Approaching this strange realm would leave a sense of dread and foreboding, the earth dry and long dead as the corruption had sucked out all essence of what made life possible within this desolate patch of land. Dead trees, fallen debris, hidden caves and long forgotten crags dotting the landscape. The odd patch of ruins laying in rubble, not even the sound of a scavenging crow could be heard. Walking up this darkened path, one would get the sense something was watching you, waiting for you to turn your back before it pounced. A strange energy looming from a ruins central core.

As the hours passed and the day had progressed, we would find Shad and Tyr making their way along the path before them. What lay ahead unknown as the dirt kicked up below their feet, her gray gaze drifting over the obvious abandon as the scent of long dead and ancient earth drifted across her senses. Her hues seemed to darken as those darkened tendrils drifting through the whites of her eyes. She didn't like the sense of this place.
"I don't like the feel of this place..."

Shad would nod in agreement. "Tell me about it, everything looks dead. But let us not regret coming here...even though it might seem like it," he says, taking his shield and holstering it on his left forearm. "We should stay fairly close, but that's not going to be a problem for you now would it?" he would do as he said, moving closer to her with his shield ready in case something jumped at the two.

He would look around as they walked, the place did gave him this sense of dread, it reminded him of Darkseid, that's how everything felt when they were around him. Dead, no emotion, nothing only dead. Shad shakes his head and focuses on the path ahead. "Well, I don't suppose this place has a five-star hotel, like back in the Woods. "he would joke, but he didn't know if bringing humor in this was the best way to go.

The corruption slipping from her eyes, spreading across her pale skin like tiny interlocking spiderwebs, they would solidify at certain areas, forming protective plating over vital points while still leaving her free to move. The usual fallen's helm however would have remain off while the halberd she usually used had morphed from the tendrils within an armored hand. He hadn't had to tell her twice, having better odds in numbers would have meant a better outcome. Stepping over fallen trunks, the gravel crunching beneath her booted foot. She couldn't help but get the feeling something was following them within this dark place.

Off in the distance rocks would shift from their perches, crumbling down the side of canyon walls as beasts shifted in the shadows, caught aware of their approach by the fresh scent on the wind. Low growls echoing within the expanse of silence. Jokes aside, the woman would whisper, "Something tells me I'd much prefer Kyla's teeth to theirs..."

Tyr wouldn't be the only one to get that feeling of being watched, Shad would have that too as he looked around every few two seconds. He would tighten his fist as it made a few cracking sounds, he would hear some of the rocks crumbling down of the side of the canyon walls. "Somethings is following us," he whispered to her.

Hearing the low growls echoing within the expanse of silence and his significant other's whisper, after looking at her he would look in front to see what was approaching. "Something is definitely there," he says, narrowing his eyes to see what was approaching.

Off to the right, tucked between a wall and a large boulder, the beast would begin the rise. Standing fifteen feet, it’s broad shoulders spanning almost six, crimson glowing eyes would open as it peered toward them. A low rumbling growl would resonate within the recesses of thick throat as jagged yellowed teeth would bare. Advancing towards them slowly, it’s thunderous footsteps sending tremors through the ground.

Tightening her grip upon the weapon the woman merely smirked, looking to the man she now called her partner.  “Let’s go have some fun.”

Shad would look at her as well. "Yeah, let's," he said as the nanotech wrapped around his face, creating his helmet and his shield's runes would glow. The shield now would have sharp edges, kinda like a buzz saw but the sharp edges were few and not too many either.

As Shad approached he would run towards the beast's right side and takes his shield and throws it at the Beasts' right shoulder. The Shield would spin fast, so fast, that it could cut anything it touched, with incredible force behind it, making its way buzz roaring towards the Beast's shoulder. If it hit or cut some through the Beast's shoulder it would come back into his hand.

