The Menagerie is as its name suggests, a collection of creatures from all over Valucre; known, newly discovered, and engineered. Unlike a regular zoo, one might find in any of the larger cities of the world, this is a mobile outfit that travels the entire globe. Bringing fantastic beasts and myths to the neighborhoods of those daring enough to face them; and possibly their own fears.

Everyone knows when Fantas-Menagerie has come to town. Lights, balloons, music, and a very colorfully quaint tent set up on a quarter of an acre of flat land. How does so much fit into such a small space? That's simple...it's magic! Every creature in the Menagerie has a huge habitat that provides it the means in which to thrive comfortably, without fear of harm or endangerment.

Although it is a world of wonderment, it is not unusual for people to question the eerie magic or business deals continuously taking place inside the Menagerie. One can only imagine what lies in the shadows of its greatness, constantly pushing against its superficial surface. Ripples, however, are a natural occurrence for any business venture. Despite its partnership with the Babel Conservatory based in Khaznah [Faejarhe], it lies outside the reach of any specific government. Owned by a sole Operator and managed by another; with donated funds procured through multiple business agreements.

Idora Metka Cet'ce

The Founder & Grand Operator of Fantas-Menagerie

Head Beast-Tamer.

Idora is an elemental Arkadian believed to have deep woodland ties to the ancient realm of Arkadia. As an Elementalist, she has the capacity to wield different types of magic with equal strengths to one another. It is also witnessed daily by other members of both the conservatory and the menagerie, that she as the ability to connect and commune with different animals. Whether or not it is done via empathy or telepathy has yet to be explained. Despite her numerous abilities, Idora sets herself to the task of Operating-guarding & protecting-the Menagerie and its occupants from would-be wrong-doers. Her beliefs on the value of Life is as great as those claiming to be of devout religion. The staff of Fantas-Menagerie are her family and children, as well as are the creatures and plants that dwell within its biomes.

Originally from the Babel Conservatory, having served her duty to the company as an environmental scientist, Idora was eventually promoted to a seat on the reformed Research & Development team as the conservatory's head curator by Dr. Lilium Concordia. Who recognized her strength of will, duty, loyalty, and honor in upholding the conservation efforts of Faejarhe as well as fighting to preserve against any potential loss of animal and plant life. From this vantage, Idora was able to culminate the ideas and dreams of herself and her former colleagues in order to create an educationally based revolving collection of creatures and plants from around the world of Valucre. Not only to teach people about them but also to encourage those unknowing of the information to face them in order to better understand the world in which they live. Conservation and protection are the two greatest philosophies Idora teaches to staff members and visitors alike. Wanting them all to know how different courses of action can impact the world, its environment, and the several species and beings coexisting alongside one another in it.

Balance: Although Idora balances on different lines regarding life and all that it encompasses, she considers herself to be of a neutral nature. That being said she is not against the whims of the natural order but holds no hesitation in combating against interference from unnatural hands.

  • For example: A hydrolynx may eat a nibbebun because it is the nature of a predator to hunt, kill, and consume its prey out of necessity [natural] for survival. Whereas, a societal being hunts, kills, possibly consumes a hydrolynx not out of necessity [unnatural] but instead for the special elemental abilities its hide may carry.

These beings not only train and tame a multitude of the creatures in the Menagerie for the biomes, shows, and attractions,

but they also run and sometimes can be found taking part in the daily activities of the Petting Zoo.

Care Takers

The strongest foundations of a business are structured by those willing to sacrifice their time and effort to a grand cause. These are the caretakers, creatures of different alignments, that work in a unified manner to upkeep the high standards of safety and productivity of The Grand Operator. They are the solid building blocks and mortar of Fantas-Menagerie and are held in the grandest of esteem to Idora, because they are not mere employees; they are family.

  • Skaven;
    • Although they originate from the almighty Skarr clan of Skaven based in Terrenus, these particular Skaven are of a tribe all their own. Having been found by Metka Cet’Ce, a special bargain was struck. One that would provide both species the ability to expand in a setting they can thrive positively in. The Skaven are the guardians of the habitats and the creatures residing within them, as well as handlers and feeders. They provide sturdy work ethic to a vast network of goings on in the Menagerie.

  • Fae;
    • Where the Skaven are the muscle, the Fae are the gentle magical helping hands. They work in every habitat throughout the zooscape in order to provide comfort and wellbeing to the creatures within, as well as assisting the Skaven in maintaining strict security to the entirety of Fantas-Menagerie. These Fae are from the nation of Karmathen, personal escorts to the Left Bower that have followed her lead in joining Metka Cet’ce in her endeavors, for a price of course.

  • Moogle;
    • This species of sociable and friendly creatures hail from the great nation of Renovatio. Having descended from the first Moogles to enter the world of Valucre that took residence in the Celestial Lands. While the Skaven and Fae care for the creatures of the Menagerie, the Moogles tend to the visitors. Packed with knowledge and know-how, they are able to escort travelers through the exhibits and detail the natural habits of the creatures everyday lives, inside of their habitat and outside in the wild.

[Named for the pallid and silvery nature of their skin.] Aside from Idora and Dr. Concordia, very few people know exactly where these small beings originated or evolved from. Despite their elusive appearances throughout the Menagerie, they assist in caring for the animals and are themselves a protected Race of beings under the umbrella of both the Babel Conservatory and Fantas-Menagerie.

  • 1x Bewm Bewm Breaker Busta[5]

  • Ascian Alloy
    • belt 75 mm
    • deck 20 mm
    • shielding Miasma Reflexive Latice[6]

Special Features:.

  • Heidern Drive[7]
  • Wibbly Wobbly Spatial Stuff[8]
  • Atmospheric Simulator
  • A Big Red Button[9]

  1. Castek Miasma Core -
    • Powerful energy generator which pulls miasma directly from the external atmosphere through numerous vents along the exterior of the craft. This funnels the miasma through the vessel and into the core powering the craft. The core itself is incredibly energy efficient, and produces significant output, allowing even larger vessels to be surprisingly swift. Furthermore, the efficiency of the core allows it to power the numerous systems and technology as well as the armaments, and still leave plenty for reserve power in case of emergencies. Additionally, the Core will actually use the siphoned Miasma, to recharge crystallized Aetherite.
  2. Castek Aeytherite Engines -
    • Similar to the Miasma Core, these smaller engines use crystallized Aeytherite for power. These engines pull from the crystallized aeytherite, funnel it through numerous reaction chambers and use the released energy from the reactions as output force, making them quite powerful for surprisingly low energy consumption. Much of this is due to how much energy is released from chemical reactions of Aether and common compounds.
  3. Pursuit Launchers -
    • Twenty-four slotted MIRV placements. Each MIRV containing thirty-six micro rockets. Using a custom Breaker FCS (Fire Control System) cooked up by the Surpremely God-like Heidern, each Pursuit MIRV contains a highly advanced tracking system accurate enough to hit a small coin from distances up to twelve miles away. FCS is also capable of directing each rocket to maneuver, change course and redirect to chase down evasive targets. However, the real strength of this system is that it is also intelligent enough to see through both smokescreens, chaff, and flare type counter-measures to stay on target.
  4. Powah Blasta -
    • Magnetically Accelerated Rail Cannon units which fire a molecularly compressed Ascian Alloy (to increase density) shell at incredible velocities. Each Ascian Alloy shell contains within it a powerful engine thruster (for max range acceleration) and drill tip which burrow into and through armaments and detonate a raw miasma core to devastating effect. According to Heidern, there is no armor in existence these bad boys cannot penetrate.
  5. Bewm Bewm Breaker Busta -
    • A Heidern Special. This massive cannon uses the Miasma Core and the venting system to draw in massive amounts of ambient Aether and collect it into a large reservoir, where it is excited and then directed out through the barrel, unleashing an extremely gigantic and potent blast of destructive energy towards its target. Wildly inaccurate due to the rawness of the energy, it is more of a wobbly cone or stream than a beam, making precision irrelevant. However, the output is so high, that nothing is left once hit, capable of atomizing targets instantly.
  6. Miasma Reflexive Lattice -
    • Castek defense system which, through pores in the vessels surface, exude streams of aether which form a lattice around the exterior of the vessel. This lattice prevents entry, withstands impacts and otherwise completely shields the vessel off from external forces, making it virtually impenetrable. However, as great as this defense may be, it works both ways. The vessel itself cannot fire or launch craft while the lattice is up.
  7. Heidern Drive-
  8. Wibbly Wobbly Spatial Stuff -
    • Another Heidern Signature Special. The science behind this technology is much of a mystery outside the Genius himself, and very few even understand how such a thing works. However, the greatest inventor has created a spectacular technology which can actually bend the dimensions of an area while still preserving its size. This can turn the interior of a small house into enough area to fit a city within, even if from the outside, there is no change to its dimensions. This bend of space is what allows the Yacht to contain massive habitats, each with its own unique atmosphere and conditions without altering its size or performance. Truly impressive technology.
  9. A Big Red Button -
    • Might have something to do with the Heidern Drive. However, no one knows as no one has ever pressed it. It does come with a nice, helpful warning above it though: "If Ye Gotzta Press dis, make dizaam sure ya dont give no fucks about da werld at large. Cuz it go bye bye!"

