The Path of Mystery Continues

Who knew the path Shad would choose for him and his, partner, lover, and significant other would take that long to walk upon. It was for sure a long path, for Selemath was further away than Yh'mi was and hopefully it would be better than their last Journey, but life is a mystery, some say it can be a box of chocolate and that you'll never know what you are going to get. While Shad did not anticipate for the trip to be so long that it would take a day to walk, even so, he would have Tyr's back and would also go hunting for the food for their campfire.

After hours of some good walking, undoubtedly Tyr telling him that he might have chosen the wrong path or that he doesn't know where he is going. He had this feeling in his heart that he knew where they were going, so he stuck to the path, taking no shortcuts and eventually after some other hours of walking, by the middle of the day. From a noticeable distance, there was a very large forest, while the signs would say that they would have arrived inside a City, it was impossible for the newcomers to discern where the actual forest ended and the city began.

Shad would be impressed with the look of the forest, the trees were very large indeed with beautiful leaves and many different colored ones at that, and the flowers were gorgeous to look at, it left him with a wow at the end. It would appear that his wishes came to pass, as he sees birds singing and flying around, somewhere in packs others were alone, but there was a harmony to it all, the beautiful chirping singing would play a beautiful melody in his ears as they walked down the path. Finally, a place filled with life, harmony and beauty the trees alone and the nature were so beautiful it was a sight to behold, it looked mesmerizing.

He would nod at the peaceful thoughts, what new exciting things would the two experience? would there be another test to test their relationship to see if it would keep growing ever so stronger? would there actually be enemies to face? the forest looked peaceful at first glance but one can never be truly sure.

Eventually, he would start to give up hope, the sign said there was a city, so where is that damn city? one would think there would be civilization, correct? he thinks. But the Forest itself wasn't known to make people lose hope, oh, on the contrary. For the actual houses were one with the beautiful trees, as most of the Original Trees have been left standing, to let nature continue on striving and live forever. As the fluid architecture of the Elves, indeed, there were Elves in this Forest, incorporated the living trees into their structures which were built by them, while ofter curving it to allow a larger tree to grow, and sometimes even using the living wood as part of the structural form of a dwelling.

It was to be noticed that most of the dwellings were constructed off of a mix of wood and stone, many having two or three stories and featuring high arches and pillars that mimic the natural structures of the trees with intertwining branches. Within a dwelling, most doorways were closed by an ornamental hanging of heavy fabric rather than a wooden door. These fabric door hanging, called veldaln,  were beautiful, featuring delicate embroidery and feltwork that has been a family member's labor of love for many years. Some show family portraits or woodland scenes, while many others feature the mother tree.

As Shad and Tyr more and more made their path into the actual City, the place started to look really alive all the sudden as people walked through, doing their daily chores, jobs, occupations, and the children, oh the childer would enjoy themselves, playing with each other and having fun as Shad would smile at that, it was a paradise. The main bulk of the population were the actual Elves but it was also to be noticed that there were actually humans, and not that few but rather quite a few and they weren't the only ones, there were also other species, centaurs, gnomes, and other more exotic creatures.

As they continued walking and exploring the City wouldn't also look too old, to their surprises, it was more of a modern wooden house build style look which made everything look like home. Though without a doubt the couple would be tired of all of that walking just to get to this beautiful place.

To Shad's surprise, there was an actual human establishment or at least a quarter of it as there were other species working in the place which was called, Hotel Sunrise, which had quite a few stories as the ground base was that of a tree it wasn't too much out of it either, while he didn't know if Tyr needed it but Shad did truly need a place to lay down and rest at least for the moment, he turns his look back to her while it softens as he looked at her. "So, I think after that very long walk, we both could use some rest in a..." he looks over the hotel and sees the rating. "Five-star Hotel, so what do you say?" he asks her.