The blackened mass would grin, jagged yellow teeth would drip with saliva as it opened its mouth in a snarl, its black forked tongue would dart across those sharp teeth as it tasted the air before them. The advancing human didn't seem to phase it, for its stride would continue unaltered. Crimson eyes spying the shield coming toward it at breakneck speed, he would merely laugh. His black form opening up like a curtain as the shield spun directly through it, arching back around to land upon the mans arm. The creature would laugh again, its arm swinging back to grab hold of a massive boulder and throw it at the human coming toward him.

Her eyes would swirl with various tints of blue and red, taking on the color of his shield. Sending those colors swirling over the black oil slick of her armor. the reds seemed to linger down the arm holding the halberd, spreading across her arm and shaft of the halberd, licking flames across its blade as she moved to flank the creatures opposite side. It would have put the two of them to either side of the beast.

As the Creature throw the massive boulder at him, he runs and spins mid-air, maneuvering his body in the air and with the momentum he created. He would throw the shield with his right hand with a mighty swing.

His shield would turn faster than before, making it capable of very high cutting densities. After a moment there was a slashing metallic sound as it slashed through the boulder into two pieces, the cut was so fine, the two boulder pieces were perfectly cut into halves.

Because of the circular shape and for the shield no being totally flat after it slashed the boulder, it would come back towards Shad as he lands on his feet and rose his hand up and quickly caught the shield back into his hands and holstered it into his left forearm as he charged towards the beast.

He jumps high and does another spin as he throws the shield yet again at the Creature aiming for the body, if it hit, it would come back towards him and he would do a spinning hook kick and send it flying towards the Creature's head, and if it would hit or not it would still come back into his hand.

He docks and rolls towards, nearing himself Tyr as he held up his shield with his right arm, as he was kneeling right about the center of the Beast. "Trust me and just hit it!" he tells her, waiting for her to hit the shield if she would decide to hit it. The impact of the Halberd and shield would create a massive shockwave energetic aura coming straight towards the Beast with great force and impact behind it.

As the raining debris of pebbles and dirt began to settle, the two would leap away from the crashing boulder as his shield had split it off into two. Those strange eyes glinted as she shifted her attention toward her partner for a moment, keeping a watchful eye on the beast as well. What had he been planning... surely he would have told her ahead of time what secret attack? A minor oversight, such would be rectified at a later date when she would ask him to show him again what the hell that was. If they were to form some weird secret move where they combined their efforts, it might suit them better to actually... practice. She would do as he asked, with her prism traits powered by the corruption at her fingers.

With the help of the flames lapping at the blade of the halberd, like strange vines of creeping flame. The contact with his shield would have let the color leap upon the surface of the shield as it engulfed itself in flame. Encompassing the shield like a spinning fire ball, the combined force would have driven burning shield into the beast. Having anticipated the assault of the weapon, the creature would have did what it had done before, splitting its form in an effort to evade the on coming threat. However, what it didn't seem to factor in was that these fire like tendrils liked to leap from target to target on contact. The creature would have moved in effort to avoid the shield, but as it passed through those red vines lashed out over the shadowy form. As the shield exited the beast the fiery tendrils would have released their hold on his weapon, aiming to consume the beast before them.

His shield would have no doubt returned to his arm, free of damage or markings if not for the heat that radiated from its surface. The flames would sear the gaping wound open, preventing the creature from closing itself back up. The creature roaring at this new consuming threat would thrash, black clawed hands trying to snuff out the hungry flames that threatened its hands. It was panicked, raging. Having never seen a flame quite so driven by the desire to consume all it touched.

Tyr's gaze moved from the bellowing beast to her partner, raising a quizzical brow. "What the hell was that?"  More so meaning his aim at her striking his shield, she would certainly need to work on being a team player.

As the shield did it's thing as Shad had anticipated he would stand up and catch the shield, the fire eventually went out, and as per usual, the shield had no scratchings, markings or burnt spots, courtesy to the material it was made out of.

"Right, that dear, it's called teamwork," he explained, his lips leaving a short smiley smirk. "That's what I and the Leaguers tend to do, work together to defeat a threat," he says, as this remembered him of a short tale. "This reminds me of something. One time, we were surrounded by enemies so they perfectly lined and well, Magnus was there with me. He has this Hammer so he would strike my shield and from it, some sort of blueish shockwave would be created and send towards the enemies. It would always go towards what I point it because of the vibration, courtesy of the sound it made. " he ends.