The upper level of The Menagerie is dedicated to creatures of the air. It is a beautiful domed structure that allows for either the sun or stars to illuminate the sky. You may walk into the night during the middle of the day or vice versa. It is said the magic radiating from the dome chooses its atmosphere dependent on the moods of some of its guests. Each habitat in the aviary is designed with its inhabitants in mind, providing both their favorite places to nest, to bathe, and to forage or hunt.

.:. Faejarhe Specials

Golden Veilocinch

  • Habitat: Forest
  • Number on Exhibit: Three hundred seventy eight
  • Species: Small Omnivorous Bird
  • Dimensions: 9.4 cm long and about 9 g in weight

Attributes: Although there are multiple species of Veilocinch dependent upon the habitat in which they reside, these, in particular, are of the smallest variety and choose to reside within the forests of Faejarhe. They are societal birds that live in communities numbered in the thousands, that build gourd like nests out of bones, forest foliage, and dirt. Individually these birds are pleasant enough to have around, but in larger flocks, they can be a menace. Veilocinch's have been known to completely devour herds of cattle and other herd animals when traveling in flocks of 1000 or more.

Other Species: Jungle/Forest | Onyx Veilocinch & Ocean Cliffs | Gray Veilocinch

  • Habitat: Jungle
  • Number on Exhibit: Seventy seven
  • Species: Omnivorous | Flying Reptile
  • Dimensions: 48 - 63 cm long, 60 - 67 cm wingspan, & approximately 0.4 - 0.9 kgs in weight

Attributes: Grealing are fairly docile little critters that love to fly around the plants and trees of the jungles of Faejarhe. They are incredibly free-spirited and can even be tamed as pets. Due to their amiability, they are very social and live in vast communities in the jungle treetops. As omnivores, they prefer to fast on a variety of berries, plants, and insects. An old tale tells of a community of Grealing who helped a lost child find food and shelter and kept him company until he was later rescued by his family.

  • Habitat: Crematorium
  • Number on Exhibit: Four
  • Species: Earth & Fire Elemental | Flying Stone Golem
  • Dimensions: Up to 92 cm and about 319 kg
  • Abilities: Fire | Earthen Elemental

Attributes: They were first discovered by a group of spelunkers who had gotten lost in the deep caverns of Faejarhe's mountains and ended up finding themselves deep enough below ground to find magma pools. From a distance they glow like stone lanterns, drawing in the weary and cold like moths to a flame. These volatile creatures generally attack on sight and travel in flocks of about 3-5.

Spiked Cadoat

  • Habitat: The Trenches
  • Number on Exhibit: One hundred nineteen
  • Species: Carnivorous | Poisonous | Vampire Bat
  • Dimensions: 11 - 17 cm long & 120 - 230 gm in weight
  • Abilities: Does the creature posses magical abilities?

Attributes: Oftentimes mistaken as fruit, people have been known to pluck these vicious creatures off of tree branches. During the day this is okay to do, as they fold and coil themselves into an avocado-shaped cocoon; but when night comes they transform into beautiful and voracious predators. Although they possess poor sight, they use echolocation to ensure the safety of flight as well as targeting prey. Rather than actually consuming the small animals they eat, the bite and inject them with erosive acids that assist in liquefying their insides before the Spiked Cadoat can then suck the fluids out. Although one bite cannot kill a humanoid, it can cause incredible erosive damage to the bones and flesh of the affected area. If not treated quickly, the only recommended remedy at that point is amputation or the complete removal of the affected flesh and organs.

  • Habitat: Ocean
  • Number on Exhibit: Forty three
  • Species: Omnivorous | Flying Fish
  • Dimensions: 1 - 4 m long, 3 - 6 m wingspan, & 136 - 544.3 kgs

Attributes: Gorgeon are the fish of the air when it comes to the oceans surrounding Stonehaven. Although they are in fact fish, the spend most of their time filter feeding in the sky. They can consume five times their weight in birds and insects in a single day. When first born they spend a few weeks floating in algae and seaweed beds on the surface of the ocean, before sprouting fully developed wings and joining their elders in the skies above. They can be seen by boat or by airship gliding across the skies in flocks of a hundred or more at any given time.

  • Habitat: Forest
  • Number on Exhibit: One
  • Species: Air Elemental | Phoenix
  • Dimensions: 2.6m long with a wingspan of 3.8m

Attributes: Ryseon are a rare, if ever seen, type of Phoenix in the lands of Faejarhe. Various sightings have pinpointed them as being in several locations across the continent throughout the years. Whether or not their species is endangered is currently unknown. According to Menagerie staff, this particular creature prefers to nest on the fresher soils of the open ground. Its continuous lifespan crosses a barrier of three years before molting its feather, aging rapidly, and crumbling into its nest only to be reborn from the same dirt. The dirt after its rebirth is dry and crumbly, more representative of dust than anything else.

  • Habitat: Mountains
  • Number on Exhibit: Thirteen
  • Species: Omnivorous | Horned Bird
  • Dimensions: 1.8m long & 3.4m tall

Attributes: Gooblert, with the assistance of long thickly hooked claws and talons, are excellent climbers. Using their ability to climb along with their amazing ability to hop and balance for creatures their size, they hunt and track prey in the crevices of mountainsides. They prefer small to medium sized rodents depending on what they are able to catch. Although they make great birds of prey their beak size tends to hinder their ability to reach in, grasp, and drag prey out from behind/under tight places. That being said, compared to males, females have more slender beaks and are more often than not the main hunters in Goobleret mating couples. The male generally remains by the nest to guard it and their eggs if any at the time, from other hungry Goobleret that may come along looking for an easy meal.

Dusk Moth

  • Habitat: Various
  • Number on Exhibit: Two thousand
  • Species: Carrion Moth
  • Dimensions: Wingspan of 8.9cm to 12.2cm wide
  • Abilities: Wild Magic

Attributes: As the sun sets in its nightly cradle it is not uncommon to see the flickering of thousands of blue eyes on the failing horizon. These are known as Dusk Moths, more luminescent at dusk than any other time of day. Believed to be due to their spending the entire day feeding on carrion and other decaying forms of matter. Thus giving their bodies and wings the energy to glow by evening. Dusk Moths always disappear at night to realms unknown only to return again when the sun completely breaks over the horizon. In some cultures throughout Faejarhe it is believed that if one consumes enough Dusk Moth wings, they will gain the ability to see into Terrestria to commune with lost loved ones. There is also a superstition that these are the lost souls of the lands of Terrestria, coming to feed on the dead and carry them into the afterlife.

  • Habitat: Mountains
  • Number on Exhibit: Sixty five
  • Species: Poisonous | Flying Reptile
  • Dimensions:  wing span of approx. 4.2 - 6.1m, weight around 180 -367kgs
  • Abilities: They spit a viscous neurotoxic acid into the eyes of their prey.

Attributes: This flying lizard is from the warmer areas of the Faejarhe mountains as well as the more oceanic cliff rocks. Dilophokrin are incredibly territorial and prefer to live in couplings rather than in flocks. Once they mate they mate until death. If one mate should die before the other, the widow/er tosses themselves from the rocky face of their home to their imminent death. Scientists remain amazed by this emotional and physical bond between mates and continue to study it. Believing there is a deeper soul tied connection of one dilophokrin to another. Despite this occurrence between mates, it is not unheard of for these creatures to consume their prey in times of low food, sickness, and weakness. Once the young can fly from the nest they are alone in the world until they can procure their own mating. This is done in an extremely dangerous display of dancing where their entire body, as well as their ability to blind their opponents, take the spotlight.

  • Location: Various
  • Number on Exhibit: Thirteen
  • Species: Flying Ray
  • Dimensions: 9.1 - 12.2 m long, with a 'wingspan' of 2.9 - 5.8 m
  • Abilities: Skin and organs negate the effects of Trapar Energy.

