Grubbistch 3860 Posted July 9, 2019 Every journey begins with a single step, every legend, a choice, and every warrior, a battle. On this day, my legend will become greater than before, and they will know the name of Lancelot. Standing upon the verdant ocean of the Infinite Meadows, the warrior stood poised, ready for battle. In this, he awaited his opponent, his mind a resting monument of control and temperance. To lose oneself to their baser emotions is to admit defeat before the clash had even begun. For Lancelot, losing was never an option, and so he stood, in full control of himself, awaiting the moment when his enemy arrived. In both hands he clutched the Divinity Blade, a soft hum emanating from the beam the hilt projected, bathing Lancelot in a soft, blue light. This will be his weapon that paves the way for his legend to unfold. Many warriors wielded magnificent weapons, and this was no different. As iconic as the cape which fluttered softly in the breeze, this sword will be his means of ending those who believe themselves to be the de facto greatest in all of Valucre. They will be here in just a moment. The North Wind 424 Posted July 9, 2019 (edited) A whisper of a breeze flowed over the neverending plains that she had stumbled upon here. All was quiet save for the sickening stench of the godslayer. His weapon glowing like the sabers of light from the old worlds. Elegant and cruel weapons they were but her hide was made to handle such things. Or at least whenever it was ready and hardened. Willing her draconic might into a physical forme as she had done countless times now she focused into the latent power within her heart as black shiny scales began to cover her voluptuous body. Shredding her dress once again to ribbons tossed to the wind. Draconic mana swelling inside of her chest like that on an inferno. And the last of her body was sealed within the skin fitting armor. Claws and talons forming at her fingertips as she would sprint forward toward her enemy. Seeing a woman and a knight, woman rushing knight, was seeing by the Goliath. Slowly unsheathing the zweihanders at his back, he walked his way to towards the knight. The pure white sword shining brighter than a sun and the pitch black sword doesn't dare have a single ray of sun reflect off of it. Clank, clank, clank. The sounds of metal grew louder and faster as the giant sized man started running towards the knight, swords at the ready. The godslayer known as Lancelot will meet the blades of Lag-Nor Blademaster. The monochrome blades will be bathed red with the blood of a fellow knight. As the giant ran forward, the distance closed much faster than it should've. Grubbistch 3860 Posted July 9, 2019 Two came towards Lancelot, one woman and one man, each very large, very deadly, but not insurmountable. For every challenge there was a solution, and in that solution, came victory. Without further delay, he imbued himself with the power that lay within him, activating the Emblem of Providence. Bestow upon me, Erudite Swiftness! Psychic energy swirled around his very body, granting him the speed he desired, and he was ready to make his first move against the two opponents. Running forward at even greater speeds than them, it would appear as if he were going to engage them head on. Truthfully though, that was the farthest thing from the truth. Just as the gap between them was closing at just ten feet, Lancelot made a shift and directed his blade upon the grass. With twice the speed of a normal man, Lancelot was able to circumvent the two, as well as begin to leave a train of fire where the Divinity Blade met with the grass. They could give chase, but that would require braving the fire he left in his wake. If they wanted to team up on him, then he would do everything he could to make it difficult for them. Sooner or later they will slip, and Lancelot will be there to make sure it is the last mistake they ever make. This also activates his supporting power of Mental Cognition Enhancement. The draconic looking woman looked as if she'd fair better with the flames but Lag-Nor would. In an attempt to cut the foe off of his trail the giant sized man runs towards him, rushing in front of the knight's direction. Seeing Lancelot's speed, Lag-Nor runs ahead according to each of their speeds and puts his shoulder in front, in preparation for a Charge attack. The North Wind 424 Posted July 10, 2019 Fire spread all around the battlefield as she pushed forward towards her opponent, the Godslayer boosting his speed to that faster than any normal human should be able to go, but then again a godslayer should be anything but average. She steeled her resolve to fight as she ran through the fire and the flames. The soft tongues of fire licking her scales as she passed through them without harm. She was a dragon born of fire and rage and lived in a active volcano, this was nothing but comfort to her. Nocturna could feel the rage inside her growing stronger, a grinning monster out to kill. Feeling it grow inside her like a burning flame and force of nature set loose upon her mind. With that rage she grew stronger and stronger but her mind would fight to stay in control. She would have to stay in control to keep this fight in her favor. Facing the God slayer she would dash in with empowered leg muscles and talons able to launch her with force strong enough to rip through granite stone like paper she was