to hurdle the wall of sound. Rain splashed away from him in dusty evaporant. Air crackled, his skin crackled dryly as the serpent of ground with Cain standing on its head moved seven feet to the side; his right, Jin's far left. Then it began moving with frighteningly lifelike accuracy diagonally up to meet Jin. With this trajectory, with the airborne Jin’s left side and weapon pointed at Cain’s original position, Cain now approached from over Jin’s exposed left shoulder riding a serpent of dry earth that unspooled and unspooled from the earth like a giant monster. A direct confrontation to Jin’s attack would have required Cain to use some of the power he gathered up, but with Jin jumping from this distance simply moving out of the way saved Cain plenty of trouble. The possessed earth moved him deftly into position, flying in from Jin’s back as he flew apparently almost helplessly through the air.(1) While this happened, the approaching Cain did something unprecedented. He threw the hulking metallic puppet with all of his significant might at Jin's open spot so that one of two things would happen: either Jinsoku would have to dodge or awkwardly maneuver his sword to block the 2-ton, unsliceable mass approaching him, or his left shoulder would be met with the spiked ball of a head belonging to the steel puppet. These spikes would, with the weight behind them, pierce Jin's shoulder armor and deal some damage. (2) From behind the gigantic projectile aimed at Jin rocketed in Cain riding a living pillar of dry earth. (3) The four long spiderleg appendages on his back jittered with excitement as a singular symbol illuminated before his forehead. One black spine extended from his hand, forming a giant needle in his hand and hardening. The distance between them when the titanic metal puppet hit Jin would be ten feet and closing. His cackle was made, like a jackal far-off in the desert. His eyes were still white with dead fright. Spoiler 1) Quickdraw dodge: I would have used preps, but the distance from which Jin is flyingin, combined with the fact that Jin had to jump over a wall of sound, leads me to believe I can maneuver without using my preps. 2) Quickdraw attack: Threw metal puppet at the back of Jin's left shoulder, spiky head first. 3) Gatered prep: Big O (1) Stored preps: dialectic (2) Edited November 9, 2018 by amenities 2 Twitterpated and Etched In Stone reacted to this
Twitterpated 3497 Posted November 21, 2018 So far, Jinsoku's gamble was seemingly in his favor. The next moments to pass would prove to him just much worth it was to put his vulnerability on the line just to bait this demon with. Nothing came as a surprise as the enemy and his puppet moved. With the option of a simple thrust removed, he was prepared to dedicate his movement elsewhere. First, Cain moved towards his left, the puppet following suit almost in the same instant. The large, heavy, metallic puppet hurtled haphazardly, spiked head first, flanked Jin's left aiming for his shoulder. His left, armored hand left his halberd before balling into a tight fist. Almost instantly, an invisible bubble began to build up around the Knight's fist. Other than this, he waited patiently for the puppet to reach the desired range before springing his counter-attack upon it. As simple as adjusting his upper body and throwing his fist up and back, he allowed a vicious back fist to meat the spiked head directly. The catch being that the building energy around the fist that went nigh unseen burst, donating a concussive burst that pushed against the 2 ton mechanism. Accounting for 2500 pounds of force, the concussive force coupled with his natural strength rivaled the entire weight of the puppet. While this wasn't enough to swat it away, it was indeed enough to stop the puppet from slamming through him and even force it back just enough to warrant a followup before it's Master could be upon them. (1) While the bulk of damage to the puppet's head may have only been the loss of a spike or a few and a healthy divot, Jinsoku unfortunately over estimated his armor. Between the force of the puppet and himself, the gauntlet found its mutilated and practically gone from his hand completely. Left in its wake was a bruised and bloodied hand. thanks to his immense training and his experience, it wasn't broken. But two, maybe three more strikes like that and it certainly would be. If the puppet had have come from a different angle, he would've followed up as planned, though the halting of it and Jin's continued motion forth made it not worth the attempt. Instead he allowed himself to land with a single roll before his strong legs flexed in defiance to the momentum and allowed him a three foot slide to a stop; By the end of which Jin aimed his bruised and bloodied hand at with just his index and middle fingers erect. The energy he had been storing previously traversed his torso and down his arm before firing out of his hand via the fingers in a burning hot streaks of brilliant lightning. (2) The rate of which the lightning traveled would hardly allow the puppet to tank the attack for it's Master that so eagerly chased him originally with the puppet, however, the fact that he already had to move around the puppet to not be hindered in his charge would leave Cain at the mercy of maneuvering properly without knowing the lightning strike was coming by the time Jin was landing on the ground. Then again, there was no telling what this demon was capable of enduring, or just how slippery he could be. What was the weird symbol over it's