Attributes: Streamers are named for the sight rendered when being gazed upon from far distances and are often mistaken for thick waves of Trapar energy. They reside in the air and feed on the energy produced by Trapar waves. Not too much is known about Streamers, other than they are born, live within, and die in the Trapar waves. And just like the Trapar energy, are incredibly dangerous. Their bodies can consume and filter the Trapar energy, and the byproduct of doing so is toxic to other species. Breathing it in renders the respiratory system paralyzed where victims usually perish from severe hypoxia.

.:. Specimens from around the World

  • Habitat: Forest
  • Number on exhibit: Twenty-eight hundred
  • Species: Poisonous | Butterfly
  • Dimensions: Wingspan of 5.8cm to 10.1cm wide

Special Attributes: Celestia are the butterflies of Renovatio. Carrying the strength and devastating tales of their people. It is rumored that Celestia were born at the fall of the great arks. With each ark that was destroyed, a new breed of Celestia exploded into the world. Each wing embued with the celestial powers from whence they originated. As beautiful and glowing as the stars as Celestia may be, they are very poisonous. Contact with the wings is dangerous, as their fragility proves to be deadly. The powder holding their power and giving them their color and glow can very easily be knocked from the skeletons of their wings, and a single brush against the skin could mean death for an unwary victim.

  • Location on the Map: Cities and Lands of Renovatio.

  • Habitat: Forest
  • Number on Exhibit: one hundred thousand
  • Species: Carnivorous | Tiny Insectoid
  • Dimensions: 1.0 cm

Special Attributes: In swarms, these creatures can infest and eat other living beings from the inside out.

  • Location on the Map: Broken Plains & Whitewood of Yh'mi, Lagrimosa

  • Habitat: Can be found throughout the Menagerie
  • Number on Exhibit: Nineteen thousand
  • Species: Modified Bombyliade | Sentient Flying Insect
  • Dimensions: 0.2M Tall | 0.4kg (0.8lbs) | 0.5M Wide with 30cm Wingspan

Special Attributes: Beeflies are special sentient creatures that have the ability to communicate through a form of telepathy that isn't restricted to one person hearing it. They are highly intelligent and can have a full conversation with somebody, much like a human being. All Beeflies have the natural telekinetic ability to move very small objects such as soda cans and small rocks. Depending on their fur color, beeflies have different elemental abilities they can control. They also give off a strong aura that assists in placing the creatures and beings around them at ease. They possess the extreme regenerative ability that allows them to regenerate their limbs and as well as different parts of their body in just a few weeks time. Beeflies enjoy fasting on a variety of sweets during the day to help keep their energy levels as high as possible.

These creatures are very friendly and helpful to the staff of the Menagerie and can often time be found following guests around while holding lengthy discussions about their adventures. They tend to be very loyal companions to the beings and creatures they meet and care for.

  • Location on the World Map: All across the world of Valucre

Caementum Aucupor

  • Habitat: Mountain
  • Number on Exhibit: Seven
  • Species: Gargoyles | Sentient Stone
  • Dimensions: 1.8 - 4.6 m tall & 317.5 - 589.7 kgs

Special Attributes: They have high pitch screech that resonates with water and induces paralysis in humans and most animals. It is believed that Gaia has blessed them or cursed them against their inability to either wield or be affected by earthen elemental magic.

  • Location on the World Map: Endangered in the wilds of Lagrimosa

  • Habitat: Jungle
  • Number on Exhibit: ninety-seven
  • Species: Vampiric | Tiny Bird
  • Dimensions: 5 - 9cm long and weighing under 2g

Special Attributes: Developed by the mad mind of one Heretic Dolos, these creatures were an experiment of science. But as rumors may state, Heretic enjoyed the company of these little creatures. Creating them in his own image to fast on the blood of the living. Like their vampiric predecessors, Hemoeng are generally seen at night, even seen at all. Their lightweight frames, speed of flight, and small size tend to make them nearly perfect predators. Although being stung and fed on by one doesn't seem too terrifying, having hundreds of them attack together is an entirely different nightmare to be faced. It takes approximately twenty Hemoeng to change a child into a preternatural creature of their ilk. Studies on larger humans have not yet been engaged due to multiple ethical and moral implications.

  • Location on the World Map: Amalia and its surrounding lands, in Lagrimosa

Lunar Spiritfly

  • Habitat: Forest
  • Number on Exhibit: Three - Blue;  One hundred and six - Cream
  • Species: Magical | Insectoid
  • Dimensions: 15.24 - 30.5 cm long & 0.13 -0.5 kgs in weight

Special Attributes: Crystals from the Lunar Spiritfly can be harvested if one can be captured, and stored in a glass bauble. The harvested crystals will continue to cast its eerie light for several hours after harvesting. It is said that the light from a moonbow can re-charge the crystals once if gathered properly.

  • Location on the World Map: In the Dark Woods of Lagrimosa

  • Habitat: Forest
  • Number on Exhibit: Seventy
  • Species: Small Dragon
  • Dimensions: 1.2 - 3.9 m long & 9 - 23 kgs in weight

Special Attributes: These small dragons are fairly light in weight compared to their long bodies and wide wingspans that can cover approximately seven to eight metes. More than likely due to the hollowness of their bones, and their insect diets. Spriggen are generally docile and tend to stay away from human species. A fairly shy creature it can more often than not be founding hiding in trees or against rocks. Their light pastel colors made it easy for them to blend into certain areas, so that is where they prefer to hang out. Spriggen breed during the fall season, and are seen in flocks of thousands resembling a tornado. The entirety of their species gathers together in these enormous swirling cones to procure breeding rights over one another. It is not uncommonly for a spriggen to have multiple mates as they're are very sociable among their own kind.

  • Location on the World Map: The lands of Oo'xora, in Renovatio.

Wooly Bugs

  • Habitat: Plains
  • Number on Exhibit: Fifty nine
  • Species: Herbivore | Mamalian Insectoid
  • Dimensions: approximately 60 - 76.2 cm diameter when un-sheared & with a wingspan of approximately 17.3 cm

Special Attributes: More often than not these very fluffy creatures are mistaken for miniature clouds due to the amount of wool covering their bodies. During certain seasons of the year, the people of Ursa Madeum catch, shear, and release these little buggers to fashion magically imbued articles of clothing.

  • Location on the World Map: The Free Marches of Ursa Madeum in Lagrimosa. [May also be found all around the world of Valucre.]

Adam Hulbert

  • Habitat: Jungle | Forest
  • Number on Exhibit: Four
  • Species: Earth Elemental | Giant Land Bird
  • Dimensions: 30 m tall & 771.3 kgs in weight

Special Attributes: Although these creatures are relatively grounded in terms of winged birds, they are still able to use their short wings to help them glide. Their immense size and length of leg making them miraculous leapers. Feathered greenly in the same matter most trees are leaved, their plumage makes for the perfect camouflage. More often than not travelers do not see these creatures until it is much too late, as they assume their legs are the trunks of trees. Able to wield the element of earth, Teralomis are able to call upon the foliage around them for assistance in capturing their meals should they attempt to run.

  • Location on the World Map: The can be found scattered throughout the jungles and forests of Genesaris.

  • Habitat: Crematorium
  • Number on Exhibit: One
  • Species: Magical | Phoenix
  • Dimensions: 2.4 m long with a wingspan of 4.3 m

Special Attributes: This species of Phoenix is considered to be the heralds of war. It is said that many decades ago these creatures were born from the fires and blood of the dead during the great war between The Great North and the Cold south. History tells of beautiful birds mimicking the colors of Shrine City's flag, gliding onto the battlefield to collect the souls of their departed soldiers, carrying them into the next life, before disappearing in clouds of ash. These creatures are rare and beautiful specimens that toe the line between the land of the living and the world of the dead and lost.

  • Location on the World Map: During wartime, the battlefields of the Cold South in Genesaris.

From torrential rain forests to dehydrated deserts, up to mountains that threaten to pierce the sky...is the Highlands. A vividly varying landscape dedicated to those species that dwell on, around, and under the earthen surface of the planet. One moment a visitor may be standing peacefully on the crest of a hill looking out over the open grasslands at a group of Nibbebuns, then they take a step to the left or right and suddenly find themselves in the forest facing a group of Chhitten.