How long had they been walking? The differing in scenery and scents along the way had been a nice touch, the flocks of birds and other varying life along the road so much different then the death outside the ruins they were last in. Although as they made their way into this new city, the corruption was like a constant nattering thing within her ear. Asking her to let it loose to feed on the life that boomed within the massive area, big and small. She could feel its hunger, and after having been lost and circling around for what felt like weeks, she would have rejoiced at the prospect of a hot meal, a bath and a good rest for what could have been an eternity for all she cared. The comfort of a bed would far beat that of laying on the grass.

She had never seen so many elves before, so much in the way of life within this new region they had entered. She would turn to look up at him with a faint smile on her face, perhaps she was more tired then she had thought. "Yeah, they sounds great. Maybe a bite to eat too. " The latter was an understatement, with the constant banter of the corruption she could merely feel its hunger grow.

"Alright, so you want a separate room or one together with me?" he asked, assuming that she would follow. Entering the establishment they would see humans, elves and other creatures working together in maintaining the place as in a separated room the people which decided to stay in the Hotel would have lunch and eating what they have ordered, Shad would walk towards the counter and waiting for the man which worked at the reception.

Indeed the woman would have followed him, her smaller stride falling in line with his own longer one as the two made their way inside. Her gaze wold drift over the room and its occupants, so many different varying species of people, it surprised her they were all so...peaceful. It would have taken her a moment to answer as her thoughts were clearly elsewhere. The corruption was whispering to her, telling her how much of a trick it all was. They weren't all happy go lucky and rainbows and butterflies. There had to be some sort of trickster at play.

She would blink, coming back to her senses before looking up at him, "Ah.. er... I suppose one is fine."

"Alright," Shad said, waiting at the reception. Then a man came, he was in a suit, black one with a white shirt and black tie, he looked as if he was 45 years old, he had grey short hair, white pale skin and blue eyes with a bulky form but not muscular as Shad was. "So sorry you had to wait, things have been a little hectic," he spoke with a British accent, apologizing in a polite manner. "How may I be of service?" he asked.

"We want a couple bedroom if that is possible, please," Shad said, the man looked over to Shad then to Tyr and then back at him. "Alright, excuse me for two seconds please," he said taking a notepad, searching for free rooms. "Oh, we have one. It's upstairs, through the hallway making a hard right, the room's number is 17, please do so enjoy your stay, breakfast is at 8:30, lunch at 12:00 and dinner at 7:00," he said it all with a friendly smile, handing him the keys.

Shad takes the keys and gives the man a nod. "Thank you," he said politely, turning to Tyr. "Okay we got the room, follow me," he tells her, making his way upstairs, it was to be noted that the stairway was wide and had two ways you can to, from the right side and left side as they reached the middle stairway, he takes the right side and walks up, reaching the hallway as he continued walking making a hard right, it was to be noticed that the hallway was beautifully designed and decorated with gold touches and red accents.

They eventually find room 17, he unlocks the door and enters inside. "Wow," he said, the room had a cozy feeling, the room was also really big with a big bed for two persons, with white pillows and blankets and the beds were comfy as if you were lying on a marshmallow. The curtains were red and the room had a wooden built style to it with oak wood. "Now this is an impressive room," he said looking around, as they had a bathroom, toilet but no TV of course.

She would have stepped aside as the suited man approached, her gaze drifting up and down his form. What a strange attire.. she thought. This place was so unfamiliar to her, bustling with life and energy so different from the places she was used to. She had never seen that many varying species all n one place. Having left the Abyss, she would have traveled to a place called the Ancient Isles, far smaller group of people spread across a large plain. The other realm after that had simple been called The Center, that place had been a vast water realm, filled with pirates and and ancient dinosaur like creatures. The peace here was different and the corruption didn't trust it, the innocence here.. the life.. the souls.. the energy, the corruption wanted it all and it was hungry.

That driving her own hunger and the constant bickering of the corruption had indeed started to give her a headache. Drawing a breath, she would have followed Shad to the room, entering after he had, she would allow her gaze to adjust to the dim lighting as the lingering scents of food driving the hunger like an iron in her stomach. Swallowing hard, she would move further into the room, going over to the window to glance outside. The greenery of the trees and lawns, the amount of people.. how? How had that large of a population survived in a place like this without wreaking destruction? She would close her eyes for a moment, there was so much more calling her here then the other place. So many more colors begging to be tested, so much of her abilities to be used. And then there was the corruption. She wasn't sure if she wanted to eat first or fall asleep for what felt like days.