"That's the reason I wanted to teach you how to use my shield," he said. "But we didn't get to that part, unfortunately." he sighs. "Oh well, being the first time we did it, it was actually pretty good." he shrugs.

So be meant to tell her he based the success of this move on a hunch? Not having been sure if it was going to be work, but decided to go with it anyway. A strange look passed across her face, what if it hadn’t worked? Or back fired? Basing the compatibility on a hunch could have been dangerous, to say the least.  Shrugging it off for a moment, she would give a small sigh as her gaze lingered over the crumpled burning beast.

“Definitely gonna have to work on that...”

Glancing up at him quietly gave a small smirk. Would likely come in handy later down the road. Morphing their abilities to take down an opponent, especially when her began to wear out. Perhaps they could have piggy backed off that, her prism traits giving his shield an elemental edge while his would offer increased strength.

"Yeah, once we find a safe zone," he says, looking around their surroundings. "That is if this place has any." he rose an eyebrow as then he would look at her and lower it. "What now?" he asks. "We put that Beast out of its misery or we let it burn?"

Indeed, their having combined powers would make them a deadly and formidable duo and hard to beat at their best. Shad half put it on a hunch and half he knew what was going to happen but if that hunch worked so well, he couldn't help but wonder as she looked at her. How powerful they could become? Indeed, an interesting question which would wait until the two partners would train again and use their abilities together.

Ordinarily she would have let the dying beast suffer it out and walk away, yet with a sigh from her lips she would give a small snap of her fingers of a red clad hand. The crimson tendrils on the shadow creature would suddenly convulse before turning in on themselves, ripping the beast apart. Maybe...that...maybe that was worse then letting the beast die on its own. For the sound of crackling bones and slurps filled the space of silence as the corruption devoured, the tendrils regrouped back toward the halberd after finishing their meal.

The black armour clad woman would look toward the long abandoned ruins of some strange temple, a brow would arch softly as she  tilted her head.  “Could always check that out..?”

Shad would watch as the Beast died by being devoured by the flames, he didn't really feel pity for it was a beast of corruption, sometimes to achieve peace you must have gotten your hands dirty, compromising at best, which sometimes it didn't make him sleep so well, he thought.

The runes on his shield would stop glowing and the razor sharped edges would emerge back into the shield, giving it, its slick circular shape without the edges as he places it on his back and his helmet dissolves back, revealing his face.

He would see what she was talking about, the abandoned ruins of some strange temple. He nods and looks at her. "Yeah, we could," he says, as he started to walk right beside her towards the strange temple. "Let's stick close, keep your eyes sharp, we don't know if that was the only thing out there for us," he says.

The crimson tendrils receding back to where they'd come, lingering upon the edge of the halberd's blade. Her gaze would skim across the broken path before them, rock debris and fallen trees littered the road ahead. Parts of the road seeming to disappear into broken crags or ditches, dead roots breaking up the earth. Strange black bird like creatures would circle up in the distance, had it been a signal of a long dead kill that they were waiting to piece apart.  Her grip upon the shaft of the halberd would loosen as  they made their way passed the charred place marker of where the beast had previously stood. The two would indeed need to work on their teamwork skills, for Tyr had been a creature of habit and was used to being a solo act. Had the two not gotten some thing down pat if could have been a liability.
She would give a small sigh, her eyes on the road ahead of them as she let her thoughts roam. The land was dead, nothing good would have come out of this land. Rotten, tainted, corrupted. She imagined this is what the Abyss would have been like had Rykr been allowed to make it to the surface, spreading his corruption and tainting the souls that lived there, tossing them into the perpetual grinder of his world.

Speaking more absentmindedly out-loud then anything, she let it hand within the air.
"I really don't know what we expect to find here. But whatever it is I don't imagine its going to be pretty."