.:. Faejarhe Specials

  • Habitat: Marshy Forest
  • Number on Exhibit: Ten
  • Species: Herbivore| Moose/Elk
  • Dimensions: 1.8 - 2.3 m tall & 340 - 420 kgs in weight
  • Abilities: Manipulation of Electricity

Attributes: The most interesting aspects of these creatures are their ability to attract lightning. The bone tips of their horns are very similar to the structure of steel and absorb and release electrical currents at the will of the Eldigar wielding it.

  • Habitat: Jungle
  • Number on Exhibit: One female & One male
  • Species: Carnivorous | Hydra
  • Dimensions: 4.6 - 5.3 m long & 30 - 70 kgs
  • Abilities: Earth Elemental

Attributes: Hydraxean are an endangered species in Faejarhe, which make them very rare and hard to find. The best place to see them is in a protected habitat within the Babel Conservatory or here with us in the Menagerie. Due to their size, Hydraxean were hunted down for sport like monsters. Like most hydra, they have multiple heads, they are also quadrupedal, and have long whip-like tails. These creatures are extremely dangerous in the wild. Long thing venomous fangs protrude from the top and bottom of their three mouths, and long flickering tongues slide from between them to grab prey and pull them in. One bite from a Hydraxean can cause instant paralysis, respiratory failure, and even death if not treated immediately.

Scaled Mongoose

  • Habitat: Marshes
  • Number on Exhibit: Seventeen
  • Species: Omnivorous | Rodent
  • Dimensions: 34 - 68 cm long & up to 7 kgs
  • Abilities: Armored Back; from nose to tail tip.

Attributes: Scaled mongoose are interesting creatures since when threatened, they curl their bodies into a tightly coiled ball of armored scales that have razor sharp edges. This deters larger predators from attempting to eat and choke to death on them. They live quiet and solitary lives up until mating season when they seek out temporary companionship only in order to reproduce. More often than not they can be found scavenging for food like smaller rodents, fish, and berries out in the marshlands.

  • Habitat: Jungle
  • Number on Exhibit: Eleven
  • Species: Herbivore | Giant Insectoid
  • Dimensions: 142 - 163 cm tall, 102 - 133 cm long, & 675 - 1013 kgs in weight

Attributes: These large and docile creatures travel in the jungles of Faejarhe in herds of up to seven, living off of the nectar from the many small and large flowers the area provides. There have been several sightings by environmental scientists, of a  tribe of what they've named Silfelings[1] that have not only tamed but also ride the Bloomeaters like pack-animals.

  • Habitat: Grasslands
  • Number on Exhibit: One thousand
  • Species: Quadrupedal Insectoid | Wingless Ponyhopper
  • Dimensions: 25 - 45 mm long & 15 -22 mm tall

Attributes: Similar to their winged brethren, Malkiat swarm in large numbers to eat grass and reproduce before the end of their short lives [1 year]. It is not surprising when viewing these creatures, to find the Fae riding them around like miniature horses as they like using them for games of Snails & Tails[2]. Malkiat can hop nearly 6 meters straight into the air or propel themselves 8 meters across an open space.

  • Habitat: Marshes
  • Number on Exhibit: Eight
  • Species: Carnivorous | Large Lynx
  • Dimensions: 4.3 - 5.2 m long nose to tip of tail & 318 - 384 kgs
  • Abilities: Water Elemental

Attributes: These lithe and silent creatures are the crown jewel when it comes to apex predators in Faejarhe. They are very intelligent and observant hunters and can spend days following their prey from the shadows in order to choose the best moment in which to attack, kill, and devour them. The usually spend their time in marshy areas but have also been found hunting in the jungles and forests. The most interesting information known about them thus far is that they can manipulate water as they see fit, both offensively and defensively depending on the situation.

  • Habitat: Grasslands
  • Number on Exhibit: Ninety two
  • Species: Rabbit | Omnivorous
  • Dimensions: 24 - 30 cm from nose to tail & 400-600 grams in weight
  • Abilities: Wild Magic

Attributes: Believed to be distant cousins of the wild magic rabbits in the Wilds of Lagrimosa these small-sized rodents have earned their name by being very cute and cuddly nibblers, but don't let them fool you. These creatures are filled to the brim with wild magic and can cause large amounts of elemental damage when startled. It is hard to say which element each Nibbebun has as each encounter is usually unique; unless it happens to be reforming the nature around it in some way. They can travel alone or in groups when foraging for food. Their food being wild berries, various plant life, and insects.

  • Habitat: Coastal
  • Number on Exhibit: Twenty seven
  • Species: Carnivorous | Crocodile
  • Dimensions: 4 - 6 m long & 600 - 900 kgs
  • Abilities: Incredible Strength, Endurance, & Speed

Attributes: Large and in charge, are the beasts basking on the rocks along the islands southernmost beaches. This area tends to be off limit due to the number of attacks by Wyegarr that have recently been recorded. They charge without care or thought and are absolutely ferocious both on land and in the water. They have powerful hind legs ending in lengthy clawed toes and a thick tail to help propel them across both land and water.

  • Habitat: The Trenches
  • Number on Exhibit: Sixteen
  • Species: Carnivorous | Small Cave Dragon
  • Dimensions: 91.4 - 153.6 cm long from snout to tail tip & weigh 45.2 -73.1 kgs
  • Abilities: Chromatophoric Scales, Thermoception, & Tremor Sense

Attributes: Dreki dwell in the underground caverns and trenches of Faejarhe's mountains and oceanic cliff areas, and are the master hunters of these realms. Although they are small for a dragon, they still have equivalent ferocity. Dreki are able to kill prey very easily and more often than not do not have to hunt down their meals. This in part, is due to their scales having the ability to match the background they are in, in order to camouflage it. So it is not unusual for prey to accidentally find themselves walking straight into the open mouth of a hungry Dreki. When necessary, and having to hunt for food, they do so by both seeking heat signatures and by feeling the vibrations of the ground and water around them. Their diets mainly consist of rodents, fish, and unwary humanoids. Their population is relatively large but is singularly dependent on the amount of sustenance available to them, which can vary from spring through winter.

  • Habitat: Forest
  • Number on Exhibit: Three
  • Species: Herbivore | Sloth
  • Dimensions: 60 - 80 cm long & 3.6 - 7.7 kgs
  • Abilities: Sweat a thick milky-white substance that can be used for oral suspension medications. Helps heal fevers, hallucinations, and confusion.

Attributes: These slow creatures can be found in the treetops of forests and very rarely move out of a tree once they've made it their home. If they do move it takes them quite a while to get from one tree to another as they are not speedy creatures. Their appendages are long and tail-like, and they wrap them around branches and tree trunks in order to hold on. Letidýr also have beak like mouths that assist them in cracking tree nuts, stripping bark from trees, and cutting away branches covered in leaves so they can be consumed.

Image result for fire spider

  • Habitat: Desert | Wasteland
  • Number on Exhibit: Nine
  • Species: Carnivorous | Large Lynx
  • Dimensions: 5.7 - 7.8 m long nose to tip of tail & 396 - 452 kgs

Special Attributes: If one were to come across destructive terraforming in progress across the wild lands of Kalopsia, there is a good chance they will find a Feirynx at the apex. These creatures are incredibly large wild cats that have blended elemental ability. What is known about these creatures is little. Particularly solitary, they keep to their own territories. Their breeding and social habits are a curious unknown for such a large animal. More often than not sightings of these beasts are accidental. Every once in a while when one male crosses his boundaries with that of another, a fierce battle commences as one teaches the other lesson. As this fight ensues the natural elements of fire and earth combine and erupt to create large molten craters that eventually cool and dry, leaving behind varying forms of igneous and volcanic rock.

  • Location on the World Map: Lands of Kalopsia, in Renovatio.

  • Habitat: Forest
  • Number on Exhibit: Eigthy nine
  • Species: Rodent | Various Immunities
  • Dimensions: 2.8 - 3.3kgs and about 29.7 - 38.4cm long from tip of nose to base of the tail.

Special Attributes: These rodent-like creatures are natural burrowers. Whether it be rock, tree, or building. They are an omnivorous species known to inhabit areas close to cities, without completely invading city dwellings. They are a structural and foundational menace to certain areas and buildings. Being very hardy, immune to a vast array of diseases, infections, and toxins, they are known to survive almost any type of poison thrown at them. Despite their ability to breed en masse, they keep their communities pretty neat and tidy for such a troublesome bunch. Drawn to cities more by the food than the people, it is not odd to find random holes in homes or shops where food is consistently stored or sold.

  • Location on the World Map: Lands surrounding the Cities of Lagrimosa.