focusing all of her power now into her physical abilities. Sinew and muscle fortified with draconic power a kick from this form could easily rip flesh from bone. She had felled monstrous bears with this power as nothing else would serve as a good enough sparring partner (or tasty enough of a meal) for the dragonfury. Her power was fortified enough to make the first move. she would launch herself toward @Infernal like a missile aiming for a clean hit she would fain a claw attack with her left arm but instead transition into a guillotine kick with her left leg using the momentum of her headlong rush to further increase her power. This was better not drawn out lest she lose her composure. Grubbistch 3860 Posted July 10, 2019 Spoiler One coming towards him, the other coming from behind, both wanting to defeat him, but will find only defeat in response. Lancelot intended on showing them the error of their ways, through the harsh defeat of battle. Anoint me with the Strength of Champions! They were nearly upon him now, both fighters coming in fast. Powerful, deadly, but also unable to stop before it was too late. As psychic energy filled his body once more, he jumped to the side, just as both opponents were within ten feet of him, now on a collision course for each other. This however would not be the last of his actions... With one fluid movement, he slashed outward towards the two, extending the range of his Divinity Blade to make up for his distance from the others as he landed just eight feet west of their position. Bracing himself, he put his full weight attacking from the right, counting on the Goliath hitting the dragon woman, thus sending her straight into his blade. If it all went well, then she would be cleaved in twain by the sheer strength of both forces acting upon her. Spoiler Number of Emblems of Providence: 3 Emblems Active: 2 Powers activated: Erudite Swiftness-Lancelots speed is now double that of an Olympic sprinter, his mind also sharpened by the Cognitive Enhancement supplementary power afforded him. Strength of Champions-Lancelots strength is now double that of an Olympian Weight Lifter, his body now hardened by the Invulnerability supplementary power afforded him. Divinity Blade (Elongate)-Lancelot has called his blade to extend several feet in length. Movement: Lancelot has jumped to the side eight feet and is now west of his previous combat position. The North Wind 424 Posted July 11, 2019 Grab the bull by the horns the old adage goes right? Well nobody tells you go from there, do they? Trying to keep a level head she had been forced into a corner. A literal rock and a hard place as one could put it. When faced with the decision of being harmed or harming another she had a very obvious answer. You see Nocturna was beset from her right left and right and while for an average person this may be a problem. She was already in a full blown stance to crush whatever was beneath her. Be it man or earth she had enough force to either destroy the target. Which with just the slightest adjustment of the prepped guillotine kick she had enough force to propel herself straight up into the air while simultaneously crushing the surface level of a 10 foot radius of earth beneath her. With enough force to launch her well into 30 feet of air. She was now within her element. The sky. Air rushed through her crimson hair as she began to fall. With a deep breath she focuses her power on creating the leathery black wings of dragons she had come to know as her own. As a black tar like substance exploded out from her shoulders and hips she would begin to fall only to catch herself about 8 feet above the earth before pulling up and gaining vantage over her foe(s?). SteamWarden 719 Posted July 11, 2019 Upon seeing the enemy knight jump out of the way and seeing the dragon woman coming into possible collision with him, Lag-Nor quickly saw the woman launch herself into the air. Seeing the knight extended the blade through magical force the goliath pulled his swords in front of him and positioned the pure white blade in front of him getting ready to reflect the sun off the blade into the eyes of his enemy. As he prepped the blinding attack, he reared back the black sword and stuck it in the ground behind him to slow himself down. After he officially slowed his movement down he positioned the white blade and prepared to blind. Grubbistch 3860 Posted July 13, 2019 Spoiler Light shined through the slit in his helmet, blinding Lancelot in a fashion that had him feeling a burst of anger going through his psyche. Such tricks were the works of cowards, especially in a clash which promised great glory for the victor. This was the moment to prove yourself as a warrior, not to stoop to such knavish levels. Lancelot intended to show this titanic cretin the true skill of a warrior. With this speed, I will blaze my legend across Valucre! The third and final Emblem had been brought down, bringing his Erudite Swiftness to greater levels, his body moving faster than ever, his mind perceiving the world around him in crystal clear definition. Retracting the length of the Divinity Blade while charging forth, Lancelot was ready for a mighty thrust into his opponent. When he came into striking range, Lancelot's mind could process various vectors of attack. The weapons the Goliath wielded were powerful, but if he got in close, they were next to useless. With one in each hand, he