Replying to his comment though, she would turn back with a light smile.  "Yeah, its pretty cool so far. This place... it's... its a lot to take in."

Shad smiled at her. "I'm glad you like it," he said looking at her, she looked strange he could notice she was starting to get hungry and that she was also tired. "I can see that you are hungry there, dear and tired. But I can say that food is number one priority, so how about we go get something to eat?" he asked her as he would take his shield and place it on the side, as he would also take his armor off and placed it in the closet, for now, he looked at her. "So are you ready?" he asked.

Of course by the time they had reached this new land, her armor had long dissolved, replaced by the blackened slacks that clung to her slender legs with bottom of her pants tucked into the knee length black boots. A crimson dress shirt adorning her upper torso slightly larger then her small frame, rolled up at her elbows to free her hands. She would give a small sigh as she gathered her dark brown hair into her hands and brought it over one shoulder.

"Sounds like an awesome plan to me."

"Okay, let's go," Shad said as he gets out of the room, hoping she would follow him as he locks the door and walks downstairs, there was plenty of tables for people to have lunch. He walks towards a two-person table and moves the chair for Tyr to sit down like a gentleman would do, as he takes a seat himself, looking around. "Alright, so, what do you want to eat?" there were two menus in the middle of the table for her to take.

She would have followed him out of the room into the hall and down toward the dining area, her eyes skimming over the paintings that decorated the walls as they made their way. Taking the offered seat, she would have put her back to the wall as she glanced across the pages hosting the variety of offered meals. Her standard generally being a good steak, she would opt for fries, as like before. Closing the menu, she glanced around again. This place was so much different then Legends or Crimson.

"Its..louder here."

He looked at the menu as well, there were some good meals in there, he chose a drink and something to eat waiting for the waiter to come, he hears her remark and puts the menu down and looks at her, with a worried look.

"Does it bother you?" he asked. "I mean, I don't know if they have a quiet place." he said, "I'm used to it because that's how we humans behave in a restaurant or dining room in hotels," he explained.

He nods getting a better understanding of what she meant. "Well we eat, then we rest and then...we could explore the city and see what awaits us, y' know?" he said with a smile.

Eventually, the waiter would come, he wore a suit with a black tie, he stood about 1.85 meters, with brown hair, white skin, brown eyes with glasses, his body form was a smiler one, as he comes he smiled at them both. "What can I get to you two?" he politely asked.

Shad looks at him and smiles back. "Hey, I'd want some red wine for a drink and for a meal, I'd like cocked ham with sauce and mushrooms and a salad to go with it." the waiter wrote it on a note pad he turns to face Tyr. "What can get for you?" he asked politely, waiting for her order.

Tyr would have nodded in response to Shad's question of exploring after they rested. Her gaze would have drifted over the strange looking waiter as he approached to take their order, Shad would have placed his order, waiting her turn she would have placed her own. Responding back to the waiters question.

"I'll have a rare steak and fries, please. With a side of absinthe."

She would have dropped her gaze back toward the table, studying the table cloth with far more interest then it probably needed. Ignoring the nattering of the corruption, she would have tapped her fingers on the table slightly.  "It is really colorful though."

The waiter writes her order on the notepad and goes back towards the kitchen area and lets the chef know about the orders as he started to cook, while the waiter would go get the drinks.

Shad smiles at her remark, resting his elbows on the table with his back arched. "Well, I suppose I did say I want to visit a beautiful place so." he shrugs. "A beautiful place to explore with a beautiful woman." he would compliment her, as he smiled.

It was nice actually, the place gave him a sense of home though it was much different than the earth he was used to, the key references were there to make him visibly relaxed and peaceful. Maybe that's what he needed now, a peaceful place to rest for now and to enjoy life for a bit with his love.