  • Habitat: Forest
  • Number on exhibit: Three
  • Species: Omnivorous | Rhinoceros
  • Dimensions: 1.5 - 2 m long & approximately 1,000 - 200 kgs

Special Attributes: Natural camouflage due to the flowers and plants they grow on different portions of its body.

  • Location on the World Map: The lands of Taen in the wilds of Lagrimosa

White Wolves

  • Habitat: Tundra
  • Number on Exhibit: Five
  • Species: Carnivorous | Wolf
  • Dimensions: 130 - 185 cm in length, 95 - 100 cm in shoulder height, & 80 - 113 kgs in weight

Special Attributes: Incredibly strong, fast, and stealthy beasts able to blend in with their chilling surroundings like predatory ghosts. They are usually hunted by the youth of Southern soldier's in a show of maturity and strength of will to survive the harsh realities and climates of their land.

  • Location on the World Map: In the lands of the Cold South of Genesaris

Unicorn of Althentha

  • Habitat: Travels through all exhibits at her leisure.
  • Number on Exhibit: One; aptly name Wilda[3] by the Fae staff-members.
  • Species: Omnivorous | One Horned Horse
  • Dimensions: 218.3 cm tall, 4.7 m long &  1,782.1 kgs in weight

Special Attributes: Teleportation & Wild Magic | Wilda hails from an energy encompassed by darkness and evil, but has yet to show any signs of dealing in the same dark magic of her homeland. In fact she is quite the opposite. Although she can be a menace in the way of running loose and pulling all sorts of magical tricks on visitors and staff, Wilda is a bright addition to the Menagerie.

  • Location on the World Map: Wilds of Athentha in Elendaron of Renovatio

  • Habitat: Desert
  • Number on Exhibit: Fifteen
  • Species: Hard-shelled Camel
  • Dimensions: 1.8 - 2 m tall, 399.1 - 603.3 kg in weight

Special Attributes: Caramel are from the hot deserts of Kalopsia. Their evolutionary chain is unknown but is believed to be comprised of some adaptive reptilian DNA. These tall and relatively large creatures are nearly drought resistant. As ever portion of their hardened body is akin to a water tank. Where Caramel can survive for months out in the desert without needing to take a single drink of water to replenish their stores. These are the animals of the people, used for long treks, or chosen by desert dwelling nomadic tribes choosing to live oasis to oasis rather than in larger city communities. In desperate times, Caramel are known to be sacrificed for the betterment of these nomadic tribes, when water sources are scarce. Although the meat and milk produced by these creatures is toxic, the water stored is said to be extremely pure.

  • Location on the World Map: The Deserts of Kalopsia, in Renovatio.

The Garden

Placed in this level, are mostly plants that lie outside of the realm of 'natural'. Genetically engineered, magicked, or otherwise. More often than not, a specimen of an acutely violent nature is brought to the Menagerie. These specimens are placed behind specialty barriers-lest any damages be incurred by wandering bodies-in order to protect curious onlookers from physically engaging them while being illuminated by their otherworldly presence.

.:. Faejarhe Specials

  • Climate | Habitat: Tropical | Jungle
  • Species: Carnivorous | Giant Venus Flytrap

Special Attributes: Flybark are notorious for preying on creatures residing in the forests and jungles of Faejarhe. The more they consume, the larger they get. The teeth lining their ovular mouths are sharp, but the more dangerous portion of them is within their plant-like mouth. The necrotic juices used to break down flesh and bone are paralytic and incredibly deteriorative.

  • Climate | Habitat: Cold, Humid, & Dark | The Trenches
  • Species: Magical | Fungi

Special Attributes: These particular fungi are named after the light in which they bloom (balloon). Their growth cycles are dependent solely on moonlight, and can generally be seen for longer periods of time during differing solstices. Their main bulb rests within webs of chitin that keep it from floating away from their bases. Their spores, when emitted twinkle like stars in a black blanketed sky. And can float as far as the wind will carry them. They retain special attributes linked to the moonlight and darkness that touches Faejarhe. And several accounts have been told that they have given people night vision, hallucinations, and extremely lucid dreams.

  • Climate | Habitat: Warm Weather | Forest & Plains
  • Species: Flowering Gourds

Special Attributes: Mostly hollow plants that can be used to carry water and other objects. During the spring season, the gourdite are known to sprout various and brightly colored flowers. Different species of gourdite possess different species of flowers that are not genetically linked to the actual gourdite plants themselves. They are believed to live in a state of symbiosis with one another that is not yet understood. Many travelers tend to use these plants, plucked from the ground, to drink water from any nearby water sources. Which is actually beneficial to the reproduction of the plant, as they are asexual and their pieces once discarded are able to continue rooting and growing in other areas.

  • Climate | Habitat: Various| Forest
  • Species: Mobile Wooden Vine

Special Attributes: Gimlets are a special type of vining plant in that they do not produce leaves or flowers and are essentially ropes of twisted wood. They generally hand from trees but at times they like to move from one tree to the next and do so by uprooting themselves and moving to a more preferable area. There are varying species of Gimlet in Faejarhe, these particular ones are known for their giant ruby like pustules that grow in different gaps between the twisted vines. It is believed that these bulbous portions of Gimlet can be harvested in order to assist with magical spells and technology dependent on the color.

Bulbous Yucca

  • Climate | Habitat: Warm Weather | Plains
  • Species: Water Elemental | Cactus

Special Attributes: Bulbous yucca are a delicacy of the people in Khaznah as they are abundant, cheap, and notorious for providing these lower level people the pleasure of detachment from their current reality. Bulbous yucca use the water and elements of the earth that they absorb for nutrients, into a gelatinous substance that they store within each bulb lining the bark of their trunks. This gelatin can be used as a binding agent as well as a base for multiple addictive mind-altering drugs across Faejarhe and Valucre. Not only that they do hold special healing properties associated with the element of water, to whom those of such ability are generally immune. Most water elementalists cannot use products made by bulbous yucca as they do not really do anything for them.

  • Climate | Habitat:  Throughout the Menagerie
  • Species: Magical | Floating Flower

Special Attributes: The beautiful bouncing and floating flowers of Khaznah. It would be expected that such a gorgeous plant would inhabit the nation's capital, but these plants tell as a very sad tale.  Believed to be a contribution of the Babel's R&D department with the birth of it's new leader. Rumor, however, dictates that these plants are in fact just a form of dandelion coming from a much larger plant that has yet to be seen. Although there are no reports of this, Dr. Concordia has yet to contradict these beliefs and statements. As the sun rises, one might notice a twinkle of red light being reflected off the center of these plants as they dance around in the air waving their streamer like tendrils in the wind. Almost like they are communicating with one another on some imperceivable level. Close examination may render many a question and reveal many a truth.

Rock Fruit

  • Climate | Habitat: Humid | Marsh
  • Species: Magical | Stone Fungi

Special Attributes: Rock fruit are not exactly a fruit, but more a sentient form of fungi that can use their pseudo-feet to move around. They are also not entirely sentient as they do not communicate so much as scatter in the presence of any other life than their own. As fungi, they prefer to feast on decaying matter but have been known to attack living species via their spores. When this happens it can invade the neurological system and place the animal/person in a permanently vegetative state until they perish and are consumed by the Rock Fruit offspring.

  • Climate | Habitat: Cold  | Mountains
  • Species: Fungi

Special Attributes: Gumdrops are aptly named for their bubblegum pink coloring and their very sticky texture. These small fungi prefer cold arid places and have a tendency to transport themselves by becoming stuck to the fur, skin, or clothing of other more mobile animals. Their gumminess holds great use in the making of multiple types of adhesives like glue, tape, and bandages. And that strength of adhesion varies depending on the amount of gumdrop used. In some cases overindulgence can cause a very lengthy adhesion as strong as welded steel.

  • Climate | Habitat: Various | Saltwater
  • Species: Poisonous | Aquatic Plant

Special Attributes: Like a nest full of pearls, these plants draw people in for a better look. Pearla are not as fragile as they appear to be and when fish or animals get too close, the sensory perception of these plants causes them to explode similarly to a landmine. It begins this process by twisting the base of the bowl very tightly, closing the pearls from view as the upper tendrils wrap down. In the end, these actions provide a springing effect when it suddenly unravels. The upper portions of the tendrils flatten from the base at a 90-degree angle and while the base uncoils and springs upwards, it shoots the pearls through the water. On contact, these pearls burst into clouds of viscous ink-like fluid that can blind and disorient whatever disturbed it. More often than not they can be found in the seas surrounding Faejarhe in small uninhabited temptingly glowing underwater fields.