head? The fact that it was lone and full meant that it was ready in Jin's mind, but ready for what? Jinsoku remained ready for the continued, inevitable approach of the enemy. Already he was hard at work preparing for his next exploit. amenities 3775 Posted December 21, 2018 Angel kztkkakkkazktszzz of Death adlfadzzkkdja It’s always important to study your opponent. When things are not as they appear, those who are deceived pay. Sometimes with embarrassment or ostracization; some with blood. The price of being deceived by Cain was often the latter, but to be frank he took enjoyment from both payments. Now, though, Jin’s to be paid would be blood. The motion of Jin’s fist rotating to strike the steel puppet was simultaneous with the motion of Cain’s arm as Cain rose the Needle in a stabbing motion despite the ten feet separating him from Jin. The gong of gauntleted fist against mace-like head issued through the patter of rain, but the savage and fierce Cain, with blood red hair matted against his face, ensued evermore. Evermore he had convicted himself to wade through the blood of the ignorant. Those who wished to instill order were the villains, for one man’s order was another man’s oppression. Cain had seen it with his own eyes, executed it with his own hands. And now he came as an agent of its dispel. Jin may not have been the head, or maybe even the shoulder of this oppressive entity; but he was a part of the body of lies Cain sought to dissolve. Enact Cain Template I: The Interchange. The Big O around Cain’s wrist illuminated in the first perceivable moment after Jin struck the metal puppet. The metal puppet moving away from Jin and Cain moving toward Jin suddenly switched places. (1) Just as Jin moved to roll, his exposed left side to the prior location of the puppet, there now existed Cain with a crude and brutal downward stabbing motion with the Needle. During the entire motion from swatting the metal puppet to rolling forward, Jin exposed his lower back— also a typically lowly armored spot. With nothing but chain mail to rip through and an entirely exposed back, Cain (now where the metal puppet was, except driving forward instead of flying backward) would drive the Needle through Jin’s left kidney. Accounting for Jin’s forward momentum in his stab, Cain intended to utterly pin Jinsoku to the ground from behind mid-roll. (2) Meanwhile, the (4 ft diameter on the round top) pillar on which Cain had rode, just having been dismounted by the off-kilter metal puppet who was being struck by the lightning intended for Cain, arced downward in an attempt to bash Jin’s upper body into the ground while he was both off balance and put off by Cain’s stabbing motion. Moments before it executed the bashing motion, its tip split into five spikes whose intention were to impale Jin through and through; 5 points aiming to take out lungs, heart, and stomach. (3) Cain, standing behind where Jinsoku's left shoulder had once been, well, his spider legs doubled in size suddenly as if they had been injected with Bane juice. Twitterpated 3497 Posted March 19, 2019 The sound of whatever that needle was made of scraping against metal was a terrible screech, like nails on a blackboard. The piece of armor dented and gashed drew Jinsoku's blood as he was thrown down awkwardly from landing as intended. He tumbled to a stop and just laid there for a moment, face down. His heart raced so bad it hurt, his lungs already beginning to burn for air as two opponents pushed him steadily towards his limits. Though he wasn't moving, he could still perceive whatever was within his range of electrolocation. This left him with a single chance of offense as Cain arrived in the spot where Jin's shoulder was previously. He applied his stored magnetic prowess to affect his own previously discarded halberd. The pole arm lifted from the ground before aiming it's top spike at Cain's would be heart. Suddenly it speared through the air, aiming to thrust through his back and out of his chest. (1) Once more that pesky puppet came to attack him, he felt it all along it's approach, and while his sensory abilities wouldn't be enough to tip him off of the last minute augmentation to the attack, the anticipated target range remained. His back, his center of mass. At what was the last possible moment for him, most likely before the augmenting of the strike yet after its lauch, Jinsoku's body was juiced by the Yoki once more, though this time its application was more internal and direct personal use. Supercharging his muscular system, Jin granted himself a temporary case of enhanced speed. Lifting up just enough to throw himself aside from the assault, Jin found that two prongs hand still managed to catch and destroy the rest of his chest plate, as well as bust the shoulder of the armor completely. (2) However, the shoulder itself was still operable regardless of how it was starting to ache, and the only other immediate damage was the long tear across his torso from his left ribs to his right pectoral/shoulder. As fast as his trained, mutated body would allow him to recover, he did just that. All the while steeling himself for his next plan. This time as he gathered his Yoki, he did so with more of a defensive intent than an offensive one. amenities 3775 Posted May 29, 2019 Jin would quickly find, if he hadn’t already discovered, that Cain was no knight. He was no valiant swordsman or honorable paladin; he was a vagabond as dark as black— a proud, unfair evil that would gleefully fake for your stomach and instead stab your