would have to drop one of them in order to fight back effectively, meaning all Lancelot had to do was get in his guard, and he could make a decisive attack in one of the weak points of his armor. All that was required now, was how to do it... If the Goliath attempted to swipe at him with both weapons, Lancelot made a jump for it, landing upon him and grabbing hold of the collar of his breastplate. In the same second it took to shorten the Divinity Blade, he began stabbing savagely into the space between helmet and breastplate. Should the giant warrior attempt a counter thrust, the same tactic was going to happen. If he went for an overhead slash, then a simple side step gave him the opportunity to go for the less armored groin of his opponent. Given the speed at which his mind was able to react, he felt prepared for anything, which meant the outcome was most certainly a bloody victory for him. Active Powers: Erudite Swiftness(2)-Lancelot's speed is now four times that of an Olympian Sprinters, his mental capacity increased accordingly due to the Cognitive Enhancement supplementary power. Strength of Champions(1)-Lancelot's strength is now twice that of an Olympian Weight Lifter, his body now tougher as well due to the Invulnerability Supplementary Power. Movement: Charging straight for Lag-Nor. Attack: A thrust into the chest with counter moves prepared for enemy's attempts at striking first. The North Wind 424 Posted July 17, 2019 From the sight of things Nocturna could at least surmise from this encounter the larger knight was on her side, or at least was the foe of her foe. Perfect. With all of her willpower Nocturna would begin to radiate heat like that of an inferno from her body. Her chest and stomach would begin to eminate the crimson orange glow of fire from within her. Slowly moving higher into the air to be out of reach from her aggressor. Large powerful wings would create powerful down drafts as her massive wings would push her up higher into the sky. She charged copious amounts of energy within herself oxygen being converted into raw energy and radiation while it mixed with a black ichor like substance. A gelatinous ball would begin to form at the front of her maw. SteamWarden 719 Posted July 18, 2019 Seeing the foe knight charge him and gain incredible speed from seemingly nothing. As the knight grew closer Lag-Nor's mind raced and thought of his run with a minotaur. One way to deal with a full force attack from the front is disable the weapon of the enemy. With a feinted slash with his white sword he would see the knight jump up and latch onto his breastplate, sword raised in the air ready to stab down into his chest. Quickly he'd drop the white sword and latch both arms around knight, arms being able to wrap completely around him, one arm around the upper torso, under the swinging arm to halt the blade and the other arm on the lower torso to prevent the knights free arm from wrapping around. The upper arm would attempt to reach for the hand of the knight and bend it backwards to break some bones or, at the very least, crush the gauntlet all the while trying to bend the blade's hilt in a near unusable fashion. Grubbistch 3860 Posted July 18, 2019 Spoiler Their battle had become a grand struggle of life and death, with two warriors trying to end the life of the other. His blade was already in the Goliath, but not enough to pierce one of his vital organs. What's worse, the massive warrior now had a death grip on his hand, trying to destroy the sacred artifact handed down to him as his birthright. By the Strength inside of me, I refuse to be beaten! Psychic energy flowed through him, strengthening his body, making it tougher and better able to handle the incredible might of his opponent. Struggling against his opponent allowed for him to occupy his attention, allowing for the killing blow to finally connect. To finally end this fight with Lag-Nor, Lancelot willed his blade to become longer, long enough to pierce straight through the lung, skewering major parts of it and the diaphragm. After that, he willed the blade to dissipate, then for good measure, struck the helmeted warrior with a headbutt, attempting to force him back so he would be dazed and possibly fall backward. If it worked, then he could set his sights on the dragon... Spoiler Active Powers: Erudite Swiftness(1) Strength of Champions(2) Attacks: Divinity Blade-By willing the blade to go longer, Lancelot attempts to pierce the lung and diaphragm of his opponent, then has the blade dissipate. Quick Draw(Headbutt)-Lancelot strikes at Lag-Nor's head with his own, attempting to make him fall backward and be dazed. Advantage(s): Enhanced strength from Strength of Champions power, giving Lancelot four times the strength of an Olympian Weight Lifter. SteamWarden 719 Posted July 18, 2019 (edited) The blade pierced through the organs of the goliath and the grip around Lancelot had weakened. Lag-Nor could feel the blade retract from his body and then the metaled helmet bash into his. Before he could feel his body not work and the light fade from his eyes, he stares down at the ground, one foot bracing him from falling. After having fully let go of Lancelot, he tightens his grip on his blackened Zweihander, quickly switches to a two-handed stance and prepares a thrust directly into Lancelot's abdomen. The last attack he can finally muster before succumbing to his fatal wounds.