Brackleberry Bush

  • Climate | Habitat: Various | Plains, Forest, Wasteland
  • Species: Berry Bush

Special Attributes: Bushes that grow throughout Faejarhe that are covered in prickly brackles and reddish-orange brackleberries. These berries are a favorite of a multitude of rodents and are a bitter mouth puckering flavor when consumed by humans. Although they are edible by animals, it is not a recommended meal for the human species. Eating and handful or two doesn't do too much outside of discoloring a person's skin, the berry juice having been absorbed into the bloodstream at this point. It is considered to be more of an annoyance than anything else. Faejarhe children tend to make treats and teas out of these in order to prank people. Some people believe they have cleansing qualities and make poultices, tinctures, and powdered medicines out of them to draw out poisons and toxins.

.:. Specimens from around the World

Wintersbreath Roses

  • Climate | Habitat: Winter | Tundra
  • Species: Rose

Special Attributes: A crystalline-petaled vining plant known to grow on the walls of the castle in Shrine City.

  • Location on the World Map: Shrine City  of Genesaris

Fahrenheit Varuna

  • Climate | Habitat:  Summer | Wasteland
  • Species: Tree

Special Attributes: Despite their lavish beauty, these trees can withstand immensely high temperatures without so much as wilting a leaf on their branches.

  • Location on the World Map: Lands of Lyonesse in Athentha of Elendaron in Renovatio

  • Climate | Habitat:  Spring | Forest
  • Species: Flower

Special Attributes: These small shaped flowers move to a concerto that only they can feel, swaying and dancing of their own accord without the assistance of a breeze.

  • Location on the World Map: The city and lands of Umbra in the Aracane East of Genesaris

Edafos Oplopanax Pagis

  • Climate | Habitat:  Tropical | Jungle
  • Species: Terrestrial Vine

Special Attributes: Rarely seen and unfriendly forest inhabitant. Technically a terrestrial vine, Edafos uses cleverly browned edges and cracked skin to masquerade as a dying arboreal vine. On the ground, it uses flexion and contraction to shift loose sand and earth, forming a pit, in a method similar to the trapdoor spider. Its ends dangle into the pit and, when its unwitting victim steps on the seemingly 'dead' vine and falls into its trap, typically the entire length of the vine falls atop it. From that point, Edafos' significant thorns (measuring upward of 4" when mature) puncture its victim and the vine attempts, again through its unique flexion and contraction mechanisms, to further ensnare its victim. Escape is possible but extremely painful, and the long-term effects of Edafos' thorns are unknown.

  • Location on the World Map: Jungles of Amalia in the Wilds of Lagrimosa.

Snap Dragon

  • Climate | Habitat:  Tropical | Jungle
  • Species: Carnivorous | Magical | Flower

Special Attributes: While it looks like a dragon, the Snap Dragon is actually a magical flower. No one is quite sure how it got this way, but the Snap Dragon has gained a small amount of sentience; the very core of its blossom has become a head that resembles a dragon's-hence its name-and it has the ability to move its stem and branches and control it like a body. However, it cannot physically move locations, as it is still rooted into the ground like a normal plant. It also has the ability to "exhale" a small cloud of acid that it uses to burn and blind nearby small creatures so that it can snatch them up and devour them.

  • Location on the World Map: In special conservatories around the world of Valucre as well as here in our Garden, as its originating continent is no longer of this world. The lost land of Iselyr.

Zoe Lily

  • Climate | Habitat:  Tyrean/Oceanic | Tidal pool
  • Species: Magical | Aquatic Flower

Special Attributes: Extracts of this plant are known to have magical qualities in healing and curing disease, but it remains among the rarest of plants in all of Valucre, found only on the secret rainbowfin island lost in the fogs of the Tyrean sea.

  • Location on the World Map: Tyrean sea north of Genesaris

  • Climate | Habitat:  Desert | Wasteland
  • Species: Spiked Jumping Flower

Special Attributes: More often than not Spryfyre are a variety of colors ranging from yellow to red, which parallels their affinity to the element of fire. As with any species there are always exceptions to the rule. Unlike rooted plants, Spryfyre possess the ability to uproot and spring themselves around any area when threatened. Whether triggered by emotion or physical disturbance, their reactions are oftentimes painful and result in severe trauma and/or death. The tips of each root are adorned with poisonous thorns they can use to stab and dart their targets with. Although they cannot pinpoint a target, their speed makes up for that. More often viewed as a normal blooming plant they are able to catch their victims off guard.

  • Location on the World Map: They say these plants followed the eldritch horrors as they entered the world. Whispernight City Ruins in Genesaris.

Loltra Weed

  • Climate | Habitat:  Oceanic | The Depths
  • Species: Aquatic Plant

Special Attributes: The Loltra Weed is a saltwater plant that only grows in the bay of Aelindra City. Beneath the watery surface, it can grow thickly and rapidly, sometimes ensnaring sea life as well as those brave enough to swim too far out towards the ocean from the beach. It is said that the excess energy of Exalta crystals have impacted the growth and biology of these plants. But even as seamless the bond between Magic and Technology is in Aelindra, some beg to differ on the cause of the obstructive aquatic plant. BUT it is agreeable to both parties, that this plant is something of a magical anomaly, and can give one an elemental affinity for water.

  • Location on the World Map: Bay of Aelindra City in the land of Genesaris

Dung Daisy

  • Climate | Habitat:  Temperate | Grasslands
  • Species: Fungi

Special Attributes: Grown by the warmth of dung and the faint glow of sunshine below the tall waves of grass in the Midlands. These small fungi sprout from the dung of infected wild bovine and equine that travel through the grassy plains. They are tiny tube-like growths with a little petal encircled bubble bulb that resembles a water droplet.

When agitated/jostled from its still state, the bulb pops. The first thing someone would notice is the stench of decay it produces, seconds before the onset of symptoms. If the spores from this fun-guy are inhaled or ingested, you're going to have a very, very, very, bad day. Probably even your last.

Once in the body, the toxins begin to take effect, causing severe hallucinations, moderate seizures, and coma. No, you won't die right away, but keep this in mind... While in a coma, the body and mind begin to degrade from the inside out, until death occurs. The only cure known is another toxin found in the blood of a Chrysalis Spider.

  • Location on the World Map: The Midlands of Genesaris.

  • Climate | Habitat:  Temperate | Grasslands
  • Species: Achene Plant

Special Attributes: Commonly named "blowballs" and "cloud-pollen", puffclovers are flowering plants that reach maturity and wither away at an alarming rate. Known to bloom only for 2-3 hours before losing their petals, the flowerheads contain single-seed fruits named, giving puffclovers their trademark appearance. Each achene is attached to a pappus of fine hairs which enable wind-aided dispersal over distances as far as 100 miles. The puffclover is invasive, making up for short lifespan with its form of pollination, and has become widespread across all of Valucre.

  • Location on the World Map: Originating in the Blue Hills of Lagrimosa and has since spread across all of Valucre.

What would someone give to reach the abyss? Begging the question, ‘How low will you go?’ The Depths may be able to answer that. Unlike the Aviary, The Depths display monsters of the deep. Whether from oceans, lakes, ponds, or puddles. And there are just enough on display for guests to get their feet wet for the first time....or the last.

.:. Faejarhe Specials

  • Habitat: Saltwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Five
  • Species: Crustacean | Omnivorous
  • Dimensions: Carapace 120 cm, leg span 73 cm, weight 62 kg. They exhibit sexual dimorphism, in that the males of the species have one claw that is much longer than the other, where females generally have two similar sized claws.

Attributes: These immensely sized arthropods dwell anywhere from 117 meters below the ocean surface all the way up to crawling around on land. More often than not a run in with one will cause injury or death, due to their being very territorial creatures and their inability to differentiate between food and nonfood items. Despite their poor sight, Iyronites are very accurate hunters in that they use vibrations in the water around them as well as beneath their claws to determine the location of their prey. In addition to fasting on algae and salt water plans, their prey may include other Iyronites, fish, and sea animals.

  • Habitat: Various
  • Number on Exhibit: Three
  • Species: Giant Legged Snail
  • Dimensions: 1.2–1.8 m and weigh about 200–2,000 kg

Attributes: These giant docile creatures are used by port towns and cities for farming. This type of farming includes mollusks used for consumption, resale, and pearl and shell farming. Snalorts have the unique ability to blow tiny and strong bubbles into certain sizes of mollusk that help to pop them open. Not only that, as consumers of seaweed, their manure feeds the mollusks those nutrients vital to help them grow. Divers also like to use them both as steeds and anchors when entering the ocean so that they can stay under longer without rising back to the surface or being carried away by undercurrents.