eye. He leaned into his attacks instead of hesitating. He moved in a state of flow combined with full understanding of battle and its stakes, his greatest motions seeming propelled by magic more than muscle while saving his brain and muscle for other things. His eyes maintained steady, unblinking openness, pupils whirring this way and that to always keep Jin before him. The arm of earth extending from Cain’s original position, split into the five arms now posted in the ground feet from where Jin lay, loomed still in the rain, a bare testament to the geomantic strength with which the warrior was dealing. The steel puppet smashed into the ground a couple feet to the side, cratering the wet earth deeply with its immense weight, sinking in just a little more before settling into the muddy grass. Just as Jin turned onto his ass to dodge the pillars, armor ripping from his body, he would see Cain looming over him. Jinsoku was bloodied, moving backward. Cain, only peripherally aware of the halberd, raised Needle in his left hand to strike almost immediately as Jinsoku turned; the knight’s only saving grace his magnetic ability to bring the halberd back on his assailant. The sound of metal leaving the ground while the halberd shifted to pierce him alerted the blood mage to an attack from his far left peripheral as he turned. Instead of thrusting downward in Jinsoku’s death knell, Cain moved to the side just in time to avoid what would be a fatal pierce for a human. (1) The poleaxe slid with disgusting cleanliness through two ribs, deep enough to puncture a lung from under his left arm and, cackling in surprise, he dropped the Needle to the ground. The bottom spiderleg on his right side stopped him from rolling too far to the side while the top left spiderleg composed of a resilient, living ink pounded down to eviscerate Jin’s chest with an upward gorging jab before he could rise; before the knight’s grievous wounds could heal. (2) Meanwhile the bottom right spiderleg, thrust in the ground, continued pulsing and growing, delving deeper into the wet earth with maleficent influence. (3) Moving closely behind the stabbing spiderleg was Cain’s right hand. His wild face lunged for Jin through the ~meter separating them. The instant the spiderleg impaled him, Cain’s hand would twist around the straps of Jin’s shoulder armor and pull him closer to the puppet master, farther into the stab. Cain’s left arm was numb— well, everything was always numb, he had uninherited a good portion of ‘unnecessary’ nerves transferring into Alignak’s body— but for the moment, when he tried to move the limb, it wouldn’t respond. Blood congealed in the gaping slit, crusting as the rain crashed down on them. Twitterpated 3497 Posted July 18, 2019 Despite his extra sensory perception, there were so many finer details that came to be in such swift succession that he hardly had the time to keep up with each and every one of Cain's maneuvers. Whomever he was, he was certainly a person of interest for the Order of Force Majeure. Master James himself especially. As it stood however, he found Cain. Cain was his fish to fry! Suddenly, one of those black spider-like legs came to stab him in his chest. With his practiced reflexes, his right hand at the limb from the side with and open fist. Upon impacting it, he'd firmly wrapped his digits around the limb in a vice grip, only to realize that about a half inch of the tip had already pierced it's target. Jinsoku found himself winded in the experience, though without removing the limb from that stab he couldn't guess the level of damage that had been done beyond the breaking of his breastplate. Fortunately his lung hadn't collapsed, though he had yet to know for sure if it too had been pierced. Before he could react any further, Cain's right hand grabbed at the ruined armor at his shoulder. With his own preternatural strength despite his apparent body types, Cain pulled Jin closer. Jinsoku however, focused his efforts on keeping that leg from stabbing deeper into him. It was amazing how one could feel the strength leaving their muscles without the proper support of oxygen. Slowly he could feel that spiderleg pushing through his grip and deeper into his chest. A shift in their immediate electromagnetic field was the only warning Cain had, as the limb was already moving, encased in a bubble of translucent yoki. Even with his weakened state, nearing Cain's mercy if there was such a thing, Jinsoku was certain that the amount of forced packed behind this strike would be enough to remove Cain's right arm at the shoulder; The punch some mediocre uppercut to the armpit, angled to drive the remaining force behind the strike at Cain's head and midsection. Regardless of if he lost a limb at all, there was no way Cain could tank 2500 pound of force without being forced away from the source. (1) Not that he would opt to do such, but even if he wanted to yell or scream in pain, Jinsoku currently felt incapable of producing any certain range of noise. With his mind still fresh and conscious, he continued to pool that defensive yoki within his core. While he hadn't the ability to stall out to his preference, he was making damn sure he charged this skill as much as he could prior to its use. (2) Spoiler 1) Quickdraw: Crashing Thunder - Jinsoku can charge a single limb at a time to deliver a forceful concussive blow that would measure about 2500 pounds of force. The force itself discharges upon the limb impacting another solid surface. 2) Prep: EMP 2 1 Etched In Stone reacted to this