Ivory Pisces

  • Habitat: Freshwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Fifty eight
  • Species: Amphibious | Omnivorous
  • Dimensions: Their weight varies considerably from 2.7 to 4.4kgs, with males being larger than females; males average 80 - 90 cm in total length, while females average 67  cm.
  • Abilities: With the help of the angler lure protruding from the frontal portion of their skulls, they are able to generate as well as manipulate light in order to better hunt prey in deeper areas of the lake.

Attributes: Ivory Pisces can be found in the lakes located centrally throughout the island. These small creatures are very social and prefer to live in communities with numbers ranging from 70 to 100, where they build large mud mounds in the shallow waters that rim the inner edge of lakes.  Their diets consist of a large variety of underwater plant life, crustaceans, and fish.

  • Habitat: Freshwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Eight
  • Species: Predatory | Shark
  • Dimensions: 3.5 - 4 m long, and a weight of 263 - 317 kgs.

Attributes: Damta, meaning teeth, is an accurate label for these aquatic predators. As the only thing creatures generally see before their imminent demise are rows upon rows of long sharp meat tearing teeth. They can be found in both shallow and deep rivers, and even in lakes. Believed to have evolved from similar species located in the oceans, these Damta are capable of surviving in fresh and even brackish water areas. Damta are incredibly aggressive creatures that sense prey via vibrations in the water up to 50m away. It is not unusual for fisherman and extreme hunters to wear their teeth as jewelry, to show their dominance over the species. More often than not though, survival in a collision against one is minimal. Damta are incredibly territorial and have a tendency to attack anything invading their space and have a habit of consuming nearly anything they bite.

  • Habitat: Freshwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Thirty six
  • Species: Amphibian
  • Dimensions: 34 - 39 cm long and about 1.4 - 2.3kgs in weight.
  • Abilities: Psionic | Blind

Attributes: Croakers are an interesting form of amphibian that do not have eyes yet are able to see. They hunt and attack prey in large numbers because they are relatively small for such an apex predator. Named for the sounds they use to communicate with one another,  a variety of crackling clicks and croaks, en masse they are very boisterous. Some people like to catch them, using cattle or other farmed animals as bait to lure them, spear them, and then eat them. Where they lack eyes, under their slimy flesh, rest ovular glands that produce specialty hormones that take the placement of their sight. When in large numbers they are able to reach out into the surrounding waters to feel and sense enemies and prey. When these glands are eaten they are said to give the consumer eventual permanently irreversible blindness.

  • Habitat: Saltwater
  • Number on Exhibit: One hundred & two
  • Species: Poisonous | Jellyfish
  • Dimensions: Approximately 2.54 cm in diameter, with a possible tendril length of 0.75cm when bundled and 2m when unraveled.
  • Abilities: Paralytic | Toxic

Attributes:  These creatures pack a very dangerous and sizeable bite for being so teeny tiny. This is because Kandji have explosively extending tentacles thinner than the breadth of hair lined with thousands of tiny barb-like teeth. These barbs contain a poisonous paralytic capable of affecting the nervous system of whatever comes into contact with those fine fine tendrils. Kandji do not attack but merely float around the warmer waters of the ocean waiting for food to be caught in their tendrils. Stings are usually accidental and oftentimes fatal for lesser beings when not treated within an hour of being stung.

  • Habitat: Saltwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Eight hundred and nine
  • Species: Miniature Squid
  • Dimensions: 2.9 - 3.1 cm long
  • Abilities: Camouflage

Attributes: Quish are very adorable little creatures that have adapted flesh for hiding from enemies and predators. Where they can blend into their surroundings by matching the colors. They also produce an ink that has been used to fill quills and pens. They are better known for their skin use, as they shed it periodically and it is then collected and dried to build scales and coverings for specialty gear and/or armor to help with camouflage for infiltration efforts.

  • Habitat: Freshwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Twenty one
  • Species: Gator Fish
  • Dimensions: up to 2.7 m long and up to 147kg in weight

Attributes: A curious mixture between fish and reptile, Crocoffin live in freshwater areas and feed on smaller fish than themselves. Although they appear threatening they very rarely every attack a human or our of water animal. They are relatively calm, travel in schools of over a hundred, and often die within a year of life after spawning season in the spring season.

  • Habitat: Saltwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Seven
  • Species: Giant Albino Eel
  • Dimensions: 1.3 - 4.9m long and about 76.4 - 93.7 kgs in weight
  • Abilities: Sonar

Attributes: Ghona are fantastic creatures of the seas. They enjoy the company of humanoid beings and oftentimes can be found following ships and boats out along the waves. They are an omnivorous water species that eat fish and can also filter feed on krill and small shrimp.

  • Habitat: Saltwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Three
  • Species: Giant Sea Turtle
  • Dimensions: Varies considerably from one to the next.
  • Abilities: Commune with the dead.

Attributes: Although known for their relatively gentle nature for being giant snapping turtles, Toramen are still a force to be reckoned with. Believed to be guardians of the lost, they are generally found amid ocean wreckage. More often than not this is due to having such contaminants land and stick to their shells; becoming a sort of camouflage. Toramen have been seen eating all manner of sea life including but not limited to giant tendrils of seaweed, sharks, and fish. Unfortunately, there is very little known about them outside of their enormous size and eating habits.

When they feel threatened Eelvis have a tendency to emit clouds of poisonous ink that once in the bloodstream can affect a creatures ability to move and breath.

  • Location on the  World Map: Lakes of Lagrimosa

  • Habitat: Freshwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Twenty nine
  • Species: Flying Fish
  • Dimensions: ?

Special Attributes: Despite their small size and relative adorableness, Tantrytes are named for their less than amicable qualities. They do not like to be bothered by much of anything or anyone. When disturbed all it takes is the notice of one before their unknowing victim is rendered deaf and entranced and more than often left to die. Like the call of a siren, their screeching has the ability to render a victim's mind muddied by nothing more than the song of the Tantrytes singing. Despite their capabilities, Tantrytes are vegetarian and survive on algae, freshwater grasses and any foliage that happens to fall into their domain from overhanging land plants.

  • Location on the  World Map: Pokapong Lake in Lagrimosa

  • Habitat: Freshwater
  • Number on Exhibit: three hundred and five

Which is reflected back to the outside world on their scales. Like the galactic dust of the galaxies, they shine very brightly. They are commonly kept as pets, but studies have shown that prolonged amounts of gazing at these fish can sometimes cause people to lose themselves. And by this, we mean memories, personality, and time.

  • Location on the  World Map: Lakes of Renovatio.

  • Habitat: Saltwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Thirty seven
  • Species: Umbrella Fish
  • Dimensions: 0.9 - 1.7m wide, 2.5 - 4.9m long

Special Attributes: Similar to the shape of an umbrella without a curved handle, Umbreils use this shape of their body to pump and glide themselves through the water. They are incredibly fond of using the under ocean currents to travel all around the continent of Fracture. In schools, they create what appear to be whirlpools as they group together and chance the currents they so frequently ride.

  • Location on the  World Map: Eastern Ocean of Lagrimosa; Oceans and Seas of Lagrimosa

  • Habitat: Various
  • Number on Exhibit: Twelve
  • Species: Large Armored Crustacean
  • Dimensions: 3.5 - 4.6 m long, 1.8 - 2.3m tall, and about 1,600 to 2,400 kgs in weight.

Special Attributes: Kraelte are considered to be children of Amalia city, the offspring of the hermit crab carrying the city on its back having been released from their trenches by its crash into San Yara. Where Amalia is a dreamlike city of fantasy the Kraelte can be considered the nightmares of its people. These twisted versions of the mother hermit are as insidious in nature as they physically appear to be. They will prey on anything they can ensnare with their tentacles or claws. And are known to cause the disappearance of sea voyagers. Snatching people from ships, docks, and beaches with incredible speed and agility. They are natural born predatory shadows. Kraelte are covered in thick plates of coral and stone fused exoskeleton shells, crafted by them through the breakdown of these products in their mucus and deposited on one another communicably. Although this was first thought to be a form of sociable grooming it has since been discovered they do this out of protection from larger predators and people.

  • Location on the  World Map: The Oceans of Amalia in the Wilds of Lagrimosa

  • Habitat: Freshwater
  • Number on Exhibit: seventy three
  • Species: Nocturnal Fish
  • Dimensions: 15.3 - 16.7 cm long

Special Attributes: Nytetril are strange nocturnal fish resembling a species of metallic goldfish. They are blind in the light but have the ability to see in the dark. Normally in hiding during the day in deep cracks or crags, they prefer feeding on nights without heavy moonlight. Their scales are incredible luminescent with slight color change in the light. Some people claim that their eggs have an aphrodisiac effect, and some report that it gives them night vision.

  • Location on the  World Map: Rare, ponds and lakes of Renovatio.

  • Habitat: Saltwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Sixteen hundred.
  • Species: Small Crustacean
  • Dimensions: 32 - 40 cm long

Special Attributes: The decor of the ocean. Electrimp are small crustaceans that dwell on the ocean floor and only rise to the surface during torrential oceanic lightning storms. They consume the electricity and static of striking lightning against the water's surface. Something akin to aurora borealis occurs during these times. In giant beautifully luminous displays as they feast on these natural electrical currents they light up. Crackling ripples of varying colored light brighten the surging ocean's surface with brilliant streaks and patterns. Although dangerous, people tend to visit Amalia's waters during hurricane seasons so that they may witness these amazing shows. Their populations number in the millions due to their prey like qualities, and are consumed by predators in large numbers. More often than not during their feedings, because they become so visible, it is possible to see dark spots occur in their patterns. As predators feast on them.

  • Location on the  World Map: The oceans of Amalia in the Wilds of Lagrimosa.

  • Habitat: Brackish Water
  • Number on Exhibit:  Eighteen hundred
  • Species: Vampiric Jellyfish
  • Dimensions: 8 - 13 cm long

Special Attributes: These tiny creatures are incredibly hard to find unless you know where to look. Their locations normally scattered all throughout the seas. Unlike others of their kind that travel all levels of the water, they prefer to reside in seafoam. Living on both fresh rainwater and saltwater. The brackish mixture usually causes cloudiness in which they can further hide from unknowing prey. Blowbles can sometimes be mistaken for bubbles in and around the surface of the water. One would not recommend poking them or touching them, as they live in massive colonies and are capable of sucking the life out of creatures a hundred times their size.

  • Location on the  World Map:  Where the Tyrean Sea of Genesaris meets the southern oceans of Lagrimosa.

  • Habitat: Saltwater
  • Number on Exhibit: Sixty four

Special Attributes: The clear white slime is not only from the production of oil on their bodies but also their saliva. Each mouth has three circular rows of razor-sharp cookie cutter like teeth. Around their heads are tendrils covered in an oily substance that can exude an electric current similar to a jellyfish. When bitten by one, it is important to quickly cleanse the wound, as the jelly-like saliva degrades flesh, to make it more easily eaten and digested. Despite all the teeth, the mouth is rather small. In order to obtain more food, they travel in large numbers. When they form a swarm, it can be dangerous to enter the water. The electricity produced by them can flow along their closely connected bodies producing a devastatingly deadly electrical current. They are the product of some seriously twisted genetic manipulation on the surrounding oceanic life. Once the food supplies began to run low, they started attacking the actual coral reef… They are extremely attracted to motion and blood.

  • Location on the  World Map: Waters surrounding Biazo Isle in Lagrimosa.

A fantastic and unique feature of the Menagerie that boasts its own imaginative landscapes. Comprised of handmade crafts, nature, and technology is the magical maze of the Illuminarium. There are multiple areas within the maze where secrets can both be built and unfolded. Crystalline rock formations, mirrors, nanite walls, and various types and colors of glass with a mixture of Mirror Sprite playfulness… Can send people to different portions of the menagerie, transport them to otherworldly areas, and link them to different places around Valucre. Pick an entrance and choose wisely, because there is no telling how long you will be gone…

The Illuminarium can generally be viewed as an infinite maze/labyrinth due to the number of materials used and displayed. With the helpful pranks of the Mirror Sprites that have begun to dwell here, the walls and doors are constantly moved around, making an exit nearly impossible to find. Keeping that in mind, each person wanting to enter is granted a panic button they can push when they become bored, fearful, or completely lost.

Specialty doors:

More often than not, once someone goes through a door they will not be permitted to return to the menagerie through it. Very few people carry this privilege and must gain it from Ina Akeno. So please plan your adventures carefully if you do wish for that to happen. This idea is merely to help other museums, conservatories, businesses, and organizations created by the writers of Valucre participating. Like a safety hub. There are a lot of fail-safes in place to ensure the safety of the menagerie and all of its animals and staff members. This is neutral territory and will hopefully be respected as such so that everyone is able to enjoy it. This does not mean there won't be special events and dangerous times mind you, they will just be carefully considered before being allowed.

The Petting Zoo

The petting zoo is a collection of animals deemed fit for interactions with Fantas-Menagerie's patrons. Some of them may be picked up or ridden, but be please careful, we pride ourselves on the safety of our animals as well as that of our patrons. Keep in mind that despite their inclusion into the menagerie they are still wild animals and will protect themselves thusly. Take care to learn about the creature you touch in the event you think inciting an incident is wise so as to potentially deter yourself from doing so. Remember to say thank you to the Beast Tamers, not only do they train the animals but are also there to keep you safe!

Scavenger Hunt

The scavenger hunt works as follows, similar to that of a quest:

It requires 15+ posts of quality content per participant in the thread. That is equal to one person doing one page alone. The reason for this is because, in order to find all these items, you need to show initiative, creativity, and knowledge of the lore on Fantas-Menagerie. Plus, what is a prize worth if it isn't earned? Speaking of prizes, each will be dependant on the content of the thread. I will only acknowledge three threads to compete in a scavenger hunt at any one time, so please link me when you start it. HAPPY TRAILS!

Prizes are done as follows:

First place:

A specialty item crafted by Miss Ina Akeno of the Babel Corporation. This may include items-but not limited to-such as armor, weapons, and tech along with canonization in Fantas Lore.

Second Place:

A randomized basket of goodies, including an Alterna Crystal specially crafted by Dr. Lilium Concordia.

Clown Parade

db1f67a4cd564a1996cddf63fdddafcf.jpgThere cannot be a circus or carnival without the prettily painted faces of clowns dancing and marching around to the toots of their own horns. Tiny cars, squirting flowers, and balloons galore follow them through the menagerie as they make the ridiculous rounds.

Troupe Tramp is actually a type of music festival. This is on display like a giant ballroom full of dancing and singing and laughter where anyone can join in. The variety of the music played depends on the Caretakes running it so it is constantly changing.

Should you wish to take on a quest, please contact -Lilium- to gather more intel regarding it. As for loot and prizes, those can be discussed and agreed upon before the start of a quest.

One minute your character is standing in an exhibit taking a look around and the next minute...they’re still there! They spend hours walking around in what seem to be endless circles trying to figure out why they cannot move onto the next exhibit, but they are still stuck. What in the world can be going on?

MissionInvestigate the situation and take a closer look at the exhibit. Why is it so much larger than the last one you visited? And what are those weird rippling spots you can see at shoulder height perforating the air?

Where’s Wilda the Wandering Unicorn?

The Fae have named their favorite resident Unicorn Wilda, because she is a wild one. No matter the amount of effort or magic the staff puts into locating and keeping Wilda in her habitat, she is a creature of her own accord that does as she pleases without regard to anyone or anything. She can be found randomly around the Menagerie wreaking havoc with her wild magic, snacking at the vendor stands, or visiting the other exhibits inhabitants.

Mission: Should you choose to accept this tiresome task. Find Wilda and return her to her appropriate abode.

Seeing Dark Spots.

All over Stonehaven citizens have been reporting mobile dark spots coming out of cracks in walls, sidewalks, everywhere. And by mobile, they state that these dark spots move around fairly quickly before disappearing.

MissionInvestigate and gather intel on these dark spots to find out what they are, where they’re coming from, and whether or not they are a threat to the Menagerie.

Mirror-go Maze.

The Illuminarium is a marvelous highlight to the wonderment that is Fantas-Menagerie. It tends to attract many an adventurer and even some who are not. Every once in a while it is not uncommon for someone to wander in and get lot. Although people are provided location bracelets, there can be the one that slips in without one.

MissionLocate someone claimed to be missing but beware, you might lose a part of yourself in an attempt to do so. There are more ghastly sights to see aside from the tricks of the Mirror Sprites. And every reflection imposed on the sight may be a demon you may not wish to face.

Scavenger Hunt

After someone wins, it is updated with new items to scavenge for! Keep up-to-date for new prizes!
